So with this guy getting a game can we expect to see others as more DC movies come out?

I would love to see a game of Shazam, Flash or Green Lantern though they will probably all be shit.

I'd love to see a game where you play as an old wizard

If it isn't Silver Age Superman than it isn't going to be with worth much.

Also, a Flash game would be really cool and we almost got one.

On a semi-related note I found this hat and bought it today. Not really a hat guy but I thought this one was really cool… don't really know what I'll wear with it either.

There should be a Power Girl game where you beat up evil dudes and try to steal as much of their technology as you can without destroying it or letting them get away with their plans.

Or just a power girl fan porn game

For what purpose

has there ever been a good one?

top pleb

The couple of Sunsoft ones were OK, nothing that great.

You do know Superman was created by 2 jews right?

if theres one thing jews are good at its making things up

2 Canadian jews at that.

Okay, 1 Canadian jew.

still too much

Because it looked cool and I'm a superman fan, it also sort of has a Toku vibe with the Japanese lettering.

My friends said it suited me… but that I also looked like a vaping douche in it. I don't know how to take that.

...

Injustice isn't a Superman game user

I sure hope not. Comic book cash-ins are a plague on the vidya.

So was the first videogame user.

How so? There have been some really good cape vidya.

Aren't there tons of RPGs where you do that?

Pretty much any era of Superman would function similarly in a game. The only difference is that Silver Age Superman could pull planets around when he wanted to. Actually, modern Superman could probably do that too. But they choose not to most of the time. The player will want to do that, but it's unfeasible in most situations, so you might as well go with a Golden Age or Early Post Crisis level Superman who has lower limits but still enough to feel like Superman.

The series has been called Shazam since the '70s, even if the character only started being called that like four years ago.

It's amazing how so many casuals say this yet Watch shounen or Boku no hero Academia and don't realize it's the same shit if not worse.

although I do agree, most of it is shit.

He's implying that people shit on american series about strong guys/robots beating up other strong guys/robots, but love japanese series about strong guys/robots beating up other strong guys/robots.

:^)

I just meant in tone it would lend itself better. I don't think the character of Super-man was ever meant to be taken to seriously which is why a lot of people don't like him now or ironically like him.

Depends what you mean by that. Most of his early stories are the same type of fare you'd get in something like Batman or The Shadow. Despite saying he's an alien in his first appearance, very few sci-fi concepts come up over the next several years. Every once in a while you'll get a mad scientist, but Superman being an alien literally isn't even mentioned for at least five years after the first issue (that's how far I've read so far). Usually he's running around solving mysteries about gangsters and shit. I think you can take that kind of thing relatively seriously.

Plus, modern comics have plenty of silly sci-fi stories that you see for the cool sci-fi shit, but they also have a lot of stories where Superman is treated as a symbol or a god, and you are expected to take them seriously. Not at face value, but as serious discussions on the subjects that he represents to morality, the comics industry, etc.

But yeah, in a video game, I basically want to punch all the famous aliens that he usually fights in the comics. That's the main thing.

Green lantern: Mass Effect or KOTOR II clone
Wondy: Hack and Slash or God of War clone
Suicide Squad: Tactical Shooter

whoops, just got done reading some spider-man and I guess I let that leak over.

I think you should use the term "modern comics" a bit more loose considering Marvel is busy being the worst parts of tumblr and DC has gone full edge, but I get what you are saying. I suppose any of those era's you listed in your previous post could work just fine.

It's a shame the Superman game for the ps3 was canned… but anyways, this thread has got me wanting to read some Superman. I've heard Grounded is pretty good and I've been saving it. Guess I'll read that now.

Was it Doc Ock's first appearance, where he literally calls Spider-Man "Super-Man?"

I also wouldn't say DC has gone full edge. It's nowhere near '90s levels. Like they did Superman: Doomed, basically a sequel to The Death of Superman, but despite the absurd concept (Superman becomes Doomsday), it's played a lot lighter than the original Death of Superman. I mean still edgy, sure, but less than the original.

Also, Superman becoming Doomsday would be a cool level in a game.

That image made me physically laugh for the first time in a while.
