What are some things that take priority right away when starting a new campaign?

Just be an organization of peace.

Gorilla tactics school to get to 6 man squad ASAP

Been playing this, so I can answer this to some extent.

Try starting off at Skirmisher HQ for the construction bonus (for GTS and Infirmary), use the 2x health tweak in the options as a QOL thing, make a beeline for elerium and plasma weaponry cause your soldier's HP will be large enough with +health vest. Keep your squad small (3 teams, no more) and that's counting unique faction troops (of which you can get 2 per faction, 3 max). Having a reaper unit at the start of the game can do wonders, especially with squadsight snipers, cause reapers have ezmode sneaking and the ability to permanently mark enemies through fog of war. Skirmisher units are kind of eh, whereas templars have potential, and are melee powerhouses, but they're both more later early-game things.

I'll cut it off here cause I'm getting a bit long-winded.

Get down on your knees and pray that one of the Chosen isn't immune to overwatch.

Overwatch has only situational value against the assassin, hunter's usually too far away and encourages you to spend that extra AP dodging his shot instead of spending it on overwatch. Could see it working against warlock, but usually I don't even bother.

That's funny, because the Assassin was immune to overwatch in my first campaign. It made fighting her an absolute pain in the ass.
It's funny, because the other two weren't immune, which made them complete pushovers.

I also got an overwatch immune assassin. I just had to eat the first hit to get her to break stealth, but I could usually obliterate her asshole on the next turn. I genuinely fucking hate the Warlock, because he can stun your units without exposing himself, and he can summon the explosive zombies from hell. And, seriously, what the fuck is their fetish for exploding enemies and objects in this expac?

They're pushovers anyway. Each of the Chosen usually has a faction weakness, and top that with brittle and you'd be dishing out 13-15 damage per AP - even more if you go for environmental damage like the Reaper's remote detonation or claymore. Even more hilarious if you can inflict status effects like burning, or continent bonuses which put them permanently at 1 AP provided they don't have LOS on you. Basically, they die so fast that I don't usually bother setting up overwatch.

Did they rebalance the game? Back then enemies had nerfed guns and you could use rounds with plasma weapons.

Getting Open X-Com.

This gonna derail into snake porn again?

hopefully not, furshit is disgusting

pleb

...

make soldier waifus

OwO

Literally impossible, the females look fucking hideous in both games.

mods

Expecting anything different would be optimistic.

No sneks are haram.

One can hope.

How, exactly? The bitch leaps in, dazes a fag and then leaps out of effective range: Sharpshooters can't hit her on account of line of sight breaking features and my currently one ranger with run and gun usually can't catch up.

Gas waifufags.

is there an optimal squad combination or does it depend on the mission type? For instance, would it be a good idea to have two specialists, one medic and the other combat hacker?

uninstall

In War of the (((Chosen))) the new AP system lets you autistically minmax soldiers, so you can have one specialist with both trees.

((Pay Xbucks)) to ((unlock a skill)) is hardly autistic.

It is when you realize that you have to focus your entire war effort on gaining AP for that one faggot if you want to actually fully max their skill trees

It's less powerful/necessary to max out and more reliable than meld by far. And for the record I consider 15 minutes of running and shooting exercises in SS or EU or punching bodies, cars and cows in JA2 closing every mission autistic.

sauce on the 2nd pic?

I've had literally no problem defeating the chosen.

Do yourself a favor, complete the covert op to locate all of them as soon as possible, and just get them out of the way.

danbooru.donmai.us/posts/1781530

Hetza draws some fun stuff.

The Chosen are only hard if they get the strength that makes them immune to overwatch. Except for maybe the Hunter, that makes them a big gigantic pain in the ass.

Depends on your breakthroughs and what sort of perks your soldiers get. Generally I go for a psi lab early on and try to create a deep roster of psionic soldiers in case they die since I have a habit of taking big risks. I usually end up with 6 fully leveled psi soldiers by the time I am ready to end the game.

Dōmo arigatō.

The most pain in the ass ive seen is the hunter with the inmunity to melee attacks.
Also, anyone else digs the banter of the hunter and assasin with the commander?

I just had my legendary iron-man run ruined by my stalker getting afraid of the chosen (quirk), and ran right out of cover into three purifiers, which burned her to a crisp.

I really like "quirks" in strategy games, but when a soldier gets randomly panicked and ruin the ambush, I really think it's a fucking cheap trick.

Not really since you are able to eliminate those fears in the medical center.

Jacking off to Vipers, obviously.

noice

I aint got time for that!

Then you only have yourself to blame for your dudes running off scared at the sight of space jews.

Right back at ya, user-kun.

First time playing this game, should I get the dlc or not?

If it's your first time do a run without the WOTC DLC first.

...

Yes

Why do you faggot feel the need to be so contrarian? Now I'm forced to think, Jesus. Just agree on one thing for fuck's sake

There is really no reason not to it just adds shit to the base game.

XCum

What dlc do you mean? In my opinion there is only one dlc worth something and that is alien hunters. War against the (((Jews))) is an expension pack on the other hand.

Semantics
I mean war of the chosen.

Then i would get it. Otherwise vanilla xcom2 is a bit lacking in content.

No reason not to other than the LW2 compatibility. And you're not advised to play LW2 until you know your head from your ass anyhow.

Post propaganda.

any mods worth using for openxcom?

cool team
most i see are of the purple hair faggot kind

I liked the ones that added shotguns, sniper rifles, and attack dogs.

Thanks, I try to keep the troops looking uniform relatively sensibly decked out, with the ordered chain of command and the kind of resources XCOM has access too, they're less rag tag resistance and more paramilitary insurgents. I admit I dropped the ball once I got powered armor going though.

Well, xcom 2 comes with a current year cyberpunk aesthetic.

The one that gives you combat armor (better than the starting overalls, will hold you until you get alien alloy armor), the extra guns and any cosmetic mods you fancy.
Also, be on the lookout for that mod about defending mars from ayyys after the fall of cydonia.

i'd like to see this same engine use to make a PMC/merc game
don't know if that's firaxis' thing tho..

any repacks with the new expansion out yet? or still gotta wait a few more weeks?

Fitgirl has one.

I bought this recently. Regret the purchase. Fucking glitchy as all hell. The maps are just flat out trash. Nothing seems to work right. People just constantly shoot you or spot you through walls and points where they should have no possible way whatsoever to do any of that.
I played EU with pretty much no issue, when it came to tactics and whatnot. I ended up even doing a full iron man playthrough, which is rare for me. But this shit, I can't fucking handle this shit. Having my guys constantly fucking die due to random utter bullshit is just driving me slowly insane.
Maybe I ought to play an easier difficulty, but then, when the game actually works, it'd be far too easy.

