greece's government is de facto the troika. everything gets dictated by the troika and if syriza doesn't obey them the troika fucks greece over completely. yes they have the power to do that, greece's future would be uncertain and the living standad would dramatically decrease. syriza knows this very well.
moreover, the troika is extra hard to greece under syriza in order to state an example and discredit leftist politics. it worked, you obviously fell for it as is the greek population currently.

I feel really disappointed with Syriza tbh, like what are they even doing there. Their political impotency just make it look to the rest of the world that a more or less "far" left-wing party can literally change nothing. Could've as well sat in their armchairs instead of participating in elections.

no, syriza couldn't. it would have lead to a catastrophe for greece and other european countries as well. iceland doesn't use the euro, it is geopolitically unimportant in comparison to greece and why iceland got away with what their banks pulled is still a mystery to me. iceland was actually bancrupt in 2008.

there was no point for syriza, sadly. syriza in government is still not powerful enough in geopolitical context. the election victory was great and as a fellow comrade i was very happy about it (i'm german, by the way) but poisoned from the very start, because of the critical condition greece was in at that very moment, which syriza was not responsible for at all.
they do a lot to mitigate austerity effects and to keep the current living standard for the greek people, but they can do only so much. and no, greece leaving the euro and the eu would neither benefit the greek people nor other europeans in the long run.

i think a haircut would be best indeed, however jlm would have to deal with the same powers syriza has to deal with and face opposition of all neoliberal governed countries in europe and the world plus face players such as the imf, ecb etc. that's not going to be an easy task, to say the least. i wish that jlm wins the election, but even the president of france has only limited powers in a world that is essentially ruled by international capitalists and oligarchs.
