Divinity: Original Sin 2 General

GET THESE DYKES OUT OF MY FANTASY RPG EDITION

Made it through to Arx, but goddamn is this chapter is a shitshow with buggy quests and sudden SJW shit.

Anyone completed Doctor's Orders yet?
I killed him but couldn't find Malady or Jahan in the basement, do I just need to take his deal and move forward with the story quests?

Hey, I just got to Arx, myself.
I think I fucked up, the game says I failed to master my Source powers, but I have 3 SP, so what the hell?

Never seen that before, did you take the Meistr's drugs a 2nd time before you went to the nameless isle?

Fucking Holla Forums and their political goggles. Everything is a slight against Holla Forumss fragile sensibilities. Just gas the faggots, kike.

Fuck off nigger, I don't care if cunts want to pump their progressive bullshit into some sci-fi socialist fantasy, but that shit has no place in a medieval setting, its fucking jarring.

Pretty much almost all devs these days are political ideologues. I'd love to not have to worry about this stuff, but when you get shit like E3 showcasing nothing but different flavors of bixnood and devs actively telling you outright they hate gameplay then I am fully justified in being a watch dog.

Yeah, I fought the voidwoken in my soul and all that.

I don't want to go to Arx, I want to go back to Fort Joy and save everyone.

=DESPITE LUSTY ARGONIAN MAID EXISTING BETHESDA FAGS WILL WON'T ADMIT LIZARDS ARE THOUSANDS OF TIMES SEXIER THAN ARGONIANS==
WHY ARE BESHEDA DRONES SO FUCKING STUPID

apparently I am stupid as well
forgot the =

Tell me a game where SJW shit was inserted into a game and didn't fuck the game up beyond repair
Go ahead, I dare you to find me one example

...

Can you explain?
There was a fag couple in the last game. I didn't really care.

anyone playing on pirated version?

Tell me how the faggots in the last chapter of DOS2 fucks up the entire game beyond repair, and maybe I'll listen

No normal person does. Just Holla Forumss hyper-autists and Holla Forums

Damn, now i need to try edgy playthrough.

It's not that there are gay couples, gay people exist so I have no problem with them existing in a game, its that there are 2 lesbian marriages that are shoved in your face in dialogue with important NPCs
I just personally get agitated when there is gay marriage (and to a lesser extent acceptance though I can stomach that) in a medieval setting.
Marriage exists in all successful human societies because when a man and a woman have sex that will result in a pregnancy, so there needs to be a societal force to keep the man from following his instinct to pump and dump the bitch, to instead stay with the woman/women and provide for his children.

While some historical cultures have accepted homosexuality to greater degrees, none have instituted gay marriage because it doesn't make sense.

It's not a medieval setting. And tell me more, give me word for word these forced dialogues, and your possible responses.

Theres 2 Lesbian couples.
I Turned one straight and got the other executed for treason.

OH FUCKING WOW HOW HORRENDOUSLY PROGRESSIVE AND SJW! MY SKIN IS MELTING OFF MY BONES JUST FROM READING THIS!

Colloquially, Bows and Swords = medieval

1. a woman asks you to save her WIFE, a paladin who is being executed for treason (this dialogue is unavoidable and near the entrance to the city)
2. an important weapons trader also near the entrance who makes it very clear that her WIFE makes all the weapons.

Again, not anal (heh) about gays or gay marriage in principle, mostly in the setting + how it was shoved in my face had me rustled.

I'm pretty sure gay shit has existed since the very first game back in '04.

I can't believe you're equivicating this banal fucking shit with stuff like the tranny merchant in Siege of Dragonspear or the tranny in Andromeda who gives you their life story without being prompted. If this is bothering you, you are being extremely anal.

Come on, man, you can be a bisexual undead lizard, just beat your meat.

...

So I take it that you're new to the series? The first game had a fucking underground city and a fleshed out sewer system, it's not exactly medieval.

I haven't slept and I'm just so fucking sick of these Holla Forums-tier retards derailing these threads. They're a bunch of whiny, cancerous little shits and I wish they'd stay on their containment board.

Not completely new, I played a little bit of Dragon commander so I was familiar with the races and knew that the tech was advanced and the politics was more modern that a medieval society.
I was just kinda shocked that there was no hint of that stuff before hand then at the end of the game they crammed a bunch in.
I wish I handn't fucking mentioned SJW in the OP, I just wanted to talk about the game tbh

Also fuck you nigger, the only person who derailed this thread is you.

Go to sleep and never wake up, faggot.

haven't been off of the first isle, but what's stopping you from pickpocketing everything good off of them and then killing them OP?

nothing

This thread, yeah. And it deserved to be you fucking cockmunching mong, I'm so sick of this fucking shit, I just wanna talk about vidya without it being fucking sidelined by dumb-ass americlap politics.

fuck off swedecuck

Yes, that is exactly what I am. A fucking swede cuck. I'm fucking exasperated by how retarded you americans are, just like the rest of Europe. Just sink in the ocean, please. We'll take our chances without you. If I wanted to rage about alt-left crap, I'd fucking go to the gamergate thread.

...

Congrats bro, you shat up a thread with politics in the name of not shitting up threads with politics. It's a thread about a good game too

Go flirt with a muslim.

Clearly you haven't been to the other two threads, or this entire board for that matter. But fine, if you want lockpicks, carry around a hammer and combine it with every nail you can find.

Is there any point to having skill in theivery? You can teleport through most doors, or just blow them up instead. Do chests have less loot if you crack them open with force? The only difference I can think of is not having a guy with Lucky Charm opening it.

Virtual signaling is not about actually doing what you claim to stand for, but feeling smug about your perceived moral high ground instead after all.
So chances are he feels pretty pleased with himself for showing those evil anons how to pozz up the world.

Can someone please explain to me how edgy can you be in this game? I already gathered that you can kill pretty much everyone you want including sodomites, deus vult but what's this soul stealing mechanic I've seen anons mention?

No. I'm just tired. I'm sick of all the fucking politics. I don't like getting gender politics shoved down my throat either, but come on, this is getting fucking retarded.

There are a lot of doors that can't be destroyed or teleported past in my experience.
I really like theivery in this game because unlike a lot of RPGs there are hardly any locks which NEED a certain key, even story related ones, so it makes exploration a lot smoother.

Also you can pick locks while sneaking, while teleporting/attacking the door while alert everyone

It's a core mechanic. Your god teaches you to eat other peoples soul for source points to use in battles. You can also play an elf who carves names on her arm and is more or less a full-on coldsteel.

Pick Sebille for 1000% Edgy.
You can solve every problem with senseless violence however it may not be easy.

Sounds good to me, I'm around about level 7 on OS1 and I know that the story is completely self contained but should I keep going to get some easter eggs and references? From what I've been hearing OS2 is a step up in just about every way.

not worth your time, DOS2 is an infinitely superior game in every way.

Look, I get it, just stop talking about it so we can get the thread back on the rails (and try not to lose your shit over Holla Forums memes)

Soul stealing is really fun and cool, its basically destroying a persons soul to consume their energy.
It's amazing because the main antagonizts have sworn their souls the the BBEG so they can be reborn over and over.
Watching their smug faces go to dread as they realize that you are actually killing them forever is really satisfying.

The whole stealing souls thing is portrayed as really dark, and it is, but as long as you don't use it on innocent souls moralfags like me can make frequent use of it too.

I'm honestly not sure what ties there are to OS1, as I never actually finished it. I know there are some, for sure, but I have no idea how much impact it has on the actual story. DOS2 is certainly way better, though

Nope you are impure. You cannot get the special blessing from the path of blood.

I've had to murder dozens of innocents because of that thieving asshole

He also took glass cannon and gets CC'd to death in every fight

Yeah sounds like very few people actually finished OS1, what really put me off for a while before I found maps of mob levels online was the silly searching for appropriately leveled enemies to kill. Is OS2 like that as well where it's an "open world" except you really can only progress in a certain linear path if you don't want to get demolished by creeps a few levels higher than yours?

This game is full of ruses and twists, I don't think you know who the BBEG REALLY is yet.

The 7 Gods are actually the bad guys and the void king is the good guy in the end.

From an RP perspective I mean, though I am intrigued by the Path of Blood.

