After hearing how fucking amazing this game is for years from both people here and friends I finally had a chance to try it and I'm real fucking disappointed.

Now this would be fine, GTA4 did the same exact thing, however the shooting in Saints Row feels so unresponsive and mediocre. Not to mention the almost complete lack of interesting setting for the vast majority of the missions.
A perfect example of this is the mission where you have to shoot up a chinese casino and you just stand around killing wave after wave of enemies. Just the most boring shit I've ever played.

These feel like they're straight up padding for people not to realise there might not be that much actual content to the game. And you know, some are kind of funny, like the one where you spray shit on buildings, but goddamn even that gets old real quick.

These are my main gripes with it. Smaller things are the map feeling really empty, the cars handling all very similarly. Pretty much anything related to gameplay I have a problem with.
Which is a fucking shame because I love the characters, the production the cutscenes clearly had and just how much fucking attention was put into character customization. Seriously I was not expecting something that extensive from a game that came out in 2008.

I don't know, I'm just kind of disappointed all around. I don't really even want to finish it, I'm just having absolutely no fun with it and it feels like a chore to play though so far. I've actually been playing it with my friends that really love it, however even they were kind of disappointed by it and it didn't seem like it lived up to the memories they had of it.

Has anyone that loves Saints Row 2 replayed it recently and can objectively say it's just as good as they remembered?

...

I wouldn't usually, but it wasn't just Holla Forums this time

It was good for its time
It was ugly and janky, but had absurd amount of customization and crazier plot and characters than in concurrent GTA games so people like.
It doesn't hold up today, unless you really prefer dress up to gameplay.

Yeh it's an overrated meme.

The only reason why people play any Saints Row is the co-op.

game is terrible and full of niggers. I actually bought into the meme too years ago and bought the trilogy on sale. Worst purchase I ever made.

Sounds like you fucked up by not picking the British voice option. You have nobody to blame but yourself.

Game is fun but is full of fucking niggers and other minorities. Yakuza running squads of white dudes and spics. What the hell.

I enjoyed SR2 for its tone. It was crazy, but not LOLSORANDUMB shit like 3 and 4. The gangs were better than 3 too (though I admit I kinda liked 3's idea of Specialists who come in when you reach high enough notoriety).

It's not like 2 is much better in that regard, what with its penny arcade vans and such.

I don't like niggers neither, but what the fuck did you expect? Also
There's not even that many, grow a fucking pair.

If you can kill them it's fine anyway.

The love for Saints Row 2 comes mostly from it being the right game at the right time.

When GTA4 was came out I tried giving it a shot but found everything alittle too realistic and slow (I'm sure now that i'm a more patient person I'd like enjoy it a little more now) Saints Row 1 was was the only alternative to GTA and it felt more fast paced fun to allot of people. Then Saints Row 2 came out and did everything the first game did, but better, and your custom character who was silent for 99% of the last game, was now a full voiced Bad Ass and the leader of your gang which you built up again from the ground up. It's was very empowering to go from a whole game as an average Thug who was good at taking orders, to a whole game as the guy giving those orders.

Now the Gameplay of SR 1 and 2 is dated and "not as good as you remember it being" But people still cherish those moments in the story that nobody saw coming. Newer Saint Row games actual took steps to improve gameplay, but it was at the cost of an actually engaging story.

Webm related isn't really how the player was in the first game being "mostly" silent protagonist, but it defiantly for shadowed your personalty in the 2nd.

The problem with the game is it does the early 2000s "ethnically mixed gang thing" to a tee, which post BLM reads very fucking stupid. God, and the entire character of Pierce, the only competent one is the ghetto nigger. Luckily they turn him into a useless faggot in the sequels.

weeaboo pedophiles gassed live on tv, when?

Yeah. I played it again 6 months ago and still had plenty of fun with it.
I wonder what you're doing differently that keeps you from enjoying it whereas I love playing it.

I want to say you're just spoiled by modern games, but apart from the gunplay this game is considerably better than the majority of modern games. I vehemently disagree with you about the setting being uninteresting. Every part of the map is distinct and vastly different from other parts of the map.
In Saints Row 3 for example the map was bad and I couldn't tell what generic neighborhood I was in half the time, but I never had that problem with 2.

Its a fuck ton better in that regard. Most if not all of the wacky random garbage is left in side missions where it belongs.

