...

Sometimes they get the rights to actually good games. And, if lightning strikes twice, they will do a "good" job on it. That is precisely when you should pick it up used, afterwards, when it has dropped in price a bit.

I don't want that filth label in my home regardless if it's a used copy or stolen.

Where is rorona

>ywn learn moonrunes

That's not true; all you need is practice. Here's a fine example of the kanji for kill. Consider practicing it through suicide.

Just picked up Demon Gaze for the vita, then noticed it was NIS. Is it censored at all? Google and gamefaqs links provided by google aren't giving me a direct answer and it's mildly frustrating.

It's actually completely fine.

...

SRWZ2 and Xenogears via adrenaline.

...

*hated

They liked it before it started getting games. Then all the games it got were too lewd for their puritanical sensibilities so they stopped liking it.

Any discussion of the Vita often ended being deleted and followed with a ban by the time the handheld was confirmed to get nothing more than niche japanese games (so basically around 2015-2016)

There was another screenshot with Evilore saying "the Vita is for pedos and will no longer be tolerated in NeoGAF" but seems like I lost it

Far as I've heard in past threads, the western release was surprisingly decent, considering the quality of NISA's usual work. Do hope you mean that you picked it up preowned physical though, or "picked up" as in downloaded to pirate.

Doesn't mean you need to settle for their cucked versions.

You're a good man user.

Pretty sure NeoGAF was only pro-Sony because it was a Japanese company trying to be a Western one, their whole thing has always been to be shills for the Western industry, hence why they're all SJWs.

Started DT2 up again, and a bit of Nep AU. My new system has a couple of scratches on the screen that are noticeable during games, does anyone here have experience with fixing them? Also curious, I've noticed when it's showing all black that there's a couple of spots that are much darker, it's almost like a stain. But it's only visible from what I can tell on the blacks.

Also does anyone have the full of this picture?

We need a picture of Vitan smugging Neogaf now.
And that one was even censored over in the West. Give 'em an inch and they take your asshole.

Right on cue!

Crowe's the shit. I'm still not sure if he and Uther are meant to be based of Yang Wenli and Reinharto from LOGH though.

Would not surprise me in the least if they were.

for a dead handheld, i bought more games for it than any other handheld or console combined.

Addendum: Apparently the darker splotches on blacks is a known issue with OLED. Guess it's a good reason to stop playing crap like UDG but I'm a bit disappointed. That eyesore aside they are a drastic improvement over the IPS screens.

I've seen Dreamcast comparisons. I wouldn't go that far but the system isn't without its redeeming qualities or strong bias towards certain genres.

Pre-owned, from a card shop, actually.

I'll be squeezing in a bit of DT2 before bed, and hopefully actually getting into the game this time, third time's the charm? I just got done testing pkgi though, as expected, someone was working on a freeShop equivalent.

github.com/mmozeiko/pkgi

It only just came out, don't expect anything on par with freeShop, or even CIAngel. Presently it doesn't handle DLC. There's also no proper DB setup yet, I hacked one up from the current NoPayStation DB. It should also be possible to download the example as a .csv although it has lots of entries without keys/links.

docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1s4IKKcJcHLsgCqLslt7IXE6ApyFa9BoH4whudwkx8mA/edit#gid=911214532

In any case it seems to work as advertised so that's neat.

Awesome.

Guiz, pkgi is here.

github.com/mmozeiko/pkgi

DT2 up till a week ago.
Mary Skelter
Nothing.
No. My DT2 save got corrupted when my Vita hung in the middle of saving the game. The damn thing won't even boot unless I disable plugins, which means it's probably the NoNpDrm plugin fucking everything up. I have an old copy of my DT2 save from a month ago on my PSTV, and the only thing I really did in between was a bunch of Skyfort grinding, but I'm having trouble breaking my apathy and restoring my older save.

you got only yourself to blame, user.

Well I at least passed the first dungeon last night, without dying to the boss somehow. I've gotta be more protective of my magical girl she's irritatingly weak. It'll get easier I expect but for now I'm generally on edge exploring places, it is refreshing to not feel invincible while playing, compared to something like FF7.

Did a plugin just get corrupted? Copy them over again or something.

Root letter,darkest dungeon
I'm honestly wanting to play Shadows of War.
I'm hoping to pick up chaos child soon but I might hold off for a bit longer. I've got expensive tickets to buy soon unfortunately

I'm hoping root letter turns out to be something special but I haven't play enough to know yet

Leftism is a hell of a drug.

Not sure how true it is, as I've never gone to that shithole myself, but there is this screenshot that tries to claim that whether they like or dislike a company goes in cycles. From the sound of it, they just jump on the train of whatever company's systems are popular at a given time, or perhaps what they think is going to become popular (and then jumping to something else if that proves wrong/they find the games on it "too icky" or something).

Looked in my folders for that cap, and couldn't find it. Closest I've got is one with someone being banned because "buying a game to ogle underage girls makes you a pedo"; doesn't specify the thread topic itself though. Funny though how they can go from that, to banning people that call pedophiles "sick fucks" and defending said pedos as "peaceful", "lonely", and "fearful".

Polite sage as this isn't exactly Vita related.

They are stored on different hard drives, I just didn't make any backups from my Vita after I backed up my TV save.

Looks like it, yeah. I'm going to recopy them eventually, but it's still just frustrating that a plugin is basically why I lost a few weeks worth of grind.

pastebin.com/raw/wRuNrxdb

This is a pkgi.txt enough said. I'm about to continue DT2 and the second dungeon I had a quick peek into with the multiple floors. Also I'm a bit surprised there's no Sonico games on Vita. Not counting that one crossover RPG thing or her AT2 costume. At least there's solid Vocaloid ones though.

I'm skeptical that that was the actual cause of the crash, or that it could cause the system to stop booting unless the plugin file is corrupted. It's much much cleaner than Mai or Vitamin. What's your plugin setup like? I keep it mostly to the basics of Adrenaline and NoNpDrm, a couple of games load OclockVita too.

To be fair that sounds like most online communities. The difference is that here you aren't banned. People just fling shit at each other.

It's uncut and fairly meme free, probably one of the only decent NISA releases.

What games have been released in the past year or so that can't be described as turn-based or a visual novel?

In foreignerland maybe

...

I'm honestly more surprised the Switch is that high and that the Bone has sold any machines at all

Continue being fucked in the ass by NISA then, faggot. Continue helping the blight on games. Better yet, kill yourself.

Nothing really. Most vita games in general are one of the two or just shallow moe games. If someone can prove me wrong i'd be happy, since i'd like to play something new.

I'd be happy to just play games that require over 3.60

There is also Macross Delta but I dont own that one to give it a proper recommendation or not.

I was hoping for something better, Macross delta looks the more fun out of those. I guess i could try princess wa kane no majo or ninja usagimaru but the rest looks pretty boring and i'm not a touhou fan.

Just BatteryPercent and NoNpDrm. Does Adrenaline count as a plugin?

I'd like to have a huntung game on vita and i wanted to play toukiden since i already finished soul sacrifice and freedom wars. Which title is better: kiwami or 2?

slurp slurp

Finished dungeon #2. Got roughed up by the boss a bit but it's gotten easier. Regular enemies now get smashed by fighter girl's big sword, and healpanties has something to regen MP now so I don't have to worry about running out nearly as much, that alone takes a lot of the worry out.

Nah that should be fine. Adrenaline has a plugin component that's why it has the double-loading behaviour if you try running it without it being loaded at boot.

...

This console exists only for waifus, doesn't it? And a lot of it doesn't even get a western release. Everything is moving to mobile. What's the point anymore, beside it looking nicer than any other handheld?

Nope.

What do Western releases have to do with anything?

It's not only for waifus but it is certainly the premier waifu box.

lmao at the state of Holla Forums

Technically it's vita CIAngel.

I've been looking for a good dungo crawler are stranger in sword city or Mary Skelter any good?

Well that took me by surprise. Is there any way to edit a save file and add more Fan Damacy, or to unlock the bonus levels? Katamari may be fun, but not fun enough to grind for hours to unlock a few mediocre bonus levels.

No time for Vitan tonight.

They're more or less the same type of program. It's just that CIAngel and pkgi are just a lot more spartan than freeShop, which is a mighty fine piece of work, very professional-looking.

Quite. It's a strong appeal for me.

Anyone got the chart?

I'm surprised that's what they're charging for. Not, y'know, the DLC stages. Small favours. I'd like to know this too, but it's irrelevant until someone dumps them for NoNpDrm. I'm keeping my system Mai-free now.

