Greece and Egypt are probably the most common pre-moderrn historical settings in media after Medieval Europe and fuedal japan though. I'm not saying they are actually common, they aren't and ii'd love more, but the are the least-least uncommon the actual common ones.

South and Southeast Asia, Mesopotamia, West asia/Anatolia, Mesoamerica, and the Andes, pics related, are the actual, truly underused settings with civilizations. Africa, Polynesi/Oceancia Indo-european (outside of Scandinavia which people love for some reason), and North native america/South america outside of the andes are also underused, but given the relative lack of civilizations, large cities, etc; it's harder to make shit in those settings.

That word is actually a name of a certain region of the Inca empire, not a specific culture or ethnic group. They probably meant either the Chincha, or the Chimu (both of which were in that region when the Inca conquered it). The Chimu had the largest political state in the Andes prior to the Inca conquering them, and had what was the largest city in South America prior to europeans arriving (Chan Chan, which had a population of 60k people, 3rd pic related), so definitely not a tribe. I don't know much about the Chincha, but apparently they were an urban, state based culture as well rather then being tribal.
