Remember that it took 600 years for capitalism to supplant feudalism, and we are only 200 years into industrial capitalism. Even if socialism is not universally implemented in our lifetimes, we are the torchbearers of it. Make your life meaningful, be that torch bearer, ensure that you leave this world is closer to socialism than when you entered it. We are in it for the long haul lads.
Easton Bell
There will be no long haul. Climate change may yet bring society to its knees before too long. If not, there's always the threat of full automation of labor to bring class conflict to a finale. The rate of profit also keeps falling and capitalism is becoming increasingly precarious and cruel. We can't be this complacent when there's multiple catastrophes awaiting us.
Zachary Ortiz
It's painful looking at Baba Vagna.
You can always just go to the ocean or space to start from scratch.
Asher Rodriguez
There was a time when the climate reduced humanity to no greater than 2,000 individuals, classifying us within the range of an endangered species, and yet we bounced back from that.
Even if its as deadly as perceived, I doubt humanity would go extinct over it. Maybe a population bottleneck will occur, but fortunately or unfortunately homo sapiens are tenacious
Ian Price
I think Climate Change could actually help to interrupt Capitalism. One of its hallmarks is extremely irregular, unexpected weather. It's already happening where I live. This whole winter we've just been getting massive snowstorms out of nowhere. The shite restaurant that I work at keeps getting understafffed, my car is the only one not fucked enough to drive in this weather. if what the scientists say is true, it'll only get more frequent and more devastating.
Thomas Turner
Where are you? I'm in the south east of the united states and winter kinda just didn't happen this year for us. It only snowed once and it was less than half an inch. Its been consistently 75 degrees Fahrenheit in January.
Robert Taylor
1100 years since Charlemagne established the feudal system until 1800 when capitalism was begging to kick off.
Capitalism will end once post-scarcity becomes viable or after a civilisation ending event which will probably lead back to slavery and feudalism
Connor Parker
We don't. It'doesn't. We're done son. Humanity had its chance in the late 1800s and early 1900s and it botched it. Just try to enjoy the end of ride as the slope gets less and less steep
Daniel Gray
History has hardly ended, and history is hardly as set in stone reactionary as you make it, perhaps European culture but you forget the cultures of the rest of the planet throughout history.
The other cultures are irrelevant because they are powerless to oppose "1st world" nations, making them able to destroy and exploit our wold and its population unimpeded. Once climate change gets really bad, the façade will drop and a fascist regime will be set so that it can keep things working for another few decades. Then, it's lights out. For everyone.
Brody Brown
What a cuck.
Noah Garcia
They aren't irrelevant because it isn't "power" that matters, it's the very fact of their own existence.
And this is also naive, because there are countless examples of other cultures thriving under conflict that they should lose under superior firepower. Colonial conflicts and Vietnam are good examples of this.
If other cultures can exist outside of what you otherwise consider, then it negates your point that history is set in stone.
Brody Watson
Powers is all that matters. If you don't have the power to enforce your vision, you're little more than a LARPe. And last I checked, former colonies are hogwash pieces of garbage that can't even get over ethical conflicts and Vietnam is barely more than a vassal sweatshop state for Japanese industries. So much for "thriving". My point is, we are fucked, communism will never happen because humanity lost its opportunity, and this is the twilight of humanity, because the "1st world" countries will keep on destroying the world into total inhabitability.
Jace Barnes
You aren't getting my point. Your point was that we had one chance of collectivism and botched it.
Actual history has shown that it is not nearly as clear.
You can't argue that point because it's simply not true, which is what I'm telling you.
Justin Howard
pick one.
Caleb Gonzalez
How about both?
John Johnson
What other chances had we had to actually implement collectivism in the developed nations? Because doing so in the 3rd world is useless, since the prior can just bomb you into submission
Dylan Hill
This shows a common, but incorrect, view of dismay. Marx was talking about the far-off future when he wrote. People inspired by his vision tried to make it happen without the material conditions he described. It was doomed from the start.
Brayden Lee
tbf even Marx couldn't predict technological singularity and possibility of full automation so I'm not even sure what to do we communism anymore.
Maybe Bookchin wrote something about this but it's not like I mind losing at this stage of history.
Ryan Sullivan
Diamat, not dismay

Yet they make up a tiny fraction of the population.
They cannot survive without us. They do not grow their own food. They cannot maintain their estates without us. They protect themselves with militaries made up of us.
Our job is to make as many proles aware of the coming shit storm as quickly as possible. Pull the rug out from underneath the bourgeois's asses.
Think about your kids. A lot of us would die in a revolution. But at the same time do you really want your kids growing up in a post-capitalist nightmare? Living in ultra-poverty, practical slavery in the United Corporations of Walmart?
It's scary but those drones are controlled by proles. Yes the military would need to rebel but I think if shit hit the fan, people are dying left and right from starvation and rebellion occurred, I think you'd see a lot of military people refuse to bomb their own people. Porky can't fly drones himself.

horseshit. Sweden, Norway and Finland are all completely passive toward Capital because the big loving government keeps their needs sated. Meanwhile countries in Latin America and Asia which had their population ravaged by foreign enterprises are where the biggest communist movements reside. Fascism is not acceleration, Fascism is pulling down the brakes.