The Fan Damacy are used to unlock the DLC stages. 5 unlock one stage, and one shows up in every ~20 levels.
Can you do microtransactions over Mai? I might be in luck because I haven't gotten around to replacing everything yet; katamari is still installed via Mai

It's 10 per stage isn't it? Either way it's a ridiculous grind to get them legitimately, and I think I only played the maid stage. Mai can't handle official DLC or patching or anything that wasn't done at time of dumping. Vitas that can use pirating can't download from PSN so we won't know if it works with NoNpDrm. In any case we really need PSN back.

Unfortunately I actually had the DLC legitimately downloaded but screwed up and lost it. It seems no one else has it either, ludicrously.

I want that uta art book. Might have to bite the bullet on expensive shipping. Or maybe wait for a nice honto coupon.

Metal Max Xeno looks pretty cool and I'm excited for that Virtual ON. I didn't even know it was coming to Vita.

Spacing in the image aside, bit surprised to see Metal Max coming back to Sony, given both that aside from Saga on the PS2, it's generally been a third-party Nintendo series, and the last two entries mobile (which had me wondering if it was getting relegated to Mobile Hell for the future). Good to see that old series managing to stick around, and with actual games too, even if usually Japan only.

"Oh boy new Virtual O-"

Fuck

Why is it that the people who use moeblob don't even know what moe even means? It's like saying "I hate things that are endearing." which sounds retarded. I don't blame you for not wanting the crossword but why the buzzword?

Fuck NISA.

Also, I'm home.

Do you think we'll ever have piracy over 3.60?

I hope i can get her route and actually marry her

Anyone playing Mary Skelter found a good build for Sleeping Beauty? I want her tits on my team but I can't decide what her role will be in my Blood Lord and Destroyer focused team.

I ended up getting Stranger of Sword City revisited and I am loving it so far. The art is fucking great and the game is solid.
To be honest the art for DT2, DG, and MS:N turned me off a little (less so for MS:N though)

Fuck. Psvsd is ALREADY sold out.

Metal Max Xeno (PSV/PS4)

Finally got a bit of time for games. I'll decide what to play with my post ID.

At least there's more to come. They're probably not quite as in demand as the regular ones. I use my other Vita for cartridge dumping now so it's not such an issue tying that slot up. 200GB is so liberating.

Occultic;Nine trailer

Alt link for stupid region locking. Why even bother if you're just gonna chuck it up on a region-free video host?

nicovideo.jp/watch/sm32176719

Also I repeat: What in sweet hell is going on with those boobs?

...

Any chance of this being translated- and by anyone good?

Hah.

Fair point-but still any word of a western release? Or even an Asia w/english subs?

That's no explanation but I can't exactly say no to Eiken-level breasts.

I’d assume PQube will pick it up.

Macromastia. Genetic condition that gives super huge breasts. It can't be helped.

Apparently there's another loophole for PSN downloading of doing it on a current firmware system, then transferring the memory card provided both are activated on the same PSN account. I've still got the activation files for my spare system so I'll be scouting out a used PSTV soon. At the very least it'll be nice to have something for the later firmware games, and if it can in fact be used for dumping PSN content, so much the better. It's critical to get things off there before it's lost.

Sadly it's a Eurotrash account and it's not possible to do up a JP one.

Thanks. Yeah, I'm still cool with it. And honestly as ridiculous as they are at least the clothes aren't just shaped to them.

Looks like Blue Reflection was censored for western release.

Pretty sure that's just a given for any Western release

What a surprise. Also thanks for telling us how it was done.

Thank you for this post, user.

good to know this, now i can buy the game and refund it for it while leaving negative anti censorship review

Not sure why the initial purchase is necessary

Started on Gravity Rush finally, it looks pretty nice but I'm hoping it isn't gonna be follow the markers the entire game. Also actually, any advice on finding used PSTVs in Australia? I suppose a regular Vita is fine too but I'm specifically after used PSTV for cheapness, and for a high chance of it to be at a later firmware. I cannot believe I'm saying that.

Thanks for encouraging me to find out what it was, and that it was porn and not some official manga thing. I would've believed it to be.

Yeah if it is don't bother. The hackers will get to fixing that on PC.

I'm actually glad I didn't buy it. This shit needs to stop.

Love that guy's paizuri works. Though most of his stuff contains that.

Well, that's very unfortunate. I was very gungho about getting around to playing this, but censorship always puts a mega damper on enthusiasm.

It's hella harcore

Ugh. As per I went looking for systems today. I couldn't find any PSTVs but I did find a used Vita. First gen scratched and beat up, not too expensive, but at some ancient firmware version 1.67. I'm tempted to just update it at this point but only if it actually will offer a way to dump PSN content for NPS/pkgi. Otherwise I'll keep it as spare parts for my recently acquired first-gen system and keep searching.

I'll leave that open for a couple of days. Is there anything anyone particularly wants off of Euro PSN that isn't available?

I thought you can dump licences fine just from a computer.

This is for contributing games/DLC that aren't presently on NPS. I need to get the games downloaded and playable on my 3.60 system so NoNpDrm can do its magic. At present the only avenue is to download them on a 3.65 system that's linked to the same PSN account.

I've extracted DL links, and have fake licenses for some of my games, so I can do some of it now. But yeah to go further I'm a bit hung up on updating that new 3.60 system.

jp.playstation.com/blog/detail/5934/20171101-psvita.html
Seems like an alright deal for a new vita.

It's a good thing I didn't buy it on an impulse. I want to start importing all my games, but I really don't have the money for all of it, I wish I could import used games or something

Nearing to what I think is the end of Mary Skelter. Game has been enjoyable and the nightmare gimmick in dungeons sure did spice things up by not letting me carelessly wander about. Class skills should have been looked at better by the devs as some are completely outclassed such as a buff that raises evasion versus a buff that raises evasion AND hit rate. Blood management is also another fun feature to manage during fights as the fights themselves are basic for a dungeon crawler.

Might have to revise the pasta about "used systems are very unlikely to be" since the last 3 used systems I found were hack-capable. It seems people neglect the things before finally pawning them off. Anyway I went ahead and updated that older system I just got, and luckily the trick of coping to the other activated Vita does in fact work so it was worth it in that instance.

Also god I'm approaching LIFE saturation.

Also still wanting someone to redump Bullet Girls 2. I can't believe it's only the first one done still and I can't stand how that one feels. It's off somehow.

twitter.com/LimitedRunDoug/status/926196826994302977

Jesus Christ this guy has some shit taste.

Picked up the 3G Vita today. $150 AUD. It only had the power plug and an 8GB SD, but the unit itself was in excellent condition and I'll be making it my primary system. Now all it needs is a PSVSD, I'll just use my SD2Vita in the meantime. Might lend the other first-gen to my mum so she can play Katamari and one or two other things. None of the trashy stuff I'm into obviously. Also slowly redownloading all my PSN content.

Goood times.

twitter.com/RealStrictlyLTD/status/926770991237181440

dualshockers.com/shantae-half-genie-hero-new-character-dlc/

New system is working fine, and the OLED splotches are much less pronounced than on the other 2. I did have to delete my saves since the new system isn't associated with PSN at all, and it was popping up the trophy nag for everything, even homebrew humourously. At the moment it needs a screen protector, and I'm keeping a close eye for when PSVSD is restocked. Put Quake/Quake2/Hexen2 on there for later.

Presently playing Nepran Kagura, it's the sort of mindless game I need right now.

Anything interesting coming out that's not in Moonrunes?

I think you're on the wrong board, this is the place for video games.

Yes-and that's what I'm asking about.
Fuckwit.

You're looking in the wrong hobby then, video games are almost exclusively a Japanese thing, the stuff made in English is all Social Justice Walking Simulators.

Does people still play EDF2 Portable?
It seems dead as fuck compared to EDF3 Portable where I could still manage to find japanese players one-two months ago.

Nice.
Any answers from someone who isn't a waste of their fathers sperm?

EDF is all I play lately. I only just got it, though. I'm very new. If you still haven't completed the Easy-Normal missions yet either, maybe we could play together? I like to play as Air Raider.

I've done Hard mostly as Ranger, and played a bit of Pale Wing and Air Raider.
Im currently up for a room

I can get in EDF multiplayer too.. but I'm average lvl I guess.

Do what I'm doing and just save money, my dude. Eventually, you'll hit a goal, slow as hell but worth it. Grind your moon in the meantime with what's available online for free.

