but Assad actually dropped barrel bombs on suburbs and I watched the videos and could clearly tell they were SAA Air Force helicopters dropping the barrel bombs. And there are extensive pictures of dead Syrians from gas attacks in those suburbs (unrelated to the villages where the FSA did a similar gas attack). Assad has confirmed used chemical weapons before and so did his Baathist counterpart Saddam Hussein. Its not even remotely debatable or implausible. The question is whether this instance is real. Idk but I think it may be due to his character.

What I mean is that I don't believe this DoD scientists' intentions are good or free of interests. So I refuse to believe what he says at face-value I already saw this report on twitter and after a day of thinking about it I don't believe him at all. Just like I don't believe 9/11 truthers who think the towers were bombed instead of destroyed with planes.

I don't believe that the U.S government has good intentions in general. And since 99% of the government is saying that this is a "real attack", it is obvious that they are lying to disguise their dreadful intentions.

False comparison. The United States has a long history of using false flag operations to instigate wars. The United States has long stated its intention to overthrow Assad. The United States has funneled weaponry to the terrorists and has a clear and concrete material interest in starting a war. Finally, the U.S. does not care about civilian casualties, since its been only a few decades since they turned Vietnam into one giant extermination oven.
Given its past actions, there is no reason not to believe that the U.S. wouldn't stoop to "encouraging" the gassing of a few civilians in order to get its way.
