I'm hoping it might have just been Terra. He was a little too slow for me but is there a movement or play guide that can help me gut gud? I fucking see jap players zig zag across the screen while playing most KH games as if it was DMC.

The challenge doesn't scare me, it's the bullshit in the challenge where just when you get the hang of it the games says fuck you and changes everything. The momentum shifted so fast to me that Terra's last fight felt like I was playing a different game.

Some of the stages are pretty long and I haven't managed to dodge everything yet, so I save multiple times on some stages.

Part of the problem could be the commands you're using. I can't remember for the life of me what worked best on Terra's final boss when playing on critical. I think it's either making several thunder blitzes or strikes. Upgrading your stats to max also helps with dodging and holding on enough to heal.

The only time I ever tried save scumming was the original Mega Man when going up against the boss that keeps teleporting back and forth. I was too disgusted with myself and quit a little afterwards without beating the game.

Just yesterday in fire emblem sacred stones when i savescummed the arena so that i would win all the time and grind my characters up

I'm reading now that there are some moves where you can't be hit during the start up of said move. I don't like looking things like this up until after I finished a game and decide if it's worth replaying but fuck this. I want to at least have a little understanding this cluster fuck of a story
This happened with me with Fire Emblem PoR. I was enjoying the fuck out of it but that fucking mission where you have to protect the port from the army that comes in on boat. I save scummed but then just stopped playing because I was mad but I'm replaying it after the KH series.

I think I have a special kind of autism because every game that I play I have to finish it, wither I liked it, it turned to shit during the middle of the game or it's just bullshit all around I just have to finish it.

I've done that when I was a kid, but nowadays it just takes out the fun of the game. I save scum fairly regularly on Fire Emblem though, for those random 3% crits you take and lose a character out of fucking nowhere, and general RNG fuckery.

Yeah it really does fuck you over sometimes, hell even the arena is a big fuck you. I had my paladin fighting a berserker and he was 1 strike away from killing him with loads of hp and the mad man actually got a fucking crit

I get that autism, but only for games I consider worth keeping. If I hate it, I drop it. Sometimes I can figure the game stuff out, but then there's the hidden ending crap you have to figure out. You should get the secret episode after the final episode for beating it on proud for BBS. Otherwise you have to kill 1000 unversed and load a save to finish the final episode again. Completely forgot to check for it until stopping at the final boss of DDD today, same hidden requirements the game gives you no hints about to get it. This series and the hoops you have to jump through to understanding the story is something else, I really pity anyone going into KH3 that only played 1 & 2.

It say's the secret movie is easier to unlock but there is no shown requirements to be met in the game, unless I'm blind. Are secret requirements in the manual because that would be a nice touch and I'm playing on the psp emulator.

I played one and two but still was instesrted in the story until I saw this image posted in one of the KH threads recently. I said what the fuck but the same night I was downloading all the KH games that I could so that I could play them in order. Finding the English patches for the Final Mixes was a pain but I have them.

Arena abuse just breaks the game though, so I just visit it once per character when there's one on the map, never bet high and forfeit the money if I'm going to lose. At least I don't feel like a piece of shit for walking around with 20/20 characters by midgame

Ah crap, that one doesn't have the secret episode. I think it was just for the PS3 version. To get the final episode for proud, you also have to complete the sticker albums, which is really easy. You just have to grab them all and stick them in different spots until you hit max points. The game will then ask you to make a separate save file to load the final episode from. The secret episode isn't much, you can just watch it on youtube. 3 rooms of recycled content and a generic boss. Lasted less than an hour.

Oh wait, I fucked up again. You have to collect all the Xehanort reports to get the final episode. Then you get some shitty trailer by doing the stickers. Why does this have to be so complicated.

Dishonored 2, today, while starting a no-detection run.

I have an obsession with never being detected in all stealth games. Going back to old Splinter Cell and Hitman games, and even playing stealth characters in TES or Fallout, I have always been unreasonably fixated on it. If I get detected, I will invariably reload my most recent save.

What the fuck? How do console fags put up with this?

I didn't find those, the fucking game just handed them to me after story events. I don't know if it's the translator trying to be a memer but the fucking last report just says "dummy" in all caps.

I can understand this. As a kid I used to feel that even if you knocked someone out they out wake up later and tell people. My fears came true when I played MGS.

It's the translator being a shit. I lucked out since I hate playing 3D games with only one stick. After suffering through Portable Ops, I just said fuck it and never bothered with the DS or PSP games for MGS or KH. I lucked out since most it them got ported. It's complete bullshit though, no doubt.

I'm usually okay with knocking people out (usually not killing them), though if so I get almost equally compulsive about hiding the unconscious bodies. I only occasionally bother to go for full ghost runs, i.e. no detection, KOs, kills, or impact of any kind other than the mission objective.