What are the requirements and how good is the reward?

More or less. One level makes a huge difference, so watch the monster levels carefully, go explore and talk to people first and just keep your eyes oppen and you'll be fine.

The game is really easy if you think hard about the game mechanics and maybe watch a nerd commando vid on the game if you can't figure for yourself.

This is my party I beat the game with doing all the fights I could and the optional hard fights and killing extra things before I change acts (important for XP). This was on normal difficulty.

If anyone is struggling with the game or wants to know something about it just ask.

The sex scene with Sebille was pretty hot actually and you sorta purify her into being not an edgy retard bitch with the power of dick, her character deserved a better writer, but she does have development from being gutter trash assassin into being a little sweetie housewife. I gave her a more sexy hairstyle and some of the elf clothes look like fantasy warhammer with big helmet plumes very nice.

Permanent flight and maybe permanent blessed status?

Wait what? You can get permanent blessed and flight by not consuming souls?

It is a hidden bonus for people who are actual moral fag. Read at your peril.

No stealing, no killing outside of self defense, no making pacts with demons, no consuming souls.

He knows if you are lying too.

That's pretty cool

does the scroll of atonement route not grant the same blessing? I just cheesed it by hiring a merc

I dunno I used the secret way in using the ammy.

Also that character I posted won the final battle in a single turn.

The scroll is part of the amulet thing, you need both. Did it grant the wings or not?

Okay, that crosses the line, in every rpg i must loot houses.

What class is most op?

That's hardcore, who actually figured that out?

It's not something to "figure out", the statue asks 4 questions, starting with "dost thou steal". It counts on a per-character basis and you can just hire a merc you've never used before to get past it. The hard part is getting it on a useful character, and the Murder part likely counts everyone involved in combat.

Any class is good you just focus on 1 damage stat then go into wits after it is maxed.

Elven ranger is super good look at that picture 100% crit chance. Both of those characters I posted can kill the end boss in 1 limit break move.

Classes are just starting packages, theres no strict classes in the game.

However due to the armor/magic resist system you may want to have a party consisting of mainly 1 damage type.

With a mixed party I've noticed if you have bad gear Magic does well, however as soon as ANY of your physical characters say for example an archer gets are good weapon you're just 1 shotting monsters for 2AP a pop with no risk of friendly fire.

Try this combo in the final area:
Green Tea, Blood Sacrifice, Elemental Arrows (blood), Adrenaline, Arrow Spray (point blank range), Tactical retreat (to high ground), Arrow Storm, Skin Graft, Adrenaline, Blood Sacrifice, Arrow storm, Barrage, Balistic Shot, Tactical Retreat (to melee), Arrow Spray.

Yes, you can pull all of that off in a single turn without glass cannon/lone wolf.

With lone wolf I did Tea -2ap, phoenix dive, grow wings, fly, Omnislash and dropped the end boss in 1 hit, well he gets hit 5 times but you understand what I mean..

With the ranger I didn't even need consumables I just did Tactical retreat, to get into range then did blood sacrifice and arrow storm directly on you know who.

2h vs dual vs 1h+shield vs spear

Is that a question?

2h>all, especially once you get going with high crit chance.

Dual Wield isn't too bad, but it's weaker than 2h with no crit damage bonus. The offhand takes a 50% penalty and dodge just isn't very good unless you stack it like crazy. It also has shorter range.

Spear is just two hand with longer range at the cost of lower damage. There aren't really any Finesse based skills (most are weapon-stat based) worth using, so you don't really gain anything from switching to finesse, plus weapon damage runes only carry strength frames.

Shield is alright. Obviously you trade a lot of damage, but bouncing shield can actually do more damage than 2hand attacks (on a 2 turn cooldown) and Reactive Armor was great pre-nerf. Deflecting barrier could be useful in certain situations too. Overall I still say 2 hand is better, but there's some situations you might prefer a shield build. Also, Mages do great with shields since you don't generally expect them to attack things with their weapons ("staff warriors" are a thing though).

Also, you forgot an option: Single handed (no shield). By keeping your offhand empty you can take the Ambidextrous perk and throw Grenades for 1 AP instead of 2. Generally this would be much more useful early game, and only then if you have a good number of grenades to throw. Grenade damage doesn't scale very well late game, but they could still be useful for AoE CC effects, especially at 1AP.

Really nigger?

Pleb tier tbh

You sound anal about user not wanting faggot shit throw in his face.

I did stop though. Should I start up again? Read the thread, m8.

I considered that, but I didn't think I'd have enough grenades without making them myself, so I got morning person instead.

Go back leftypol you kike

Check your own fucking country you faggot. In 2030 Sweden is to be a third world country, let that sink in.

Just like Sweden

You didn't stop you faggot.

I'm not even swedish, you trash necromancer.

I highly doubt that.

Do barrels have limited goop, or can I have Fane chugging this barrel of ooze until the end of the game?

Don't fucking poke him he just stopped sperging

Ha det som du vil, kompis. Er ikke første gangen Holla Forumsbavianer har kalt meg svensk.

Unlimited, but does it actually heal worth a damn or just set poisoning?

Of course you need to craft some, and you'll only be able to get so many anyway. Most of the better grenades use Essences as their main ingredient

The poison bottle heals as well, and can be combined like health potions

I know you can heal off any kind of poison item, but is it worth it? When you have 3000 hp and they heal for 30 there's not really any point in spending the AP.

Kek. At least deep down you know your pathetic ideology is nothing but a tumor infesting society.

I make the poison bottles out of combat. Saves me the trouble of looking for fly agaric shrooms. Combine the bottles together, and you make a stronger one, just like with potions.

And what ideology is that? I'm very curious about what you've managed to glean from my mind.

You are forgetting something. The true power of weapons are their sockets, 2 hand is good because you only need one two handed weapon and you're good. BUT, 3 sockets is less than 6 so if you were a smart Godwoken you would have 6 giant framed physical runes and your damage would be higher than one two hander (the game does not give you good 1 handed unique 3 socket weapons compared to the 2 hander though).

The that loses too much to be a viable choice.

I am glad that you will not reproduce a creature like you to be a father would be a stain upon humanity. I spit on you and your whore family name your line ends with you.

If you say so, boss. Go back to Holla Forums and jerk off to Hitler you faggot.

Should poke him more. He's a faggot who's complaining about anons not liking faggots on the site when he can go to dozens of other vidya forums or sites or fucking cuckchan to talk about the game without complaint for this issue. But you see, Holla Forums has to change to fit his sensibilities, because it's not enough that there's dozens of possible options out there already, this place needs to change just for him as well. Faggot deserves to be poked.

That you're a raging faggot that doesn't belong here. Reddit is more your kinda place. Go back there

+9 strength isn't ever going to beat +50% crit damage

Can you tell me the origin of this website and why it came to be? Who is it made for? Who needs to go back?

Yeah I just booted up and took a look. The most powerful weapon in the game is actually character level and buying a new item every level. My "end game" uniques were just outclassed by going from lvl 20-21 even with 3 perfect framed physical runes.

I was pretty content until that retard running Holla Forums invited idiots from reddit, and the cancer started to spread. I whined with everyone else ablut all the kangz in BF1, but this? This is just Holla Forumsfaggotry, and I'm sick of it.

If it was Japanese and yuri nobody would give a shit tbh.

That is a sad side effect of having one of our guys as a mod on T_D it is worth it for waking up normalfags and most of them get gorespammed and leave. It is discouraged to tell ledditors to come here.

Meanwhile on leftypol they are shitting up all the commie leddit boards and trying to recruit as many leddit rapefugees to come here as they can since their hugbox is welcoming they don't leave. Which is worse?

Anathema is the exception to the rule. It has more than 50% damage over a level 21 Divine 2 hander BEFORE sockets. The catch of course is that if you ever use it for a non-skill attack it breaks (and can't be repaired), that includes attacks of opportunity.

Either way, strength is additive with itself but multiplicative with crit damage. By the time you have 50 strength adding another 10 would only increase your damage by about 12.5%. Meanwhile, if you have at 50% crit chance 50% crit damage (as from 10 ranks in 2hand skill) would increase your damage by 16.6%. The higher your strength the lower that strength bonus is, but the higher your crit chance the higher that crit damage bonus becomes. Since you probably have something over 70% crit chance and probably AT LEAST 60 strength, the numbers swing much more in favor of the 2hander. And that's just the +damage numbers, the base damage on 2hand is much higher to begin with.