I've heard that argument before and its false.
You do some absolutely clown retarded shit in the main story in 2.
3 is just more focused on that with less customisation but better gameplay.
Ditto for 4.
Tbh the entire franchise is kinda shit, and good only if you want to have some godfather parody with GTA gameplay going on.

Attached: 2013-08-05_00033.jpg (1920x1080, 246.67K)

Such as? When you make an argument could you actually try to give examples and back it up and not just say shit?

It was years ago, one thing I remember is locking dude down in monster car trunk and going into even with it so he turns into minced meat over some joke he made about you.
The entire thing was far from serious, and gameplay was seriously shit.

For the record you locked a dude in a regular car trunk and drove over it with a monster truck. And it was considerably more than a joke. Sounds like you don't remember the game. Even still how is killing someone by stuffing them in a car trunk and running them over with a monster truck "clown retarded shit"?

You're both wrong. You put one of the rival bosses' girlfriends in a trunk of a car, then he runs her over by accident.

Which you organized to happen, to clarify.

Ah, yeah, that's what happened. And it was because the rival gang leader had dragged to death the man who helped you get out of jail and was the only one helping you when everyone else abandoned you, right?

I agree. This game is shit. I have much fonder memories of playing the first Saints Row. It's multiplayer modes were some of the best ever made. I use to feel that because SR1 was console exclusive (on a shit console) and SR2 was multiplat is a huge part of the reason why people pretend SR2 was actually good when it wasn't. Sour grapes.

Yeah, they fag drag Chico or whatever his name is and force you to mercy kill him.

So pretty much the same crazy shit you do in SR3. Plus purple dildos that trigger feminists.
It's SR4 that went full bananas with aliens and matrix.

Sounds like pretty standard gangster shit to me. Again, how is that "clown retarded shit"?

Also:

Nah this was played completely straight and for drama. The other two arcs are the comedy ones, with the Yakuza and the niggers.

How about you go on and post some SERIOUS example from SR2?
For once in SR3 at some point you get a choise
That was some heroic shit right there. I don't remember SR2 giving me such feelings of brotherhood.

God you are a total faggot.

Yes or no motherfucker?

We just gave one. Chico's death was impactful and if it wasn't for you then it's because you played the game a decade ago when you were 5 and didn't care that the man who saved you from prison and was constantly loyal to you died in one of the most painful ways possible. Stop acting like a nigger.

Also:

Honestly though this whole "3 is as serious as 2" shit is a gay retard slapfight. They're both ridiculous games, 3 is just also a shit game where a lot of what makes a good open world game was removed and replaced with set-piece missions that feel too on rails to be enjoyed.

But it is.

A U T I S M

you are a nigger, also who got

Attached: Saints Row 2 vs Saints Row 3_ A SR4 Wish List 1.webm (782x440 6.68 MB, 6.9M)

You chose between saving a old friend or killing some irrelevant nigger. Who cares about that masked guy? Can't even remember his name.

Attached: Saints Row 2 vs Saints Row 3_ A SR4 Wish List 2.webm (711x400, 4.94M)

Are you memeing me?

Attached: Bill_Wilson-0.jpg (716x768, 78.82K)

But that was one of the really well made moments in the game. If you want some retarded shit, then the mission where you steal radioactive waste and replace it with the rival boss' tattoo ink is what you should have mentioned.

Let's also not forget when you switch his tattoo ink with nuclear fucking waste and burn him from the inside out. 10/10.

Burying the yakuza guy alive was also pretty good.
Sons of Samedi was probably the weakest story lines though.

Okay a couple of things to enjoy SR2:

The biggest, wackyist shit that happened in SR2 was the samedi mission where you had to kill Mr. Sunshine and he turned out to be a voodoo using, practically unkillable asshole. I'll admit that's pretty fucking goofy but it's pretty much out of left field and there's nothing even coming close to that, even in the side-missions. Still, the game is littered with serious moments (Aisha's death, burying Shougo alive, making the brotherhood leader kill his own gf, breaking that guitarist from the Feed Dog's hand, The General taking Mr. Sunshine's ear…)

I like the mission from the Sons where you go around a neighborhood blowing every drug lab up. It gives characterization to the Boss because when you're all done, you start seeing the devastation you caused and the Boss exclaims something around the lines of "What have I done."