EDF2 online room up

hehe sometimes I spam missiles like a retard that I hit a wall and die.

Here's a less obnoxious answer for you. Since uncharted and the other "western market" games didn't sell enough, western devs have decided nobody likes the vita and don't bother making stuff for it any more and game stores don't even bother keeping shelf space for it.
I miss studio Liverpool. I want another Wipeout.

Just learned you can't use content manager without some sort of PSN account, not even for media files. That's cute. I created a Nip one for it under certain hope.

Also how did this game not have a dressing room? It's the most basic thing in a Senran game and I want to touch the Neps. I guess there's the in-stage viewing option, and the HDD outfits were made for lewding.

You're way too charitable to that man. Also yup, the couple of games at our local shop are right at the bottom of the used PS3 games. Not dignified at all.

Where I live, Gamestop (at least last time I went into one, which was admittedly months ago over a game I couldn't find anywhere else) gives Vita games the side of the rack they keep still-unsold new PS3 games on. Most of what they have seems to be cart only though with those shitty Gamestop covers printed and placed in the cases. They still stock for it though at least (again, last I as in one); heard Commiefornia already dropped it at some locations.

Best independent store I know of keeps a small row of preowned Vita games (and I mean actual games, not just Farming Simulator, Little Deviants, and whatever else Sony thought would be popular on the system in the west) in a display case, alongside memory cards and cart only games as well. Even seen the occasional import title there too, like Tales of Innocence R. It's not much, but they do make something of an effort. Beyond them, the local mutimedia places can be very hit or miss for the Vita, mostly being the usual Gravity Rush/Little Deviants/MLB2kwhatever, etc, but occasionally they've had something beyond those in good shape. Once found a complete, unopened LE of the HotL#NiQ/Yomawari bundle for $25 there, and I think last I was in they had EDF2 for either $15 or $5 (I'm not sure, case had stickers for both on it). Aside from special editions though, they're just relegated to an undignified rack by a bunch of rows for original DS games (and one location doesn't seem to even bother stocking for it anymore; would guess they ship what they do get in for it to one or both of the other local ones).

Arizona Gamestops always have a huge variety of Vita games. Sometimes, they have nearly the whole Vita library.
It's weird because I have … never met a weeaboo here in this state in my life.
I had a Vita since back when Near was still a thing and I'd run it sometimes and there'd only be two Vita owners for miles and they both were inactive retard normalfags who played Call of Duty.

I suppose there was a copy of Ninja Gaiden Sigma+ that I wanted and couldn't afford. I figured it wasn't a big deal and anticipated it'd sit on the shelf forever waiting for me to buy it later. Next week, it was gone. There are elusive weeaboos here that I wish I could befriend.

Yeah I was speaking of EB Games, basically Gamestop, I think they own the brand even. It's been pretty true across all their shops I've been to. Normally they just have crap but I did pick up EDF2 and P4G from one of them. The best place locally to get Vita games has an entire shelf of the things but they don't sell JP games at all despite being an anime&manga shop, and having some EU/USA imports. Also fun fact, the 3G Vita I just acquired was from Gametraders off all places. They have basically no Vita games.

That's why the games are there then. No one is buying them.

I thought if no one bought them that they'd get rid of them, though?

In my experiences I wouldn't say they have nearly the whole library, as I myself have had trouble finding certain games, even well selling (for the Vita, I mean) titles locally before (though the fact I refuse to buy cart-only might play into that), but yeah, Gamestop out here still has a half-decent selection at times for it, at least last I was in the local one. Between that, and the ability to check online to see if anywhere near you has something in particular, they're probably the more reliable brick and mortar store to specifically find things for the Vita at, assuming you're not just going to be buying games online or pirating anyhow.

You'd be surprised what I find turn up every so often at second hand stores; albeit not so much for the Vita, but stuff like the PS2 and PS3. There's more fans of Japanese games here, going beyond the mainstream games/series that normalfags play or at least know of, I mean, than I'd first expect, as they occasionally turn in decent and/or niche Japanese games. Just something that struck me over the last few years as to what I've seen around. I suppose whether the prior owners were "weeaboos" or not depends on what meaning of the word you're going off of (be it the original, or the "current" one), and/or what sort of games (or other media) one is interested in that you feel constitutes being one. Really though, you might want to be careful with that wish. I would wager at least some know to properly mask their power levels and hence you don't actually them much, but I've also seen a fair amount that had no interest in doing so back when I was taking classes

Where you at exactly? Might be worth bringing up in the thread if I see anything decent at a local store (that I'm not interested in myself) if there's another user in he area that's a regular who might benefit from it. For example, I once found a copy of AnS+ out here going for half the average at the time at a store here that I tried letting anons know about in here in the past, but I think it was too far from anyone to be able to buy at the time (and the store was still trying to work some kinks out of their online storefront when it comes to games with no on-cover barcodes or retail physical release, like cart only copies and online-sold-only limited prints).

That's odd. I mean, a number of stores out here where I am will take imports, especially for region free systems (as those are easier to test/sell as they don't require a separate system), and not all of them are out-and-out weeb shops either. Interestingly, the one game store I know that makes an extra effort to specifically double as selling anime and anime accessories honestly doesn't have too good a Vita section (let alone prices if memory of when I was last in serves).

He'd have to elaborate on if they were "new" ("gutted" is liable to be more apt, really; I doubt they have ANY sealed copies behind the counters after the first day something came out) copies, or preowned ones. Because with the latter obviously someone out there originally picked it up to begin with, though whether anyone else that goes there wants it would indeed be the question.

I don't think Gamestop can just "get rid" of unsold games, at least until they out-and-out cannot stock for a system anymore, in which case they're more likely to destroy what's unsold after running clearance sales to try to recoup a it of money, than just get rid of (let alone donate) the games. Ability to write off taxes on destroyed merchandise as compared to unsold stuff, or so I've heard from other anons in the past. Until then though, they might keep marking things down over time to get it to move on, and trash cases/covers/manuals (as they did with the DS) to make more space, before the final decree comes down.

They're new games, and also it's probably to do with the ratings board as localizations don't generally change between regions but do from the original. They have our rating slapped on the box so it'd have to basically be the same game for that to happen or need resubmission. DT2 for example is MA-15 but if it was the Nip version it'd probably get the full R-18.

Grade A+ edit

Yeah, for the most part I'm talking used copies as imports at that store, so they're basically copies that had already been imported by the/a previous owner. Those stores don't exactly import them themselves.

Well thanks for that but really all I'm looking for is good translated games forthcoming.

...

Has anyone ever bought secondhand games from amazon.co.jp? I was about to buy the reprints of DT2 and ToHeart2:DT off of AmiAmi, but they sold out of DT2. I don't know if they'll ever restock, so I might try buying used for the first time

Mostly asking about the condition of the items. On a side note, what other drpgs are worth playing besides Demon Gaze and Mary Skelter?

Coven and Labyrinth of Refrain. Also been having fun with Tokyo Clanpool - mostly easy, but already finding hidden bosses that are kicking my ass, and I'm sure there'll be more later.

The mandatory Dungeon Travelers 2 is something you need in your library. Moe Chronicle is also worthy of mention although cheaper to get the PC version instead. Stranger of Sword City is also an option is you like hardcore permadeath for characters plus there is even a revisited version available but is sadly digital only.

The Black Palace one? It had a physical release, even came with a novel.

I must be bad at finding it as this is the only place I can find the game. store.playstation.com/#!/en-us/games/stranger-of-sword-city-revisited/cid=UP3489-PCSE01052_00-SOSCBLACKPALACEA

Ah, there's the problem then, no idea on what foreign releases were like.

amazon.co.jp/dp/B01J148V1K/

gematsu.com/2017/11/utawarerumono-remake-announced-ps4-ps-vita

Not yet, and not for a while yet. Though the secondhand stuff I've gotten from Japan on a whole always shows up in good to mint condition. This is from eBay and eng listing jp items. Also remember to actually dig into listings on the ENG Amazon, because Japanese will have storefronts there, too. Gotten more than a few Vita games for cheap, that way that are hard to come by or never see a sale or discount.

While on that subject, are sales just brick&mortar exclusive in Japan? Essentially PSNetwork JPN almost NEVER holds reduced priced goods or meaty sales. Compare most Compile Heart titles here to their JPN store equivalents or even Amazon and they go for heavy yen, years after release. Shit's boggling.

