Deus ex thread?

Oh I didn't know the PS2 version was better.

I guess I'll go download it and play it then. Anything else I need to know first?

My mistake, invisible war was released only on the Xbox. I was thinking about Deus Ex: The Conspiracy. If you've got an OG Xbox, it's probably worth it to play on that. If not, like I said, the PC version is kind of buggy.

No Xbox so I guess it's PC all the way. Wish me luck.

everyone shits on the new DX games too hard.
HR was a bit memey, but gameplay and story wise it was definitely competent, especially in DC where they fix boss fights for no-kills.

I've been playin Mankind Divided and it's the closest a game has come to the original DX, gameplay wise. I would kill for a remake of DX1 and HR in MD's engine.

DX1 was great for its time, but it's DEFINITELY aged poorly.

Honestly it's not a matter of aging it's always had wonky gameplay and poor balancing. Obviously the overall plot and a lot of the side content like Morpheus rank it as one of gaming's greatest redpills but you have to split up your politics from the game and look at it objectively.

Wasn't that just Deus Ex with an inferior main theme anyway?

Invisible war also has some great twists like both the Order and the WTO being controlled opposition from the Illuminati which they even foreshadowed with the two coffee chains that want you to fuck the other one up but then you find out the same corporation runs them anyway. Compare that to the frankly silly twists in DX1 and they're a world apart.

9/11 at the very least.

Yes MD nails the gameplay but the story falls off a cliff half way in. Doesn't help that the one interesting side character is killed 5 mins after you meet them, and you're stuck with a bunch of uninspired drones for the rest of it.

Also no Malik fuck you a half-baked reference doesn't count.