Pretty equal. They can both go to hell with their retarded gender politics.

I want to try this game out. Which class and preset should i choose if i want to start purging degenerates and elves? Inquisitor is alright?

Here's a solution to that problem. nexusmods.com/divinityoriginalsin2/mods/58

So, this hydro magic is a healing magic tree, right? Do custom classes work out right in this game's balance?

For damage output two-handed weapons are the best, but if I'd need to make character to last as long as possible, I'd go for 1h+shield.

Fuck classes. Do what you want, break the game, it's how you're supposed to play

Good. I love to hear that.

Classes don't really matter - you'll figure out your playstyle as you go. Inquisitor is literally Warfare+Necromancy, though you might want to put 5 points into Summoning as well, it synergizes with lone wolf.

You can respec freely after the first area and the starting build isn't actually that big of a deal for your progression, so don't worry about it too much.

Though, making your main character into something that can deal with starting a fight close to enemies will make it easier to just barge into everywhere.

You're expected to customize your shit. The presets are mostly trash and really only govern a single chest within the first five minutes of the game. Maybe. Hydro has healing and some other support/utility spells, yes, but it also has plenty of offensive ice spells as well.

Far as I can tell that chest is random.

What are you doing with that poo poo axe? Go use the unique lizard sword.

Also did you romance Prince with your lizard waifu character? You weirdo lol.

I havent finished the game but I have a few questions.

If you have what seems to be archer+"barbarian", who buffs/debuffs? Who heals? Or you dont really need them thanks to scrolls/potions?

Is constitution really that bad to not put points into it? I have been putting points there to survive and it has been so far a good investment, I only died against Hannag's instakill.

Why Finesse armor sucks dick so much? Does Sebille has 22 int due to gear or because you put points into it?

Why so little memory? Do you only left click or what? What skills do you have with each character and why? Why you don't use A B C skills from whatever skilltree/school you have? Which skill school (combat skills) do you have on each character?

Pic unrelated, a bug or exploit that I found. Ryker's weaver that is on the second floor appeared on Siva's cellar with her full dialogue when I never went to Ryker's house at all wtih this party. Feel free to ask how I reproduced this bug, although I don't think it'll be that easy to do.

how do you get that much strength? all from items?

Don't take advice from that guy, He is what you call an "Autist" someone who minmaxs so hard that the game presents no challenge because he has chosen only the most broken and thoughtless way to play. If you are getting through the game, you are playing it correctly.

Losing is !!!FUN!!! Seriously though, I'm doing just fine without minmaxing, just be a super cheap dick in battles, and carry a lot of res scrolls.

Nigger what are you doing?

Jesus fucking christ. Is the rest of that sword in act 2?

Both parts are in act 2, but he doesn't actually put it together until you are able to blackmail him in Arx

Fuck. I never found the other half and went on to nameless isle.

Are there any good daggers a rogue character should look out for?

Remember you do NOT need int to be a caster as only some spells scale with INT others just scale with char level. I personally like to use speedhacks to play the game at 150% speed to save time it does not mess up the sound or talking just speed up animations.

Main char is
Stats - All points Str then wits maybe 2 each in memory and con going first in combat is VERY important
Skills - 5 summoning 1 necromancy 2 poly morph (wings) 10 warfare 10 2-handed and some other stuff for utility magic earth magic is good
Civic - 5 Diplomacy 5 Barter

Sebille is
Stats - Max finesse then wits maybe 2 each in memory and con
Skills - 10 warfare 10 ranged 10 scoundrel? rest in some magic
Civic - 5 lockpick 5 luckycharm

There are some boosts that take away other stats. Also I am a BEAST I did my playthrough 100% blind.

Don't you have a reddit to post on? Webm is directed at you.

Muh auto-attacks is how the non-anathema user replies when confronted with a superior weapon.

It breaks after 1 hit but if you use skills only it won't break.

The second half is on bloodmoon island. If you told the hilt the words the spirit said, and then told tarquin the words the sword said in response, he marks the exact location of the buried hatch on your map (marked as "Archives"). In either case you need very high wits to actually find it.

FYI the "Brittle", "Unrepariable", "Durability 1/1" means that the sword will break and be rendered useless the first time you attack with it directly (including attacks of opportunity). Using skills however does not break the sword, so basically you want to use every warfare skill that does damage.

I never used this trait any good?

It gives you a free auto-attack on anyone trying to move away from you

I've missed a lot of things actually, including this sword. Though on Classic difficulty that axe was just enough to smack Dallis hard enough she didn't even turn into a dragon and then obliterate Braccus Rex.
I've pretended to be a bodyguard rather than love interest. To be honest I was surprised at "let's go fug" after escaping from Arena of the One as then I've just came to him to join party so I can barter loot in his inventory for better items

Or walk past you. The AI isn't smart enough to avoid it and there are ways to manipulate the enemy into moving around regardless (like Chicken Claw). Overall it's free damage that can really make a lot of difference in the long run.

Worth noting Incarnates get that talent automatically. Since the enemy never really wants to attack a summon if they can help it, it triggers all the fucking time for them and they may as well have 6 AP per turn with how reliably they can do those extra attacks.

I replaced them with the bone spider much more powerful.

I had my hopes too high about this.

No user. There is a story reason for it. There is a reason you didn't die on the ship either.

Okay, then i hope when i kill him again he won't get up.

Rock yourself, my dude

Come on goy the game isn't that bad.

Damn you are right. I wrote that thing off as a waste of time like all the other summons compared to the Incarnate Champion.

There are some pros and cons to each though.
Using my level 21 character with 19 summoning these are the comparisons
3 AP cost
5 Turn duration
5586 Physical armor
0 Magic armor
39806 Vitality
2453-2709 Damage
20% all resist
Undead trait
Opportunist
Burrow: 2AP cost movement ability
Devour Corpse: 2AP cost self heal and buff (30% damage for 3 turns).

2 AP cost + 2AP buffs
10 Turn duration
8379 Physical armor
8660 Magic armor
8019 Vitality
1769-1952 damage
0% resist
Taunt
Battering Ram
Whirlwind
Ranged attack: 2AP 2034-2234 damage, gains elevation bonus

Incarnate has a significantly higher hit chance than the Bone Widow (20-30%). It's hard to know the exact hit rate based on the character sheet, as it varies per-target.

Overall the Widow is much tougher, but easier to CC. Hits a bit harder, but misses more often. Cheaper, but doesn't have as long a duration, and it completely lacks any CC or AOE skills, relying purely on auto attacks. The self buff for eating a corpse takes a while to pay for itself and is unlikely to see much use. The incarnate also has the option of doing elemental based damage and gaining a spell, as well as a complete immunity to a single element.

Incarnate has opportunist as well, I forgot to list that.

I want Holla Forums to leave forever.

Note that Summoning skill benefits both equally. A bone widow with no summoning skill will have roughly 1/3rd of the stats (it's a +190% increase at 19). Incarnate champion requires a minimum of Summoning 10 to be viable. If you don't actually want to invest in summoning at all the Widow is far better as it only requires necro 2 to be useful, but it will be much less powerful than had you invested.

Did you do it with your dick user?

I don't have the memory slots for all the boosts for incarnate, also it is annoying to cast them. Basically I cast boner into a pack of retards as long as they use skills on him and not me or waifu then that is game winning material.

Boner gets the mobility skill and dmg boost for free! that is why he's good.

Ha ha ha ha ha you poor fool a prince cannot be so easily denied! You better get outta here before someone tells you all the good mindfuck parts of the story. These niggers have more lives than SJWs have genders.

You should be able to guess what will keep the origin characters coming back. Think the reason you didn't die on the ship.

Also when you learn about Red you'll feel really sad about letting him die and the consequences of it. Even as a lone wolf I had me and Edgy elf waifu and you can choose another 2 guys to come with you at a certain point in the game where it is very clear that they are gonna get fucked up if you don't have them come with you for this one fight. If anything I was torn between choosing between the characters I wanted to let live Why don't you like Red anyway?.

