Nasuverse

Since the other (((fate)) thread got derailed and is on the way out maybe instead we can talk about the Extella sequel that just got announced?

I'd fix the echo for you OP, but I think it's best if we didn't edit posts for something trivial.

So basically all the knights in the Matter of Charlemagne are going to be twinks?

At least it made sense for Astolfo since he canonically had to crossdress for Roland during the stripping incident

At this point you guys kinda deserve it for not reporting it. Mark will probably try to salvage the thread, but the damage is already done.

Charlie kind of looks like a Kingdom Hearts OC.

It is kind of amusing how well Astolfo fits as the super slutty genki trap of the season.

What's this series even about? What does it play like?

It's a Fate Musou made by Marvelous.

What was the first game?

...

Hopefully it doesn't wind up like CCC and never get translated.

Extella games aren't pseudo-visual novels with a shit ton of text which was CCC main translation problem.

Technically it has gameplay but rock paper scissors for eternity is nothing special

come on.

Hooooly fuck. And Hassan is supposed to be a low-tier stargen.

Just wait until Jack the Ripper meme dreams.

Definitely worth it and now I really want Jack. Isn't Okita really good as well?

And the complete rubbish Memoria of Lunar Mare(Extra uniform) actually works with this composition. EMIYA is a heavy as fuck Arts hitter anyhow and with the instant boost to crits I can get to that sweet, sweet 50. But, should I use Imaginary Around(25% Quick Effectiveness) or Be Elegant(25% Stargen)?

It's incredibly hard to find a straight forward answer on what the difference is between quick card effectiveness up vs crit star drop rate up but from what I understand, quick card effectiveness makes the damage, the NP gauge increase and crit star rate all increase for your quick cards, while crit star drop rate up increases the drop rate of all your cards. Most people at this time seem to agree that the boost for the quick cards is the same whether you choose on or the other as far as crit star rate. So the question becomes, do you want your Quick cards to do more damage, drop more stars and increase the NP gauge more? Or do you want all of your cards to have an increased crit star drop rate? I also believe that if the servant has a quick card NP the NP damage gets improved as well as the crit star gen.

I settled on crit gen, because I won't always get a Quick card and his damage isn't anything to write home about. More consistent stars, this way.

Reminder that Caster is best servant.

With that cliffhanger I assumed they it left to bait a seqeul that I was hoping wouldn't come. Thanks Marvelous. I was hoping there wouldn't be another one that completely cucks even more of Extra's universe.

I knew there was going to be one due to the ending and the fact they probably want to cash in on Last Retcon's air date

...

That doesn't sound that bad, unless I'm missing something.

...

...

Nah, I'll just head to Japan for the other part of Nasuverse. Though getting a Sakura without worms is better than most of the Fate girls, I guess.

gilgamesh is not wearing is armor and his hair is up. his hair is supposed to be down when not in armor. this is bad civilization

Decided to try and use one summoning ticket on the banner. Got myself a Tamamo Cat, not sure what to think of this yet. I mean, this is my third gold Berserker. And I just realized I have no pictures of Tamamo Cat, despite having hundreds of Tamamo Caster.

I just want CCC because I wanna read the scene where Karna and Hans roast EMIYA and then I want to know what that James Bond-bullshit is all about.

This is what I fear. I really loved a lot of what Extra set up and not with fucking Extella and Last Encore completely cucking everything that game set up is a fucking travesty.

Although I didn't play that much GO when I rolled my first few servants I got Cat Tamamo as my first.
Still not enough reason for me to suffer through the 5FPS whenever I am playing though.

>She has not revealed this to anyone, but her true identity is that of Artoria Pendragon.

Oh how I had hoped that April fool's day thing was a sign of some change from TM.

Do you want me to post the Mysterious Heroine Z story for her being the Anti-Anti-Saber?

>>>/out/
>>>/imouto/70065

This is the worst F/GO thread I've ever seen.

