it was actually the best fpsmmo that has ever come out tbh, it's only failing was the fact that it was console only

No

Looks generic as fuck

that's the issue with looks but in actual it had just about as much depth as eve online does because you can change your loadout to deal with whatever situation you faced

looks even more generic

It just had overcomplicated UI for a console or anything for that matter.

looks like a pretty generic hud not complicated at all

That funny enough highlights the shit that chased most players off.

I wish CCP would've finished World of Darkness game instead of this piece of shit garbage.

here's a nip on a roof top

I don't think so, just that ccp massively fucked up making it console only and releasing it on the ps3s end just about, it's clear they wanted to have a very long term player base like they did with eve online but they're not very good at business tbh

...

I really enjoyed it when all I had was a ps3

The game was really complicated and good, but I think it was too complicated for console. When I played it on my PS3 (before it got YLOD) it was actually a very fun game. Super dedicated fanbase, the combined arms worked really well with all 4 factions having different types of weapons, vehicles and planes and a ton of different ways to play and equipment options to choose from tank with a minigun to lightweight shotgunner objective specialist. Dropping from an airship was rad as fuck. The game wasn't bad, just that releasing it console only was a mistake.
I remember when I always fucked with the enemy by dropping C4 on the points and then detonating them when they started to capture it.

I think the assault rifles don't shoot actual bullets for any of the factions in the game so you could actually say clip as it's a plasma or laser clip or whatever.

This. The fanbase was dedicated and the game was insanely unique and good, it was literally FPS EVE Online and in the best way possible. They are working on Project Nova right now but I don't think it has a shared universe where pilots in the sky and soldiers on the ground can cooperate. The game is what introduced me to EVE so I'm glad for it. Once Project Nova releases I will definitely play it if it will be like Dust was with all the vehicle gameplay and stuff, but from the short gameplay we saw one EVE Vegas it was infantry only and very close quarters and I think they mentioned it won't be as connected to EVE as Dust was.

Well, you're wrong.

basically dust was shaping up to be a literal clone of eve online in fps format all they needed to do was stick it on pc and develop it alot more

magazine and clip are clearly defined, so unless you use a clip to push in the plasma into the gun they would need to use some other type of terminology like plasma canister or something.

actually it wasn't dust which killed WoD, it was their fucking god awful yearly expansion the one with captains quarters which made alot of people really fucked with ccp, they pulled everyone off of the WoD to work on it

Well, the issue with that was that they had a contract with Sony to make it a PS3 exclusive, so PC was a impossibility, but PS3 exclusivity was it's first and last mistake and which sealed it's fate because you can't just have a PC only audience and transport them over to console instantly. I always enjoyed that you could play the game with a keyboard and mouse, though, that was really neat.

yeah which is a shame and ultimately didn't help sony either

CCP's fuckups were:
Last I recall the 4 races had a main/heavy/sidearm weapon each (aka the minimum), but you only had caldari and gallente dropships/tanks/LAVs.
I don't know what to say other than they had their chance - then blew it in platform selection, blew it in platform life cycle selection, blew it in content delivery.. it was still a pretty alright game and game core (could have done with more cover in maps though), but they just blew it repeatedly.

ccp are not a developer who release things in timely order, they expected to have their kinda development time they typically do on a console fps which did indeed help in the down fail of dust but honestly if all of the other console specific points there weren't the case, in afew years it would have been evened out nicely

Consoles need simpler UI's.

Agreed. The Keyboard/Mouse compatibility was a nice boon.

I completely forgot this game ever existed. If they had released it on PC and actually tied it into EVE I probably would have loved it.

How could they fuck up this bad?
What the fuck were they smoking
BRAVO CCP

See:

Top tier shit Sony
Top tier shit CCP for accepting this shitty deal with an unproven concept that worked on their main platform.

Even though I kind of liked the concept of battles that actually matter every single time you play them, the implementation was very weak. The fact that new players with shit gear play in the same battles as super rich players with the best gear made it very unbalanced. Of course, no battle in EVE is balanced, but this shit just made every single match either a "camp and kill" borefest, or "get camped and raped" rage-tornado. It was never fun. The concept wasn't fun, the gameplay was shit, the graphics were outdated even at the time, and I would call it a failed project, if it wasn't already in the "dumpster-fire" category.

