I don't think so. It is indeed true that many Japanese schools, especially Public schools, do at most marginal touching on WW2, and they indeed should stop being in a state of denial. But saying that nobody who is Japanese believes what was done by their Military in China, Malaysia, and Singapore is just inaccurate! There needs to be more coverage of WW2 in Japanese public schools as well as more of them willing to swallow their pride and learn to look at the Pacific theater in the face and say "we accept our mistakes." But I am at least a couple bits curious as to the extent of what their military at the time did and did not actually do to inhabitants of place like Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand.

The only "victims of significance" during WW2 were the jews, and the public's eye during the aftermath of the war was drawn towards them as victims and the nazis as the ebul bad guy.
To dedicate the same amount of time and resources into investigating the actions of the Japanese would not really be to the benefit of anyone "of significance", and therefore not of any importance.