You can purify the edgy elf into a qt house wife
This is my fetish…

I don't give a fuck. I'm free to follow his advice or not, I will keep playing the game however the fuck I want nigger. I ask questions because I want knowledge to adapt it to how I want to play.

is this game related to the first one at all? should i play them in order or only play the 1st or 2nd?

Gameplay should always come before some faggy story.

Fuck right off.

Only in gameplay style and setting but they're many years apart in terms of continuity. I'm probably going to abandon my OS1 playthrough since there's no reason for me to go on.

Also she's a virgin as her life had a purpose before it was re-purposed to be EDGE DARK THE EDGE MASTER.

Yes but it is thousands of years in the future from DoS 1. It is also related to Divinity 1 - Divine Divinity. I have played neither of these games but I understand the lore. Did beat Divinity 2 though.

Maybe Daddy gave him another chance.

Dw that fight is only act 1 end boss. But most of my pals on steam were thinking Alex is end boss.

cool ty

Gary Gygax and David Arneson were liberal faggots.

My dad could beat the shit out of your mom.

We don't need another fucking general

Do something about it.

Protip: Once you have Source Vampirism, you can easily sneak up on shriekers to kill them without needing a wand. Even if you have 0 points in sneaking, they won't detect you if you stay out of their main vision cone.

Also, who the fuck thought making sneaking and thievery two separate skills that you can't level in concert was a good idea?

Sneaking's useless; If you want to pickpocket, engage the mark in conversation, then rob them blind. If you want to sneak, Cloak and Dagger is best. But anyway, only useful civil skills are Loremaster, Thievery and Lucky Charm.

Sneaking's been shit since DOS 1 EE

I assume Persuasion at least does something, right? I seem to fail every persuasion test even when I use my most pumped stat, so I'm thinking it must be because I never had any points in persuasion.

Tier 1 importance must have civil skill. Max on your main character.

I'm seeing some conflicting messages about what civil skills I need maxed.

In the beta you could bruteforce your way through most checks by simply having a point in persuasion and having way more of a certain stat than the person you were talking to. In the full game, they changed the formula so it's important you max it along with one of the three skills I mentioned. You can power through Joy with 1 in Loremaster though (Sebille comes with that).

>Also she's a virgin as her life had a purpose before it was re-purposed to be EDGE DARK THE EDGE MASTER.
Even better tbh lad.

You don't need loremaster in the field at all, when you have enough identified crap just go back to your ship and respect into loremaster to id your crap then respec back.

Thievery lets you steal from vendors, which gives HUGE amounts of money and free useful shit. Higher skill levels increase the amount you can steal exponentially

Bartering saves you as much as 50% off buy prices and probably doubles sale prices as well, which is pretty huge when vendors have most of the best gear

Lucky Charm causes high end gear to spawn frequently in trash chests, almost as good as Theivery maxed out

Persuasion is sometimes the only way to solve a quest, meaning extra exp rewards as well as bypassing difficult encounters, plus flavor.

It's pretty useful for sussing out what my opponent's weak to tbh.

To getting their physical armor stripped and dying.

This is a single player game people are currently playing at the moment. Just like the ME:A threads and that other game we all played after that but I can't seem to remember it?

Anyway we'll play it and talk about it then in a few months it's gone.

Wow I never stole anything the whole game and I had it maxed. That skill sounds useful.

On the other hand if you do take loremaster you can savescum the loot. The item type is generated in advance but stats are generated when you open the chest.

I was rolling around with a shitload of different kinds of elemental damage, so I found it helpful in my first run.

Or you can just pickpocket them off vendors. Extremely useful with the Driftwood arena dude, who stocks every type of divine quality stuff that are always ranked up to your level.

Note that if you plan to buy or sell at a particular vendor often, it helps to give away some gold first to boost your reputation with them, which adds to your discount/sell value. Something like 4k gold to max out rep in Arx will pay for itself when you spend 10 or 20k. Just make sure your barterer is the one who does the talking because that's the one who gets the rep bonus.

And Lucky Charm was so broken they had to "fix" it.

Of course you pickpocket the vendors until you can't pickpocket them anymore, but it's not usually enough. It might take two or three restocks across all of driftwood to gear out your whole party for one level, and Nameless Isle/Arx is MUCH worse about that. That's assuming you savescum the vendors to find items actually worth equipping.

Actually, if I've had as much strength as you do, my damage would be very close to yours.

They haven't done it yet AFAIK, but I wouldn't install their patches anyway because they always nerf anything fun

Persuasion is great, gives you possibilities otherwise unavailable, shortcuts or outright resolution without moving an inch.

Thievery is much like Persuasion, shortcuts, new paths, completely bypassing the need to find the ACTUAL key. For stealing stuff off NPCs you can only do it once per NPC so its not THAT useful in that regard.

For gearing, Lucky Charm and Bartering are needed. Lucky Charm at level 10 gives you a 1/15 chance to randomly generate an item from random pointless boxes and barrels. Bartering is a simple overcharge/discount mechanic, be sure to make the NPC like you first by giving em items or gold, though you might not make a profit then and there, in the long run hocking off all your items to that NPC will pay off.

Telekinesis is pointless.
Sneaking mechanic is useful, but levelling it up only makes it easier, doesn't really enable anything new. Leveling sneak just makes their sight range on you smaller, considering theres a teleport skill that doesn't reveal stealth and invisibility , makes leveling this skill even less attractive.
Loremaster is almost pointless. ID items without going to NPCS, see monster stats more accurately.

That they do. Vanilla DOS 1 is still the best when it comes to doing and trying crazy and cool shit.

You can hire new companions specced into thievery to do infinite pickpocketing, but yeah, Arx is a bitch for that sort of stuff. Only reason I wasn't hurting for gear was that I had lucky charm maxed out on the Red Prince, and I only went up 2 levels (19-21) after finishing most every quest in the entire area.

nigga this game is EZ, i just played with whatever and finished the game on Tactical difficulty. Had a bow guy, stabby guy and 2 magic fuckers.

The hardest is Act1, after that you can reset freely and start acquiring good gear. I finish every encounter from mid Act 2 onwards in like 2 turns.

Sounds like you're bad at video games.

I bet you he's this faggot who thinks using a choke point is "cheese" and "exploiting" holy fuck that thread is retarded.

What's this pic fom?

Common consensus seems to be that they nerfed the % chance increase from levels 6-10 rather than being a flat +5% bump at level 6; you still need 7-8 to start picking up Divines and Legionaries in my experience.

They really should have followed Epic Encounters' example: Metamind, Tools of the Trade, and Bard were all great overhauls of otherwise dubious skill investments. I guess they kind of did this by combining Lockpicking and Stealth, but fuck thieves anyways because muh double investment.

I just want them to fucking fix or let us fix initiative, it's the only thing keeping me from breaking out into spergdom and modding the shit out of this game myself.

Larian's official forums. Theres a thread called "Devs plz don't listen to exploiters". Complaining that the hardest difficulty is too hard.

I think theres enough people in the thread shitting on him anyways.

Jesus christ.

But letting the void come back basically means you're exchanging one master of humanity for another. Overall a shit deal. Despite Lucian being a flaming faggot, he had the right idea on the geopolitics of eternals

Which ending did you choose? Source for everyone, become the divine, or seal the void? I'm not entirely sure the source for everyone option is available unless you have Ifan

I reloaded and did a bunch of endings.
The one I liked the most was:
Lohse sharing Divinity with her Demon to create an unstopabble mortal/demon alliance to defeat the void . After a short peaceful period it all falls apart and a war between mortals and demons begins.

Didn't realize they had endings for that. There's probably an ending choice for every character then.

Source for Everyone was available for my Lohse and Fane endings. So I think it's a generic ending choice.

Fuck you user and your bait. I think this game just now replaced skyrim for me.

Donut steel OC endings, I tried the divinity end and the void end. It was both shitty with the divinity end being a consolation prize tier ending, also I was a mass murderer who killed nearly everything in the reaper's coast, so in my ending card driftwood was said to be completely destroyed by voidwoken overnight

My favorite was Seal the void and letting The Divine fix most things then you are truly free to sail wherever you want on your living ship and adventure as you please with your waifu. It is the best ending.