I don't remember that part to well but SR2 has been on my list to replay again.

What is Aisha's death and burying Shogo alive when he crashes the funeral. Even the pothead Sons of Samedi had their boss cut off Mr. Sunshine's ear off for failing him.

That series is a cheap, dirivative and poorly designed piece of shit.

You don't seem to get that having violence doesn't make something less of a comedy.

You're such a fucking retard. You clearly don't remember SR2 at all, that is if you played it in the first place.

What was comedic about the Yakuza arc? That was the most serious arc of the three. Its all about a spoiled but ruthless little shit who ruins his dad's gang with his brash decision making and then tries desperately to make it up to his father. There was nothing comedic about Aisha's death or burying Shogo alive either, they were both treated as rather serious moments.

The interest of the game has really nothing to do with the main story or the side quests. It has to do with the world of Saints Row 2 and the tiny little details around every corner. The map although small has a lot of variety, in which you can go to a trailer park, to a ghetto, to a industrial haven, to a suburb, to a commercial district and so on and so forth. Say what you will about the game itself, but you cant say its bland in its environments. At least for its time. Take Skyrim, GTA 4 and 5, Just Cause 4, Far Cry series, etc. The world feels so fucking bland, in which shit feels copy pasted and there is literally no difference between areas. It saps the exploration value of the game, which is the MAIN purpose of an Open world title. When you go to explore shit you want to find something unique and interesting, not the same fucking thing you saw miles ago.

In short, the focus of Saints Row 2’s reputation is its rewarding for exploration through offering unique experiences and sights to see. You don’t get that much if at all even now.

Seriously, why do people even like Saints Row? There was only one good entry in the series, and it's only remembered because GTA IV wasn't what people wanted it to be. Not only that, but it was a complete accident and the developers had no idea how to recreate it, hence the trash that followed.

Attached: Deckers.jpg (1035x1600, 713.62K)

If you can't enjoy the small things that Saints Row 2 did, then you are what's wrong.
Just go give Rockstar another 60 bucks for another Shark Card. Sign up for another season pass from Gearbox or Square Enix or just kill yourself. All of your options suck in this regard.

Upon reading this thread - the fags in this current iteration of Holla Forums are absolutely cancerous. Jesus, I honestly can't believe that are people that prefer Saints Row 3, aka "we removed all the content, we removed all the customization options and we replaced it with DLC" the game in this thread

When he shows up in Saints Row 4 and makes a cameo in Gat Out of Hell newfags didn't even get the joke. Hell, it's the only running gag that survived the faggot injection of the series.

It took 56 replies before someone who isn't completely braindead to reply.
I include myself as braindead because I played through Gat out of Hell , Saints Row 3 and Saints Row 4, including all the fucking DLCs.

Saint's row was always a shit meme.

Just look at where the saint's row franchise is right now compared to GTA. Saint's row is dead in the water for good reason.

Agreed. This thread looks like a raid. I've never seen anons be this obnoxiously critical about SR2.

Jesus fuck

Did play the first one, never played 4 because 3 was too much cancer

There's just some weird contrarian streak in some people here that makes them feel the need to loudly declare that any game popular among Holla Forums must be shit. It's not even a raid or anything, unless you could cuck/v/ tricking in over the last couple months.

You can see it happen in real time, too. Take that Half-life thread for example. It used to be that HL2 was fairly well liked, then suddenly "HL2 always sucked" starts growing stronger until it's overwhelming, and you saw a lot of "HL2 sucks but the first is okay." And now a chorus is chiming in, "HL1 has always sucked." God knows how many other examples there are. I've seen the reverse happen only once: Halo used to be mocked for being babby's first FPS, but then the children who would later infest Holla Forums grew up playing it and changed the majority opinion.

Some people just need to feel special, I guess.

inb4 younger generations who grew up only with the nogamestation4 and the xboxnogames start to infest the sight and pretend this generation was anything aside from trash.

Holla Forums has become so detached from normalfag gaming "culture" that we've started eating ourselves. That said, this board does have a long and storied history of bitching about absolutely everything, so it's not too surprising that posters would eventually turn on the few things they like.

Attached: 1301201711872.gif (463x634, 8.79K)

Fuck you OP, the game has GREAT story that manages to mix a little drama with humor and style and a lot more customization than GTA or even other Row games after it.