Yeah, why did you even suggest that thread to people actually talking about the video game?

...

Who's the best edgelord, and why is it Angry Man Jew?

Because Angry Man Jew realizes that he has no actual redeeming qualities such as strength, usefulness, or looks and instead and is pure edge and makes fun of the fact the only part of his character is edginess.

Is it by any chance the hedgehog?

Fou?
if your question is "Is Fou Mysterious Herione X" the answer is no.

Because it sounds like "[insert name] the hedgehog" bio file.

Fou is Merlin's familiar with which he spies on Chaldea while he chills in his tower in the middle of nowher

Mysterios heroine X was Type-Moon April fools joke for 2013 where they made fun of themselves for all the saber clones they make by making an "Anti-Saber" weapon. It sounds like a joke because it is a joke.

k thx bye

It's okay not everybody has the reading comprehension to see
in the original, it's okay to be retarded.

I enjoyed Extella but there were many things that could be done about the gameplay.

Somehow Senran Kagura has much better gameplay. Anyway I wonder what they'll fix or change in the next game.

I died a little inside when I found out that Jeanne's NP killed her upon use. Feels like the character was intentionally designed to be terrible.

treating fgofags like niggers in their own thread doesn't seem conducive to any good outcome.

If you want a healthy nasuverse thread you need to be inclusive to fgofags otherwise the thread is going to be a divisive mess.

I don't really think a X-warriors game would be that in-depth in the game mechanics. Regardless though I wish it was as it would've made things much better.

Saber covers nearly the same amount of space with her attacks as Jeanne's yet she's using a pole. Yet she swing so slow that the amount of damage she'll put out is terrible. Then there are characters like characters like Altera who is pretty bad until she gets her homing rainbow death cubes that's so damn OP it puts every move to shame. Saber, however, gets that shortcut to her AOE big slash attack that just removes anything in front of you.

I just finished Heaven's Feel in Fate/Stay Night. It felt a lot longer than the other two routes.
I'm very torn as to the decision of which route was my favorite. I like Rin's route because you get to be with best girl, Emiya becomes the superhero he always longed to be, and Saber tags along for the ride. But I am assuming you don't get to save Sakura in this route, so she probably remains in Zouken's captivity. I hate Sakura's route since I generally don't like used goods, but also because Emiya turns into a real selfish asshole.

Forgot to mention. Barely at any moment do you fight other servants along side other servants. Some 2v2 moments would have been really cool. That moment where Saber and Caster team up against Altera was pretty cool but she's wasn't any different from the last time I kicked her ass so my new partner seemed wasted on the moment.

Really wish we could get a different control scheme with some effort put into it. Sengoku Basara has simple controls yet you can access all those moves in your moveset at any time. Even the more absurd massive AOE attacks don't require you to do 7 attacks before using them. Senran Kagura (almost) gets away with this because your characters are absurdly fast and mashing weak attack gives you access to a long multi hit attack for big damage on stunned enemies.

So what you're saying is that Jeanne is an inferior Saber clone :^)

I don't get what you're saying, you talk about not liking the fact you can't save Sakura and then immediately turn around and call her shit. Also
Did you not get the true ending of UBW? Saber only tags along for the good end, not the true one.

It's not too hard to grasp. Sakura may be the worst girl of the VN, but she certainly doesn't/didn't deserve the abuse.
I got both the true and good endings, but that doesn't matter. I'm talking about which ending is my favorite, not which one is canon.

Astolpho sometimes let drop that the other Peers were… deviant. Roland apparently likes bondage, for example.

"I wish I was a god of pottery" is probably one of his better scenes

I think that the only Musou game that has you command where your armies go is the Kingdoms Under Fire games on the original Xbox, and the MMO that they are making.

I KNEW HE REMINDED ME OF SOMETHING

NASU GET THIS OUT OF THE FATE
It's pure fujoshi bait, though. We all know it.

