The author of this poorly researched article is from Mexico.
Now he is going full retard, Wine is of course not perfect but the development is highly active. I have managed to get running several older games and a few newer games such as STALKER and they all work pretty good in Wine the only downside with is that some games need more fiddling while the others might need less fiddling but otherwise it works. Wine is reliable enough to get STALKER working considering its X-Ray engine is held together by duct tapes and glue. GNU+Linux newbies can use Lutris or PlayOnLinux to make this task simpler, which of course the author fails to write to its readers these programs exist and thus shows how much effort he put into his "Research". There is also WineHQ app database which has a lot of guides in how to get it running and test result, calling Wine as "Unreliable" and "Buggy" is nothing more but slander. Also GOG version can be used for Wine which tends to work better since those guys try to get those games working on a newer Wangblows version.
Yeah say it again, Pedro.
So what gives? Even if GNU+Linux development is slower than those Pajeets ""programmers"" at Microshit, newer updates happens frequently enough for the users to install, its not like you need to wait months in order to get new updates maybe for a few specific software which you would like to have updated but even then there are several solutions available for this case, such as compiling directly from source, adding a new package source, appimages, flatpak and snap, binary files and lastly changing the distribution which uses rolling-release for its software update such as Arch Linux which is made for experienced users or Manjaro which comes with several packages already installed and is thus a bit easier to use. But otherwise any distribution based on Ubuntu or Linux mint is sufficient. GNU+Linux has also the added benefits that you don't have to *restart your OS all the time just because of a few software updates which is something that Macroshit never bothered to fix it and instead made it even worse in Wangblows 10, which Pedro failed again to address it. So in other words there is a lot of solutions to get newer software updates, you are not forced to only use updates available via the software update manager.
*Restarting is needed if you want to use newer Kernel version since thats the whole thing running it.
There is also other computer type market share too Pedro. Such as servers and supercomputers, for supercomputers the top 500 is using Linux exclusively and in servers Linux is used a lot too. Only in desktop/laptop market share is it dominated by Wangblows next to MacOS and lastly Linux. But that is another issue which I don't want to cover it yet.
This user made already good point:
Maybe if you are trying to use Gentoo, Archlinux and what else as your first Distribution then of course it will be hard. Ubuntu and its variants as well Linux Mint is made for newbies but again if you are unwilling to learn how it works differently then maybe Linux as a whole is not for you.
Bullshit excuses, You can look up any videos in how to get a Linux Distribution installed which is pretty straight forwarded, the only part that is a bit more difficult is probably the partition part which if you are not reading carefully you can get your whole HDD erased. You can always buy a cheapish HDD/SDD or a USB stick and try installing Linux from there first before you decide to partition your main HDD if you are worried about that, you can also go so far to unplug your main HDD and plug in something else to install a Distro in it permanently. Also you can buy a ready to use Linux Distro which is available both in bootable USB and in DVD so you don't even need to create one if you don't know how. And lastly you can download a Virtual Machine program to test it from here first before doing any other major steps.
And now this Author even claims you need 20 years experience in order to gitgud at GNU+Linux, I am using Linux Distro just for like 3 years or so and I have yet to experience something that seriously pisses me off which would make me wish I would have sticked to pirated Wangblows instead.