I don't think there was an ending that even acknowledged if the player character was the lobster ligger.

You know that the game is good when thread is full of spoilers.

It's a trophy, nothing more.

Did you read the part where it won't break when you use skills only?

>things happens
gg

The funny thing though is in spite of all that weapon damage my archer still did way more with an outdated crossbow

I just used arrow rain, instant kills any and all bosses in the game. infinite source is a wonderful thing at that stage of the game

Yeah the uphill bonus + always critting and not having to walk to places. If there was a kill counter (should be in the game) I'd say the ranger gets the most kills in a playthrough or the rogue.

What did Larian mean by this Holla Forums?

Archers seem even more ridiculous in this one than the first DOS. I'm glad I didn't take any in my party. But when they fix the game and add the content clearly missing from the last chapter I'll make a lone world archer summmoner.

Don't launch from the icon, directly open EOCApp.exe.

Yeah I just arrow down the whole encounter in 1 skill and kill left overs with basic attack. Archery makes this whole game too easy, even on Tactical difficulty.

But won't that make it so that I can't access multiplayer or something?

WHERE'S THE TORRENT YOU SHILL ?

...

fuck off already

The game is on GoG for fucks sake do you think they give a FUCK if you buy it or not? GoG has no DRM.

can i play online with pirated version

Buy the game:
gog.com/game/divinity_original_sin_2

Its just 44.99 Euro
Enthaltene Extras: Handbuch+ Editor

Der sehnsüchtig erwartete Nachfolger zum preisgekrönten RPG. Versammle deine Gruppe. Meistere die taktisch komplexen Kämpfe. Spiele mit bis zu 3 weiteren Spielern zusammen – doch nur einer von euch wird zum Gott werden.

Alright you convinced me

it's too late anyways, I bought three copies because you read right into my plan

Yeah I think so.

I got it on steam… so all my friends can see what a loser I am playing this game for marathon lengths of time. It was WAYY overpriced and the last two acts are very weak but by then you've already played the first 2 good acts and cannot get a refund.

I don't condone buying games for that much money but I was having an issue with my copy that was patched so I had to buy a legit copy to get the patch.

But i cant

I dunno then? It is quite a funny feature anyway you can just "drop in" on newbies games and fuck their shit up.

Also the online PvP is lame because all the characters are preset and not custom.

Have fun.
V4E16-VYLZP-L0LR4

0 may be O, I'm typing this on phone so can't copy paste. Oh and the 1 could be an I, my screen has shit resolution. But my friends aren't interested so I'm hoping someone will enjoy this extra code.

Fortunately the first 2 acts are fucking massive, too.

Anyway to forego the Tumblr characters and create my own party? Also, how is crossbow + necromancy?

Wait why is the date format on my post month/day/year? When did this happen?

Is anyone else getting this glitch?

D-Do you have any more code? That one is taken

kek some shit took it already gimme more

By Act 2. You can create your own party from ground up.

XBow + Necromancy do not synergise in my opinion. With XBow, you have the range which you can fire from the relative safety of the vantage point and do fuckton of damage with it. Necromancy lends to self sustain and debuff, but to do that, you have to be in the murder range of your enemies. Unless you are looking for a dual-role character, I would say no.

when you finish the first area and enter a ship, you will come across an NPC that will sell you a random generated NPC with a class of your choice

There is also a mirror near that NPC merchant that can be used to respec and change you or any party members look. Which is handy for online co-op with friends at any time you want.

Nope, sorry.
Rude.

Fuck… Also try to turn the code into a puzzle because i swear there are some nigger bots or something.

Thanks, user

IIRC there was an user in previous threads who did it by making a server, connecting to himself with multiple instances of the game started on the same PC, saving and then loading that save in single player. Or alternatively you can hire mercs in Act 2 and further.

What like post a code and say the last digit is wrong?
Using bots is scummy, but atleast it's not wasted, although I would rather whoever got it was someone who would actually enjoy the game and play it.

Marksman doesn't really synergize with much of anything except maybe Polymorphing for Apotheosis and Skin Graft in order to spam multiple Arrow Storms and sprays.

Generally an archer build is just going to maximize damage from skills, which means investing heavily in warfare and scoundrel for the passive boosts.

Do they stop playing afterwards? If so you need to buy better friends.

No problem, I hope you enjoy it.

Who /shit pc/ here?

Also why is Dallis' hammer so trash?

Thanks guys, I'll try the MP thing or simply wait for Act 2. I might restart the game, I got stuck with the Pajeet and Lohse and didn't understand the game mechanics well enough to make good character building choices. I killed Kadhaka the Witch by cheesing/telporting her but I am struggling in the labyrinth and under.

Yep. That was DivOS, and it wasn't their cup of tea. Shame because I have 120 hours and haven't finished it due to real life, now I'm afraid to go back, because I forgot most of how it works. All I remember is I fought death knights in a cursed forest. I probably won't touch 2 for a while either because I need to study.

That's the issue with long games, I have trouble starting and going back now I'm not a neet.

fug

Like what? Don't tell me faggot characters is somehow too much for you when the series has had people fuck lizards, skeletons and robots.

Well Divinity Original Sin 2 is so far GOTY and apparently it has SJW shit in it according to OP.

Every setting that has Swords and Arrows has to be medieval now? So the Romans were medieval? The fact that the game has Niggers and Arabs should be enough of a sign that it's not.

Does it really need to be said that a certain type of skill goes well with Polymorph? Polymorph is so good that just about every build should have a minimum of two points in it.

Who are you trying to impress with those shitty non-arguments?
Why are you trying so hard to be a smug cunt?

Besides, I would rather be smug than go full autism because of faggots in a videogame that has always had faggots, scalie faggots, necrophilia faggots, orc fuckers, ect.

Jahan's been in the basement for me, but I also did his quest in act 2 by both killing the Advocate and finding the demon's true name.

Thievery is the best money maker in the game. Once you get the few uniques with +Thievery along with random Thievery belts and gloves, you can steal well over 20k gold per merchant. Or get all your items for cheap, whatever. Point is, it'll make you more money than Lucky Charm.

Or you can just go Aerothurge and 1 shot the entire screen with 1 Thunderstorm and kill stuff that walks into the screen during the next 2 turns.

2h is raw damage. There's a bunch of really good uniques in Arx that come with 3 sockets for that juicy rune damage. The Two-Handed skill is amazing compared to the other weapon skils, especially with a 3 socket amulet.

Dual wield is average. Dodge is awful unless you heavily invest into it, the off-hand doesn't benefit from weapon buffs like Venom Coating, Sparkmaster or Firebrand and I haven't seen any 1h weapons with 2 or 3 sockets, meaning you can't have a stat stick as an off-hand.

Spear is a finesse two hander. The only advantage I can see from going Spears is by making a Lone Wolf duo, giving the Spear guy Opportunist + a bunch of other area denial skills like Medusa Head, Inner Demon, Blinding Radiance and that one fire skill and just have mobs kill themselves walking past you. Interesting thing about Spears is that the +3 Finesse rune gives %air damage instead of physical and the best spears have built-in air/aerothurge related stuff on them. Could be possible to have a really weird Finesse/Aerothurge/Two-Handed build with a bunch of Int on the side that does dual elements.

Shield doesn't trade much away but gives you CC immunity, more or less. The extra armor you get form it means you'll pretty much never take enough damage for your armors to break. Also, Shield Throw is fucking retarded. After having played through the game with a party that had a 2h guy, a dual wield strength guy and a dual wield dagger guy, I honestly think the better option is 1h+shield.

Grenade damage doesn't scale worth a damn on tactician. They're basically worthless come act 2. I can see Ambidextrous being wonderfully OP in Honour mode where you blow your money to craft Source scrolls and just open up fights with two back-to-back Chain Lightnings or something retarded.

Hydro's meant to be utility/crowd control, but starting in act 2 every fight will have the area covered in Necrofire by turn 2, which makes the whole ice gimmick pointless.

Bone Widow + Supercharge + Living on the Edge + Enrage.

I myself don't really give a fuck if the Divinity series' setting can be considered "medieval" or not. I just think OS 2 is a game of sufficient quality that I can dismiss two or three gay couples in the final and worst act. Of the 30ish hours I've put into this game, less than a minute was spent interacting with those characters.

