Oroville Dam unprepared for climate change, critics warned years before crisis

County officials say the emergency of the past few days, including the sudden evacuation of more than 180,000 people, shows just how well-founded their concerns were – and how important it will be for California to change how dams are managed as rising temperatures shrink the average snowpack in the Sierra and change the timing of snowmelt runoff.

The Rage of Caliban: Identity Politics, the Travel Ban, and the Shifting Ideological Framework of the Resistance

The travel ban was a test. It was a test of the basic ideological preparedness of a nation that has spent most of its time trying not to imagine a Trump presidency, and must now shape that sentiment, as quickly as possible, into the groundwork of a credible resistance.

On inequality in China

China runs the risk of developing a form of pluto-communism, with a stronger concentration of private property than in capitalist countries, all guaranteed by a single Communist party.

Why Loneliness Affects So Many Young People

You're not supposed to feel lonely while you're young, surrounded by friends and family, but the truth is it's a bigger concern among young people than any other age group.

The Precariatisation of Work

The security that jobs provided was eroded with self-responsibility and flexibility being pushed onto individuated workers. Processes of deindustrialisation and de-unionisation were supported by Western governments of the time, and the division of labour within corporations was internationalised into global production networks. The service sector began to dominate employment, and with it came lower wages, temporary contracts and the increasing need for flexibility.

I will never understand the mind of a classcuck.

So the only thing stopping these companies from making certain deals was that they would have to let everyone know who they were working with? Why do they care

Some interesting stuff today

Mattis: Little doubt that Russia meddled in US and other democratic elections

They're really a cult aren't they?

It's almost as if they are spineless.

why do you share retarded fake news and where do you think trump made anti-russia statements?

Even Kremlin is distancing themselves from Trump.

I think it's a ploy. After the Flynn leaks came out, it has become evident that the FBI has been tapping a number of senior officials, and they might have serious leverage on these people.

Basically, the deep state has Trump by the balls.

Here's some food for thought for people around here who like calling immigrants "scabs". :^)

Keep it cumming user

Are these hackers lolberts?

Cyberpunk is becoming real.

When they are making $12/hr with no benefits they still will not understand why.

I wanna read this, but… Vice.

Poor fucking Shias man, seriously. This is essentially attempted genocide at this stage.

I expect more and more things thrown at big buisness to benefit them as the presidency goes on.

As one of those people, this unironically really made me think.

I guess I'll just put this in this thread. People should really watch Donald's 76 minute press conference from earlier. Pure insanity.

early signs of dementia.

anyone catch the clip of him rambling about how he's not rambling?

I'm dying here

How does anyone look at this guy and think "yeah, he's qualified"

By looking at the alternative.

Marx is, once again, completely right.

Getting rid of Dodd-Frank is a good thing

This is allegorical, but most unionists don't work as fast as non-unionists. I'm all for unions though, slowing down production to a halt is a good thing, ideally though the production would stop in general.

Dodd-Frank is nowhere near perfect, but it's the only thing preventing another housing bubble.

Can we just jump to the part where we start forcing the parents of Holla Forumsyps who live at home to lynch their own neets

So we will have another housing bubble since Trump is getting rid of it?

The company most likely threatened to move jobs somewhere else. Hasn't Boeing done that before?

Dodd-Frank wasn't going to stop another housing bubble, just delay it.

Literally acceleration.

Yeah all of Boeing's jobs used to be union jobs in washington.

We're already in another housing bubble

Is there a dumb trade deal Canada wont sign?

I fucking hate Sunni's so much

nope. Canada is Democrats the country

Just archive it, you… you… DOUBLE KULAK

This is what Dodd-Frank's done in the housing mortgage situation. Not many subprime mortgages, a lot of government insured mortgages.

When Dodd-Frank is removed subprime loans are going to spike again, introducing a lot more risk into the housing sector. Home mortgages are by far the biggest sector in the whole loan industry.

South Carolina man with 'white supremacist' ties planned a shooting ‘in the spirit of Dylann Roof'

A South Carolina man with white supremacist ties was busted for buying a gun to commit a shooting “in the spirit of Dylann Roof,” according to a federal complaint.

Benjamin Thomas Samuel McDowell, 29, was arrested Wednesday after purchasing a .40 caliber Glock handgun and ammunition from an undercover FBI agent. He is an ex-convict who built bonds with white supremacists while serving prison sentences for several offenses, the complaint says.

McDowell had been ranting online about his desire to commit an attack, and targeted much of his hatred at Jews.

In December, he posted a link to a page for the Temple Emanu-El Conservative Synagogue in Myrtle Beach and wrote, “I love love to act what u think.”

In a Facebook screed weeks later, he said Jews were part of a plot to wipe out the white race.

“All they wanne do is stay loaded on drugs the Jews put here to destory white man and they fest on the drugs (sic),” he wrote on Jan. 5, according to the complaint.