Also speaking thereof, Japan's having a Spike Chunsoft sale on PSN, as well as Simple Doujin, the house that made that light-leveled 3D beatemup with cute girls with the French name that escapes me. Croix Sigma something or other. Criminal Girls (JPN) is also on sale, as well as bundled (1 & 2) for 5000 yen.

And final question for those who have DT2-2: What's the DLC look like to you? Are those bonus dungeons fun?

Digital download in general is overpriced as shit, which is why everyone prefers physical.

...

It's more to do with how physical products in general depreciate.

Digital games don't re-enter the market "used", in general sealed physical copies stay at base or go up in price as time goes on while the used copies are just seen as "the game" in most cases obviously not all
They don't have to remove digital games for space on shelves LICENSING ISSUES WHERE YOU AT THO? , in general if you have a ton of unused physical stock in means your game bombed and must now be price cut heavily.

Digital shit has a fuckload of issues that physical doesn't have though

High price for what is essentially just a key I know this is what you just said I understand still needing to pay devs/publishers/etc but there is no cost associated with printing disks/cases/etc or retailer cuts so they're literally just maintaining price because the market allows them to because DIGITAL IS DA FUTURE

maintaining their full price for far too long, there are games from years back that still seem to be sold for 40$, that's fucking retarded, 95% of the people who were going to buy it at that price have bought it. I assume they only maintain that price to make "sales" look better Which in most cases is only impulse buys because used physical copies are the same or lower quite often

The most obvious that normalfags like to avoid talking about is, what happens when the service is discontinued, where the prevailing excuse is
but they ignore the fine print on every fucking title they buy where it says

Obviously they're going to cut the adult content for the console releases but I hope they release an actual PC version of the "second arc" or whatever they're calling it. I'm really sick companies building up a fanbase around decent sexual content with actual gameplay and then cucking out for normalfagbux.

I've only seen that happen with relatively obscure and very small print games like Rune Factory or Dungeon Travelers, or with limited editions. Generally shit gets cheap as fuck - 3DS, but as an example Bravely Second was down to 2000 within six months, and about a year after launch I saw going for just under 1000 for a brand new sealed copy, all while it was still going for over 6000 on the eShop.

Monster Hunter games do anything but bomb and yet their prices drop pretty quickly on physical.

Have to replay this because fuck mission 32. I don't even know faintly how the hell to get past it aside of exploiting the game over saved level grinding.

Not always. The only shit I can think that's consistently expensive in our market is shitty AAA dreck, and even that actually drops from initial pricing pretty often. Niche stuff here always has a sale, too.

JPN, tho, unless it's a "Sony The Best" release, it's almost always marked high no matter the time that passes. Jewish as fuck, Japan. I shouldn't have to shovel over nearly 7000 yen for Moe Crystal.

Upside: When there's a sale? There really is a sale. Got Bullet Girls that way dirt-cheap. Will probably snag Criminal Girls the same way, and enjoy my pink fog always clearing up like it's damn-well supposed to.

Underwater Ray Romano already had an all-ages release on the PS2, m8. This one just has trophies, some extra BG polish, and attached animu extras.

Can't speak on foreign markets, but near as I can tell the only point of digital is to skip middlemen so that the seller can control the market, which is why other retailers like Joshin or Amazon or Rakuten remain popular, since they'll drop prices to compete or move product. Add on the fact that you're getting more by definition of it being a physical product, and often it comes with extra shit like drama CDs or the like, and there's really no reason to ever buy digital.

This is what I call the foreign devil tax. When I lived in Japan, I could walk into a used game store and come out with a factory sealed copy of a game that was a few years old for the equivalent of $7. Now, my options are amazon.com or play asia, both of which would have that game for full or near full price.

I do most of my shopping online or in specific purpose stores but what I notice with games that gain massive value is that generally either a game is overlooked by the masses or just incredibly niche at the time, similar to Persona or Fire Emblem before they became school life/waifu sims. If the game gains popularity later the price of sealed copies shoots up because everybody wants to claim to be OG.

Obviously the games that everybody and their mother got a copy of won't be $60 next year. The shit that sells several million units is generally purchased by for lack of being able to articulate the CoDkids/normalfag audience. Those games will most definitely not retain their value because they are, in general, franchises that have yearly/biyearly releases and are designed in a way that you need the newest version of the same game to really enjoy what you bought it for.

Is that really a fair example considering most people got pissy about the first one being the same game for hours after the second half? It is entirely possible the game didn't sell as much as they were expecting and they started cutting price to move them.

I can agree with this example but also offer a reason as to why this is. MH games are as much as it is possible to enjoy them SP for the most part multiplayer focused games, they also see several rereleases per generation sometimes even year to year so, similar to sports games, they don't retain retail price or value beyond a few months when the next release is inevitably announced.

I think Digital should try to compete with physical sales in ways other than price. Obviously not rock bottom
shit but enough that digital is competing with physical in other areas than
Like, for instance, not charging half the price of the console for a decently sized memory card and reducing the price regularly as the physical price falls. I don't mind paying an additional $10 for a digital copy a year down the line but when a disc is $15 and the digital copy is still $50 there's an obvious problem.

But are they going to port the later entries to PC and add the lewd content? Probably not.

It's because if they sell more digital copies they can rationalize not producing physical copies/scaled back numbers to reduce the costs associated with it AND get to keep the money that is baked into the game's price to account for that. The normalfag riot that would happen if digital games were $10-$15 less because of that would be massive.

In a perfect world they'd actually attempt to highlight the benefits of both mediums. Instead they're too focused on getting as much money and control as possible as their consoles get further and further behind in specs.

If there was a product that somebody in Japan wanted to buy from the US would it be more or less expensive than a domestic product?
You can do that in the US too, just not any chains/common stores, you'll be looking for independent retailers.
Amazon sellers are generally importers or scalpers both of which have to sell their products for a certain amount to make money. They have also or will be shipping internationally which can get expensive very fast. With enough stock you can pretty much set your own price and coast selling older product until your newer product gets to the selling price you want.

As for playasia

I've probably purchased one thing from them ever and I still get emails weekly about their SUPER AMAZING DEALS which the earlier mentioned amazon scalpers even tend to beat at 250% markup so honestly not really a competitor unless you're looking for actual hardware which, for the most part, isn't horrible.

The way I see it is, the online retailers tend to be cheaper than buying a plane ticket to Japan to buy the shit I want unless you're getting a fuckload of shit in which case, maybe an offseason airplane ticket and an empty luggage bag is for you

...

So where is the PC version?

New lines and voice acting? Will I get to hear Sawashiro's deliciouso loli voice again, now that it's been refined and tempered through the years? That'd be one of the few things that'd make me look past the distate of no lewd and purchase this (albeit dirt cheap after the fact.)

I tend to do online shopping a lot simply because 324 for cash on delivery is much cheaper than a train ticket just about anywhere.

I don't recall hearing any complaints like that over here, only from foreigners. Even now, looking over Amazon it looks to be generally positive reviews, with the most credible complaints (as in, not the guy who gave it one star complaining that even on "Easy" it was too hard) being more centered on how it doesn't have nearly as large a world as the game it's so clearly a successor to, FF5, with only four small towns and a cramped world map.

Either way, the point still stands that while the physical price dropped heavily, the digital continued to stay high.

For the sake of argument, I can go down to a supermarket and get this for 790 (+8% tax for a total of 853), which Google puts at $6.97 rounded up. While I haven't seen them sold in this particular bite-sized format per se, domestic chocolate bars like Meiji and Dars are definitely cheaper.

I want GAF to leave

Welcome back, user.

Were the lewds in the original even good?

Does that matter? Even if they were mollusk-tier, their removal should never be supported.

It is a good point but there is no explanation as to why it kept it's price other than
especially when the physical copies are dropping price rapidly because it tends to mean the game flopped and they're trying to clear stock.

I wasn't very clear with the point I was trying to make with that, I was trying to point out that getting a product produced or shipped locally is going to be cheaper than a product that is obtained through import, even a (((localized))) copy is going to be more expensive than the equivalent age (for example, one year after release date) of an original copy (in their respective marketplaces) solely due to the "effort" required to bring it over.

With importing "older games" that would only cost them $10 they can rationalize keeping it full price because

I wonder if there will ever be a console maker that doesn't go full prude on nudity/sex scenes?

In the past it could be rationalized because physical sales were the bulk of their profits and retailers refused to carry adult/unrated rated video games movies and books with the same or worse themes are ok though, seems to be specific to video games I wonder (((why?))) but now that digital is actually taking off and DIGITAL GAMES DON'T NEED TO BE RATED TO BE SOLD (unless you're Sony who is apparently going full retard) they have no reason to not just have a sequestered section of the store that has the content that is too lewd for virgin eyes or whatever their excuse is.

