I know two people who own Xbones.
One of them works at a pawn shop and picked up the console plus controllers for $75. It's not something I'd do, but I can understand being drawn in by that kind of deal, especially when they had just come out.
The other one is one of the smartest guys I've ever known in my life and he really has his shit together. He's a total Halo fanboy and apparently plays Halo 5 for a professional team. I used to play with him about a decade ago, and I can definitely believe him being a pro.
As you can see, these are some pretty exceptional circumstances. I guess I'm glad I don't know any complete retards?