The lack of tying it into EVE did not help it at all, especially when it was promised from the get-go.

when ccp promises something, 6 years latter it happens. that's just how they do

Still fucking mad.

no it didn't you fucking retard

This board truly has amasing power
archive.is/iSdxm

they're incompetent as fuck and without eve online they'd be long dead tbh

wew

WHY?!

actually there is a eve clone of sorts store.steampowered.com/app/223410/Perpetuum/ it's dead tbh

What the fuck were the devs thinking when they made a multiplayer only game for one console?

it screams to me of getting conned tbh

...

Wasn't MW multiplatform?

That's cause the designs look like trash and the gameplay is trash. Mean really, how do you manage to make mechs so boring?

It was, but it was also an extremely successful shooter on consoles.
This led many devs to believe making a console shooter would be profitable.

by making it grindy as fuck, having large buildings which make your mechs look fucking tiny as shit and also having no real depth other then if you don't want to die keep moving

Why did you have to remind me?

Should have given it a PC version or better yet made it PC exclusive. No way in hell am I buying a console.

oh you have no idea archive.is/7RZSu

When will CCP finally die?

...

My sides. They haven't slipped up too much on EVE but anything else has been a disaster.

bump

That D looks like heavily stylized J.

Don't forget when they fucking killed Project Vaulderie, the source port/reimplementation for VtM:B.

I see what you did there.

Three years later and he definitely isn't wrong.

been playing since closed beta up until the "Rougewedding"
let me tell you about this clusterfuck
and then the game was "released" and the absolute nail in the coffin of the game was hammered
at this point it was clear the game was going nowhere

Gonna add if you tie your EVE account to the game you get stats and money put onto that.

So if you dont play for years on end like i did and log in one day, you reached the game cap for every possible counter. i had more money on my soldier then i did in EVE.

It was shit on arrival

HAHAHA WEEEEEEEEEW. That was not a low-budget spin-off, just look at the trailers.

I played EVE for about a year, constantly researching shit about the meta and the community, and what I found out about CCP was my #1 reason for dropping it.
Every bad decision the game has ever suffered from comes down from CCP's top execs. Dozens of reviews by former employees talking of completely disconnected leadership and how the only way to progress in the workplace or get attention to your ideas was to suck your superiors' cocks as hard as you could and shit on anyone who wasn't.
And ever since I quit, EVE has been getting jewier and jewier with their microtransactions and "free-to-play". It's going to be incredibly difficult to kill a game with an audience as autistic as theirs, but I bet they'll manage it within the next five years or so.
Look at all this beautiful shit that's been crippled and doomed by a few cancerous upper management. Fuck CCP as hard as EA, Activision and Zenimax.

This is why this shit failed.
This is also why destiny will never be able to compete with warframe.

This is why this shit… Failed?

If people could actually see how stupid they looked I don't think they would play for very long.

My god, it's such a genius plan!

What's next? A game client that lets you download games you never get around to play but you still use because you get to silently laugh at everyone in your "friends" list whenever they play a shit game? And then you boot up the same game to pretend you're not online just to laugh at them?

Yes.

i remember seeing this game on PSN and just ignoring it because it looked like a lootcrate pay 2 win bullshitfest

It is a F2P anarcho capitalist shooter where the weak must fear the strong.

Got a shitton of players and made them a colossal amount of money. Still does, even.
Just because it's shit, it doesn't mean it failed user.
Or did you though the world was fair and just?

CCP is firing a lot of of their employees. Will my beloved Eve finally crash and burn?

I hope so. Kiss my hairy butt, you faggot Hilmar and your retarded dyke Seagull

Isn't it only in the non-EVE sectors with VR and shit? The only studios that actually matter are the ones in Reykjavik for EVE and Shanghai for all their offshoot projects like EVE: Gunjack and formerly Dust 514.

Arent they working on another console FPS right now?

I thought EVE Valkyrie was a VR fighter game?

Project Nova, but it's planned for PC and consoles aren't known at the moment. It used to be Project Legion, which was intended to just be a port of Dust 514 but apparently now it's just Project Nova, which is intended to be more close quarters than Dust.

>The new FPS is (((unaffected))).
The mobile game stills full steam ahead too

They also fired a lot of EVE community managers, including playerbase favorites like Logibro and Manifest. Logibro was responsible for organizing all of the tournaments, I think.

It was, and it's just been abandoned and 1/4 of CCP's employees laid off.
The new FPS is (((unaffected))).

I think I saw Logibro in the community help chat window once while I was just helping out new pilots with basic stuff while mining. Unfortunate.
The the mobile game (Gunjack) was made by Shanghai and so was Dust and now Nova, but the Shanghai offices are generally the most hush hush out of them all. I think Valkyrie was made by CCP Reykjavik instead and they abandoned ship (wisely so) after seeing that VR just won't take off.