Not everyone you disagree with is a contrarian hipster-kun.

Consider suicide.

Despite being mostly just an over glorified add on to Saint Row 3, SR4 did have a level dedicated to Saints Row 1 and even if it's not actually that great, I still appreciate the fact they put something in the game that would actually have some meaning to people who've been playing since the beginning, When they could have easily just made the whole game without acknowledging SR1 at all.

that doesnt mean shit. This does not mean that they care about original fans, they just want to cash in on nostalgia points.

Oh yeah, i'm not saying that the level actually makes up for anything. I just wanted to mention it if people who didn't play SR4 were curious.

yeah but this was a pretty big argument back then when SR4 got released. The faggy anons who bought it used that as a justification.

You were supposed to play it LAN with a friend while you were both teenagers.

Attached: face3.jpg (377x347, 49.64K)

Of course they did, nobody wants to admit they bought into the hype an ultimately got a game that isn't that great.
The level was effective in making you think that what you experienced in the first 2 games still mattered, when it really didn't at all anymore. I mean at the time I thought this level was an awesome callback, and it was by far the most memorable part of the game, but really it's nothing deeper then "Hey remember Saints Row 1"

I just find it interesting to think about how my few changed, I really liked SR 3 and 4 at the time, but then realized how shallow they really are.

People liked it at the time because they were still nostalgic for a GTA: San Andreas. Saints Row 2 was essentially GTA:SA2.

You probably didn't like it anymore because GTAV filled that role.

The worst part is that in Saint's Row 4, under all the shit, there's actually a solid superpower mechanic.

I seriously hope you're baiting OP
This was the GTA IV we deserved at the time

The super powers where fun, but it was ultimately just Prototype/Hulk Ultimate Destruction but not as good.

Gee, you think he's baiting?

the problem is that gunplay is complete shit which overwrites all of its positive traits, and the pc port is shit.

people liked it because it was like a sequel to gta sa when gta iv changed everything

honestly complaining about a game about criminal gangs being filled to the brim with minorities is retarded, i can only criticize it for including majority white gangs in both the first and second games

your character should pretty much be the only white non-antagonist in the entire storyline if you choose to make him white

Attached: niggerized warthog.jpg (400x300, 12.69K)

nobody ever praised hl2 aside from reddit where you belong

It's not my video; it was the only one of the scene I could find that wasn't garbage framerate.

Fuck off with that garbage, this board isn't one person.

Attached: 1472085079728.jpg (1080x920, 193.82K)

Do you not understand what a synecdoche is?

The random wacky shit in 2 was at least well executed. It was just the right amount contrasting with the urban crime setting that made it fun, and there was a lot of it. 3 on the other hand was built off LOL LOOK HOW WACKY WE ARE from the start in all its fucking advertisement and it was highly devoid of content. Not to mention Steelport was a shit repetitive location lacking the diversity of Stilwater (grey city everywhere vs. high end business districts, grimy projects, red light district, casino around the beach, redneck trailer park, middle class suburbia, factories and docks and so on).

False

I could've handled the over abundance of randumb whacky shit in SR3 if it wasn't for the severe lack of content and story missions.
I still remember my first time playing the game being forced to continuously play side-quests. I thought it was just some kind of extended tutorial designed to introduce me to the side-missions, until we killed the main bad guy and I realized I was half-way through the game.

There were no majority white gangs in the second game. The Samadi were black, the Ronin asian and the Brotherhood were supposed to be Latin? Not sure on them. Each of them had some white members but only SR1 had a majority white gang.

Suck a dick.

Who the fuck does this to themselves?

This user has an idea, it went full reddit at about SR3.

They're all pretty much random races, only the leadership is consistant, but the Brotherhood is just trailer trash, not specifically spics, despite being total cholos.

Posts like this should lead to an immediate lifetime ban from the site. What a fucking faggot.

...

Go try to lump users of a different website together you fucking commie

What Happened to Saints Row really does make sense when you think about it.

SR1 was just a GTA clone that filled the void between GTA SA and GTA4, but while being a clone it still had an identity of it's own, and the character customization got the player invested since it made them fell like an active part of the world, that plus the ending while a complete flub, still hooked everyone people into a sequel.