At least the sneks are qt.

Should mention to be fair, I've not actually got the "war of the chosen" lot.
I'd rather not pay such a large amount for the thing. Game as is was already a touch higher than I typically go for.

Good choice.
Even if no-helmet is shit.

The maps are all procedurally generated, which is a huge step forward from EU. But of course, it makes them also more prone to glitches and bugs. That being said, i personally never had many problems with glitches. There were the occasional weird firing angles and cars who spawned halfway into buildings, but nothing really game breaking. Maybe i just got lucky.

In my case, it's mostly due to my autistic positioning.
Maybe if I get used to it, it'll be okay, but at the moment, I'm constantly getting ambushes and plans ruined by, say, a guy gets revealed where he should not even be visible from that street, or a flanking maneuver around a target still leaves it at full cover, or far too often, a grenade doesn't actually destroy the cover someone's hiding behind despite literally destroying the whole fucking wall.
The revealed trooper is the one what really just kills me the most inside. I like to have a forward scout who stays concealed, typically, acting as a spotter for squadsight snipers. Problem is, far too fucking often, they get revealed by complete bullshit, and next thing you know I've got three pods activated.
I'm honestly starting to wonder if I should just abandon the concealment mechanic, at this rate.

It doesn't help that the enemy AI is completely retarded, and it seems melee was added to counter this retardation. Any time you're not up against melee troops, it's piss-easy to stop them. Meanwhile, melee troops tend to charge up an autistically long distance and gut my troops.

upgrade your weapons. get psionics. best defense is a good offense

Why is this game so fucking expensive

but what mods, todd?

Get a reaper, that will erase any problems with getting revealed. In order to reveal them they need to be around 1-2 tiles from the enemy, and they don't lose concealment if your team does.

don't play ironman, the game is so buggy you'll lose soldiers to bullshit glitches like getting stuck and can't move, or the save gets corrupted, play 'honest man run' instead (save, but only use the latest one unless the game glitches), also the game keeps doing fucking unfair surprises all the time, so make sure the 'you afford to fail' the next mission, because you are going to

Just download the Bronzeman mod.
It lets you make all the saves and backups you want on the strategy layer, but you can't save during missions. If something's fucked, you can just restart the mission rather than having to abandon the entire file like ironman.

Any strategy that doesn't involve getting a Resistance Ring up and running asap isn't worth following

If you know a bunch of things about the A.I. you should be able to outplay them easily. Things you should keep in mind are:

As for your positioning, that´s just a skill you have to learn after many hard lessons. Always try to give your scouts cover from more than one side to prevent getting flanked in concealment. Also keep in mind that all these things apply to vanilla xcom2 because i haven´t bought the expansion, yet. Maybe they changed some A.I. routines there, but i dunno.

Also a small thing concerning the A.I is, that Aliens really like to use AOE attacks like grenades and bombardments. So avoid grouping up too much, especially on rooftops. Rooftops are really dangerous most of the times anyway and you should only place one or two soldiers up there at a time, preferably snipers of course.

That dude looks cool as fuck but that nickname is supremely gay

None of my issues are AI related. As mentioned, enemy AI is completely retarded most the time. They seem to willingly move into flanked positions rather often. Problems come in to play when I get some bullshit with the terrain.
Enemy AI is pretty easy to get by, minus the fucking melee troops who just charge in half the fucking time and sacrifice themselves for a kill.

Isn't Adrienne a girl name?

im guessing she's kept around the avenger to keep morale up, huh?

user, you being shit doesn't mean the maps are shit but I'll be the first to agree how wotc tunnels and ruins are much more interesting.

Do explain how you're supposed to plan for somehow a guy having full fucking cover despite nothing being around him, or having a pod see you through the fucking floor, or having your own cover just somehow magically disappear into a flanking position, despite facing right towards the guy.
And of course all this jazz is leaving off the completely broken destruction. Some days I'll have an entire building bust to random weapons fire, sending my team through the floor. I've had a melee troop somehow slash the ground he was standing on. Likewise, I've had grenades just do jack shit randomly, not even so much as lighting the area on fire.
The game, incidentally, does a shit job of telling you what can and cannot be destroyed. Xcom EU was far, far better about this jazz. Never had a single issue in that game, outside maybe the finickyness of some of the UFO diagonal points.

Full cover (in open) can be explained with several skills, same goes for certain psyker opponents pulling bullshit detection. But I am calling bullshit on most of the other based on the sole fact that if my ((slav raped version)) has that shit patched then surely your official version has it too.

And UFO likewise didn't tell you shit about terrain features. Demo packs and plasma cannons usually took out walls but I lost count of random shots popping a support pillar in a base instafailing the mission or hitting some tank and lighting half the map on fire.

Full cover in open on standard enemies is not a fucking skill, you autistic shitboot.
Nor is detecting someone through the fucking floor.
Besides, that jazz happens with standard units.
I bought the fucking thing, and have it up on steam. It's a broken pile of trash, poorly built just for the sake of a cashgrab, plain and simple.

The fuck's "UFO"?

How is the DLC? Because it looks like a mess of out-of-place, thematically clashing nonsense, but if the gameplay is actually improved by it, I might consider it.

First if you're going to throw insults do it like a man and not some hipster. Fuck you, you're a smart ass, get out of that uh, jabroni outfit. The classics. And like I said, patch that shit and try and have some fun. It's definitely not the best game you'll ever play but it's engaging and shiny enough to hold your interest for awhile.

And you now know to pirate and avoid the whole buyer's remorse jerk off routine next time.

Neither is dodge, sims, cover arcs or various status effects but you still need to account for them.

The notzombies are surprisingly interesting, the new classes are meh to broken and there are some new maps and quality of life improvements. Also most of the mods are broken until updated.

Are you a retard? Fundamentally autistic? Steam automatically patches your shit, you illiterate faggot.
It's a trashheap, especially compared to EU.

Moron, dodge is a fucking mechanic in the goddamn game, not a fucking glitch
Are you seriously this much of a dicksucking cuckold where you have to defend such a broken piece of shit with such trash-tier arguments?
I'd call you a shill, but I don't think even shills are this fucking desperate.
Your game's a trashpile. A shoddy piece of work developed to make money off the success of EU.

git gud.

It changes up the game quite a bit, especially on the geoscape. The expansion provides a nice mix of vanilla and longwar features. The only real drawback is needing a separate version for most mods, though a lot of the major mods have already been updated.

Do you parents know you visit forbidden sites?

Pardon me for not knowing what it's called in irrelevant nations.

Pardon accepted. Now about that "Steam automatically patches your shit" it is the first thing you turn off when you get a steam account, my young friend.

