That's has nothing to do with sovereignity. Switzerland signed into the Schengen Agreement years ago for crime-prevention and pan-european criminal prosecution.

Now the EU is planning to expanding this agreement and thus has to negotiate with all memberstates, including Switzerland.

The real swiss people are a mixture of Roman, Celtic and mainly german people. The reason we call ourselves Confederatia Helvetica (CH is our sign) is because we are to some parts descendants of a celtic tribes called the helvetics which is fromt the region between east france, north west germany.
