While your premise is interesting OP there are a few flaws with it.

Firstly, even though Satanism is itself not completely terrible when it is followed as intended, it tends to attract a certain undesirable crowd. Scale that up and inevitably you are going to get faggots and weirdos who turn the whole thing into a nightmare. Every religion has its wackos who take things too far or have bizarre interpretations and Satanism is no exception.

Secondly and most importantly you have confused cause and effect. Religion/ideology (or prime guiding belief if you prefer) does not by itself gain a foothold or popularity based on its own merits. Communism, Christianity, and Islam did not come to power solely because everyone thought they were such great fucking ideas. Rather, strongmen such as that one Roman emperor (in the case of Christianity), the warlord Mohamed (in the case of Islam), and Lenin (or whoever in the case of Communism) used human force and influence to foist their prime belief system onto the masses. Only then does it catch on in earnest and become a self-sustaining force that can grow on its own.

So to answer your question. It is literally as simple as this.

With enough power and influence you can force whatever belief system you want on the masses. Sure it might be a bit harder in this age because we now have some very entrenched beliefs with long histories, but even they could be replaced with sufficient force and influence.

The Nazis came close to doing so with their ideology and they were in fact even tried for attempting to 'destroy' Christianity by the allies kangaroo court.

A more successful example can be seen in the commies who despite all odds actually did succeed in overtaking religion as the dominant force in the soviet union. Giving proof to my previous statement that even old and entrenched beliefs can be replaced.
