Why did USSR Fail?

Why did the USSR collapse? Also, why have most communist countries failed, like Venezuela?

Pics unrelated. Obviously.

OMG THAT'S A CUTE CATE
Btw venezuela is not communist.

How? Isn't literally everything socialized?

do the workers own the means of production?

youtu.be/rk1qlKu_RJo?t=1m58s

It is not.

No, theres 1/3 of the economy state owned, 1/3 workers cooperatives which are owned by the workers themselves and 1/3 regular private businesses

I don't know what do you mean by socialized but no. Socialism is when the means of production are in the hands of the worker and that leads to communism a statless money less society where to each according to his abilities and to each according to his needs

They had to outproduce the entire rest of the world or else face nuclear annihilation, or so they thought.

No freedom of speech or meaningful elections meant that the status quo couldn't be questioned; also, resources were pissed into the military instead of anything useful
Too small, too short on resources

The "bazaar" model for open source software development is unironically how the dictatorship of the proletariat should be run

Nice ironic tankie flag, based anarchist comrade!

a small number of developers working their asses off, and a horde of entitled retards bitching that their pet bug wasn't solved yet? really made me think.

This….actually explains it to me that I can understand, and I'm somewhat embarrassed to say that.

Got anymore "socialism/communism for dummies" type memes?

This meant for u
Also why did it fail?
Venezuela failed because the oil priced flopped as fuck and the nationalized part of the economy was really only that.
The urrs failed for a lot of reasons:
1. Military spending and funding other socialist states/revolutions
2.Economy stagneted becausr the rest of the world went full libertarian

Everyone was drunk on vodka all the time, since they were partying all the time and had nothing to live for in a Communist System, except the Christians and Jews there. They were the only ones holding the USSR all together until its final collapse, since they were the only ones not drunk all the time.

But I think the idea of simultaneous global revolution doesn't make sense and the way to do it is Socialism in One Country

I also think it's not really a problem to be concerned with if parts of the regime decide to cling to social conservative spooks

No? Where did you hear this? They obviously have private property. Anyway, if you're interested in learning what the Soviet Union was then read this. libcom.org/library/what-was-ussr-aufheben

The USSR failed imo due to Nikita Khruschev liberalizing the economy and causing inefficiencies in resource allocation when needed within the country. This, introduced with the deaths of many revolutionary elements of the Bolshevik Party during WW2 and the Purge respectively created a petty-bourgeois and self-serving mentality amongst later members of the Communist Party. This led to bourgeois ideology to erode any semblance of class struggle as the forefront of the country's interest.

Traitors. They were doing quite well until they were sabotaged by the wannabe porkies in their ranks.

Stalin might have been a fucking autocrat that made some hard decisions but at least the USSR BTFO the nazis and went from starving farmers to cosmonauts and became strong enough to put a check on western hyperporkies. But those traitors that led to its collapse were just fucking vultures that never did anything and betrayed everything and profited from bringing about mass misery.

...

USSR failed because it stagnated over time and allowed bureaucrats to take over the party structure along with the self-serving nature of the party bureaucracy which created political elites more interested in persevering their own power than building any kind of socialism. Even while the majority of people in the Soviet Union preferred the USSR to remain intact politicians used faux populism and nationalism to breakaway and become independent nations under the mistaken belief that they would be better off as independent states.
Venezuela is failing because the oil market shit the bed and you can't run a successful welfare state unless you benefit from imperialism, which is something a third-world latin american country can never do.

...

The revolution took Russia from a backwards feudal backwater into a major power that industrialized, defeated the enemy invaders, went into space, etc. But it failed due to corruption and stagnation. As for Venezuela and other third world countries, generally they have been under American imperialist assault which is too hard for them to resist as smaller countries.

I don't know, but what I do know is it's totally not because of socialism. Because socialism is infallible.

why are north koreans starving?why dont they just produce more food?

I don't think you know what socialism is. Maybe you should try going outside and socializing.

Are they starving?

Venezuela isn't even socialist, with most of their industries still privatized.

Just a reminder, Saudi Arabia and even Alaska have state-owned oil companies, and the biggest company in Chile is state-owned.
