The source is the definition itself. "Wet" is defined as an object covered or saturated by a liquid, "Water" by definition is a liquid. If you have Water itself, it is wet by definition. No source necessary. Note the opposite isn't true if you have wetness it doesn't imply having water. You can change the definitions if you want to something not making "water wet" but then you are in a new paradigm with its own challenges.