To my knowledge, that is no longer an option any more.
Unless they recently re-added it.

Go back to sucking muslim dick, you eurocuck.

Lotta edge for someone bitching over what, 20 bucks? But for the sake of posterity the NA version is a (slightly improved) port, the Amiga and the UK version released first.

Stay edgy my mexican friend…

20$ is a lot of money. With that, I can feed my raifu for a day. Not that you'd know the feeling.

Relax, I'm sure you'll scrounge enough to reapply to something awful sooner then later. :^)

...

XCOM 2: The Salt Within

...

Only if your rifle is airsoft. 20USD is like 50-60 rounds if we're talking 5.56 or maybe 70-80 if chinese 7.62x39 and that's bulk prices for the cheap stuff.

Eh, depends on how much you're shooting a day. I don't tend to go more than a magazine, generally speaking.
What gets really expensive is my poor mauser. Something like 80 cents a round. Though, being bolt action, you tend to shoot even less, anyway, so in that regard it balances out.

What is all this autism?

I take it 7.62x51? I don't really go for bolt action but 7.92x57 should be cheaper.

The ayy lmao mod, I wouldn't be surprised if it was made by someone from /xcg/.

Nah, it's 8mm.
I can buy some old military surplus cheaper, mostly from the middle east, but from what I understand, that's a fair load hotter than what the krauts used, which is already a fair load hotter from what I understand than your typical regular lot, so I'm reluctant to use it.
Plus, I've had some issues with a pack I bought from a local store. A couple failed to fire at all, and a fair few of the others had a long delay before they went off.

never forget

...

Rate muh deathsquads

Actually, the AWC.

You can't get the bonus squad size until you have at least one high-ranked enough soldier, and by that time at least some of your soldiers can miss out on a potentially devastating bonus perk.

I got a Grenadier with "Death from Above" that way (after 5th but before 6th soldier upgrade), and it just obliterated whole squads of aliens thanks to the perk refunding an action point instead of actually reducing the action-point cost after the attacks.

It later was critical to my later success in the final mission, having that soldier retrained for optimal cannon use and using the ridiculous amount of free shots to clear the weaker enemies. Wouldn't have got it if the AWC was delayed.

It is. Just look at the fucking workshop page.

AWC doesn't exist in WotC

He survived the lynch or he must have clones, because he keep fucking talking in the final mission. Huey is a sneaky son of a cuck.
(wew)
Can you insert self-made slogans too? if yes then where is the Make Earth Great Again, Handle the snake tits and noone get hurt, Where is she?, Bradford sending his regard and other may-may slogans?

Gosh, it's like noone want to have fun in these days…

Yes. You can also dick around with their poses, the background and such.

No but you now get a training center, the bonds and the whole point grinding minigame.

I never played the base game the performance was terrible for me, now the expansion solved all of it and I never had any of that bullshit like in the video, the second soldier shooting should have had a flank bonus.

Thank god I'm not masochistic enough to go ironman, this user has the right idea how xcom should be played.

Yes but i didnt wanted to make it even more cringe that it is so i went with default ones

Show me your edgiest units.
Show me your stockpiles of weapons-grade cringe.

I wish some user streamed Xcom 2, i dislike playing it, due to epic miss memes and the fact when you miss the bullets cease existing instead of hitting something else, but it's fun to watch nonetheless.

go watch beaglerush, then
he's been streaming his ironman legend campaign for 12 hours almost every day since wotc came out
the vods are all there for free, no need to lose your grip on any of your shekels

2nd pic reaper is looking good
Did you used some mods to make him look like this?

...

Yeah I did - that's the MGO Infiltrator Sneaksuits mod.

Dulled Safety Knife/10 on the edge scale, but it's a solid poster.

for my buddy ruben

That CoD fatigues mod is really something.

Can't argue with those quads. Thanks!

Im in a middle of my first playtrough of xcom 2 vanilla, should I scrap it and start over with the dlc ?

Yeah, actually it's not bad at all. Some of those packs are a bit low-res, like that titanfall one a couple of your dudes are rocking, but the CoD ones are of a roughly equal fidelity to the native textures. Some of them even line up nicely, so you can mix and match the fatigue arms with a predator torso without a weird gap.

My BarbieCOM: Fashion Unknown autism likes it when modders take the extra step to do it right.

Are you having fun? If so, just finish your current campaign and then start a new one in wotc on the next difficulty up.
It'll feel so fresh that a second playthrough right away should be a good time.

okay thanks

Never played that game proper but there's something UT4 about their style I like. Although I'm pretty stumped about what to do for T2.

Seeing how it doesn't change anything drastic I would. Unless you're really close to finish or something.

Vanilla nuCOM 2 is shit. Pirate the expansion and save yourself the headache. Also, the problems with the UI being vague or outright wrong can be fixed with mods.

I haven't played it either. I've heard T2 has a good campaign mode, but other than that I know nothing about the games besides "it's got robots and stuff".
The texture pack for it is a solid pack, but the textures are just a little fuzzier than the native XCOM textures, so mixing them with stock stuff tends to look a little bit funny, that's all.

Ayy, I meant what I'll equip them with come Tier 2+ in game armor. W.A.R. Suit in particular looks like shit.

Why is there a thread for this shit game?

Why in the world did you buy this game?

Holla Forums - Video Games
Who is saying anything about buying you nigger?

Then drop the torrent you,
DOUBLE NIGGER

...

I don't want to support a company that.

If you want to play this game so badly, go find it yourself you massive fuckwit.

Oh, I wholeheartedly recommend and have been reccomending itt pirating it I just don't like spoonfeeding angsty prats.

...

the game is like 55 niggabytes with all the dlc, are you sure you want a torrent for this uncompressed shit?

Nah its not worth it then.

Can someone explain the new bonds to me? Are two rangers a good idea or should I go for something like a sharpshooter and specialist fire team?

It works either way, if you use it well.

Gee that really cleared it up

Why are vidoegames so huge these days?

Actually I would recommend a sharpshooter bond, since the teamwork move would give him an extra action, allowing him to move and then snipe. Sharpshooters aren't very mobile as is so it'd be useful.
Of course once you permanently kill the Hunter and get his rifle, movement is no longer an issue, but still.

Good practices don't make money so who cares

bump

I wanna have a big buff snakeboy bf :3

It's so lazy how they just made attacks dicerolls. The original X-COM had actual ballistic simulation (that is, had the bullets actually exist) in 1994, for fuck's sake.

B-but it's not dumbed down for consoles since it hasn't been released for consoles yet!!!

You're really going all out when it comes to bait, aren't you?

...

