Atlus has no legal grounds here. Even if emulation weren't protected by law (which it is), Sony would be the party with the rights to issue a DMCA or cease-and-desist. Atlus has no right to interfere.
This would be like Square Enix telling you to stop developing a SNES emulator, just because they made some SNES games in the past. It's absurd.

What else do they expect other than a resounding get fucked? Do they not realize how arrogant they sound when they say 'no version of our game should be playable on a system we didn't pick'? They sound like Blizzard when Blizzard says there's no real interest in servers for old versions of WoW when they actively take down new private servers every single week.
