I expected much worse to be honest

That's DE for you, they rather keep adding new but shallow content instead of polishing the stuff that's already in the game.
That being said, I kind of get why they do this, if they stop the flow of new content in order to address the staggering amount of stagnating content the playerbase is just gonna get bored and leave, a large amount of players won't care if the devs make something work like it should have been since release, the only option that DE has is to keep pumping out new unpolished content and eventually improve it while at the same time try to develop new shit; it is an endless circle of cleaning a public toilet that can't flush

If you're still playing warfarm you need to hang yourself. This freemium shit would die if you stop playing F2P games entirely. Kill yourself, for the good of the human race.