Is anyone else unable to use mods with WOTC?
It's really annoying

Honestly the whole game feels lazy to me, dont get me wrong the game is "decent" but everything in it seems like minimal effort and laziness, you can just feel the game was made without any passion.
Everything is clitche to the max, safe and mediocre, there is no experimentation with new mechanic, no attempt to use modern technology to improve the fighting (better bullet mechanic, no random dice rolls, indirect support or direct support (think mortars from JA2) No hot LZ and every mission starts the same, retarded 2 actions turn system instead of some kind of time points, no levels of aiming, no melee options (bayonets for eg), simple lodouts, only 3 weapons tiers and only 1 weapon for specialty, retarded pods system that is more about cleaning up one pod on after another instead of tactical battles involving maneuvers and elaborate tactics instead the pods system discourages you from flanking and maneuvers because you fear activating another pod.

Nu-com is just lazy and mediocrate game to the core, but i still somewhat enjoy it, i just see too much wasted potential.

Firaxis can eat a big black cock for mistreating the Civ and XCOM IPs.

Look for shit marked ((wotc))

Voice mods should work, and most of the worthwhile mods (besides Long War, which will probably get ported over anyways) have been ported/updated to work with WOTC.

Go get Long War 2, you won't regret it

They're not going to make a game like the original UFO. People would complain too much about it not being "fair."

That's why I liked the first game, you were never guaranteed to win a mission. You could invade an alien base with your elite squad of agents, veterans of several successful missions and outfitted with the best gear, and one little grey dude could pop around the corner and blaster bomb them all to oblivion…

It was awesome. And that's why I always kept the colonel on the ranger.

Would you like a version without watermarks?

...

What, so it's buy the DLC to fix everything?
Kind of makes it worse.

So i just killed the hunter, and in the cinematic it said that the assasin felt "emptyness" after his death, does that mean she had incestual feelings towards him or am i just too much of a pervert?

is this the motherfucker who one shots my guys from the other side of the map when they're in full cover?

man fuck i thought i had a fucking handle on this game but going to the first chosen hide out , that last part of the mission pushed my shit in.

my guns just were not powerful enough

(checked)

Are you a Heretic user?

Wow, do you even repurpose forbidden xenotech?

Found a site with pretty much all mods for the game.
xcom2.smods.ru/

I really miss exalt. Hope they get reintroduced in xcom 3.

God damn I hate that "animation".

Oh? :^)

The only thing they had going for them over advent was the color coding. See, I hate when enemies hog all the reasonable schemes; black, white, red, blue and even green and yellow. You're pretty much left with khaki, olive and general drab and those those don't look nearly as fancy.

Is it just a diceroll though? I mean, Xcom 2 bullets can interact not only with the intended target but also the whole world geometry. For example: If your shot misses you can still potentially destroy his cover or set a car on fire which forces the enemy to change position. Stuff like that happens all the time. Especially in lategame where your standard weapons pretty much destroy a wall with just one hit. Once my own soldier missed a target and hit the floor beneath one of his comrades instead. This lead to the floor breaking and the soldier falling down, which triggered another sectopod in the building. In theory it´s just a diceroll, yes, but in practice there can happen a lot of interesting stuff in combination with the game physics.

Yeah nah, I don't really want to play it that bad since I distinctly remember the base game being pretty fucking boring.

Repacks cut that in half though.

I'd say the biggest change is how armor works. You'd get used to extremely accurate but ultimately a ton of glancing or complete deflection hits in ufo. Here it's damage soak at best.

This work?

ARRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH/10

There is actually a voice pack of that and I use it for Marbo, he's one of my best rangers

You rang?

What I don't understand is why do so many games not allow you to choose what you install?
I speak 1 language, so why am I forced to download all these other languages in text and audio that I will 100% never fucking use
My internets download speed is 600kbs in a good day, though often 400kbs, any extra bloat is just pure suffering

Bought the game at release. Played 30+ hours of it and never touched it again. I was disgusted by the new alien units and the game run like garbage.
Is it any better?

no

Making anglos suffer is a feature.

True, but the shit internet is solely on you. I mean unless you're living the dream and squatting in some cabin there's really no excuse to suffer like that.

Supposedly it does run better.

I didn't believe people when they sad NuCom was complete shit, because it was "good enough". I see now what they mean. XCOM2 is utter crap and WotC makes it even worse.

Firaxis needs to die so somebody else can take care of Civ and XCOM.

Post webums of the chuck norris of the imperium.

...

The RNG meme comes from people who just line their squad up in low cover and spam "fire" at full-covered enemies over and over again, right? The game is honestly far too generous to the player in every respect.
I recommend installing Dragonpunks' Second Wave mod and activating "Flanking Always Crits - Enemies Only" so enemies will crit the shit out of you if you play sloppily. Also activate "Red Fog - XCOM Only" so that taking damage makes your soldiers stats plummet until healed.
It's a really fun way to learn how to play conservatively and effectively. Once you get the hang of it, switch them both to "All Units" so you can enjoy the benefits as well as the punishments.

Been playing the vanilla lot, and no, it doesn't run better.
'Least not significantly.
Supposedly, people say if you buy the DLC it'll run decent. Sounds horrible, though. That shit's expensive, too.

don't have any nor can I be assed to convert any video I may record to webm

They fixed some bugs and put the patch in the new mega-priced DLC instead of patching the base game because fuck you, give us money!

It wouldn't be so bad if there werent bugs that have been around since the last X-com game.

Still makes me laugh that pressing capslock instantly finishes the loading screen.

In all difficulty setting, except in legendary, the game actually cheats in the player's favor if they miss too many shots in a row
People bitching about RNG are dumbasses who dash into the fog of war and only move their soldiers behind cover, even when they can just rush an alien to finish it

No, people who complaing about RNG are people who stand next to a xeno, have a 95% chance to hit with the barrel of their gun pressed against the enemies head, and miss.

People who defend RNG are fanboys.

You don't actually have the barrel of a gun pressed to their head, user. It's a turn-based game. All of the action is happening at full-speed in real time, but it's slowed down into discrete chunks for the sake of the genre's mechanics. When you miss a 95% shot, that means that motherfucker pulled a dodge-and-weave on your ass. Bad luck.

Also, you should be aware that a 95% chance to hit is the same as a 5% chance to miss. The number 5, being a positive non-zero number, is greater than 1.
Now you know.

This is more of a problem of not allowing full 100% chances, honestly.
Fact is, an elite operator is going to have more than a 95% chance to hit at that range.

There are full 100% chances in the game. Nerve-rattled rookies even when flanking at point-blank will generally have at most an 85% chance to hit, but most seasoned units will regularly see 100% chance shots when flanking.
The most important things to look at are weapon range bonus/penalty tables, enemy defense value, and character aim value. There's lots of things that can affect the latter two, and the first one just has to be kept in mind.