So, that mirror lets change my stats? That would be really neet.

By first area do you mean Fort Joy? I left on a small boat. Is the mirror in the area after fort Joy or after that as well?

Act 1 is 'Fort Joy'. You're now in Act 2, which is the rest of the island called Reaper's Eye. The end of Act 2 is where you get access to the respec mirror. You find it on the Lady Vengeance after killing Alexandar.

Tell me about Fane! Why does he wear the mask?

Yet another Holla Forums meme game. Why oh why did I bother pirating this garbage ass game. Even after doing every quest in Fort Joy I still stand no chance even against any more than one enemy at a time. I am always at a disadvantage. Even with a full party at level 3 (the highest level I could possibly get) I wouldn't stand a chance against even those two magisters guarding the boat.
What's the fucking point of customization if only a few builds will work? Dropped hard. Wish I didn't waste so much time pirating it.

You can play almost any build in classic mode.

Well apparently not as a Shadow blade.

...

Kek. Divinity is amazing because of how ass blasted it makes you reddit faggots.

Anyone have the caps of half channers playing Divinity OS 1 and being completely destroyed and angered by it?

I am playing Shadow Blade in Tactician mode and it is working fine. You are just shit. Learn to to stealth and prioritize targets and when to attack.

Perhaps he is wondering why someone would rip a man's face off before throwing him off a boat.

How can one be such a tremendous faggot?

Just checking back and seeing my bait worked, thanks lads

Co-op is a very different game.

You are bad at video games. Accept it.

There's a difference between difficulty and bullshit.

You're supposed to not suck dick. Please do enlighten me how so many people made it through those fights.

There's quite a few quests in the beginning of Fort Joy that you can get through with no combat at all. Do some of those, get a level or two.

user, what is your current party setup and how do you set up the field before going into combat?

...

Do your party members have no armour? Are you buffing before the fight? Are you initiating fights? You say you're level 3, yet you apparently let the enemy get the drop on you every fight.

This feels familiar somehow.

DOS isn't garbage.

I just finished the game and I swear to God I'm sitting through literally 15 minutes of Kickstarter names.

Why. All I want is to make sure there's no hidden scene after the credits or something. If some fucker wants to sit through all of this shit and find their name, give them an option to read this in the menu or something. Don't make EVERYONE sit through all of this bullshit. And if you ARE going to make everyone sit through this, DON'T PUT ALL THE NAMES IN ONE FUCKING COLUMN. 90% OF THE SCREEN SPACE IS UNUSED. YOU COULD HAVE PUT 5 OR 6 COLUMNS OF NAMES AND THIS FARCE WOULD HAVE BEEN OVER IN LIKE 2 OR 3 MINUTES TOPS.

And just in case anyone else cares, no, there's no extra scene after the credits. Feel free to instantly quit as soon as the credits start rolling.

I know this is bait, but you need to get good and try and plan your fights more. Taking the crocs as an example, 2/3 of them have no magic armor, so freezing them/stunning them will always work, also consider paying attention to their patrols before just waltzing in so the third has to spend an entire turn getting to you.

In b4 he instantly picked tactician because he's a tryhard

Currently I've got a lizard with pyrokinetic and geomancer, using a wand and shield. I have the Red Prince doing melee, Ifan with a crossbow, and the last spot I've tried a few different people. Right now I have Lohse because I want her Restoration.
Pretty much what you'd expect. Melee in front, magic farther back, and Ifan on high ground if that's possible and if not then further back like the magic. Those further back I try to keep apart so they don't get caught in the same attacks.

They have such armour as I've found so far, which isn't much. And as it happens the one who died to the frogs had the most magic armour of my entire party.
Yes, Fortify on a melee party member and Encourage on everyone.

Does anyone know how different it is? Because I get the feeling original stuff will be an after thought. I just want to play a virtuous knight maybe undead, probably human. I would pick other races, but making armour a racial thing was a mistake, elven armour look hideous, and lizards are too furry for me. No one wants to play a manlet either.

...

Premade characters get their own specific quests and dialog but if you create your own character you can do whatever the fuck you want with them.

Damage isn't the only thing grenades are good for though. One AP for freeze, knockdown, and a two-turn charm among other things is pretty handy. All with no cooldown as well, so you can keep shit perma-CCed as necessary

I swear, every fucking fight starts with Fane getting set on fire and every fucking enemy and their grandma making a beeline for him.

Don't forget to use the environment. For the crocs, try engaging from high ground, oiling the path they would have to take to reach you with the nearby barrel so it takes them 4 turns just to get to you while you are doing increased damage all the way. No one should die to just the fossil strikes, even at level 2.

For the houndmaster and archers, try retreating to one of the cells so they come at you one at a time. Oil again is useful to spread them out.

Actually, I take back what I was going to say. Party setup doesn't matter shit cause the crocs were a bitch in beta, but in the full release it's possible to whip their ass solo, even without Lone Wolf and on Tactician as long as you're not a caster with a paltry few skills on you. You on the other hand have a full-fledged party and can't handle shit. How does that work?
'

That's a bug, there's a mod to fix enemy loremaster skills on the nexus.

Yeah, here it is. nexusmods.com/divinityoriginalsin2/mods/67/?

Thanks m8.

Yeah, I have no idea how you're dying like this. Everyone else wins easily in the scenario you're in.

My first strategy was to put the softer party members up there, before I learned they could clip through the wood and attack me anyway, and before I was aware that crocodiles had spells and teleportation.
I did actually end up getting those guys eventually, pretty much purely due to Ifan on the high ground, who I hadn't had in the party during the previous two attempts.

What the fuck is this?

What magic caster?

Waltz.

Weird, he usually attacks during the Griff fight.

Murder and tension doesn't seem to work perfectly. Butter accused me of murder after I killed Griff because I didn't initiate the combat through dialogue, which technically is murder.

I just killed one by one. Using the teleport skill from the globes.

That's interesting, because the Griff fight she helped me with I had initiated outside dialogue.

She accused me of committing murder after helping me murder them. There doesn't seem to be any check for who would accuse you of a crime when your tension is high.

Well however you ended up doing it, the entire point of tactician mode is to come at it with some kind of specific strategy, rather than simply hoping to out-damage everything.

I did the same with Fenel, the dude who had the Face Ripper. I just teleported, Killed them one by one. (Monks, Meat Golems, finaly felen himself) HIght abuse is really important too.

So, I try to talk to Emmie, or even throw the ball at the dogs, but I can't get them to be pacified. Am I doing something wrong? I sneak into the room to talk to Emmie, but she can't tell the difference between friend or foe.

You did talk to buddy right? Exhausted all his conversation options? He gets distracted by the cat, but that doesn't mean he's done talking.

Basically you walk into the room and a conversation starts, where you basically just tell Emmie that buddy misses her. That's pretty much it.

Oh okay. So even after you get the quest, there's more talking to him to do?

took me this long to realize Ifan had Pet Pal

I mean I agree Holla Forums tier ideology has derailed a lot of threads in the last year or so, but at the same time it isn't as bad as it used to be and thats fine with me.

Oh, also the other problem is the dogs go hostile at the same time all the magisters do. Some say it's when you escape, but I think it's more to do with when you attack certain ones. There's no talking at that point

I was thinking of starting again since my last save is quite fucked up with no way to recover and frankly I don't want to keep going on that party.

I have been thinking of making a party like this, feedback is appreciated. This is not exactly a min maxing party but going for what seems fun and can actually work without trying to kill myself while trying:

Knight (Main): Fane or Custom Elf (Both Undead) MELEE. Necromancy (2-3) + Warfare 10 + Twohanded 10 . Only STR in the party, less problems about loot and who gets what but less efficient than the others in general for combat however lowering PHYS will help greatly for CC from Pyro's Geo Earthquake and Inquisitor's Warfare CC that is resisted by Phys. Secondary stat CON. Thief. Unstable Comeback kid.

Inquisitor : Red Prince (Lizard) (3 Warfare 10 Two handed 10 Pyro) MELEE Secondary stat CON for survival. STAFF Two handed. Persuasion. Demon executioner.

