Is unreal 4 a better game engine than Unity?

Is unreal 4 a better game engine than Unity?

Both engines have their uses.

Define "better" you vague faggot.

UE4 has a few games I like but Unity doesn't so yes

...

...

I want off this ride. I want to be a normalfag. I want to look at stuff like this and think "WOW!! This looks so good!!! Anyone knows name of the game??"

...

It's technically capable of more, but it generally requires a larger team with more experience than Unity does.

Oh please. Stylized graphics with good art design age better.

People are using the tech wrong. Developers can choose to make photorealistic graphics, but when it comes to a stylistic approach, people don't take advantage of it.

Here's your answer OP,
Although I must say that Unity has lot more newb friendliness going for it with documentation and free things on their asset store(like shaders other than the shitty default shader). While this results in a lot of shovelware, it's also important as it allows people to actually evolve as developers. Unreal definitely seems like it's more of a veteran-grade engine meant for people with 5+ years experience and 2-3 games under their belt already.

You shouldn't post Xturd and "good" together.
Fuck.

Like 'Games with Denuvo Anti-Tamper', 'List of Unreal Engine 4 Games' is a perfect list of shit that will never appear on your backlog'.

At least Unity has a handful of decent games made on it.

I dont know why are you complaining tho. "stylized" graphics require less effort to make, so naturally we will be seeing a lot of those turds.

Unity is most likely still easier to use if you just want to make a game on a 2D plane but for everything else, yes definitely.

I've yet to see a developer make Unreal Engine 4 run like anything other than hot garbage. It can make pretty graphics, but I honestly don't think you should use it outside of actual shootan. If anyone actually knows of some Unreal Engine 4 games that run smoothly, let me know.

Unity uses ancient code, and is only used by people who don't know how to make games. I don't think there's a single Unity game that doesn't suffer from crippling performance and memory leak issues. Unreal 4 is heads and shoulders better than it and once you get going is far quicker to make progress in as well as allowing you to put in more advanced features that won't bottleneck the game.
The real comparison is between Unreal 4 and Cryengine 3 which basically boils down to Unreal engine going "Anything you can do I can do better, anything I can do I can do better than you!"

...

Also wanted to add that you would better off comparing Unreal 3 and Unity engines cause really the Unreal 4 is not a toaster friendly engine and was never designed to be.

...

burden of proof isn't on me
this dumb fucking meme keeps getting parrotted by low info retards

Four Goddess Online runs on UE4, and it runs at a silky smooth 60 fps at all times on console. The catch: the graphics are PS2 tier with the exception of lighting effects used during special attacks.

You can fix UE4 performance for toasters by running the game in shader model 4, it seems like a lot of people are finding that the current shader models are what's exploding fps.

It's tougher because you need a good knowledge of realism to stylize effectively.

You are right, it's on both.

Photorealism is irrelevant if shit doesn't interact realistically. Making a decent physics engine is the next hurdle,

That's the exact mindset that most shitty millenial indie devs have. What they and you don't seem to realise (or care) is that to achieve stylisation done well is a serious creative challenge, an "art" so to speak. Photorealism is mostly a technical challenge, a "science".

To muddy the waters, stylised graphics in vidya usually present a creative and technical hurdle. Compare a dev making an ADV game for PC-98 back in the day. First, they would have to develop the aesthetic, then they would have to work within the constraints of the technology to convey it in vidya form. For example dithering was used to overcome palette limitations, some devs developed their own in-house dithering tools and algorithms to convert their art. A current year dev would just go "Muh retro pixels" and not put any thought to proportions, colour palette or any other aspect of visual design.

WRONG
It takes less work to make Injustice 2 looking shit than Tekken 7 looking shit and the latter has lower poly count. If you knew jack-shit about moddeling you would know that.
You want realistic models, you can start shitting out characters with DAS3D and some hand tweaking.
Just shut the fuck up, retard.

vs

yeah because making realistic proportions, while avoiding uncanny valley, giving them high res skin textures instead of painting them single color like in a cartoon takes much less effort guise! xD I swear I know what Im talking about I made a shitty attempt at it in blender!
Do you want to make some strong dude but cant be arsed to do actual research? Just give him dispropotionally big arms and shoulders and call it a day! phew so much work!
I swear to god, Holla Forums is getting dumber by the minute. You are basically saying that picture a) requires less effort to make than picture b). Your artsy farts which look like pixar rejects look like shit. Deal with it.

it takes less effort you already know how to draw realistically, think about it
you have to trick yourself into drawing shittier

...

Yes, because sculpting marble is the same as 3D moddeling.
Also, nice hyperbole, stylized isn't cartoon-like 100 triangles shit. MGSV is stylized and that took far more skill and way less polygons than Injustice 2.
You're fucking brain dead, move on, talk about something you know about.

Babbies first day at AGDG?

HGHHHHHGHHGHHHHHHGGGGGGG
THICC

Wait a minute…

Wait a minute…
forgot to crop

...

AYY, MI PITO!!!

Is a phillips head screwdriver better than a cross-head screw driver?

philip's is objectively better because if it is the right size it can fit both screw types

youre the dumbest idiot I met on Holla Forums so far, I bet you hear that a lot since you project it onto other people

If you like cracked threads and weakened screws, sure.

Is a hammer a better tool than a screwdriver?

...

Unreal 4 actually fixes a lot of the complaints I had with Unreal 3. It still has issues like not being able to handle too much AI at once, but there are other engines that a better suited to that kind of thing.

Unity makes porting to mobile devices easy, so there's that I guess.

Dragon's Dogma 2 running on Panta Rhei never ever

...

That's like 1300 bucks, how little do you want to spend? Making games have never been as inexpensive and accessible as it is now, you don't even need to convince a publisher before commercializing your shit across the globe and basic marketing is as hard as getting some retards to play your game in youtube.

You probably think Zbrush is stealing too since you're using tools other people made for you. How fucking clueless can you be?
Also, the pic you posted shows that's not photorealism, it is just good lighting and PBR textures, that's why the model looks like shit on SFM porn in spite of being just a rip ported to a different engine.
You can get full realism with 3D scanning too.

Torx screws while being Okay for fastening plastics together often lack the structural integrity for general purpose screwing and are prone to weakening the core on repeated rescrewing.
Not to mention the proprietary shape makes it less convenient for the end user.

thats one puffy vulva

I thought we were just shitposting, of course different screw heads are used for different proposes.

That's a puffy kitty

Nigga, that's a ballsack

That's her pelvic bone.

Here's the continuation.

nah

You sound like an absolute retard. Well done, your bait worked, it would be pathetic if you were serious.

...

...

...

Make them photorealistic then make them prettier and hotter and hotter until they break our minds and dicks, might as well it's not like 3d women are worth the effort atm.

Yes because if push comes to shove you can still hammer in a screw.

Just realising Johnny Bravo would never have been able to stand under his own power.

What is WRONG with this generation?? All the tools to make magnificent works of art are RIGHT THERE. Why is everyone not perfect?!?!??

mind blown