Go on a sale you fucking piece of shit!

Are you sure? I swear I've never seen a single 100% chance.

Absolutely sure. They're honestly pretty common if you're stacking your bonuses: optimal weapon range, height advantage, flanking, holotarget and other special abilities and so on.
You won't be able to get 100% shots with everybody every single turn of course, but when you need those perfect shots you can line them up without too much trouble.

Strange. Is it a new addition or something? I've beat the game when it first came out, and I swear there was no 100% chances, or anything higher than a 95%.

It's possible that vanilla capped at 95%, but I don't remember. You could be right about that.
I'm on my 5th wotc campaign right now, so those are the numbers that are swirling around in my head at the moment.

you can run and gun up to an enemy, stand less than a foot away and miss completely

I reiterate: only fanboys defend the RNG.

Sweet Jesus what the fuck is wrong with you

Ah, I see. From what I'm hearing, WotC fixes a lot of major problems. I guess I'll end up having to pick it up when it's on sale.

Personally, I don't mind 95% chance to hit, in most cases. I'd prefer a full 100% in good situations, but by large, for a tactics game, 95% is acceptable. My problem is, at least in vanilla due to all the glitches and certain enemy behaviors, most the time it's not about tactics and positioning, it's about luck.
Especially with all the goddamn melee troops. I swear, they were built to cover the horrible AI.

I'm having fun. It might be terminal.
Doing Legend right now with MOCX (basically persistent EXALT enemies that level up alongside your squad), improved AI for enemies and chosen, removed caps for chosen weapons so they can basically one-shot any soldier of any rank any time, increased pod sizes, Not Created Equally active for both XCOM and enemies as well as Red Fog and Flanking Always Crits, and permanent dark events so they just keep building up into a snowball of doom over the course of the campaign - currently have 6 active at mag-tier.
Feels pretty great, honestly. I'm just waiting for a few more mods to drop - the rebuild of Guerilla War, and Additional Dark Events specifically.

You're wrong, all XCOMs have %100 chances, but in XCOM 2 also there's graze chance IIRC which is always something like %10 or %5. You might be thinking of that as miss

No, the grazes are a flat "this enemy can dodge the first hit" effect, from what I understand. At least in vanilla XCOM 2.
I genuinely do not have a single memory of a 100% chance to hit, though. Certainly not in EU.

Was it locked behind some extreme circumstances or something?

Grazes are based on dodge chance, but there's no limit to how many consecutive times a unit can dodge and turn hits into grazes.
If you roll a successful hit, you then roll again against their graze percentage.

In LW2 they also added a "graze band" to ALL attacks, which meant that if you rolled within 10% above or below your optimal hit roll, your attack would graze.
So basically, if you need exactly a roll of 78 to hit the enemy, and you roll a 74-77 or a 79-82 then you graze. Any more above is still a hit, any more below is still a miss, and right on the dot is a hit as well.

Am I the only one that hates the vanilla gun designs and armor design?

Not the only one, i really loathe how those guns are cartoony oversizes shits

Nope. Install this and enjoy. Make sure you also install the two required mods listed.
steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1132835147

It adds a bunch of real guns, and sort of souped-up mag/plasma versions of them that still pretty much feel and look like their conventional real-world counterparts. There are also a couple of fictional guns they made in there that are slightly more sci-fi themed but still fit the pack and are pretty nice.

So is there a way to rip these mods off the DRM cancer that is Steam Workshop? I'm enjoying War of the (((Chosen))) but I'm not paying fucking 120$ for this shit.

nexus and

I used to have a mega.co account that was just nucom 2 mods and even broke it down from base game and LW2 mods

I never got the 'muh rng' meme. Especially if you consider how fucking overpowered explosives in this game are.

I can hardly imagine that you´ve beat the game with only 13 hours of playtime and while never seeing a 100% hit chance. Especially in mid to lategame you should get a lot of 100% chances when the enemy is in half cover and sometimes even in full cover.

This is babby shit when you consider other stuff in the game. At its core, NuCom is about avoiding the RNG as much as possible which, in the first game, meant overwatch crawling. They took away that options with timers. Yet even now you need to desperately avoid triggering multiple pods because by the mid game the aliens have more abilities, men and thus actions per turn than you ever will. In a squad of 6, losing a guy means having your overall power reduced so significantly that you may as well give up right then. UFO never had that problem because you had tons of dudes who were, for the most part, all equally capable. Lose your only guy with Revival Protocol when facing a Chosen? Your mission is fucked.

To say nothing of the absolutely despicable patching and DLC practices of Firaxis. Hotfixes? Free features? Forget it.

nah i dont think there is any problem with difficulty, you can always use reaper to scout whole map and discover all the pods

I have problem with more fundamental design decision as i stated before here

Those are fundamental issues with how the engine is built. Those can never be fixed, or the LW autists would have done so. Firaxis always goes for this quasi-boardgame design that ends up hurting the game more than it streamlines it. Civ 5 and 6 had the same problem.

Not really as the mods make the game crash unless you use Steam.

>active dark events: Return Fire (advent forces counter-attack whenever you miss a shot), Undying Loyalty (advent forces rise from the dead as zombies when killed), High Alert (squad is not concealed at mission start), Gone to Ground (black market is closed forever), Rural Checkpoints (monthly supplies halved forever)
Holy fuck that was insane.

bullshit, before wotc i had shitload of pirated mods and pirated XCOM2 and all worked like a charm

I do not see how such a feat would be possible. Not calling you a liar but 5 pods and no death without at least flashbang spam - No.

They weren't all at once. One came in per turn, and I managed to (mostly) eliminate each pod before the next one ran in. A few missed shots, a self-stasising priest, and the chosen assassin allowed it to snowball very slightly, but it was still manageable.
The clincher, I think, was one of the middle pods that had a purifier and a sectoid - the sectoid whiffed his mindspin and the purifier's AI flipped out and he took a double move instead of lighting bitches on fire.
It honestly could have gone either way at any point. If the officer had marked and taken a shot rather than double-moving to high ground full cover that I could nade him back down from - I might have wiped. If the assassin had targeted one of my gunners rather than my snipers - I might have wiped. If the purifier had done fuckall or the sectoid had mind controlled someone - I might have wiped.
It's also worth noting that most - but not all - of their shots missed my squad entirely due to careful cover-taking, hunkering and suppression.