He also criticized fellow white supremacists for failing to take action, writing that they “ain’t got the heart to fight for Yahweh like dylann roof,” the white supremacist who gunned down nine parishioners at a South Carolina black church in 2015.

The next day, he wrote on Facebook that he wanted an “iron,” a term for a gun.

McDowell met with the undercover agent one week later, believing the agent was someone who “handled problems for the Aryan Nations.” Speaking in a hotel while carrying marijuana, McDowell told the agent he wanted to unleash a massacre on non-whites and walk away “scot-free” because he feared going back to prison.

“I seen what Dylann Roof did and in my heart I reckon I got a little bit of hatred and…I want to do that s—,” McDowell said, according to the complaint.

He said he wanted to commit a “big scale” attack and write on the wall of a building, “In the spirit of Dylann Roof.” McDowell never seemed to settle on a location for his planned bloodbath.

McDowell arranged to meet the agent on Wednesday, when he bought the gun and ammo for $109. Federal agents then busted him in the parking lot of a Hampton Inn.

He faces a charge for felon in possession of a firearm. Calls to a number listed for his family were not returned.

There are legit criticisms to be made about the efficacy of peaceful protests, but "all lives matter" is not one of them. While a general strike would obviously be preferable, it's just not in the cards right now. This is about as radical as America's willing to get for the time being.

faces of Holla Forums thread

Writes and speaks like it too.

Oh my dayz

Americans are obsessed with race but no fuck all about the intricacies of scientific racism from the 19th century (where most burgers perception of race stems from). Anyone without at least blue/green eyes is not white, if you are a male and under 6'2 without suffering from a congenital illness you're not white (unless you have blue eyes and blonde hair along with perfect lineage back to PIE Urheimat)

Holla Forums is whiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiite

You're retarded. Europeans constantly shit on Americans for being less white on Holla Forums and /int/.

We Europeans on chans are quite amercanised.

Hillary was shit, but she was more qualified that Trump.

In an accelerationist sense, that's why Trump is good. He's so much of a bumbling incompetent, he'll inadvertently bring this whole system to its knees.

All whites look the same to me.

You're right. In real life you just import hordes of Mudslimes with no limits.

Just get it over with and fuck a white guy, Hoochie, you're like Holla Forums and macho black guys.

And I fully support it because I know it triggers you.

I would say get over yourself and fuck an asian bitch but I realized that was a fucking idealistic premise.

What do you think is better

my posts

or you incessantly telling people to filter me every thread I'm in,

Okay, fam.

I was just pointing out the obvious "I hate white guys so much I can't stop talking about them" complex you've got going on there.

Your reddit spacing

Fucking hate white boys. They think they're just sex machines who can swoop in and capture some pretty asian with their good looks and charm.

I've already got the devil in my bed, I'm taken.

Considering I came before the influx of redditors and the fact I'm used to double spacing, I apologize for irritating you.

Nah you came with the redditors.

go back to Holla Forums

This is a hostile environment. We should cool down a little.

If the housing market collapses while insured by the government, I doubt things will look so good for the government. Damn, that's actually kind of frightening.

Now thats just Holla Forums tier fantasy.

Holla Forums, no matter where they are, will always say how many women are available to them

And not even once, do they consider saying it so many god damn times seems suspicious eventually.

There's not much of Caliban left to have any rage tbh

Wow rofl literally felt like nothing changed whatsoever. I was very much against immigration reform before this strike, but now I think it might be fine.

I'll never understand this

So Kim Jong Un brother lived in Macau a place filled with casinos and chinese mafia, but of course if he appeared dead it's not because of debts on the casinos or due to loan sharks, no, no! It was the DPRK state that killed him!

We europeans shit on americans for being less white on Holla Forums and /int/ because it's garateed (you)'s :D
Since USA lacks a tru culture and national identity, the only thing they have for them is the skin pigments and muh heritage. So if we shit on them, they will get immediately angry.

Christians and Muslims are just Jewish spin-offs in denial anyway

Hillary was definitely more qualified objectively

Also that does nothing to explain the vigorous bootlicking post-election

It was justice that the dark angels lost their home world. They should never have betrayed the Imperium.

To be fair, the press asks really stupid questions that often garner the same kind of response in kind.

And we did have Reagan and Bush II, I guess they set a precedent as to how low Americans will set the bar.

Conservatives aren't stupid, they're evil. They know what they're doing.

Even classic liberals (libertarians) are right once a day but it seems only the worst of their policies are implemented, or it's just half assed.

People are brainwashed into believing that unions are greedy and sucking out profits from the hardworking job creators. Strikes in the transportation sector aren't very popular to commuters, but the only reason they keep happening is not because the strikers are cunts, but because bourgies won't make concessions. Simply ignoring unions has now become more viable than making concessions.

Following the literal manifestation of human collective will (even if he's plugged into fucking life support chair) is the only thing keep humanity afloat in the 40k universe.

It's not imperialism when the TAU do it.
