Also re: independence, some separatist group in Boston capitalized on all the trump hate and organized a big demonstration for tax day about tax strikes. Not sure if people have no idea who organized it or what, but they managed to get like 10k or so people saying they were going

Tbh I think that the whole of New England needs a separatist movement to create a new country from all the states in New England. I honestly hope that your group has somewhat of a success even if you all are a bunch of Massholes.
New Jersey is definitely part of the North East, but it's not New England so probably no. Though if the thread was about all of the North East then I must admit that the Amish in Pennsylvania are kind of communist even though it's not the kind of communism we're aiming for.

Also we should have the entire Eastern Coast break from the corrupt system of the US. Here in NC we have on of the larger Military bases of Fort Bragg and Pope Air Force Base. We got plenty of guns haha!