By the way, anyone else think the graphical style is high res but really lame? I mean, the whole thing looks like someone ripped the models from another game and tried making MMD or sfm porn. It's that kind of thing.

If you squint a little and just take the references to "sub-servant" as timeline screwery on Archimedes's part then it's not half bad. That's the only reason I tolerate it, though. The retcons are horrendous but I do like the idea of hopping between routes/worldlines to chase after a villain tainted by an elder god. That was fun.

I got a chuckle out of that ending but I better get Altera back because she's one of the few brown characters I genuinely like YOU HEAR ME NASU DON'T TURN THE WAIFU IN THE DAUGHTER YOU CREEPY OLD

What is this game/franchise and where do I start?

Was just going to ask this question. Also, this series seems huge, I always see it brought up everywhere, yet the Visual Novel it came from never got an official translation AFAIK and that seems very strange to me. If they threw it up on Steam it would print money. Stuff like Umineko and Higurashi got official translations and a ton of stuff that is way smaller/obscure, so why not Fate?

You start online watching a playthrough of Extra (since it has next to nothing to do with Fate/Stay Night). Then you get upset that CCC was never released only to then be okay with it once you realize how trash it is.

Then you play Fate/Extella and get angry that Nasu took his asinine MOBA game and rewrote absolutely everything about the world he had wonkily managed to create. Then you pretend that it's a decent sequel and enjoy it for the story it is - mostly, since the writing gets real Nasu at one point during the Body route/worldline.

Don't spoil yourself. Get Extella. Watch Extra, since the game is miles better in terms of writing but infinitely worse in terms of gameplay. Seriously, only anons who never played Extra think Extella's Musou style is bad in comparison.

...

I get the feeling Angry Man Jew was one of those characters that's so edgy he becomes good in the long run. The fact that he keeps making fun of himself for being the weakest servant is a neat, as were his bantz with Bazett. It gets great in the end when he describes how he finds genuine beauty in humanity despite how disgusting they are to him.

I never thought I'd shed some tears for this sick fuck who constantly considers killing and raping his Master just 'cause it would be fun.

Listen to this user. Don't bother playing it. It's not worth playing rock/paper/scissors for hours on end.

Me too. I know that autism, user
And I replayed it at least twice with each servant

Damn you niggers don't even try to hide it.

Is it recommended to play Extra before Extella? I like musous, but I don't know anything about Fate other than stay night and Zero.

I'm playing through Extra and I'm at the point where you decide a route, I'm kinda getting tired of the RPS fighting, but I can power through it.
So,which would you recommend or what has the better story? Rin or Rani?

Also this, I started Extra because I was planning on starting Extella after Extra.

I like Rani better. I've seen Rin like 5 times already anyway. Yes, I know it's a different person, but they look and act the same during the game

Rin is, and always will be best girl.

I think I'll go Rin, her having my dude Cu is a pretty huge deal, I'll look up Rani's route when I'm done

...

I thought that was one of those dank "READ THE FILENAME" pictures.

Tbh honest the amount of plot connecting Fate/Extra to Fate/Extella is weak as hell. It basically boils down to the shocking discovery that the main character of Extra won the holy grail war. Shocking I know, other than that it just borrows the servants that showed up.

In UBW, Shinji and Gil went to the basement where Zouken usually hangs out. Gil stomps a worm while talking about culling people.Zouken is never seen in UBW.

Do the math.

I see a lot of talk about Extella being less suffering to play through than Extra, and that's totally bullshit.

In Extra you at least had to do some detective work and had some agency to fuck up and not get all the info on the enemy servant. In Extella you jump around on pads while your allied servants get their asses kicked. It's totally unfun.

The graphics suck except for Tamamo, that extra animation on her ears redeems her a lot

Modern musous all have the ability to send allied heroes to points on the map, as well as the ability to jump control between heroes. It's BS that Extella doesn't have this.

unf

He never appears in Saber's route either. I'm guessing he ran away and found some place safe.

