Hiding your power level

How do you hide your power level around normie friends and family

I live with a bunch of liberals and it's really hard to not sperg out about commie shit whenever I hear them talking politics

pic unrelated

I don't, I just don't use posho words like bourgeois and proletariat and actually speak like a normal person.

...

...

I didn't mention it in the beginning because I wasn't knowledgeable enough. Once I knew more I could start arguing for why capitalism is shit and why communism would work. I didn't go out of my way to bother people about my ideology, however, if the topic came up I would argue my case, and point out the flaws in other's arguments. People aren't coherent so it becomes easy once you get the hang of it. Just remember that you shouldn't engage in 2v1 discussions. The opponents won't budge their position when in front of like minded people and will resort to mockery. Also, don't sperg about it when you want to find a job.

It's super fucking easy dude wtf are you talking about. I just say I'm a left leaning centrist, and I bring up radical left talking points under the guise of playing devil's advocate

My entire immediate family knows I don't listen to authority.

I don't. My friends have shown appreciation and some of my family have as well so I don't mind.
This is different from the internet where everyone gets mad about it.

just sperg out

All the people around me talk about the most mundane shit imaginable while my mind revolves around convoluted philosophical, economic, mystical issues. I've gotten used to talking in a way that resolves the conversation as quickly as possible, because of how impossible it is for me to relate to the normal topics. 99% of the time I'm totally silent and the rest is just the basic yes/no/please/thanks set.

I don't want to be arrogant about it and think of myself as somehow "above" but I must at least acknowledge that we're concerned about totally different things. So basically just the usual defenses of an autist

Swap a few marxist terms around for more normie friendly terms
It tend to do the trick

I just say "I'm a leftist, not a liberal or a conservative - those are two heads of the same beast and it's fucking you." I assume they think I'm a succdem for the most part but some of my friends lowkey know I'm a commie. One even has started slipping commie speak into normal conversation, like "bourgies" or "means of production," which is pretty funny since the other friend we hang out with tends technocrat and I think he's kind of miffed that I'm a commie. He and I have argued about communism vs. capitalism without using any of the buzzwords, but both of us knew damn well what we were talking about. It's still that stigmatized here in the US. We knew a tankie in high school who was always trying to turn us, and that turned us both off a lot. I would have looked into communism years earlier if not for that guy, because every time I considered doing it I thought of him and said fuck it.

You are a fucking autist dude. People don't talk about that shit in daily conversations because you aren't supposed to. Try not being a social retard

I remember being 10.

I just try to present my views in the least provocative way possible. Instead of "WE MUST DISMANTLE THE STATE BECAUSE IT IS AN INHERENTLY VIOLENT AND UNJUSTIFIED HIERARCHY." I say, "Maybe small groups of people shouldn't be trusted with power over large groups of people. There are actually some alternatives to the centralized state. There are ways we could organize society, where power is distributed across multiple institutions. Here, read this totally not communist essay about err… labor economic theory??"

Y'all need to find some more intelligent friends. They are certainly the minority but I've found a solid handful of people that are perfectly happy talking about political philosophy and economic theory at every hour of the day.

No shit
Good argument

Not every hour, fuck's sake, just capable of understanding it is good enough

I envy your ass. Most people I know are stuck on "status quo is human nature". I've known too many people who start to get seriously upset if I point out that social constructs are different from universal laws. Pretty sure burger education is at fault here.

Sounds spooky m8

My family is all UFO conspiracy theorists and antisemites, they are actually fine with leftist ideas if you frame them the right way

Like having them read J. Posadas?

My normie social life is already long gone.
I tried to play the normie stuff, and it didn't work out.
I don't know who started it, them or me.
Now I'm just different.

But the other day a guy high up in finance in a famous bank invited me to play guitar.

Around several people he will show his own power level, especially when drunk, like saying he didn't give a fuck about Greece's krisis, that they were already making money on their fall anyway.

With me and/or when not drunk, he will downright refuse to say what he does exactly in finance.
All we know is he's rich and lives in a glorious postcode.

I know I should hate him, but apparently he hates his job.

Once I fucked an interview to work reception in a hotel because I had written "contriboots to wikipedia" in my leisure and pastime resume field.
Manager asked if I was an admin on wikipidia.
Nope.
- What do you contriboot, for example?
- Well, for example I corrected the biography of our country's great Rabbi, who lied about his degrees.
- So, did this bring you personal pleasure?
- hmm, idk… What do you mean pleasure? He lied and I corrected it with the truth
- So, did you enjoy it?

(…)

- ok, very good! I'll brief my supervisor, and if there's a need, we'll call you!
- thank you, goodbye Sir.

Disgusting normie

...

...

This made me laugh.

honestly this is your average anarchist

haha the ahole actually never called me.
Next time I'll mention how I edited a page about Spinoza's conception's of happiness and felicity.

there's like, actually no need. i can get a bunch of normies to unironically agree with me if i just talk like a normal person and explain things to them without a bunch of jargon.
it turns out, even most young americans are down with some pretty far left stuff, as long as you don't drop the name marx or communism/socialism

Not American, but I guess Bernie probably helped in the USA.
Also the Occupy / 1% movement, triggered by Thomas Piketty's book about Capitalism in the XXIst Century (afaik)

You guys in the USA have a terrible level of inequality…

oh yeah, it's fucking insane how bad it is. a lot of people who grew up in my generation can't even defend it at this point, unless you're a classcuck, but those are actually relatively few and far between.
i honestly think the time is ripe for a true socialist movement to take off

51% of millennials are opposed to capitalism and when this is brought to the attention of politicians the response is "Well we're capitalists. That's just the way it is." It's going to come as a shock to whatever members of the current old guard are still alive at that point.
