Way of the Samurai

Who actually enjoyed the series? And why was it so hard for casuals to understand the push and pull mechanics of combat? For fucks sake, WOTS3 had an icon overtop the enemy that indicated whether the opponent was going for push, pull, or neutral.

What was
>favorite character of which game? And why is it Dojima?

...

on any difficulty above easy I've watched casuals become cannon fodder for anything bigger than a clans worst footsoldier.

Favorite game #1 would be #2 if they didn't introduce the time mechanic(though I understand it it just makes things alot more complex if you are going for endings as opposed to just gearing out)
Favorite Weapon: Probably jukkaimaru the telekinesis sword it's fun to mess with but there are so many practical weapons in wots 1 that it doesn't even matter.
Favorite Character? Idk maybe that crazy chick in the second game because I remember a moment in the second game when she ambushed me at night near my house and killed me.
Characters you hate the most? OP fucks like the aforementioned bitch. Any boss that you can fuck up but you can only get their weapons if you kill them during a certain story arc(ehh whatever I understand that we can't just have experienced players whittling down bosses and stealing their shit over and over again)

I’m on the fence for getting either 3 or 4. I don’t wanna waste my hard drive or time installing both games. I’m tempted by 3’s sandbox nature, but 4’s time limit seems really Dead Rising-ish.

3 and 4 both have their merits. The one thing I'd love to see for 4's steam port is a mod that allows an option to go past the tournament and to a point where the center of town isn't locked up, the other areas isn't locked up (if you ignored story points) and that way you'd be able to continuously do requests and missions from people. The thing about 4's timed travel is that it happens when either you sleep, or if you activate a key event.
With 3 there, the nearly infinite time is enjoyable to have, as you can effectively have an endless play of minigames, missions, and what have you with the clock feature. The points to get the story or plot going towards one ending or another is limited to if you can make it to an ink/plot spot fast enough in time to activate it. This in many cases, especially when trying to get the true best ending can be a royal pain in the ass. 4's timeline of events reminds me a bit of WoTS1's progression through the days. I would honestly say get both for the experience, but it's up to you. 4 enhances where 3 had custom sword forging, but the swords had the style choice locked to that particular sword you made. Whereas in 4, once you open up your dojo/take it over, and nightcrawl sensei you can create your own style with having multiple stances to choose from. That and I found it terribly convenient in my playthroughs, when I had the dojo running in one, to go around town and force magistrates to join me since half of them would be on my side instead of in the way.

Way of the Samurai is japanese Gothic.

I thought I was the only person to play these. Wots4 is probably top for me with 3 equal or close. I can literally play and enjoy all of em though. A good afternoon is a quick run of Wots1. Dojima for life.

the 'tism is strong with this one

Way of the Samurai is the Dark Souls of Japanese games.

...

Yeah, that asshole's one slippery fucker, have to go through a specific chain of events to 'win' and get the true ending.

Course fucking off from Japan with protecting an adorable noble girl isn't a bad way to end.

I enjoyed them, though granted, I only played 4. A lot though. I still play it sporadically and have been thinking of playing it some more, if only to find more sword styles and fuck about some more.
Probably the prajna rising one, where akagi and his bro die, and you take over as leader of the prajna after your escape
And start a massive revolution, with you at the helm, to fight the west
Because they change dependant on which direction you're facing relative to the camera. It requires you to think dynamically and always be aware of not only your position but your perspective. A lot to take into account while dueling someone and need to block/retaliate/do combos/etc.

Not that much, just say the right thing at the beginning and kill the cannon dudes.

I liked the first game he best. the others are all probably better in one way or another. But the fact is none of it had the shock value that the first did for me. The combats really easy, I've played the whole series. I don' really have a favorite ending. As enjoyable as I find these I think the story is full of stuff you've seen a million times.

I've only played 4 and I was barely aware of any push/pull mechanics. I got a lot of endings on higher difficulties and most of the time I won fights just by being hyper-aggressive.

I liked Akagi's style with any of the longer swords, like the washing pole blade. I couldn't really hack it with any of the claw/spear weapons.

...

Not even the definitive version of the game, either. That's JP-only on the PS3.

was it 1 or 2 where you could yojimbo the fuck out of everyone? that was the best one

3 was garbage but 4 is pretty gud even if the combat isnt deeep enough for my tastes

SAILORS?!

Fuck, gotta reinstall now.

Do they have any plans on making a 5th game?

Of course not.

Why the fuck not

Shit never sold, especially during PS3 era.
They went for more wacky narration with WOTS4 to see if less serious game would sell better. It did not.
Their waifubait games on the other hand were always selling quite well and that fucking VR one with vampire loli was having threads for a while now.
So yeah, you're most likely to get next akiba strip rather than wots or shinobido.

this is one of those games where no matter how much i play it, i can't get good. i played wos 3 and 4 for 60 hours each and never even got one single good ending.

never beat the game but feels good mang

the nationalists are the good guys actually

They had trouble with the push/pull Shameful. It's basically like free stunlocking.

There was this trailer from a few years ago but I never saw anything else.

Except for that purple costume there isn't a single new asset or animation in there.
It might as well be WOTS4 re-release with new dress up options.

Iai stance with a triple "Big Shot" sword fucks up EVERYTHING in 4.

Reminder that the lai style is the best style.

...

Only the first one was good

That wound up being something else, hence the not equals sign.

Eh, kind of.
The ending where everyone joins forces against the real badguys is kind of fun.

Samurais and weebs band together to defeat the jew.

I liked the first one and I think I liked the second one too, but after that they got a bit too weird for me.

...

I liked all of them, I think 4's my favourite because styles aren't locked to swords, despite the game being much less serious than the predecessors. Also, iaijutsu just makes my cock rock solid, so I made my own style with all the best moves, but when it comes to base styles Kogure's is obviously my favourite.

You also need some set up, namely the language school and hospital has to be open and the casino has to be destroyed or never opened.

Kind of what I figured, though I looked too much into the title of the video.

Her tits aren't even that big.

Keep in mind this is a game about feudal japan taking place in feudal japan.

They are giganormous.

i refunded it

Good.
No game locked at 30 fps is worth spending money on.

It's some name pun or something, her actual names supposed to be Melinda de Cameron. Though all of the western names are kind of memey sounding. The other names being Jet Jenkins and Laura Rita.
Don't know if it was the localizers being dumb or if it was supposed to be like that.

how do i get good at wots4? i have played 60 hours and I can't get even one decent ending.

you play on easy, retard

Here's what you need:

Obviously weapon crafting and custom stances are both things you are going to have to work at unlocking. Once you do though the game becomes pure easy mode. The only exception is in the true ending where you have to fight the 3 bitches unarmed, then you are fucked.

It's blunt and stab attacks that trigger big shot I think. Big shot does huge percent based damage, so it doesn't matter how much HP the enemies get.

That shit fucking destroyed me the first time I got to it. I think if you do the bad Prajna ending you have to kill Moro, allowing you to take his style which has a counter move, that's what I used once I know what's coming when I go for the true ending.
