but that sounds fucking sick to whip around corners
/ogc/: Racing Vidya General - smug twingo man edition
I think it's less that Denovu is involved, more the always on bullshit that's keeping it from getting cracked. I bet the moment they release an offline mode it will get cracked. But honest the trial has put me off.
Some Nitpicks
>Restarting a race seems more like a mod that quits the current race and places you back at the event trigger That you need to trigger again
>Everyone is annoying Dude-bro Though Amy probably stands as one of the few Racing Game Waifus
But the real stuff that keeps me from wanting to drop 80 fucking dollars on it is
>The Always online means you're constantly paired with assholes I have two people head-on me during a race, though I'm only sure one was intentional and haven't even finished my 10 hour trial
They feel like a better version of Most Wanted '12 but it's still horrible. There's is pervasive sense of no control over you're car, it just kinda does what it wants with suggestions. It feels like a bad Ridge Racer game when you get into drifting, and Understeer Simulator when you go for grip. It's horrible all around.
So in all it's exactly what I though it'd be. Good Customization but shit physics. An Auto Modellista for the lattest Gen.
Also this Threads going Down!
Goyim, please add UltraMedicated on uplay shitty name i know if you play the crew
game doesn't run bad but doesn't run well either, it's weird that most games are either ocmplete shit or godlike but no the crew is right inbetween
My bet is on the server bit, no matter which DRM is used AFAIK there's no offline mode so a reverse engineered server is mandatory.
Also played a few hours and I do agree on most of these points.
Though I found the UI to be quite pleasant. You cite the vinyl editor as a shit bit of UI but I found it quite nice. No worse than old NFS vinyl editors, on par with the 2D editor found in like Black Ops 3. A few confusing bits, and the menu where you select which of the 150 rims by slowly scrolling through a list ordered by price, not brand, is a huge piece of shit.
It's not as much a timezone as the fact that each borough lives in a different space time continuum. Very annoying IMO, some parts of the town are only visible in rainy night while some others are only visible in slightly sunny post rain dawn for example.
You know it's funny because I got a head on during a race, but it was a bot not another player. Even if there was an offline mode you'd still have to deal with the roaming AI (like in NFSU2 for example). I did however try a race I was invited into and it was a mess. This game does the The Crew thing of badly mixing SP and MP so you never really know if you're racing your pals or if you should get together to beat the AI.
Got used to the physics after a few hours, I tried to remove the drifting aid but it just makes everything worse. As long as you drive smoothly it's okay. I'm half tempted to see if using a wheel removes the dampening, but I probably won't play more than 10 minutes without a dash or bonnet cam. Wheels in 3rd person are just ehhhh.
But the performance is just bad. The game is pretty, I'll give it that, but it runs pretty meh.
Overall a lot better than I thought it'd be. Certainly enjoyable. Definitely not worth the 60+ european fun bucks EA is asking for. On my 30 currency tops list.
Oh yeah also that starter Civic is broken in so many ways
so, a car bought off craigslist then