SR2 was just a bigger and better SR1, which due to the ending of SR1 lead the story into a very interesting direction, while the Saints were lead by Julius in the first game, Due to your character waking from coma everything was at even a further back state then it was at the start of SR1, you had to become the new Leader and build the Saints up again from square one, with only the help of Johnny Gat, while clearly being the fan favorite in the first game, he's now the only character who didn't die or stab you in the back, he's pretty much your best and only friend.
By the end of SR2 you now have everything, due to SR1's flub ending any plans anyone on the team could have had for the world went out the window. and while this lead to a great sequel there was no where to realistically go from here. but this series was bringing in the dough for Volition so of course they kept making them.

SR3 was about going even more over the top, since their was no way the could make the story grounded anymore, the Saints Row game loop is to always start from square one because starting from nothing and then owning everything is cathartic and satisfying. You start the game from being at the top of the world, but things had to quickly go to shit, so you can start from square one again. They subvert expectations, buy killing both Gat and the guy who was advertised as the main villain. funny enough the first level of SR3 is all about how the series sold out and is only about the money now. Gat even comments on how things aren't what they used to be. They killed off Gat because having him with you would have been a retread of SR2. Unfortunately getting rid of Gat meant getting rid of the last connection to the series roots.

SR4 was what happens to any series when it forced to keep making sequels just for the money, they needed to up the ante again. and they did it in the most shallow way they could, Saints Row in Space/ Super hero Saints Row.
Gat out of hell was exactly the same thing Saints Row goes to hell
It's like Friday the 13th at this point. (Jason goes to hell, Jason X)
Saint Row's story had absolutely no where left to go, They even blatantly show in a cutscenes during Gat outta Hell that their just running outta ideas.

To try and Salvage things at the end of Gat out of hell Gat literally asks god to reset the universe. This is how Agents of Mayhem came to be, Their mistake was thinking that just having characters faces was enough to carry the entire thing, when really even though Gat's face is in the game it's literally not the same Gat anymore it's just someone named Gat. the same goes for every character. none of those faces you may recognizes are the same people. fans who have been with the series since the beginning had absolutely no investment anymore since no with out a shadow of a doubt there is zero chance things could go back to how they were.

They could've kept the story grounded in SR3 by restraining themselves a bit. The idea of the country entering an anti-gang fervor due to all the mischief and mayhem and the gang eventually having to fight off military forces was a good one. The game could've started with you having everything, losing it then regaining it by fighting government forces.

No one but themselves are to blame for the terrible shift in tone that resulted in the series death.

It wasn't just the story that got worse, everything did. The series moved further and further away from the traditional story missions that made SR1&2 so great. SR3 was 60% side missions and Gat Out of Hell had no almost story missions to speak of. Something else is to blame for that and I'd like to know what.

I think the advertising could be to blame, SR2 was being made at the same time as GTA4, but GTA4 was released first, this gave them enough time to use the fact that GTA4 was a bit too realistic to their advantage, since the advertising of SR2 really tried to sell the wacky side missions, and since SR2 sold really well that told either Volition or the publisher that wackier and crazier meant more money, and it did, since SR3 and 4 sold really well. but by then people weren't buying Saints Row for the grounded story anymore they were buying Saints Row just because it was called Saints Row. I'm sure if agents of mayhem was reworked a bit, called, and advertised like it was Saints Row 5 it would have sold allot better just because of the name.

The main story is good, though. The Ronin storyline had a bit I really liked.
Neither Gat nor the protagonist show any sign of understanding this or being troubled by it. The main characters are bad people, making bad decisions, and suffering the consequences without ever improving or learning from their mistakes. The later games drop this idea entirely in favor of jerking off about how cool the Saints are. SR4 makes Gat canonically Earth's greatest warrior, instead of a small-time violent psychopath.

And notably not the player character who has actually been doing the missions while Gat useless absorbs bullets and stands arond.

Someone at Volition has a serious hard-on for Gat and I wish I understood why. He was a pretty cool character in SR1&2, but nowhere near cool enough to deserve this bizarre hero worship.

I remembered Gat from 2 as the guy that I need to get to the hospital after his girlfriend dies and the guy i carry around in a bed.
I mean, he is a bro and all but there is zero reason to hype him up so much.