Not only that, online retailers don't give a shit about adult content either and they make up a large portion of the market and could actually sell the physical "lewd" games so currently the only excuse is

Can't speak on other goods, but because of the distorted mutant of a microcosm that is anime sales in Japan, a lot of fans will regularly import western published variations on them because they're cheaper. This is also why Aniplex refuses to allow other publishers to push their overpriced goods—they want to control the flow of revenue nationally and internationally. You want Fate/Zero or Megukas cheap? Tough shit know your place silly gaijin/countryman commoner.

Had I a contact in Japan like that, I'd never spend exorbitantly ever again. But the one I knew was a manic retard who wigged out about shit and thus wasn't worth trying to conduct business through.

I miss bus user and his offers.

On a scale of KEY to…well, shit. I've never actually run across an eroge with jaw-dropping good lewd scenes. KEY is the worst, however. It's the one time I'm actively glad their rereleases are all ages.

Utawarerumono sits somewhat average, nothing to write home about. No voice acting. and you don't get to nail Aruru, for the curious. Tiger bitch was the worst, but that's because she's a thot through and through. I hate her character. Everyone else had charm and there's plenty in the game that's genuinely hilarious or heartfelt but still hilarious.

And it's not lewd-centric. You play for the plot, not the smut. Until you get to Sorty 32. Then you just fucking die over and over again.

TELL ME THIS IS A JOKE
PLEASE
wakemeupinside.jpg

If not, they might as well put Undertale in this forsaken system.

So, user, where did Jill touch you?

Also, Undertale is coming to the Vita. Was confirmed a long time ago.

That's my point though, digital is a shitty thing that no one bothers with for that reason.

Digital itself isn't really the problem, it is the companies that use it.

Console manufacturers and publishers use it to get a bigger cut and use the
bullshit to hold people hostage to a particular platform

Devs use it to release shovelware, it's cheap and ok because

(((localizers))) use it as a way to release shit they know has some audience and put zero actual effort into. Yes, "learn moon, it's better, etc

I would say the price staying high is just a side effect of those problems. Physical games have to compete between retailers, digital games on console only have one place to get them.

I hope they kept hard mode hard. Ut2 and ut3's hard mode were jokes.

I remember the battle in middle PIC made me hide my whole team in an alley in order to avoid butt rape.

Just Crypt of the Necrodancer lately, and waiting for PSVSD to restock.

Step 1: 3.60 + HENkaku
Step 2: Now Undertale is no longer compatible!

Which is what defines it, really. You might as well say "It's not Communism that's the problem, it's the people who used it"

Exactly why physical is better.

It's what defines it on consoles. On PC where digital distribution took off years ago other than a few retards who need their own storefront for their special games there is competition between digital distributors. Even with the special idiots they tend to drop prices quickly and have sales early on.

As with everything, service improves and prices drop faster when there is more competition. That will never come to digital storefronts on consoles because they own the entire ecosystem.

Physical is also better because, as much as they can try to claim they've only sold you a license to a game, you own a physical disk/cart that has the game data and even if they ban you the cart doesn't suddenly stop existing.

Which is where games are - PC is basically just a foreigner only thing.

Started the last Utawarerumono but couldn't bring over my items because the regions of the games didn't line up, it's alright though having the 1hp revive on half my team would've been too cheese.
The hard difficulty is a lot more fun this time around. It feels like they're trying to make me bring whoever is useful for the given map rather than my core players, for example bringing taunt characters to the big bosses that swipe your entire team.
There's so many playable characters this time around it becomes hard to decide which you want to focus BP on. Anju/Nekone/Rulutieh those I will try to bring to every map for now.

so why is Bastion as "pre-order" on play-asia?
is play-asia doing phisycal releases?
play-asia.com/bastion/13/708fcv

I want to write a longer response to this but I get the feeling you will just get autistically defensive and start sperging out and ruining the thread, so I'll just call you a retard.

Fine, replace "Communism" with something else - tie-dye fashion, for instance. The point still stands though to begin with, if video games aren't just as if not more important to you than failed political/economic theories, I don't know what the fuck you're doing here.

So Demon Gaze 2 is getting a global edition like the first game where it comes with the DLC and both dual audio and text. Not confirmed but they're assuming that the translation they're using is the same as the NISA one.
archive.is/wBqgF

Anyone know if the translation for this game is fucked or not? First game was fine but I don't know about this one.

It's still NISA, regardless. Doesn't that say enough?

It does raise an interesting point though. If I purchase the definitive edition straight from nippon, but it uses NISA "translation" in it, then surely through the power of licensing and other bullshit, that'll still be supporting NISA, right? I rather doubt Experience would do a Western release through NISA, and simultaneously do an in-house translation for this Global Edition release a mere month later, so it has to be NISA text in it. This is quite troubling.

Why didn't the regions line up? Both Japanese uta2 and uta3 should be patch into English.

And only one of each of your items carry over. Which is still quite nice.

You could just buy the original game instead of the Global then

Foreword: This does not allow playable 3.61 games. Right. Mildly interesting development. It's now possible to do game decryption on a PC. You still need a Vita for getting the klicensee but the rest can be done on PC. At present there is a requirement for some online service though, not sure why it was done like that.

github.com/motoharu-gosuto/psvpfstools

It is possible to decrypt 3.61 games with it but that was already possible with VitaShell, and that's not enough to make them playable, for whatever reason. But, if they're able to rewrite parts of the DRM system externally that's good news for future emulators or hacking.

Besides that, just more Jet Set Radio for me. As clunky as the game feels I appreciate having more direct control over my movement than say, modern Sonic games compared to the earlier 3D ones. It's fun and presentation-wise it's top-notch.

Fuck, for a moment i read "this allow playble 3.61 games". Anyway finally some step forward. Hopefully this will help in the process of making games requiring over 3.60 playable.

PFS Decryption was already possible on the vita, this is just a PC tool to do the same. You can read on the main page why the F00d service is used.

The assets of higher FW were previously able to be decrypted. That's how a few games released later were given Frankenstein copies using the JP eboot with the English assets.

It's the eboot that needs to be modified or read in a way that it can be used on 3.60.

What I don't get is why it has to be online like that. Maybe they'll upload the site's sources later though like they have for the HENkaku browser entrypoint. It's a worry having it only available in a single place like that, particularly as a way of future-proofing the decryption part.

That's my answer, thanks.

I recently got a PCH-1000 Vita with 3.60 and HENkaku 7 installed, and I have several questions:
1. Are there any downsides to updating to the latest HENkaku? If not, do I just follow the update instructions on their site?
2. Should I install ensō? This already has Offline Installer and Adrenaline installed, will installing ensō break those?
3. Is it safe to factory reset? Will I be able to just install all this shit again without any problems?
The Vita still has the previous owner's PSN account tied to it, if that affects anything.

No, yes.
Yes. No.
Only if you backup your saves and activation files. Yes.
See above. Activation files are nice to have.

Thanks. Are activation files tied to the PSN account? Could I use my current activation files with a new account or with none at all?

Since the activation files are tiny you may as well keep them. Back up the following to your PC:
vd0:registry/system.dreg
vd0:registry/system.ireg
tm0:npdrm/act.dat

However they are console-specific and account-specific so they're useless to you unless he'll part with his PSN account and the system is still even activated on it. If you factory reset don't even think about copying them back. Falsified activation can result in a console ban, not sure if invalid will.

On a 3.60 system, activation is only useful for dumping PSN games if you have a second Vita running latest on the same PSN account (presently the only way to do it), or for playing online. It's no longer necessary for Adrenaline thank god, and isn't needed for running pkgi. Right now it's not possible to activate a system running a lower firmware. You still might want a dummy PSN account set up on there for using content manager, but it'll have to be linked during the factory reset or it'll want you to update (don't of course).

Does the Vita have a hard game limit problem like the 3DS does?

The Vita allows up to 500 apps as of 3.10. You'll have a more difficult time keeping 500 apps on one card.

Might try switching around the in-game video ads in AT2, if it's easy to encode the things. I'm getting a bit sick of the built-in ones. Any suggestions?

Yeah, the SD cards. But to give you a serious answer, it depends on your firmware. Old versions have a limit of 100 bubbles, but as of 3.10 the limit is 500 bubbles.

Well the homebrew guide says that there's an app that lets you use normal SD cards and I'm planning on getting a 128gb so size shouldn't be a major problem, should it?