Pyroblaster : Ifan (Human) (Pyro 10, Poly 5, Geomancer 5, Soundrel 1) RANGE Secondary stat WITS for sweet crit with Savage. Dual Wielding Wands for when shit is on CD. Bartering. Glass cannon pawn. (I chose Ifan cause I need someone that starts with Pet Pal and he also has Bartering bonus to go through Fort Joy, will remove Pet Pal and give it to the Lizard most probably in Act 2)

Summoner : Lohse (Human), Beast (Dwarf), Sebille (Elf) or Fane (Undead) Hybrid/Support (Aerothurge for teleport, Necro 2-3 for debuffs, Hydro for support) RANGE. Main stat CON for survival and WITs as secondary, will never use any skill that scales off INT, only character that will use a shield and a wand. Lucky Charm. Glass cannon far out man.

Let me post fullchan for fucks sake. This post is a test.

You want persuasion on your main character because he is the one people talk to.

If you really want the information on what is good… (steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1143412184)

Out of the available followers, are the ones I have in my party when I take the little boat out of Fort Joy the only ones that stay available? Or do the others pop up again somehow?
I'm lugging around 7 pounds of flesh that'll be useless if that Edge Elf won't appear again.

You only have access to who you leave with.

The others show up on the big boat when you leave fort joy.

Melee can't function without movement skills and only having 1 movement skill on a cooldown is going to leave your melee unable to do much of anything except run through field effects. That being said, make sure you have either points in Huntsman for Tactical Retreat or Polymorph for the flying skill. Also, give your melee Pawn, it's 1 free AP per turn while Executioner certainly isn't always free AP.

For your summoner, consider going for a bit of Geo and Warfare after you get to act 3. Both have utility and both have damage that doesn't require stats, mainly Shield Toss, Reactive Armor and Overpower. Had a summoner running around with nearly 25k armor at the end of the game. Also, definitely have your summoner be Human, their racial Encourage works on summons and totems.

One thing to keep in mind is that a pure physical build can easily help bring down magical armor with Sparkmaster, Firebrand or Venom Coating. You can use those without having to invest points into the skills if you use +skill gear to compensate.

Why Geo5 on Ifan?

what do I do when the game starts being "entire battlefield of necrofire" every fight?

Ive tried blessing it, it just goes back to normal fire, then some void fag immediately makes it necrofire again

No everyone gets on boat and you get to pick your final four.

Maybe, not in the way you expect.

You can put the mask on yourself and turn yourself into an elf and eat the flesh.

That is a problem for one fight I can think of in the whole game. And one area.

Surfaces aren't a big deal really.

You can't really do much except kill them faster.

It's a big issue for Geo and Hydro since they basically get locked out of using their ground effects after a few turns. Also an issue with melee heavy groups since you need to run through the fire a lot. Spread Your Wings fixes that to a certain degree though.

Geo 5 on the Pyro since I cant increase it since he's going to use Poly 5 for Medusa and other things.
I need a Geo in the party for armor, oil+pyro, earthquake CC, poison to heal the undead.

For the melee I will obviously get Escapism besides Phoenix dive through gear and cloak and dagger. Depending on how the gear drops I'll have one or the other, maybe even both besides Phoenix. There's little point into spending Combat skill points into it.

The summoner doesn't need Geo since Ifan already carries it. Shield toss is something that I can consider greatly and yes best summoner seems to be Lohse but I'm afraid of losing Corpse Eating since I would not have a single elf in the party unless I kick Fane for a custom elf undead, I can't swap Ifan for Sebille since I need him badly for Fort Joy (Pet Pal + Bartering talent early on).

If I was able to do a full party up to my taste I wouldnt mind place Red Prince as main so people speak to him, however I cant. Fort Joy has no thief unless you make it yourself and the best thieves tend to be undead thanks to free lockpicks.
I do believe that I would have little problems with it since I'd put Prince always forward to speak with everyone, although some scripted events will fuck me over.

How bad would it be a run without an Elf? How much would I miss out? I don't give a shit about the free skills, I care about quests.

...

Summoner tends not to have much to do after a few turns though. The basic idea is that you don't need more than a point or two in Hydro and Geo since gear will give you the +skills you need for the lvl 2 and 3 skills. Since you're not using those schools for damage, having a lot of points in Geo is counter productive. Or if you want to look at it another way: let Ifan nuke stuff and let the summoner support the party.

I've seen people say that undead can shapeshift into elves and eat flesh.

Everyone can shapeshift with fane's mask

Is summoner the strongest source of magic damage? I've been playing aero / hydro on my main save with a party of four and summoner online with a friend and I just find the summoner doing more work

Am I retarded or is this one much harder than the first game? My friend and I cruised through the first one, and now we are getting our shit kicked in every single fight.

It is harder. I put this game on Tactician thinking it would be as easy as the first but I was fucking wrong and now I can't change it and I am stuck in a game getting my ass fucked raw.

It's harder for a number of reasons.

1) The armor system makes cheesing status effects much more difficult. You could layer an enemy or group of enemies with every kind of status effect under the sun in the first Original Sin, but now you have basically an entire health bar to burn through before that's an option.

2) Basically tied to number 1, builds in this game are forced to be physical-only or magic-only. Building two types of damage in a party is anathema, because it means several of your characters are going to have to burn through their own separate health bar. Building two types of damage on a single character is even worse, as it's effectively gimping them entirely. In the original, you could have each character dual into magic and physical and it would work fine. In this game, you're forced into one kind of damage if you want to be optimal.

I've had the opposite experience. Pure Cryomancy, keeping shit frozen or ice surfaces knocking enemies down constantly. The ice spells seem to do alot of damage too.

Alot of the weapons do both physical and magic damage in Act 2 onwards. I finished on tactician difficulty fine with 1 Caster, 2 Physical and 1 Pure Support. It wasn't particularly difficult considering you can just quick save and quick load for specific encounter quirks.

Is there a taunt move of some kind?
I'm sick of enemies ignoring my melee and charging/teleporting straight for ranged party members.

Nah, having two types works just fine if you craft your party for it. For example, having an Int Geomancer that has just enough Str to use Str armor and can either blow people up with Shield Toss/Reactive Armor/Overpower but still mostly does spell damage. Hell, a Rogue with Venom Coating is going to go through magic armor like butter. Same with Whirlwind + Sparkmaster.

The real issue is when you only have 1 magic + 3 physical or 3 magic + 1 physical. The one that's stuck on his own to break armor with no support from his team is going to be dead weight, especially since the rest of the party won't benefit from having the type of armor they don't care about stripped away.

Warfare gets a Taunt. It's, for reasons completely unknown to anyone, only effective against enemies who have no physical armor.

Why is aggro in this game so fucking stupid? That Drillworm nigger absolutely refuses to attack anyone but my party and continuously chases them. Even while using the reduced enemy loremaster mod.

Maybe this game isn't for you dude. Also using a mod? Unforgivable.

Seems so. Shame i can't refund now but at least i got some enjoyment out of it.

This isnt an MMO.

Don't worry all the professional game reviewers couldn't get past act 1 either and DoS2 is sitting at 95 on metacritic.

Try teleporting your party up onto the western walls near the path down to the boat the seekers take and initiate the fight from up there. Take out the archer and throw down oil on the scaffolding with the ladder. Use teleport to send the enemy assassin pet to the stone roof with the ladder that it can't use. If you're positioned on the uppermost area above the scaffolding you should be able to send him over there fairly easily. When the worm shows up abandon your position if he pops next to you. He likes to burrow around anyway. It's not that hard of a fight. Ignore the worm and let the magisters fight it while you pick them off. If you can handle the witch fight you should definitely be able to handle this. I've beaten it pretty reliably 3 times this way with different party compositions.

This is a fucking great game.

I've spent a week tinkering but fixing any of the more fundamental shit seems out of my depth. The Initiative fuckup is what really gets my goat, and seriously saps any will I had to work on anything for Divinity 2 Engine mods.

Act 1 boss is a "Brain check" if you can't beat act 1 boss you don't deserve to go to act 2.

If you have a strong character you can put barrels by them too. Barrels are heavy.

theres nothing wrong with the armor/magic resist system.