Attached: Saints Row 2 Trial[HD,1280x720, Mp4].mp4 (1280x720, 10.57M)

They needed a masculine character who wasn't white because that's not allowed anymore and niggers don't sell. Gat is a nigger in japface.

It wasn't that someone working there had liked Gat. it was that Everyone liked Gat in 1, he was clearly the fan favorite. So they brought him back for 2, and so on. Since the player character is Customizable, Gat had to be the Face for the series.

It's still fun as fuck playing it via system link on xbawks.

kek

The character was established before the current year nonsense took off.
2012 is a long time ago but it's not that long ago.

You're forgetting that the games have always prided themselves on their diversity. The second game even has a fake fox news intro with the line "parents, you may want to take your children out of the room, minorities will be on screen." They've been libshits the whole time.

but to admit that line got a chuckle out of me.

Many game devs have been libshits for a long time, sad but true. People of above average intelligence but who are not geniuses typically tend to go "progressives" and that's what it usually took to be a game dev. No wonder for example the first Civilization game heavily sympathizes with the commies and even makes communism one of the most efficient civics in the game, during the Cold War progressives loved the shit out of the USSR and they would have still been present in 1991 due to inertia (they still love communism but USSR wasn't real communism yo).

Considering how casually they killed him off in 3 it obviously wasn't the devs playing favorite. Its the fact fans liked him from 2 and complained when they pointlessly killed him off in 3 so Violation overcompensated when they brought him back. Just another example of SR2 being an accident.

Like I said it wasn't just that people liked him in 2. I know allot of people didn't play 1 due to it only being on 360, but Johnny Gat was charismatic since the moment you first see him in Saints Row 1 and was set up to be just as Bad Ass as you were if not more so. I would say all the characters in SR1 were likable, but they were fairly grounded. Gat was the "Fun" character and to top it off his missions were the Vice Kings, which were easily the most interesting Gang in the game.

Intentionally or not, Gat was set up as the best part of the series since the beginning.

gta's shooting is far clunkier than this game… play the first one.

I think would only happen for most people on Holla Forums if a 360 emulator ends up working out someday.

Even though I personally think the original 3 gangs in Saints Row 1 were the best ones we got, SR 1 is pretty bare bones mechanically if you go back to it. The difference in gameplay between 1 and 2 really shows that 2 was not rushed at all and was very good sequel, since it improved all of the first games short comings.

Kill yourself.

No you did

*die

I think it was just one Halo autist who kept creating threads praising Halo and shitting on HL around half a year ago. Then either cuckchan refugees or just stupid idiots just went on, ate it and started spreading.

This is true in my part as well.
I played Dark Souls after all the praise that came from Holla Forums and I was supersized at how shitty it was.

There’s your problem, you should have had a medium order of shitty :^)

I also played No Man's Sky after all of Holla Forumss hate, I was surprised of how good it was.

A lot of niggers and a lot of bullets. You do the math.

Its a shit GTA rip off. Saints Row found its own style with 3 and 4. Much better games.

You could say the raw gameplay improved, but it became impossible to really care about the story beyond what "Crazy" thing they were going to pull out their ass next. Things became so over the top the stakes were non existent.

Saints Row IV became my favourite ever game when the theme from the 80s Transformers movie stared playing and Mission Objective : Be a badass happened.
I have never came across anything so retarded and dumb yet so fucking majestic in any game since.

Attached: ive-seen-some-shit-7227.jpg (610x365, 40.22K)

I played the game for some time, but not enough to form a proper opinion on it. I will say that I think it was definitely a better alternative to GTAIV, but it's still quite unremarkable.

I actually liked 4 and hated 3. And I still do

You're the sort of faggot who likes Ready Player One.

I don't even think that's true. Maybe the shooting is a little bit better, but the customization is worse, the upgrade system fucks everything in the ass unless you know exactly where to stop buying upgrades so you don't inadvertently remove all possibility of death from the game, driving isn't any better and gets made irrelevant in 4 by the addition of superpowers. I replayed 2 a while back in co-op with a friend and afterward tried to play 3, I couldn't fucking stand it. It's garbage.

Yeah and I enjoyed Gat outta Hell's Flying gimmick is actually really fun. I didn't get tired of it once while getting 100%. That still doesn't mean that they didn't completely run out of ideas for the story. Especially why they pretty much out right say it themselves in the games cutscenes.