You'd need to be on 3.60 if you haven't read that far yet.

128gb is fine and you most likely won't reach the limit unless you dl a shitload of shovelware or tiny utilities. Full games tend to be anywhere from 2-6GB so you won't even really reach the old limit unless you try intentionally. Although I believe there is homebrew to make bubbles for ROMs/emulators so you could hit the limit with that.

Thanks.

You shouldn't hit the bubble limit. Unlike 3DS you'll generally use a single bubble per emulator. The exception is if you're using shortcut bubbles for PSP or PS1 but that's optional, and CD-based games eat into storage much much more than 3DS injects do.

As for storage limits, that depends on what games you're into, most are at least 1GB, and some have a lot of space-consuming video in them. Localizations have an added sin tax if dual-audio. Normally people play cartridge copies to get around storage issues but that's not something you want to do with an SD2Vita.

Also neat, that was easy. Now to decide what to switch them with proper, Initial D and Di Gi Charat are mandatory.

Thanks. I'll probably put off the reset for a while.

twitter.com/NISAmerica/status/930569400511373313

They're just working as the LE distributors? They can't possibly have gotten rights to ruin them again, right? I thought we were out of the Berenstain universe.

If it's being sold on the NIS America site, then it's been cucked.

I only see the LE on the site, so they're probably just distributors. Is the west going to try to push the switch as the new vita? I feel like we're going to get less and less vita versions but more switch and steam versions.

Switch is the new Vita.

I wouldn't even pay for it even if there was a physical vita release. I'm never giving a dime to NISA

I would assume it's the usual: TK is publisher, but instead of making their own storefront for limited editions, moose off of NISA's store instead (causing a conundrum for those that want to support Gust's works but don't want to fund NISA's continued existence. At the very least, I would assume since it's PS4 and Switch, it's getting a standard physical retail/online release, unlike the Gust's Vita games which were intended as digital only here, and of which a handful got limited physicals.

For normalfags maybe. As much as people like to pretend the Switch is portable a tablet with 6 hours of battery life and "detachable" controller pieces is the opposite of portable unless you are a faggot with a messenger bag.

The Switch is only even successful as a portable because there is zero actual competition in the space. The best thing Sony did for the Switch was announce they weren't making a followup to the vita because now Nintendo doesn't need to make a new handheld, they can pretend the Switch was supposed to be the handheld and home console the entire time even though they've insisted that wasn't the case they were doing a test run to consolidate their hardware lines. Since it was successful they don't need to make a new handheld.

If it's being sold on a Nintendo console it's cucked. NoA is obsessed with its child friendly image to the detriment of releases over here.

It's very strange that, with how niche most of TK's releases are, they don't know how hated NISA is or just don't care. I can't tell which is the worse option.

Not enough parental abuse. Not enough weebshit.

I'm honestly wondering if they have some sort of standing deal with NISA, where even if they have since realized they've lost potential money rom fans due to using NISA, even for distribution, they can't just back out. Though, I suppose even if taking notice was the case, the sheer mount of people looking to get in on scalping makes up for the lost sales anyhow. Honestly though, there's clearly an audience for Gust's games here in the west, and TK has kept on bringing them over (or at least attempting to persuade Gust, in the case of Ciel Nosurge not coming over), and where I live PS3 copies have been plentiful despite Atelier and Ar Nosurge being pretty niche, even for JRPGs, and yet they apparently don't think there's enough audience to warrant doing standard retail/online releases? It's rather odd, especially when other companies like XSEED and (for better or worse) NISA have been more than happy to offer the option for various games.

At the very least, NISA can't handle the scripts or content of Gust's games anymore, but even using them for distribution is understandably an issue. Either you get stuck with digital release having infinite availability (as long as the game and service are offered, anyhow) that eats up a lot of memory card space, pay more than a regular release would cost to get a physical copy while giving NISA a percent of the profits, or deal with aftermarket scalpers hocking the limited physicals at increasingly horrid prices as time goes on.

Was deciding between Caligula Effect and Tokyo Xanadu, and decided to go with Caligula since TX can be played on PC also because all the male characters in TX looked like complete faggots, every one of them having some sort of "bored" look. I'm only just at the very beginning, but I can see why its considered iffy. There's about a gorillion tutorials for combat and the framerate tends to drop suddenly while walking around.
It also seems to be going for a cold opening, so you start, get a power, talk for a bit, and are now immediately in the club and searching for the bad guy group, no real explanation besides "this place is fake, we need to get out", which I guess fits since its not like you have anything else to do, but it makes it all a bit jarring, since it ends up being an fastforwarded plot, a ton of combat tutorial pop ups, and a shotty framerate on top of it.
Going to power through and see if the writing will live up the the hype.

you fell for the caligulafag shilling. wew

but yeah get TX on PC, we all know not a single one of us play our weebshit outside anyway.

It wouldn't surprise me if they did but there are very few contracts with no outs or some sort of
They may face a penalty or a "final" release but if they wanted to they could most likely get out. I'm guessing it's more of an easy way to get what amounts to nearly free money with little effort on their part.

I wouldn't mind if they did a physical release through IF or something like that if they just really were against doing it themselves I just don't want to give NISA money. It extends their ability to fuck up decent games. I'm also certain this is why they release one non retardedly fucked game every once in a while, that funds them the rest of the time because fuckers hear "Oh, NISA didn't fuck up a game one time? I BETTER SUPPORT THEM." Then they can go on destroying other games.

I think a lot of the hype came from people seeing
without realizing a game isn't two or three people.

Considering the rather blatant shilling for the new Yomawari around the board, and how "it was handled be NISA-Europe so it's fine and you should give NISA money for it even if you live in burgerland", that wouldn't shock me.

It seems so weird to shill on a website that probably sees just under 15000 users on average.

Other than a website for European customers to buy from NISA and a twitter I can't find them listed as an actual company anywhere, even as a subsidiary of NIS. This leads me to believe that, if anything, they are a shell for NISA to release shit in Europeland without paying import/foreign taxes or whatever. Which means they're the same goddamn people fucking up (((localizations))) with a different coat of paint.

Has nothing to do with being on a Nintendo console in that case, it's the fact that it's the NA/EU version instead of the actual game.

And yet they do it constantly, hence why there's so many who push garbage like MonHun World here.

NISA Europe is just a shell that the shills came up with as their final defense to get people to buy NISA trash. They’re that desperate.

Good thing the conversation was about NISA releasing something on the Switch in the US which involves NoA sensibilities or your statement would be relevant. It's too bad you're obsessed with letting everybody know how superior feel speaking Nip on an English speaking imageboard, when you aren't being an insufferable cunt you actually have somewhat interesting points to make.

I suspected that may have been the case when they thought it was a good idea to name themselves what amounts to "Nippon Ichi Software America Europe". It was somewhat confirmed by looking up the company and noticing they have no presence outside of being an arm of NISA. It's apparently working if people are defending them as "Not actually NISA".

It certainly does feel strange, given how NISA has stayed as "NISA" even when publishing games for other companies in Europe, instead of opening "NISE".

Looking to emulate SNES/GBA/nds on the vita. Are the PSP emulators still running better than the native vita ones?

I have not found any problems on the SNES and Mega-Drive emulators.

And again, my point was that by definition, if it's on NISA's site, it's cucked.

Not happening mate. Get a 3DS and flash card.

Pretty good on VBA Next, haven't tried MGBA yet, there's a standalone too not just the RetroArch core.

SNES9x 2002 is necessary for some games to run at full speed, but has ZSNES-tier sound. 2005 can work for some of them.

Speak for yourself, I do it, at least for the tamer weebshit.

I guess i'll go fuck myself.

Okay.

I only bought a PS Vita two months ago so that I could play Persona 4 Golden. It honestly was an impulse purchase because I got a nice deal on a used copy of both. I guess I'm having fun but Marie's a shit. I've almost beaten the game though, and I need to figure out what to play on it next.

The general recommendation is anything Vanillaware but what are you into? Check the OP chart for ideas although some of them are crap. It also depends how easy it is for you to get Vita games.

Super Robot Wars - the Z3 duology is great, and V is amazing.

Is the voltage/ ampage is too high or something it don't charge.

Which pisses me off because my battery banks won't charge my vita.