The chosen assassin constantly harassing my squad was the worst of it by far, and then that shieldbearer at the evac ambush that had ninja AI and kept dashing through the building and changing levels and hitting almost all of his shots.
That ambush was particularly dangerous because all of my grenades were spent, and I'd unwisely separated my squad thinking that the final pod was still off to the right somewhere where I'd detected them a couple of turns before. Those motherfuckers beelined it directly for my evac point and caught me with my pants down.

Oh man if I'd had two flashbangs, I think I could have done it with only one wound. The first hit from the chosen would have been a given, but if I had the luxury to just overwatch my entire squad vs her Impatient weakness I might have been able to maintain full control.

These fucking dark events.
Replace "for a X amount of time" to "forever and ever" and this is what I've got to look forward to.

I think I absolutely have to stop the signal jamming if I can. If I'm lucky I can cancel that with a Counter Intelligence op since Kon'll initiated it. After that…fuck.
The explosives don't really matter, since I have some psi-ops who can explode them in their pockets, but the other two will be a kick in the dick.
If they both activate, I don't know if I'll even make it to T3.

And I like the propaganda booth.

What's really funny is that the board game that nu-com took all it's design from was D&D. There are even a similar number of feats in both games for fully leveled characters.

Xcom EU felt like it tired to be a little realistic with number percentages and approach, it at least felt like it tired.
Xcom 2 feels completely off the wall with RNG it's practically Hearthstone-com with the same intent of allowing any retard to blindly coast through with enough random bullshit like 5% executioner rolls. It feels like a god-forsaken night at the Casino and every once in a while the slots shit themselves and catch fire.

Is anyone still playing Xcom EU? I was before I had to stop because Long War was my only game for years and it was consuming all my vidyea time and my entire life.

Yeah I do, I tried Long War, it had some good ideas but overall was awful.

I can't go back to normal EU after Long War, I just can't go back from the deeper skill trees for the new classes and especially the different mechs, but that's about it that makes me stay.
Someone with severe autism must have pushed the absolutely non-negotiable length of time it takes to make progress in that game, let alone finish the bastard. I can't stand doing another fucking 100 UFO crash sites in these god-forsaken forests.

I'm convinced the A.I. knew I was packing rookies consistently on crashed Scouts and would purposefully fucking fill it with their strongest units.

All in all, fun and intense escape mission.

Underrated post.

There is a mod that tunrs the Chance oft Lost attacking Xcom/Ayys to 50/50 instead oft 70/30 in vanilla. Therr is also a mod that makes pod movement truly random, instead of them trying to block your path to the objective. So yea, the RNG is NOT in the players favor in vanilla.

man war of the chosen literally dumps a lot of shit on you right at the start.
guess commander no ironman will do already lost 4 people

remove all the niggers from your team

leave one token minority with a ridiculous name, hairstyle and color scheme

bump

Rapid Response and Show of Force are actually good for you. More xp for the team!

The only things what really angers me are the intel increase (Alien Cypher) and the Avatar Project breakthroughs… fuck those!

You deserve a domesticated snektits.

Alright, this edge-queen's collection of buffs is starting to get silly now. Also she somehow lost one of her weaknesses. I was going to wait until she threatened the Avenger to kill her, but I think I'm going to have to bump her up the priority list.

Well at least Avatar Project Breakthroughs aren't permanent with Permanent Dark Events on. They'd be an instant game over or something in that case - or maybe they'd trigger monthly? Not sure how that'd work.
Alien Cypher and Signal Jamming are permanent, though, despite it saying "six weeks" or whatever. That's a real kick in the dick if both of those come up in the same month.

Vanilla Xcom2 literally gives you artifical aim boosts, if one of your soldier misses and even prevents pods taking action if you have engaged too many of them at once. Only on legendary this is switched off. I can´t see how the rng is stacked against the player, especially if you´re considering that the aiming stats of your soldiers go through the roof in lategame while the aliens´accuracy always stay the same.

Description says "the nearest target"
fakken boolsheet.

Are they porn wothy?
Those buffs looks promising, but nothing what a proxy minefiled couldn't handle…
Wew, that's not even fun. Literally force you to rush through the story. Is that some autistic mode? Or Jake lost his pills?

nigger in WotC I had like five QoL mods and some tiddie soldiers, my load times were three minutes until my saves corrupted by August Year 1
How the fuck do you run all that?
hdd, 8gb ram, i5 should be okay, right?

...

...

It's extremely fun, and it doesn't force you to rush at all. It's a way for difficulty to keep increasing organically as a result of your choices. Even with all Dark Events active at the same time, you could beat the campaign. This way, the stakes just keep getting higher.
The worst part of XCOM is when you tech up and suddenly your soldiers are invincible and every alien becomes a joke. Without the threat of failure looming over your head, games like this aren't very enticing.
I've currently got 8 Dark Events active, and I finally had time to research Plasma Rifles (but no other plasma tech or power armor yet), and I'm starting to feel a squeeze. I took out the hunter, and both the assassin and warlock are about to max out so I'll have to take them both down back-to-back before the month is over - and I also have a UFO hunting my ass and a retaliation mission is about 1 week away.
My entire roster is going to be wounded and shaken by the end of it, and I might even have to bring some raw rookies to pad out the corners. It's fucking awesome.

You've gotta work hard for your victories for them to mean anything.

Yeah, my game maxes out around 4gb and the performance is fine. Cosmetics and voice packs increase the loading times a lot, though, so be ready for that if you install a bunch.
Vanilla WOTC cut loading times down so much they don't even really exist anymore, but with all of my mods I have to wait about 2 minutes when loading between tactical/strategic layers.
It's the price I pay to look edgy and ridiculous as fuck.

See, everyone says that WOTC no mods basically eliminated load times, but even when I tried vanilla ironmeme I still had to wait an average of about 45 seconds, roughly equivalent to my vanilla. People claim its common with pirated copies, which mine definitely isn't. Is there a config file, or some trick? I read the caps lock to skip function can crash your game if you abuse it too much. Dunno, my system has 7gb of ram usage total when playing, and I thought my cpu was ok.

I'm not aware of any trick or special setup or anything like that. That's just how it ran for me by default. I've never used the capslock trick, either, since I've heard the same thing about it causing instability.

You might try clearing your config foldier (documents/my games/xcom2wotc/xcomgame/config) just delete everything in that folder and also delete everything inside the Logs and CookedPCConsole folders.
Also deleting all of your old saves helps.
These aren't really tricks so much as things you do regularly when you're juggling a heavily modded build, but it should help you out somewhat if you've rarely/never cleaned them out before.

Will try, I subscribed/unsubscribed to a bunch of mods, so I probably have bloat in there

Just fucking die jesus christ. She's the Elders' spoiled bratty princess daughter for real.

