Well how are any countries pushed towards socialism? You would assume countries getting fucked extra hard by neo-liberal imperialism would be prime candidates for revolution. But how does this message reach the proletariat?
And when you have just general socialist theories that have worked before, and will work in the future, why even use religion to augment it like Liberation Theology or Islamic Gommunism? Has it really helped? How and why?
That worked out great didn't it? Didn't he also suggest that kings and rich land owners aren't all that bad as long they are charitable and good practicing Jews Christians? He didn't like the temple system but he didn't tell the Rabbis to give up their wealth.

Christians and Muslims will both have to renounce their shit ideologies or go to gulag.
Christian Howard
I'm sorry, but how the hell are any of these Islamic countries ready for revolution when most of them are barely at 20th century levels of development? The only Muslim countries I could see pulling off a successful revolution would be the porky Gulf states like Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar and Dubai, and only because they have more than enough exploited proletarians AND are highly developed technology and infrastructure-wise.
It's not just about the so-called "will of the people" or how much they suffer. Yes, humanity is important, but using appeals to emotion in order to make a case as to why socialism would work in a country that's still mostly feudal like Afghanistan or Morocco is almost like a 19th century person saying Africa needs capitalism because tribal warlords are assholes.
William Wood
this. all openly religious people deserve to be gulagged. muslims first though.

So now the problem isn't their ideology but the material conditions which they find themselves in?
Jason Williams

nice try tho stormturd.

It's not either/or. At this point, the Islamic World is going for pan-Islamism because 1. there is no more USSR to fund genuinely left-wing movements in the region like it did back in the 1960s and 2. socialism wouldn't be able to work in any of those places except for a select few (Gulf countries, *maybe* Turkey or Iran) even if it was able to assume power.
Pan-Islamism is just bourgeois nationalism with a religious face. Back in the mid-20th century you saw the rise of pan-Arabism which, while internationalist and anti-imperialist, was heavily racialist and succeeded in turning ethnic minorities in the Arab World into the "Other" (in particular, Mizrahi Jews, who were never Zionists until pan-Arabists accused them of being so). In today's world, pan-Islamism unites all Muslim nations under a common flag but does so at the expense of religious minorities in the Islamic World. Regardless as to whether or not the flag is green, red, and black or just a solid black with the shahada, the same Arab Sunni chauvinism remains.
