Just to give some context, Zizek makes hyperbolic and outrageous statements in order to make a point about the current state of the left. When he says "Castro should be forgotten" he's making the point that the modern left spends too much time living in and romanticizing a past which is long gone, so they instead should turn towards the future and create something totally new. Cuban socialism has been dead for decades, so why keep propping Cuba up as a country to admire in its current state?

A the end of the day Zizek is a social gadfly who'd only desire is to provoke debate. In the '80's, in Yugoslavia he was an anti-communist dissident, in the '90's to 2000's a revolutionary Marxist, and now he seems to be making some rather "Right-Hegelian" liberal arguments, but still sprinkled with some Marx. Either way, he's still an interesting thinker with tons of insights. Leftists shouldn't avoid him just because he makes reactionary arguments, they should read and engage with as many ideas and perspectives as they can, while ruthlessly critiquing them all along the way.

It is so that people with actual critical thought start using their brains to come up with new ideas. He doesn't care about the backlash of petty liberals. Neither does he care about leftists who LARP all day but wouldn't dare to participate in a proper revolution if it presented itself today. Read his books if you want, and try to understand his perspective and take with you whatever you deem worthy.
