People rarely do things because they enjoy them any more, they do them because of social status. The Indie games market is a prime example of this, none of the hipster fucks care about vidya they just want an excuse to hang out and drink together.
When you have easy access to everything then nothing is left with value any more. People jump on anything with any depth for social cred which then removes the depth and the social cred and they continue to parasite from then onwards.
