If you start porting stuff to other systems it starts making it so that there's less of a reason to be drawn to that one system over another if you can just find it elsewhere. It's not about wanting people to have less games, it's about wanting that specific system to have an appeal in the future for people which Sony sort of seems to have forgotten and Microsoft definitely has. It also means that there's less of a chance for sequels because it's not an exclusive brand anymore so they have less incentive to work on it with their first party groups.