I found her to be the hardest jew to beat, with teh warlock being the easiest with his ghostpam

The warlock is such shit. I'm waiting for a mod that at least gives him a random selection of xcom psi-operative abilities to spam at you.
Since he's a big deal, he should also have some attack that disables or destroys mindshields, so you can't be totally immune to his multi mind control spam.
Assassin is pretty good, though, yeah.
Hunter's basically just a typical /k/ shitposter.

According to the story, they're all teenagers of about 14 years old who were genetically tested on since they were ~6 years old so it makes sense that they're so edgy and ridiculous, but they could have been made a bit more dangerous.

I liked the hunter though, his banter was entertaining and i liked having to escape from his LoS.

Is there a mod that lets me manufacture lots of RAGE and Serpent Armor? I need it so we all look grisly cool.

He's pretty fun that way, yeah.

Yeah, there's a mod that's specifically for that.
I think it's called "unlimited alien armors" or something similar.

Oh, thanks. After a bit of searching, found out it's actually called "Repeatable Alien Hunter Armors" but since I don't care for the stats I think a less cheat way to get it is by using the "Uniforms Manager Mod". Now we finally get to look like we skinned people up and wore them as coats.

Glad you found something that works out. You'll miss the best aspect of those armors, though. When you encounter an alien of the species whose skin you're wearing as a suit, they have a chance to panic.
Seeing an archon or berserker run in and then piss themselves is pretty fun.

The game desperately needs a Shut Up Chosen mod. These fuckers talk too much. Almost as if some intern at Firaxis was really fucking proud of his first writing attempts.

Anything below Legendary doesnt matter IMO. The RNG is stacked against the player because as I mentioned earlier the go-to tactic is to avoid it as much as possible but that is really damn hard with the sheer amount of random bullshit the game throws at you.

okay now this is just bad game design
theres so much wrong about this
its both fast AND tanky, it has insane mobility AND instakill, it has powerful melee AND powerful ranged, it introduces a reduntant "mind control" mechanic that bypasses ALL of resistances of the existing one AND you cant reverse it
this is fucking straight long war tier game design, its like someone slipped his sci-fi OC donut steel mary sue into the game while nobody was looking
also
this is incredibly retarded

ya saw that last one happen today sectoid reanimates then mind controls.

I've never been so close to crying tears of rage before.

holy shit this is fucking infuriating
this is just fucking terrible across the board
whoever the fuck designed that level shoud be brought around back and shot
this is simple fucking math, if the RNG is stacked against you, then an infinite supply of fucking RNG equals unwinnable situation
Ive been savescumming the fight for FOUR HOURS now, every time I kill a berserker, the game immideately spawns a spectre, every time I kill the fucking spectre a codex spawns
its either
or

ur stupid.

Or maybe you're just shit because I nailed all of them my first try.
The Chosen strongholds are hard, sure, but you can get through them with the right setup.

There's some mods out there that allow you to expand your team from 6 to 10 or so. More soldiers means more chances to kill them.

I pirated it when it first came out.
No way I was going to spend 60 on it.

I may just be remembering incorrectly, though. I could've sworn there wasn't 100% chance to hits, but that might be a flawed memory. Game was buggy as fuck back then, anyway, so who knows.

how the fuck am I supposed to know the fucking setup before playing the mission nigger
my setup is one of each, a spark and a reaper
the right setup in this case would mean "cheesing the fuck out of it with all snipers" or some other ridiculous shit
a bossfight should not REQUIRE from you to cheese it to be able to beat it

Id rather a mod that removes the spectre from common mob pools
the spectre is just a legal loophole to negate willpower checks for mind control

Are you even gangster?

High Cover, Smoke, Teammate turn transfers, good gear, exploit weaknesses. I only had trouble on my very first mission and that's because I had no idea what to bring. After that I didn't attempt the second or third until I had great gear and I never wasted any good shit before the fight. Be careful before you get to the portal and be smart when you get in.

I don't particularly like the missions either, I'd have preferred alien rulers 2: Revenge of the Jews. I think it's pretty gay to make you walk through the danger zone and waste your time, health and gear, in order to make you fight an incapacitating boss, his high-healthed spawner and his all-the-time-respawning friends. Just remember the basics of alien fighting and you'll be alright in the future. Focus on the monolith after you're allowed to shoot it, disable the boss and try to either instantly kill additional enemies or ignore them altogether until the monolith is dead - because you don't need to kill them if the boss is killed permanently. If you follow the rules of safety AND savescum you should honestly have no problem at all.

High cover, high ground, try not to bunch up, smoke. This is how you stay safe.
Teammate turn transfers, good gear, exploit weaknesses and flank. This is how you make them dead.

Well this all boils down to me not having enough DPS for this shit either way.
I should propably unlock lasers and some actual armor first.

Yeah, lasers are a start, magnetics if you can get them are better.

First off, calm the fuck down. If you get mad, xcom wins. Second, what difficulty are you on? If you're on anything lower than commander you need to reevaluate how you play the game because I can't give advice beyond "play better" without specifics. If you're on commander or legendary, i'd recommend going down a level or two until you know the game better.

As far as chosen fights go, they're not that hard themselves. If you can't take them down in one turn on everything but legendary with mid to end game gear, you're probably doing it wrong. Use their weaknesses against them, don't cluster up vs the assassin and hunter, and dont forget anti mind control vs the warlock. As far as infinite reinforcements, if you can't deal with 1-2 a turn I have bad news about the final mission for you.
Well "That's XCOM baby!" if you can't deal with a game based around complete rng, don't play. If your numbers feel low for a mission, don't do the mission yet.

ok nigger you're just dumb. How the fuck did you get high enough people to do the stronghold reveal missions without getting even upgrading your weapons first? Stronghold missions are basically late mid to early endgame missions. Not that you can't do them earlier if you're good, but even still you should make sure to have at least mag weps

xPiratez

Im playing normal to test the waters seeing how the devs seem to have taken one too many inspirations from LW.
I did unlock magnetic and gauss weaponry, I just didnt bother unlocking armor yet. Seeing how with a couple of breakthroughs the HP pool essentially trippled that may have been part of the problem.
When I started up the game I expected vanilla tier bullshit, not LW tier bullshit.

Just finished a veteran ironman to test out the new stuff, should I disable the dlc integration for shen and rulers next game? Its really immersion breaking when you suddenly get dumped into rulers and given sparks without any of the story missions (which I missed out on first time around)

Also commander ironman time?

Is Long Dong 2 any good?

Shit, I might actually reinstall this.

