We're having a meeting on defending immigrant's rights this Thursday. We were supposed to have a rally too but the fucking school wants to charge us to pay for police presense, we're planning to try later again soon.

I don't have the wonderful image saved of the Trot saying he supported US imperialism of Latin America because the socialist rebellions were made up of Christians. All my left-wing groups are made of batshit insane Trots who view destroying religion to be more important than protesting for collective bargaining and lower tuition fees.

Seems like every leftist org "sucks at organizing" when we get right down to it. Occupy was our biggest achievement in recent history, and despite its resistance to Democrat cooptation, it got COINTELPRO'd in the ass.

I'd be honestly surprised if someone unironically focused on bringing about cultural change as a "precondition" to socialism. It's a pretty heterodox position. The idea has always been to take the revolutionary proletariat as it is, not to reform and "purify" it into a revolutionary class.
The question is whether this traces to a theoretical defect in Trotskyism or a theoretical defect in individual practice/understanding. It seems to be the latter.
