Their minds revolve around this structure, which might entail total control over his inferiors, whether in the public or private sphere. In the public one, the monarchs and oligarchs had to give a few inches to the people demanding enfranchisement, but the private sphere remained untouched. Thus even in a democracy, a family man would have control over his wife and daughtrs' bodies. By now, that particular barbarism has been worn out be the liberal superstructure, but of course, some in the right yearn to have that hierachical muh privilege back.