Yeah, no shit. Avoiding and reducing the impact of actual rng is part of every rng based game. Have you tried getting gud?

pic related

Btw, you guys says nothing about the reworked resistance. I guess this mean bad things… the new characters are enough interesting? Please tell me the Stalker looking sniper isn't a nigger larping as a slav…

The reaper is a scouting unit that has a super small stealth detection range and skills that make enemies perma-visible and detonate environmental explosives in one shot, they can also do all that from stealth and only have a chance on losing cloak when shooting.
The skirmisher is a more mobile ranger with a wrist hook. A propa soldier unit basically.
The templar is a psionic melee unit that charges up its psi-powers by killing ayys.
Reapers are slavs, templars are germons and skirmishers are ayys.

Theyve got their own skill trees and pull from personal and global XP pool. Normal eggsgom soldiers also get to use the new XP system through a building and mix-n-match multiple skills.

Thanks user, but has them any "flavor" storywise? Renegade ayys sounds pretty cool.
I heard the templars were the very first psi users. Does this mean they are the hostages from Operation Progeny (Enemy Within)? Annette Durand maybe?

If you have autism and absolutely need to have missions going all the time.

They're pretty inconsistent about that. They say that the Templar leader is the first Psi soldier from the Xcom program but at the same time they say that Xcom never made it past laser guns.

did they mean to make it this broken? some combinations just make you super op, especially when running a fully decked reaper with double claymore and banish skill with a gun that has 3 extra ammo

You could get psionics fast if you rushed the alien base assault in order to capture the sectoid commander for the psionic research so it doesn't seem far-fetched

The answer is yes, you can even grind stats for some soldiers to turn themit into super soldiers.
Then there is the Bladestorm Templar, which is immune to melee troops, can parry once and has a 70% chance to reflect all other attacks.
My skirmisher with both a hair trigger and repeater could consistently execute people and had a pretty good chance to take 3 action, four if I was really lucky.
The reaper is the only troop to be able to get 100% crit chance since the ranger nerf. It's a shame that Banish can't crit but otherwise it's easy to put that crit rate to work.

Xcom deserves to lose.

I'm gud enough to win battles on legendary consistently but even then the strategic layer can duck you over.

Actually for shits and giggles, would anyone watch a series of streams where I run a bunch of video game characters and industry figures through LW2 and see who lives and who dies throughout the campaign?

Ye as long as you're not a faggot link?

I'll post one on the day I get it all set up. for now give me a list of people. I've already got a sizeable list of heros.

Here's a list of what I already have. I accidentally made marcus twice so I need to get rid of the faulty one. Also when I do get shit set up and settle on a date I don't intend to speak so people will have to make do with just the game

Do those pools come with any custom voices, or are those imported separately?

You don't need a "right setup" for the chosen strongholds, user. You just need to not suck. You can take whatever the fuck you want, I swear to god.
Some setups will make it easier or harder, but in almost all instances you can win every single mission in the game without a single injury with absolutely any team composition. The exception is when the assassin shows up, because if you can't find her and wipe her on the turn she appears, she'll usually be able to get a free hit on one of your dudes before you dog-pile her and kill her on the following turn.

You don't need to know shit. If you want to know, then build the shadow chamber before you run a stronghold. It'll tell you all of the various units you'll encounter and exactly how many there are.
Also, the talking heads tell you exactly how to beat the chosen and what you need to do, so there's really no excuse. Do what Bradford and Tygan tell you like a good little commander, mkay?

There's been one for a few days now, user. Thank fuck for it, honestly.

You sound like a half/vg/ regular.
Are you a half/vg/ regular?

Are you seriously just using ad hominem implications to avoid feeling embarrassed for being shit?
Own up to your mistakes and analyze them so you can figure out how to stop making them.

Here's fun fact: every bad thing that ever happens to you in your entire life is your own fault for one reason or another. There's always something you could have done to prevent it. Learn - don't blame.

Why do I have the feeling you're not the type to practice what you preach? Oh right youre posting on an imageboard.
I bet your next move will be to ask me if I learned my lesson.

I rely on custom cosmetic shit so a lot of the characters either have their own voice if a voice pack is provided or I try to improvise. I use AostH robotnik voice for the one you see in the pool, and since I can't find a voice that is just unintelligible gibberish I gave crash bandicoot Karl Pilkington's voice

I guess it's the fault of passengers who bought tickets to that plane that crashed, they should have known better - planes crash is fact
How dare that motorist file a class action lawsuit against a construction company who decided to save money on cement by filling a bridge with literal garbage?!
How did she not see that he was a bloodthirsty maniac? Who cares if he was a respectable member of the city council, surely there were signs pointing out his bloodlust!

If you leave your house, you take a risk that something out there will kill you.
If you stay in your house, you take a risk that a meteor will destroy it and kill you.
Everything you do in life is a calculate risk - do I stay in bed or do I get up? Both options could lead to your death.

Since every moment of your life is a choice in an endless sequence of impossibly complex choices, we all ultimately choose the path that leads to our demise. So yes, we are all at fault for everything bad that happens to us.
It doesn't mean we invite it, but it does mean that we have the responsibility of doing whatever we can to reduce those risks with reasonable means.
Honestly, you sound like those liberals who cry about victim blaming. Victims don't ask to be victims, but there's always something they could have done to prevent ending up that way - the difference is whether that 'something' is a reasonable step or not. Sometimes it is, sometimes it isn't.

In a fucking videogame, it always is. Learn and grow or fail. It's all down to you.

I do, at least in this instance. I'm a hypocrite in other ways for sure, since I'm human.
When I fuck up - and I frequently fuck up - I immediately admit that I fucked up and try to see what I could have done differently. The next time I'm in that situation, I try doing the revised strategy and see if it works - it doesn't always, so then I repeat the process.
This is difficult to apply to life in some instances, but it's the only reasonable way to approach video games.

(glorious)

What the fuck is wrong with you? You're confusing fault and consequences with concepts like fate and inevitability.

You only believe in fate and inevitability because you refuse to look beyond your nose, user.

Next he's probably going to say God exists or something equally as stupid.

Welcome to Holla Forums Holla Forumsideo games

They literally do.
A german strategist said that it's your fault for leaving yourself open to aggression

RNGesus willed it

...

Get working on it.

Gotta find a way to add the visor. As much as I like Blues, there is just some design aspects I need to get working first

so what the fuck is up with weapon progression?
I thought there would be lasers after magnetic weaponry but the game went straight to plasma

Should I start playing commander now? Played veteran ironman and wanna starts a commander ironman.
Also disable the integrated dlcs and have them story mode? I hate the shitty lazy integration they have but not sure how it effects the new expansion

Magnetic is supposedly superior to laser, so if anything, laser should be a tech between solid proyectiles and magnetics, something like laser in the original X-com where you should always rush it.

I was expecting there to be more weapon tiers tbh famalam seeing how they lifted fucktons of features straight from LW