My big problem is that the fucking worm burrows onto my party every single time, dealing around 80 damage and knocking them all down. Not even spreading out helps, he'll just focus down my weakest member and move on to the next one.
I'll just see if i can level up one more time before fighting that fucker again, maybe it'll make the difference.

i kept my party away from the fight and used only 1 person to active combat and stay in combat but out of danger. Then when the worm is about to die I sent the rest of my guys in to clean up.

Do you know what happens if you try to fuck with Alexander with your source collar still on? I was able to sneak past the shriekers in co-op but didn't want to fuck over my party members.

Are you always attacking from the same direction? How are you positioning yourself? Are you sneaking characters into different places instead of running in? What level are you?

There's plenty wrong with it, actually. But aside from actual D&D games, I can't think of any other RPGs with a better CC system than DOS2.

Focus on setting up the first round to survive while staying close to the magisters. Once the worm arrives, all the magisters swap to it, meaning its armor will drop super fast and it'll just get CCd to death.

There's nothing wrong with the concept, it's just really fucking shallow in its implementation. Almost nothing interacts with or manipulates the Armor System and it's just a really boring DPS Race to get back to chain-CCing.

I put those barrels close to Alexandar and watching it explode around that faggot is pretty satisfying. And when he teleports away I teleport him back into the fire. And somehow he survive all that. Fucking plot armor.

thats a stretch, the values aren't so high. Playing on tactician difficulty it only takes between 2-4 AP to get rid of either the phys or magic bar into their health, then CC the shit out of them. Also they don't have to have their bar depleted, so long as the CC skill results in their HP being damaged it will work. I used CC all the time in a mixed damage type party for my first and second playthrough.

I'm blasting through my second playthrough on Honor Mode so I've experienced a good portion of what's possible with the Armor System in its current implementation. Outside of Acid and Overpower, very little actually interacts with Armor and there's pitifully little in terms of character building to influence it; aside from chasing the exponential gear curve.

This game hit about 640k owners on Steam. Let's say GoG version has about 160k owners(when they said the game sold about 500k, steamspy showed 380k IIRC) it sold about 800k in total in what, 3 weeks? That's extremely good for turnbased RPG, I hope we see other turnbased RPGs too because of this

Level 7, setting up my magic users on the high ground to the west and with melee through the front. I've messed around with the mage's positioning but they always end up getting assfucked by the worm.

I'm having a hard time surving the worm's endless burrow+necrofire combos. Usually he'll manage to take out two of my party members before going down. Sometimes the enemy mage will even decide to be more of a cunt and starts teleporting all my characters onto the necrofire right in front of the worm.

i agree, gear makes ACT2 onwards GGEZ regardless of your party composition. It's strange that the hardest part of the game is ACT1. In ACT4+ bloody one shot the last few encounters of the game with the Arrow Storm skill.

Do you have level appropriate gear for your entire party? He shouldn't break through your defenses that quickly, even on tactician.

Both Fane and Lohse have pretty shit gear so i'll work on that before trying again.
For now i'll just sleep and see if i do better when properly rested.

The worm does a high amount of AoE piercing damage if you're near it.

What's wrong with gaining two levels and literally being ten times as more powerful as you used to be? It's retarded scaling, but you are becoming a god.

The worm is immune to MOST CCs. The only hard CC that I had that worked on it was Chicken Claw.

Oh man that was the funniest fucking moment for me in multiplayer. We tried to knock it down and that didn't work so I said FUCK IT, tactical retreated next to it, and turned it into a chicken.

Which version do you niggers have? Running a v3.0141.716 GOG build, is there a later version out there?

I bought it.

Never patch a Larian game unless you literally cannot run it. Their patches ALWAYS make the game worse.

But all we did was remove the infinite damage loop? What's wrong goy? Don't you want to remove infinite damage?

They haven't put up any patch notes since the first patch, which nerfed reactive armor and sockets. I also heard they were nerfing lucky charm too.

Like I said, their patches only exist to make the game less fun, don't install unless absolutely necessary.

I'm playing on a pirated copy of version 3.0.143.324, is that good or is it fucked?

Also, specifically in the case of the infinite damage, the way it existed was actually perfectly balanced and fine. Not only did it require two party members to set up, one of which MUST be undead (unless the enemy was undead), but it also required both the enemy and undead party member to have 0 physical armor.

Enemies with 0 physical armor may as well be dead already. You can hard CC them indefinitely at a fairly low cost. Using infinite damage on them is generally a higher cost, making it technically underpowered.

they gave it sharper diminishing returns.
level 1-5 Lucky Charm is exactly the same. Both now and prepatch level 5 gives you a 1/20 change to get an item. The nerf effects level 6 onwards and at level 10 is the most notable change. Before it was a 1/10 chance now it's 1/15 chance in getting an item.

The loop posted on reddit and kotaku was shit. All you needed was 1 character with 1 Necro and 2 Summon. Soulmate+Decaying Touch. Some user posted a webm of this better loop in a previous thread. The nerf fixed what allowed it to happen so even this one is patched out.

Yes, Decaying touch is the alternative. You either decay the enemy, or you use soulmate on an undead teammate and shackle the enemy. Both Decay AND shackle are blocked by physical armor, and in order to leech health you have to deal vitality damage, so the teammate has to have no physical armor either.

no you do both, you use soul mate and then decaying touch on the enemy. for physical just have another party member get it low first or if you made your necro a glass cannon you could do it just off the bat.

I know how the combo works. My point is that it's pretty much useless. If you can get the enemies armor down you already won, anything else is just for fun really.

You probably want to update to 3.0.143.148 at least, since in the earlier versions there is a bug that can cause your safe games to not load.
Them raining in some things that completely trivialize the game after a certain point is also not a bad thing.

Is there anyone who DOESN'T kill all the Magisters he encounters?

Killing the blind one was satisfying as fuck.

None of the shit they've nerfed trivializes the game, it's all just fun shit that at best makes grinding loot less tedious.

I just started a purge run right now. Plan on killing everyone possible to see if I can break the game/what happens.

You might end up level 23-24 at the end.

You think so? I don't plan on doing many quests. Other than the shit like getting the collar removed.

Does anyone wanna coop with me?
Lobby's called PlzJoin if anyone feels like starting a new game with me

Was just gonna have a power nap…

Does anything interesting happen if you kill Tarquin when you first meet him?

Yeah, you'll lose out on some quests.

Damn, wanted to play multiplayer before going to work, too late apparently.

I want to play this game so badly but the two torrents I've tryed crash every 5 minutes after getting off the boat
I don't have enough money to buy it being a poorfag is suffering

Want me to family share the game with you, fam?

Download a GOG release.

That's because this game is actually good. If you look at the other Turn based RPGs that came out like Wasteland or Shadow Run you see that they have some quite a few laws. I hope Cyberpunk 2077 is turn based.

Backed the kikestarter. I feel sorry for any faggot who didn't. I got that nice fucking cloth map for and the GOTY edition for the same price a console cuck would buy their yearly COD clone.

Don't worry mate, I'll figure something out a friend offered me the same thing, I think I'll accept until I have the money I thank you dearly thoug.

Already did and crashes even more often.

Had your problem, plus loading times soared to 5+ minutes. You need to patch your game to 143.148, then this shit fixes itself.

...

I forgot to ask this at the time but it feels like it's become more pressing as I've gotten further.
What is considered normal for dealing with ambushes? Location is so important it's often a complete waste of time to try and fight my way out of them the first time, but it doesn't feel legitimate to note their locations, reload, and set up with foreknowledge.

Act 2 and onwards, it shouldn't even really matter outside of a few key fights. You should be able to wreck anything that pops out at you with even a half-decent party.

Certain fights, like the oil field fuckery with Jonathan and the idiot sourceror who kills himself in Necrofire by turn 3, probably will require advance knowledge and gaming the system, but they're pretty rare. In my case, what I always do when I feel a fight is imminent is take most of my characters, put them in stealth a ways away from the lead character, get the lead character in combat, and then maneuver the remaining party members however I want in stealth.

I just got to that point holy shit.

And then the occasional bullshit fight that you have to come back when you level up. Those fucking scarecrows and the flaming crucifix bitch

I'm not counting fights like those. Both of those are straight fucking level checks, no amount of positioning will help you if you can't survive the first turn of attacks and resulting status effects you'll be pelted with.

nevermind me