I save scummed the shit out of Stalker because it's a really scary game and it helped me feel safe

I generally try to adhere to a three strikes policy, if I die at a part 3 times i'll save before it so I don't keep having to waste time trekking back to the same spot.

wait actually I just googled save scumming and actually it's not what I thought it was. On Stalker I just made a brand new save every few minutes.

A game where I actually save scummed was Fallout 4. You couldn't see what your character would say before he said it, so I'd always save before conversations and if the guy says something completely different to what I was expecting/what i wanted to say, I'd go back and try again.

I see the real report now. I guess he didn't get to translate that part yet, I thought it was a mindfuck where the game makes fun of you for losing (but actually winning) a scripted fight. At least the movie scenes are in English so I can't miss those.

Yeah I'm suffering, I kept pushing the right stick and getting annoyed that the camera wasn't moving and would remap the keys for the first two days. I just plugged in my fightstick

1 might feel worse due to how magic is handled and that you're stuck with very few abilities. It'll be clunky, but easier ignoring come guardian. Each character in BBS plays differently. Terra hits hard, but is slow. Ventus is faster, but weaker. Aqua is only good for magic. It's about the same difficulty, but I agree that Ven's final boss fight is the worst, hands down. You're best off making deck commands like fire dash and filling it with them and heals. Getting all the stat boosts is helpful, but you might have to consult a guide to find some. I'd just get second chance and once more, assuming you have leaf bracer.

i'm replaying silent storm sentinels, and i was stuck on a total bullshit battle where my entire team's survival depending entirely on one clutch 35% panzerschreck shot on an enemy panzerklein. i saved and reloaded until i nailed the shot, because frankly i just didn't want to replay the two hours i had just spent on that mission

In fact I outright cheated by editing my save file the other day. I like to get one play though in a game, then do it "clean" on the next.

Save scummed the shit out of my single player Diablo 2 Classic Barb. Rerolled the imbue quests to supplement my gear with as good a set of rares as was feasible.

Technically save scummed to plat Bloodborne to avoid having to play through the game multiple times just for the separate endings.

Never SS'd when playing roguelikes though, didn't seem to appeal to me. Nethack's much more fun with a trial and error approach.

I did a backup save just before the 4 kings boss fight in dark souls because it was so annoying having to run all the way back and dodge all the ghosts just to start the fight again.

Every game with a save function because I'm getting old and don't want to sit though another 40 minutes of dialogue or running. Games nowadays are just movies with button presses anyways. It's never gameplay over story.

Save scumming is analogous to screwing yourself out of a long term reward in order to appease a short-term goal. You may think you're getting the best out of it when you do it, but in the end you're trading out a rich and unique experience in order to get what you really think is the "best" option.

save scumming is the number one killer of replayability. save scumming equals uniformity and lack of choice.

Nobody is made after a heartless (The heart) splits from the body, which if the person is strong enough, leaves a husk behind. If they were strong in life they retain their human forms, along with memories. They were told they couldn't regrow hearts, and would have to instead earn them by finishing Kingdom Hearts, but this is proven bullshit by 3D, Recoded, 358 and 2's prologue, and anyone understanding the Japanese trinity of mind/body/soul

Ventus' heart was dormant inside Roxas, so while it didn't do more than affect his appearance, it did give him the power to wield at least two keyblades

That wasn't actually Ansem, that was Xehanort pretending to be Terra pretending to be Ansem.

Master Zehanort stole Terra's body and became simply "Xehanort" and an apprentice to Ansem the Wise. Xehanort then became a Heartless, who stole Ansem's name, and created a nobody, Xemnas.

Yes I know I'm shit but the game felt slow to me and playing as Terra didn't make it any better, the pauses during his combos pissed me off. Is the game in fact slower than KH2 or is it just me? I'm jumping into 1FM now but I'll come back and finish BBS with the others later. I just need a break from it holy fuck.
Also what level should you be and skills should you have for each Final Boss in BBS?

How do I get to this level? Is there anything guides about movement and being fast?

Another thing that pissed me off was the fucking hitstun attacks. Bargs arrows, and most of Xehanort's moves.

I played the GBA one and didn't like it to much but I watched my cousin play 2 when it first came out and seeing the skyscraper part looked cool to me so I just played 2.

But yeah I'll play them in release order now and just double check if I feel I missed anything.

The final boss is supposed to cockblock every skill that is too strong.
Go back farming alchemy, get all the skills, find out what are the ones that give you most mobility, damage, while keeping the reload time short and your vulnerability time as small as possible.
All you need to unlock, realisticly, is git gud

I cant remember if it was OG Shadow Warrior on the second hardest difficulty or Corpse Party that I save scummed recently. Corpse Party though can get really retarded though since some dialogue options or even things you pick up/miss can and will fuck you over.

Rune Factory 4. The devs provide the frequent saves for a reason; you can get your ass easily torn off in a few frames if you're not careful.

Before that was XCOM2; the RNG is legitimate bullshit. I have no idea how people do Ironman runs.

There isn't gid gud to be had in BBS when spamming Surges is the only viable strategy against most late bosses and nothing has hitstun
