Absolutely based. He'll always have a special place in my heart for how seething he made Amerifats.
the one good ML state
I physically feel sick when i read about this kind of faggotry.
...
Reminder Castro was 6"3'.
He also had a good shot at playing pro-baseball for the Giants. He was the first Latino to ever turn down a pro-contact.
...
I'm not sure if it was the Giants now that I think about it but it was a pro-team. I read it in pic related
What about Comrade Miguel?
...
The team changes depending on who's telling the story, but it's always either the Yankees or the Senators (who are now the Twins).
There's conflicting reports on how committed he is to socialism, but liberals are scared shitless about him, so that's a good sign. it's all speculation until someone is actually in office. Remember that Gorbachev was speculated to be Andropov 2.0 and that Kim Jong-un was speculated to be a Dengist.
...
They are jumped up on idpol lad.

Cuba seems to be one thing that all leftists can agree upon. It’s also a perfect example on how to do anti-imperialism without resorting to supporting rightist regimes *cough* Assad *cough* .

Here's my attempt at making a reading list, since most Cuba threads seem to lack a deeper understanding of the Cuban revolutionary process and the theoretical developments related to it. The latter is a particularly interesting topic from which we can draw many conclusions, though what we can find is very little, on one hand due to the quick-paced, almost spontaneous character of the revolution, and on other hand since most of them are found on Ché Guevara's writings since he always had way more of an intellectual attitude than Fidel, who usually acted as more of an agitator and spokesperson of the Cuban people. However, the shortlived and frantic militant life of el Ché resulted in his written work being very little in size, and dispersed on brief essays and notes - he never on his lifetime published a book, though it is known he had the intention to write one: a extensive critique of the Soviet official manual of political economy, focusing on their reliance on the law of value in the lower transitional stage of communism (related links below - imo it is perhaps the single most significant aspect of his work). Please let me know if you have any suggestions or if you'd like to see more about a specific topic (for instance, I can't find any good sources in English about Cuban economic or government policy)

He may be gone but his legacy will live forever, brother.
OUT OUT OUT
Tbh, one of the best things I ever heard was during the 2017 election that "I don't know who to vote for, but man we need someone to turn the NHS into the shit Cuba has got: it's fucking sick." Legit made me smile. He knew about it because we did the Cuban healthcare system in geography
I haven't read it yet because i want to get a fuller background on Fidel's time first but it looks like to be the best read on contemporary Cuba
libgen.io
Starts out by pointing out how utterly btfo Bush was by saying it would collapse after Fidel retired.

Why do you believe Cuba was good, but no other ML states? The Cuban system is basically exactly the same as Khrushchev era USSR, as far as I understand (except they have been liberalizing their economy somewhat as of late).
Michael Parenti talked about this in some lecture I think. The "pure socialists" or "left anti-communists" always seem to be more forgiving of Cuba than the rest of the 20th century socialists, even though all those states implemented basically the same system (with a few exceptions).
Castro just like most other South American Socialists was basically just an Authoritarian Social-Democratic NatLib

will check them both out, thanks
