How is Key's older art more tolerable than their newer stuff? I'm reading Air right now and looks seriously terrible at times, but that second picture is 10x better (even if the proportions are kind of wrong).

No intention to play Princess X, but boy do I know this feeling. So far the best ending to one of the routes is the heroine going insane while cradling the hero's corpse, in another route the heroine goes braindead and the hero carries her around in a wheelchair in the hopes she might one day recover and in yet another route the best ending is the couple running away forever from a ridiculously powerful conspiracy while her power might go hayware and apocalypse the Earth at any moment. It's a good thing the true ending is near because my heart can't take much more.

Depends. I got half-way through Ataraxia before I became bored and dropped it. There was also another sci-fi one dealing with perspectives and shit and I gave up after an hour. Forgot the name but the kid was climbing a tower, looking at a watch and it just didn't engage me.

Grsaia was a bit rough in the beginning with Yumiko actually attacking Yuuji and playing it off as comedy, took awhile through the combined path but you get to know the characters. Majikoi is abit more relaxed with introducing it's characters.

I'm more or less a VN virgin – I've only played three, and one was still in development. I'd like to get into them more, and I've decided to do so by playing through VN's I know of with anime adaptations. That's why I've downloaded Higurashi When They Cry and Steins;Gate (I'm also looking for a good download for Yosuga no Sora if someone could provide one).

Anyway, I am not particularly adept at VN's and completion and story is more important to me that the puzzle – I derive no enjoyment out of the 'figure it out' element of VN's. For that reason, I was wondering if anyone could direct me to any good Walkthroughs or Flowcharts for Higurashi When They Cry and Steins;Gate? I'm looking for 100% completion, not just one successful navigation through the game.

Don't get me wrong, I'm going to try to play through them without the guide at least once, but I'm just not the kind of person who wants to spend hours searching through every little route and setting off every little flag a hundred times. How do you guys feel about Walkthroughs? You have any good ones for the games I have right now?

I don't know if I prefer them, per se. A VN with a bunch of different routes and choices is just as good as a kinetic novel as long as I have a guide for 100% completion. Gotta tell you, my favorite route on Katawa Shoujo was Shizune's and my least favorite was Rin's. I attribute this greatly to Shizune's being a fairly straightforward route whereas Rin's was a maze of autism.

I think I've seen a one case or another, but nothing substancial, they could both saving money and focusing on untranslated projects.

It was released by JAST who, as far as I'm aware, seem to "officially release" already fan translated content exclusively. I'm guessing JAST grabbed the original instead of Gold for exactly this purpose.
Presumably they change some shit around and slap an official seal on it as a cost saving/we totally didn't steal this translation measure.
It's better to buy a JP copy if you want to support the devs, because this is more likely supporting JAST's horrid business practices.

Use a guide with that. It has a stupid system. You are given various choices in the map and there's only 1 or 2 right choices, any other and you'll get a game over. I don't recall anything hinting where I had to go or how not going to a cafe actually affected anything. I dropped it after a few chapters.

Not really. The writing haphazard and tends towards infodumps and long pseudo-philospohical monologues, the pacing is painfully slow with the main plot barely getting any attention until past the halfway point (at one point it spends about 8 hours on an arc about a government coup that has nothing to do with the plot and is just an excuse to spout more poorly written philosophical nonsense), the MC is insufferable and doesn't undergo and development to become less insufferable.
The VN baits you into reading it by masqueraduing as a military science fiction story about alien invasion and parallel universes, but it's mostly just melodrama and people crying about their feelings.

There is no context. The whole point of that death is that there was no meaning to it, it just happened suddenly and out of nowhere. One moment she's giving the MC some advice during one of his crybaby episodes and then he looks up and see that.

Oh, and to answer this: she's one of the better characters because she's the only one not hung up on dumb emotional issues. She just wants to train you to fight ayys to the best her her ability.

I picked the game up after dropping it for 3 years having only finished Survivor man Amane's route, so I have very few recollections of her background If I'm not mistaken until this point in the story she was unable to say no due the fact that her parents died because of her but I don't remember anything else worth mentioning, should I just start again? Also, should I go for the bad endings? Amane's bad ending did not worth it. Also, the text is a but fucked up.

Her parents get busy with work then they spend less time with her and then she meets yuuchi then on her birthday yuuchi leaves and her parents try to spend time with her but she basically says fuck you and runs away and then they get hit by a car and die and she gets PTSD then she goes to live with her uncle gets controlled by some slut who bullies her and ends up having her burn down her school that she went to and that is basically her childhood but on her route yuuchi teaches her to not be a soulless robot and have her own opions and that is pretty much what the entire route is about.

They made sure there was nowhere around, it was a controlled explosion. They are still in the open next to a burning building, though.

Found the problem. I didn't need grisaia custom sp.tff but one called grisaiacustom.tff. If anyone needs it, I'd upload it quickly.

The third is available cucked on Steam but considering the previous time they needed to go through the "adult" content I'm guessing the 3rd game won't be released uncucked until early next year at minimum.
