However, it's a huge spit in the face. Say what you want about the Martian itself, but if you are supposed to play a geek symbol in a reboot of a classic, you are not allowed to mock the same audience (that you claim to appeal to) in a movie a year prior.

It''s a direct example of how much spite and distaste they have for their audience. But we all knew that though.