I like RPGs and waifu simulators. Anything that has both is a plus.

twitter.com/sekaiproject/status/931259723021803520

I finished Akiba's Beat. It was a pain. The game crashed twice. At some point, the mascot character bitched while the Madoka expy was getting gangraped by a boss fight. Tsundere was best girl but she's got less depth than the rest of the cardboard cutout cast. Most combat boiled down to spam skills and chug skill pots with the occasional weakness. Boss fights are damage sponges. The story fell flat when the flip flopping started. Not even going to do post-game content.

I will play more Trillion later. For now, I just got Mary Skelter and I'm really enjoying it so far. I could've gotten Demon Gaze 2, I played the first one but the MC here looks underaged and I would rather play an M-rated game for now. I am a shamefur edgelord.

Please kill yourself

Can't actually play Beat, but I'm afraid to even look at it given that AT:UU is one of my favourite games, as deeply flawed as it is. I'm presently replaying that, and also tried encoding the Nico Nico Douga medley #2, it's either too large or too long and just shows a dead monitor in-game. I'll have to trial and see what the actual limits are. Too bad too it's not possible to add arbitrary videos to the list, only the existing ones can be replaced.

Mine's got a 1A and a 2.4A port, that must be why they even do it.

Your ISP must adhere to RFC 1149.

Anyone find the D-pad on this thing a tad overrated? I'm liking my Vita a lot but I simply don't understand the hype around its D-pad.
It's fine. Functional. But nothing exceptional.

Is there another cake in AB? Shion was marriage material.

I liked the PSP dpad better since I have giant fingers.

Same here. I found all the buttons on the PSP 3000 to be extremely comfortable, whereas the Vita's face buttons practically maim my right thumb. I don't know what was the point of putting them in a concave area because there is no way my thumb is going to rest comfortable in that little indent.

LILLIKIN ARE CUTE.

CUTE

Fuck this gay earth.

It appears they are only the distributors of the physical collector's edition.

they are the LE distributors. they have always been I think.

The only recent time NISA hasn't touched an Atelier game at all was Firis because it never had a LE.

I was dead-tired when I saw it and acted as a dumbass. All the same, still won't go fishing for this one. Think I'll leave my Atelier buys from here on in in Japanese, only.

Prior to Atelier Ayesha PS3 (which was still caught in the rights transfer), NISA was the western localizer for every game in the series up to that point (which is like 10 games, including ports). You're right though in that they haven't touched the script/content of the Plus versions on the Vita, and have only been allowed to handle physical distribution.

On a related note, they have still tried to milk what they do still have, in that they have a PS3 bundle of all the Arland games, but anyone that plays that way is stuck with basic Rorona because they couldn't include the Plus version the PS3 saw instead (Rorona Plus being after the series switched to TK).

...

What ad-hoc game should I play with a casual?

Tried edf 2 and he didn't like aiming with r stick. Tried freedom wars and he thought there's too much reading. Tried gundam extreme vs force and we both decided the controls were clunky poop.

Thinking of trying lumines next.

Too bad vita retroarch doesn't support netplay…

Ended up having fun with virtua tennis 4, metal slug 3, and puyopuyo tetris (I can't believe tetris ultimate didn't have ad-hoc. ubisoft a shit), and sonic all-star racing.

Also couldn't believe motorstorm didn't have ad-hoc either.

Tried wipeout too but we didn't quite get the game.
UMVC3 but it was too one sided.

Which one of you was total trash?

Is that a Gintama musou game? Whatever it is, it probably won't ever get an overseas release.

me.

Has anyone completed Mary Skelter's Underground Cavern? I cleared the dungeon and the cutscene for it had a doorway showing another jail tower. No further explanation was done outside of the characters starting to believe that the rest of the cities out in the world were engulfed by jails. So, uh, is there any further development on that or did the game just decide to end it there?

blackfriday is coming soon.
Any cheap vita sales out there? i need to buy a new one.

Sophie > Rorona >Totori >Meruru > Escha

gematsu.com/2017/11/romancing-saga-2-ps-vita-consoles-launches-december-west

...

It's great otherwise to have the PSP/PS1 classics (Gachitora, Summon Night, Vagrant Story, the Nippon Ichi Software and Falcom titles, Growlanser & Langrisser, I.Q., Zettai Zetsumei Toshi 3, etc). Would have definitively liked more Vita ports from the PS2 era though, such as GrimGrimoire (as it's the sole Vanillaware title not available on the handheld), Akai Ito & Aoi Shiro two excellent yuri VNs, the other Growlanser games that werent ported on PSP and a couple more of niche titles.

On the hand, the Vita is still getting an Utawarerumono enhanced port from the PS2/PSP version, and Doukoku Soshite which is also another enhanced port, of a a mystery point&click/VN from the Sega Saturn. So I guess it's still answering a bit to my wishes.

In Japan, yeah.

Your tastes a shit, my good sir.

Speaking thereof, anyone had experience getting JPSN games on their PSP, not-pirated? I have yet to run into a game that doesn't play on my Vita, but at the same time I want to be prepared, have the memory space for my PSP, but as you all recall Sony shut out PSP support earlier this year.

videogamesplus.ca/specials.php
Some vita games deals

I probably deserved this.

Used systems sold to Gamestop or the like will most likely be wiped/updated.
Amazon is a tossup on used/refurbished systems.
PSTVs new are decently cheap and are all hackable due to them being discontinued if portability isn't a problem for you.

Your best bet is probably going to be buying an unsealed US bundle or an unsealed US vita taking special care to make sure it is a produced FOR USA/EU Vita, JP still has new models coming out and those come with 3.61+ only

I don't think I want to try my luck with these things again. Is there any possibility of a new exploit at all in the future?

Probably not due to the low interest from actual devs. and tomorrow 3.65 to prove me wrong

Buying a new American Vita or bundle is a sure thing, as long as it is new.

Oh, I thought there was some drama or something involving hekaku. I guess I'm just going to lurk in these threads forever.

There is drama involving henkaku, it's made by a bunch of dramafags

Two bits of news. PSVSD is restocked, about bloody time.

spheresolid.com/

Also NoPayStation migrated to a proper site similar to the one for 3DS. You can add the link to the DB in pkgi's config as well. I'll document that at some point before next thread.

nopaystation.com/

I'm just playing shitty Nep beat-em-ups and Necrodancing.

Yeah where you buy it from matters a lot. Pawn brokers seem to attract unloved Vitas at ancient firmware versions, although they also cost more. Bottom line: Always ask if buying locally, I did that for the last 3 systems I acquired.

Instead of reselling that system you could try looking for a 3.60 main board for your model. They're fairly cheap compared to the full unit.

Figures the vita goes when I get interested. Hopefully amazon can help.

How do I transfer all my data from the memory stick to the SD2VIta card?

Assuming the SD card is formatted correctly, literally just copy-paste everything. It's super-convenient.

I'm already terrified when I'm homebrewing shit on the software level, if I did it on the hardware level I'd probably have a heart attack.

Newfag to Vitas here, I'm gonna buy one for Black Friday most likely.
Is it worth using the SD card adapters out there (and are they legit), or are the Vita memory cards worth it? What are the best games for the system in terms of shit like JRPGs, SRPGs, ARPGs and whatnot? Anything with a great story is appreciated

It's not too complicated. No soldering or anything like that, just be careful. You just need to get the correct board for your Vita revision (lower edge sticker, it'll be something like PCH-XXXX).

ifixit.com/Guide/PlayStation Vita Motherboard Replacement/8115

The official SD cards are expensive pieces of shit there's a good reason they're universally reviled. I'd say it's totally worth using an adapter even with its disadvantages. Be aware that you must have a hackable system to use any alternate storage. Refer to hack pasta for details, and disadvantages.

lukiegames usually has them for breddy cheap, got mine for a hundred buckaroos half a year ago or so

You'd have to transfer the games onto your PSP through a PS3.

holy shit these dudes have good deals, thanks user

I'll keep that in mind user.

If you have a OLED one you should just buy a mainboard from aliexpress. Cost me 22€ with shipping. Swapping the mainboards was easy and you can always switch you vita to 3.65 to play new games if you really want.

Speaking of mainboard swapping, has anyone ever tried putting a 3g board in a non-3g shell?

Gonna test this if I can with Tales and let y'all know the results. My issue is that I dunno if cross-account uploads are possible (read: bought Tales of Phantasia on my Japanese account, only have Eng account on my PSP).

Oh neat I just learned that not only does JP's CotN have a few extras courtesy of SC, it's still in English. Guess I'm using that one in future. Yeah they eventually ported them to foreign versions but only at 3.61+

Internet says it can be done but it's probably way too much effort. Additionally there won't be an access slot on the side for the SIM SD card.

gbatemp.net/threads/ps-vita-3g-motherboard-question.481967/

Oh yeah it's definitely worth going a bit further for an OLED. 3G or not.