You can like one some or even all of the SR games, but they still have glaring flaws.

Where did you find a bull to fuck your wife?

Now does that mean you were expecting it to literally give you cancer and AIDS or that you just have the shit taste to end all shit taste?

the brotherhood were bikers that drove trucks and had a caucasian leader, they were trailer trash.

I think the idea is when something gets piled on with hate, it makes it sound worse then it really is, that doesn't make a game good, but when your expectations are so low they hit the floor, having something semi decent is surprising.

For example everyone hates the shit out of DmC for being a slap in the face to Devil May Cry fans and taking huge steps back in terms of the series quality, it took half of what the series built up and though it in the garbage for the sake of pandering to people who are shit at video games. I hate DmC with a passion, but the reality is it's Not actually "That" bad of a game.
If someone has no experience with Devil May Cry or any action games for that matter, and plays DmC they will be genuinely confused as to why the game got shit on so hard for at worst having a bad story, Context is very important in understanding the hate for DmC.

all of this applies to half-life 2 as well, the story/theme in saints row the third is just mediocre however you look at it though

Saints Row 3 would not be as hated if the first fucking mission was not the most self congratulatory boring shit possible. Even if you ignore the bobble head gat shit, the part where you are hanging off the vault as it is being helo'd out is unbearable tedious.

and if it actually had content plus not shown off everything interesting the game had to offer in the trailer leaving no surprises

Yeah I actually enjoyed all of the Saints Row games, I'd probably get "some" enjoyment out of Agents of Mayhem as well if I actually gave it a shot, But that being said I still can't ignore that their is a clear contrast in how Saints Row 1 and 2 were, being games that were made from a more humble place with devs who were just making a game they wanted that just so happened to be very well liked by allot of people, and how 3 onward feels like cashing in on success and trying to milk things as much as they can.

I'm playing 3 right now, it came with all these invincible vehicles right from the start which I have to not use before finishing the story because they are game breakers for much of the territory reclaiming. It always was a wigger lure GTA clone that went more zany as GTA went more serious, leaving a void of balance that GTAIII and VC/SA nearly had perfect and Sleeping Dogs was the next closest to that.
That aside, it is a rather good looking and fun sandbox. But, the story and coexist gang lifestyle is actually a hamper to the game.

i'm on Holla Forums practically every day and have been for years. i've literally never heard anyone suggest this game. are you thinking of cuckchan Holla Forums?

Nope. One cannot cure a shit taste I guess.
I got it on release all excited back in the day and it was a fucking pile of shit. To the point of unplayable.
Kinda like 2 years ago I gave it another go. Yeah. Shill shit.

To this day I got no idea why Holla Forums memed it as something good. There is still assblasted fags who fell for it ITT. SR3/4 is like 9000 times better and for all shortcomings it may have SR2 got it way worse.

The gameplay might be dated especially since it's a 10 year old game but it really encapsulates what the past decade was all about. If you were not really into the Hiphop or Dudebro culture of the 2000's, look away.

I literally had to kek of them coming out bluntly saying they ran out of ideas to fucking do seeing that scene.

hello, newfag

Yes it is. Some of the levels are pretty, that's its only redeeming factor. What little fun there is in the combat gets sucked out as soon as the color coded enemies start appearing. I will say that it's still a better game than anything Saints Row after 2.

I wish they could've just went with a new player character, keep the boss as this enigmatic mysterious badass figure with no statues or pictures around but is sometimes mentioned by the npc's etc while you are some new schmuck in a new city trying to bring the Saints influence over it.

Something similar to Vice City start, you are some guy sent to do a deal or something for the Saints in hopes of expanding there and it goes to shit and you are on your own or a new guy from the new city where the gang power vacuum is filled by asshole gangs making life suck to you&your pals so you decide to go with this famous gang called "the Saints", helping them bring their shit over and becoming the head honcho of the city and shit.

im fairly certain that a lot of the old Volition crew jumped ship after SR2/Red Faction: Guerilla. Theres a vast difference in quality compared to SR3 and RF:A

Makes sense, it would explain why SR 3 and after feel different to play beyond maybe just having a different engine.

i mean, saints row the third certainly feels better in terms of pure gameplay, saints row 2 is pretty shitty in the gameplay department
