"In any case, "economic democracy" has not simply meant "workplace democracy" and "employee ownership." Many workers, in fact, would like to get away from their factories if they could and find more creative artisanal types of work, not simply "participate" in "planning" their own misery. What "economic democracy" meant in its profoundest sense was free, "democratic" access to the means of life, the counterpart of political democracy, that is, the guarantee of freedom from material want. It is a dirty bourgeois trick, in which many radicals unknowingly participate, that "economic democracy" has been re-interpreted as "employee ownership" and "workplace democracy" and has come to mean workers' "participation" in profit sharing and industrial management rather than freedom from the tyranny of the factory, rationalized labor, and "planned production," which is usually exploitative production with the complicity of the workers." - Bookchin
libcom.org/library/municipalization-murray-bookchin

This. Co-ops worshipers BTFO.

What economic system does Bookchin advocate? Decentralized planning?

Communalism advocates for the "municipalization of property", where all productive enterprise/industrial production is brought under the control of the municipal assemblies. Communalism also seeks to automate production, abolish scarcity and work, and to provide the means of life according to the maxim of "from each according to their ability, to each according to their need".

Shitting in the woods for 40 years then dying.

Liberal delusion. I mean, I knew we had lifestylists and anarkiddies running rampant, but this is ridiculous

"Work" doesn't mean the same thing as "labour". Labour is necessary for civilisation. Work is compulsory, drudgery.

Pointless semantics.

Besides, how the hell to you expect everyone to magically cooperate till the point where actually doing something with your life is "voluntary"? And dont say "machines", because AI is another childish fantasy that seems to be rampant among the revisionist left.

Communalism isn't against government and social contract theory.

Lotsa work thats done now is of very little benefit to society.
People work more than they should actually have to right now, in many countries.
muh automation.

It's not anti-work in the sense that the autists in the OP are either.

Well, that IS a problem, but we should change it so that there's maximum necessary employment, thus creating maximum efficiency. This would require your dreaded "work" though. Nevermind the fact that work is good for a human being, keeping the proletarian spirit alive. Without it, we degrade into bourgeoisie decadence

Spooky.

No its not. Doing stuff and not just sitting around all day is, work is mandatorially having to do some particular thing on a constant schedule instead of just doing what you like to do when you feel like it. Its a necessary evil and more of it is done now than has to be, and the amount that has to be done will drop even further(though not to near-nothing by any means) in the near future.
sounds alot like 'degeneracy' theory.

If you dont know the difference between fun and decadence then you probably haven't read any theory, at all.

Let me guess: you jerk off to Soviet propaganda posters featuring men doing hard labor.

We don't need to wait until strong AI to allow automation to gradually take over repulsive toil.

Hmm, well, not quite. Socially necessary labor time seems to include material production only, with other spheres of production deprecated. Communities need labor construed broadly, beyond material production and beyond the reach of labor vouchers, such as talking to one's neighbors, family and comrades, and showing up for council. (sorry /r9k/)

Your so-called "proletarian spirit" is nothing but the Puritan work ethic cloaked in red flags. Communism seeks to abolish social classes, not to romanticize the dreadful proletarian condition as some sort of final, ideal New Man.

For the socialist to embrace the "proletarian spirit" makes as much sense as for the abolitionist to embrace the "slave spirit".

I'm glad you dislike work, I hope the future holds air conditioned flats and perpetual distraction for us all, but I hope you don't get too impatient, because before we can accomplish our goals we all need to do a lot of work and put up with immense torture. you may not even get to see it and end up like Digen Vasily Nikolaevich, but the social relations of the revolution are far more compelling than whatever material distractions you can be jealous of instead. by your connection with the ummah you will already experience the post-work utopia where the greatest hardship are scraped knees and unrequited love.

...

No thanks.

Good job OP, I look forward to reading!

Thanks.

Reading David Frayne's The Refusal of Work right now. It's great, very thorough without being too long-winded.

Nice try Holla Forums.

/anti-work/ reading group when?

Suck my working class dick you neet

...

...

Work (as in human activity) and labor (as in paid employment) are different things.

You mixed them up.

Don't want this thread to die

Tfw you join an ideology just because it's neet friendly

they're exactly the same thing. if you want, you can say paid/unpaid labor/work.

The distinction is probably because working as an investment banker to obtain millions of dollars through manipulation of poor peoples investments isn't considered labor.

I have read kaczynzki and he says a lot of smart stuff (but I only think it for the pacifist stuff hahaha FBI) but the other primitivist got shat on by him
Also if you think unabomber was anti technology you didt read even the manifesto since he was clearly pro personal and small group technology

I wont do the mistake of reading these. Its poison to my productivity.

That's the point, fam.

Workerism is what doomed Holla Forums all along. It's a bourgeois ideology and everyone knows it.

How is "anti-work" different from the abolition of wage labor proposed by anarchists like Kropotkin?

page 15 save

Hard physical labor extracts the most noble qualities out of man (self sacrifice, persistence, endurance, discipline). There is no communism without ascetic devotion to constant labor. Communism entails rejecting all our selfish passions and giving all our energy to the betterment of society and everyone else.

Laziness is a bourgeois illness that needs to be ruthlessly exterminated in the people.

Who here is a NEET?

Qualities can't be extracted.

This tbh
