* You could still get ahead if you grafted. The fucking bankers hadn't stuck their blood-sucking mosquito snouts into every last thing.
* Less diversity, and it wasn't pushed in your face as hard as today.
* Degeneracy was kept to the shadows, where it belonged.
* The pop culture was less homogenous and less easily available, and much less fucking pozzed. You could still have your little 'le secret club' of something that you and your m8 were interested in without half-an-hour-on-tvtropes-made-me-an-expert casuals waltzing in.
The 80s and 90s
Deep response I'm going to have to thing about all the points you raised.
I am I'm doing it with out nostalgia googles.
For me personally the 80s or 90s would be good enough (at least temporarily as a stepping stone).
100% agreed.
Maybe not 100% on topic, but something I've been thinking about lately is that it seemed like every decade up until the 1980's had it's own aesthetic. For example, I associate the aesthetic of the 1980's with neon lights and electronic music like in the video from OP.
I don't really have that sort of association with anything from the 1990's (much as I love them), the 2000's, or the CURRENT YEAR.
They did actually if you paid attention to them
And why do you keep posting music made after 2010 in your nostalgia thread.
And ice cream tastes better when your 10, I'm aware.
3 pics by accident and trips of 1.
The truth is clear, magic confirms
Again, it's not about nostalgia.
I took movies and magazines as a visual examples for the younger Holla Forumsacks who haven't lived through those times.
Good point, I'm drawing a blank as well.
Your wish I my command.
Hotline Miami > King of The Streets
It was a period of stabilization following a decade of marxism. Much of it was probably thanks to Reagan (even though he failed in the end).
