Technology and Technology-culture is becoming repulsive

Those languages suck. It's not just "Lisp weenies" who don't like Ctarded languages, it's a lot of people who use a lot of languages.

Programming sucks because UNIX shills tell you that you can't do better because it would offend some corporate tool from AT&T. Learn about Multics, VMS, ITS, Lisp machines, and other operating systems and their ways of doing things. Don't just blindly accept what some shill says about UNIX being "simpler" or "faster" or "research" because that's all bullshit. The UNIX tools and APIs suck, but you will never know unless you learn other ways to do it. All these flaws are in UNIX languages like C and C++ too. How many people even know what file versioning or record files are? AT&T shills were able to convince users that these were bad things.

What I find disgusting about UNIX is that it has *never*grown any operating system extensions of its own, all thecreative work is derived from VMS, Multics and theoperating systems it killed.

Um, will raising a clawed forefoot do, AB? As everybodykeeps telling me, file systems so primitive that they neededversion number support in the operating system existed solong ago that hands hadn't yet evolved.

I think I've identified the fundamental problem withunix. It's not that unix fellates worm-infested camels. It's that NO ONE DOES ANYTHING ABOUT IT. Unix is full of dumb bugs that any competent hackercould fix in ten minutes. But more than ten minutes iswasted by *every* hacker instead. ``Yup, that's anotherdumb unix bug. Sigh. Well, let's write an elaboratework-around...'' The problem is cultural: there seems to bean attitude of ``you can't fight city hall.'' ITS and the lispm are such wins not because they arebetter-designed (they may be, but god knows they have plentyof brain damage in them too) but because they have a cultureof ``That symbolics namespace editor sucks, so I spent tenminutes writing a better one and installed it on b:.'' What I can't figure out is why there isn't a giantmarket for improved unix software. For example, it seemslike it would be straightforward to write a decent C macroprocessor or garbage collector, and that you could make abundle of money selling them because everyone would wantthem. But no one does this. Why not? Maybe it's becauseweenies are so used to not fighting city hall that theycan't believe things could ever be better?

I honestly don't know why is it so difficult to create a community nowdays. It can't be a technical issue, since we have cheap access to fast internet, software and hardware that is capable of handling massive amounts of traffic while requirng very little power. Why is it that out of 366 idiots posting here only a handful are capable of holding a conversation? Out of 3.2 BILLION people with access to the internet we get this? To give you perspective: that is 32k stadiums of people with capacity of 100k each (pic 1 and pic 2 tiled stadiums representing all people with access to the internet).

Are people really zombies and retards as OP is describing? Where are all the nerds?

Ironically, it should be repulsive.
I doesn't want to make any comprimises for a normalfag's benefit.

It really is, but most jobs simply suck, wether you're a waiter or a corporate lawyer kssing ass and helping companies screw people over.
If you don't have a family that depends on a fat steady salary, get out and try a smaller company/start something yourself.

It's a lot of effort to create a community, and engage in actual conversations instead of shitposting or staying passive, although both those activities have their place as well, since people don't always have something to contribute.
It's rather hard to opine on technological topics in the abstract barebones form we prefer here on Holla Forums, it's a lot easier to do AMD/Intel and smartphone shitpost wars.
A lot of people who are very experienced and deal with the topics we speculate on here professionally might want to get away from it instead of explaining their workj between anime pics and porn.

read the Unabombers manifesto

Community of competent people have to have a filter to discern those who are valuable enough to enter their inner circle.
Today, however, people don't like to get cornered into free work for others without any immediate benefit (political or monetary).
So, todays "community" is loose connected individuals sharing between each other as long as their invested energy and time is less than their benefit.

There are no longer forums or groups of people with tech support or website behind them. All of them use almost all of services to reach each other, but none in particular (not falling on one service to hold the power over their community

if whoever's the BO gave his seat to someone who actually cared, things would really improve here

shut the fuck up, if yoou are making enough money to do something with your life you shouldn"t expect to find meaning from your job.
you are contributing to a system that wants to replace you with 80 iq subhumans, men that crossdress, and women who will try to get you fired for anything you say.
nobody really finds their job important because there is no incentive to marry, have kids, or start a business,
I bet if you learned a trade you would be just as nhilistic.
try doing construction, you will build houses for the asian people that wil take your boring programming job and make sure to never hire white kids like you.

The man exclaims to the passerbys: "My leg, my leg! I've just broken my leg!" But the passerbys do not notice, they just hobble along. Then by chance, one does take notice of the man's pleas. One whose broken leg is so festered after years of avoidance and poor treatment, and many days of great pain. This one says to the man: "Shut the fuck up, your leg's not broken." And so the illusion continues.