Softmod it boy. No need to put up with stupid Sony when you don't have to.

How possible is it to replace a Vita's battery? Mine's charge is starting to go.

Simple. You just open it up, remove the battery, and put in another one.

Is this the right battery for a 1000? Near as I can tell Sony's site doesn't actually sell the battery itself, so want to make sure I buy the right thing amazon.co.jp/dp/B013JPJ3M8/

I don't want to pirate my games anymore, so unless there's a softmod to tie two accounts to one PSP, it's not an option.

Have you considered using softmod capabilities to only use things you legally own? You aren't required to pirate games just because it's possible.

Accountswitcher lets you flip between multiple accounts on the same memstick.
They're a bit clunky since sony made it as hard as possible to implement.

what I meant to say was "it's".

I'd translate the page and read the reviews. I'm not sure what exactly the battery looks like, but the model number seems to be correct.

Is God Wars supposed to have these long loading times?

What said. Don't waste your time scoring brownie points with Sony. They don't care. I've been through that phase…

Something I'll be looking into when I have more holiday time. Thanks.

Help me find a game, lads. I came across people talking about it a long time ago, and I'm pretty sure it was for the vita. It was supposed to be very similar to the Monster Girl Quest games, an adventure/rpg game with qt waifus that you battle for whatever reason, and if you lose you get femdom'd, but the girls were more human-like than in that game. For example, the fox girl looked almost like a qt, lazy cosplayer with fox-ears.

Moe Chronicle?

Thanks for the help, dude. It may be what I was looking for. Do you know of any other monster girl games for the vita?

The prequel card game, Monster Monpiece, and the two sequels to Moe Chronicle.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monster_Monpiece
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moero_Crystal
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Genkai_Tokki:_Seven_Pirates

As far as I'm aware only the first game got an "official" English release That you should pirate or buy a JP copy because it got cucked but Moe Chronicle and Moero Crystal got Asia English releases. The 3rd, as far as I know, isn't available in English.

They fixed the censoring with the PC/Steam release. At the cost of being able to play competitive—not that that matters, given how quickly multiplayer tends to die on niche games.

Likewise, Moe Chronicles is also on Steam, also uncensored, and I have no clue as to whether the game is still in hilarious ENGRISH or not. It SHOULD be on sale, though—IFI was doing a full week sale for Black Friday before even the Steam sale.

>At the cost of not being able to play competitive
fix'd.

we should create our own chart next thread

Not against it, if only because it'd spark some game discussion. Hadn't seen that in a while. Hell, I'd like to hear justification on the Vita Uncharted game, if any exists.

Are you that same fucking retard from the 3ds thread who insists that their chart is shit because it came from cuckchan, even though his proposed "replacement" is literally the same shit? Or are you the moron from previous threads whose idea of a great chart is nippon-only titles with massive fuckoff screenshots and zero little-to-no textual info?

Same person?

Bumping with my library that has cover art. I hate digital only because this goyim likes physical. I'm trading in Akiba's Beat and LBP. I have yet to start Mask of Deception but I hear it's good. I've got an okay Vita backlog that will last me a while. I will probably pick up a PS3 controller to replace my lost one and Tales of Hearts R.

Do me a favor and let us know how Asterisk War plays, user? I haven't heard a single thing about it and I'm curious since haremshit almost never gets localized, and AW was a kinda/sorta passable series.

It's mostly a sim with VN elements, like Trillion except worse. I never watched the anime it was based on. You either play as the show protagonist or make your own OC donut steel student. It's very repetitive and I don't recommend it. You basically play through the Phoenix Festa Arc with the waifu partner of your choice and then the game just stops. I would probably enjoy it more if I actually knew about the characters and setting. The game assumes that you're familiar with the source material.

Lad I have the archives if you want to keep going. More importantly we have cut the number of games that will be on the chart by a significant amount already. There were over 350 on the cuckchan chart.

is there at least lewd? I was hoping it was at the level of SAO games since I hear those are passable fun and juicy lewds.

Fug… we reached 300 posts after 1 month again.
New baker should make the new bread Christmas related I guess.

Is the user who wanted to play EDF still here? idk if play with him but in any case playing multiplayer was >FUN. I hope we could play more of EDF multiplayer.

A strong bluff, but I was there so I'm not falling for it.

Your edits are asinine and simplify down to >muh opinions. Your chart is redundant, and this will never ever change so long as you ripoff the format. I will remind you, yet again you illiterate retard, it's not a recommendation chart.

The cuckchan charts for most systems tend to literally just list any game a system has.

This chart would probably be better if it was limited to 10-20 games that are good examples of the vita's library plus upcoming releases. It isn't really a recommendation chart currently, just

It has mostly the same problems cuckchan charts have but is arguably better because most people do own the vita for weebshit.

If you want to create a recommended games image it should be separate from the chart that currently exists solely because it isn't a recommended games list. Good luck trying to get consensus on "recommended" games, it will be a shitshow as it was previously.

The system has been working fine for the 3DS charts thus far. Its easy to get games added to the list assuming that it isn't obviously shitty and people require reasonable justification to have it removed.
Eh, I think 10-20 games are too small an amount for a chart. That's almost "top ten list" -tier. We could get a smattering of games from each genre if we can, at least push it up to 40-50 so people know it has a reasonable library and are still attracted to the chart

TOPKEK LAD
hold on lemme put together a quick compilation of your embarrassing posts before I give you your final (you) once again.
archive.is/BTnrn

Thankfully, you've posted a small snippet of the typical response one can expect from such a retard in your very post. Old habits must die hard.

I couldn't possibly laugh harder at you. I'd almost be flattered that you'd go so far as to make an image, but that level of obsession is actually too pathetic to find truly comical.

pastebin.com/b4D8uP20

Paste updated, only the NoNpDrm section for how to use pkgi and NPS Browser. I've never used the latter so fact checking is wanted. I should also have my PSVSD soon to document that, but not before next thread.

There's a nude patch for the Vita version too if your system is hackable. Not amazing or anything but it exists. Probably similar to the PC version.

I think it's already understood that you shouldn't be playing bad translations of a game. Also the reason the last chart maker went nowhere was because of poor layout and being too stringent on game quality.

Just flag the games that are highly recommended but include the long tail of other games that people might want to play even if they're a bit crappy. A chart that short is worthless.

Flagging recommended games on the current chart would help the one that currently exists.
Lots of focus on the ten side rather than twenty when it wasn't supposed to be a hard number from the start, just a suggestion. There aren't a ton of different genres to cover on the current chart anyway, thirty or so games would be three to four for each genre barring any overly specific genre arguments plus any upcoming games. The idea of a recommendation chart is to showcase good games for the system. Can you honestly say the NISAfied version of Danganronpa is something you recommend/a good example of the decent games on the system?

The issue with the current chart is that it seems to be too scattershot. The first half seems to be a library view of the system, then halfway down it becomes a recommended games list even though the top and as somebody in this thread claims seems to not actually be. After that it becomes an upcoming releases list then becomes an import information section before going back to a release list before ending with another section that is definitely labelled "recommendations" but has even less information than the rest of the chart about why they are recommended or what genres they fall under.

So even if the current chart isn't cut down it probably should be split up and reorganized into a releases/import list and a recommendation chart.

I was starting to make a new one, taking into consideration the criticism in regard of the poor layout and visual in general. I ended up putting it on a hiatus for a while, due of my situation (and also because I simply just forgot in the end), so I apologize for the lack of response and update.

So far what I plan with the new chart is to classify games by genre (action, jrpg, rhythm, platform, visual novel, puzzle, etc), giving info on the memory space of the games & patches (based on jap versions mostly though, except for the few western games & edf2/mgs/akiba trip 2). And finally, giving just a single game picture & a small description per game.

Why not just link anons to this instead of putting in all that shit? It'd be a lot of work and it would be incredibly easy to burn out on making the chart.
archive.is/bzQAu

Should I get DT2 or Demon Gaze? DT2 apparently has more content and polished gameplay but Demon Gaze has Pinay.

DT2. Easily. Demon Gaze always goes on sale, anyway. Also

baking the new bread

Thanks, I'll be getting DT2 then.
Was going to buy Demon Gaze used. NISA wouldn't see a cent.

hey.. who made this one?

at least copy all the links from op

Someone's being a faggot I think. Make the real one and report that other faker.
