He used to be a far-right nationalist in 90s but now he's some conservative populist who loves European Union. He is only politican in Serbia who is openly supported by both Germany and Eu and Russia, he often goes to meetings with Angela Markel and Putin. Main reason why so many poeple voted for him is because they see him as a "stabilizing factor" and some great leader or something like that.

A list of demands was agreed on today by protesters from various cities of the country (including all the main ones).

The list has an intro that states that the groups do not side with any of the current opposition parties. It states that for over three decades [do the math ;) ] this country lacked a mass movement that stands for the interests of the downtrodden layers of society.

The demands are split into two groups.

First group demands the removal of the entire political elite, and basically demands:
-Fair and free elections (asking, among other things, for the resignations of the heads of electoral commissions)
-Freedom of the press (asking, among other things, for the resignations of the heads of the state TV)
-Departisation (removal of leaders placed in public companies through party lines)
-Decentralisation

Second group demands the change of priorities of economic and social policies (I'll basically translate the entire demands):
-Protection of the rights and improvement of the status of all the workers - changing the labour law in order to improve the status of the workers; safeguarding their rights and urgently raising the minimum wage. Active fight to protect the black market workers, seasonal and other workers hit by the harshest ways of exploitation.
-Protection of the standard of living - abolishing the unlawful reductions of pensions and pays, reform and improvement of the welfare system, agrarian reform and subsidies for village households, revision of current agreements with IMF, and the banning of any further privatisation of public companies.
-Completely free and universally available education and healthcare.

I'll quote the relevant parts of the actual demands:

Revision of the list of voters, removal of the members of the voting commission, equal access to the media for all the candidates, severe punishment of buying of votes and blackmailing people into voting, making a TV duel obligatory, making the financing of election campaigns publicly visible.

Removal of the responsible editors of media televisions. Punishment of all media editors that work against media laws and the Codex of the journalists of Serbia.

Devolution of power to local assemblies, direct elections for local assemblies (not much more was said regarding this).

Tbh even this is remarkably left in modern-day Serbia. I'm trying to look at this as a beginning of a leftward shift. It should also be noted that all of the right/far right wing parties (so, excluding the usual center-right parties) managed to score less than 10% of votes in the last elections.
