I remember a story about some mod contest where the community was pretty motivated to make something great, everyone sharing ideas and planning what they could achieve together, and then it was announced the winning prize was going to be $1000 or thereabout. Immediately, all cooperation ceased and everyone jealously guarder his own stuff as relations soured and drama escalated.

Good luck getting script extenders and animation frameworks (two vital components for any kind of serious modding) in such an environment. Hell, good luck getting anyone to give a shit for long enough to bother making anything ambitious as they watch talentless hacks rake in thousands from shitty, reskinned armors and weapons. Why should they waste time scripting quests and hunting for VA talent when they can just cobble together a bunch of cool looking armors and weapons and sell those?

It's already being talked about online, there's only like 4000 references allowed in the mod for creation club shit. Most quest mods and anything more advanced or substantial takes significantly more. For example, Automatron has 50 000 references. Like just setting a conversation topic with a person tangentially related to a quest you add is a reference all of itself. The creation club is like a hat shot like tf2, but just little mods you can buy. MOst of which, from what i've heard, are shittier than their free counterparts. Like the chinese stealth suit has less customization options than the free one that was created. And there is a pip-boy recolor going for 50 cents.

If you had been actually paying attention you would know I already have a 360 and OG, The issue is that the Australian version of the OG Xbox doesn't allow, nor have the pins for HD outputs on the connector cable.

I ordered a HD cable from the US (With the RGB RCA "Component" that is) and it simply doesn't work because the port on the Australian versions is missing the pins that connect to the Red/Blue RCAs, so video is only output on the Green RCA as a standard single cable RCA video (Yellow).

Because when you monetize something, you lose the passionate hobbyist community, and is instead replaced by cynical creators that care more about making a buck than the game. The selection of mods will be flooded with crap, and the quality will lower overall.

Also, mods aren't worth a dime. If a complete game that took half a decade to make from scratch and hundreds of millions of dollars to make can be distilled down to a $60 finished product, then a horse armor mod that was lazily made in an afternoon isnt worth one fraction of one cent, let alone a couple bucks. Paying for mods at all in any capacity is extreme overvaluation of the product and one of the most Jewish practices imaginable.

All the .bsa files (which contain the meshes textures, sounds etc.) are downloaded with the patch. You're paying for the .esp file so you can use the shit in game. Although this could possibly change.