It's heavily implied by how Shirou states that at first sparks were flying between her and Illya before they suddenly became really friendly that she did something about him

...

Rin. Always Rin.
Rin is actually a far more interesting and genuinely likable character in Extra. I'm gonna get flack for it I'm sure but her whole "tsundere" motif works a lot better when she's not some highschooler and has been actively fighting against the Rothschilds Harways.

That's what made Extra great, to be honest. It was both massive yet incredibly grounded in its plot. The protag wants to end the Holy Grail War, the cycle of death games and war, while the world itself has been undergoing a geopolitical quagmire caused by the Rothschild Harway family. In one sense it reminded me of Deus Ex with how applicable it was to real life, while in other it was just really good writing.

Blackmore and Leo's exchange, Shinji's final words, the story behind Assassin's master, Leo's final revelation, etc. all utterly trounce anything in CCC (except for Sakura) and Extella. These are moments which add to the whole and don't remotely feel like fan service or rehashed nonsense. Extra's story was great in this regard and the entire thing hung on Leo and the Harways as the true antagonist of the story.

Then Nasu had to go full Nasu and hack it up by introducing another villain at the last second for no reason - which he thought if he went back and randomly injected mentions of him we wouldn't notice he was a last second addition but obviously he was and it shows plain as day. That really ruined it to some extent, especially since Tamamo was involved with the guy previously, which would have given her something a lot deeper to her character to work with aside from "cute fox waifu with tragic past".
Retcons are Nasu's blood and bone. Even in F/SN you could see that where from one route to the next the entire rules of the world which he had spent so much time intricately detailing were utterly broken for shock moments. It was embarrassing. Still, Extra felt the most consistent until that last short stretch of the game.

Extella does good in fleshing out Tamomo more and continuing Nero's character development (she's changed from who she was in Extra because of the protagonist and its fun to see how she's changed). Altera is fantastic, too. That said, it's overall a net negative because we went from saving the world from the Rothschilds to a
PLANET/STAR ELDER GOD SPACESHIP THAT EATS "CIVILIZATIONS" AS DATA
Just saying that is the most cringe-worthy and stupid thing I've ever typed. Planets are not stars and neither are they spaceships. A thing cannot eat if it is not alive and if it's alive then it's not a spaceship. Martians were not Titans and vice versa. Elder Gods are not stars or planets and definitely not spaceships and they don't consume abstract concepts like "civilizations" by converting them into data. This is dumb. This was dumb, Nasu.

It's kind of meme to say that you got PTSD from something, but I legit felt a little depressed after clearing Fate/Extra the first time. You kill everyone you meet(almost) and then you die, having possibly done some good to the world despite your short existence. And a lot of the parting words your opponents have really reinforce that dystopic aspect of it. Shinji's was especially great, since hating on Wakame is so common.
I disagree, though not strongly enough to start arguing about it. And yeah, Twice came out of fucking nowhere, though I still enjoyed beating his ass. Archer gives a great speech about his bullshit, too. "You're just a spiteful wraith, trying to sacrifice the present to resurrect the past. You won't accept any ending aside from success? You immaturity and weakness makes me laugh."

That BDU looks like it belongs to Archer, given how huge it is on Hakuno, though the design is obviously different. I'm probably overthinking it. Still,
At least we finally got the butler outfit, except that you have to pay for it. Kerry's suit is nice, too.

Deen/Stay Night is okay for anime-only. UBW will feel incomplete without it more than it already is without HF.

The problem with Deen is that they fuck up every key scene, more or less. I went from legit hating Shirou to essentially husbando-ing the fucker after just reading half the Fate-route.

For music, general mood, basic introduction to setting and slice-of-life scenes, there's nothing wrong with Deen. But it's not the best introduction to the series.

You've read CCC or summaries of it?
If you're talking about Altera she doesn't eat them as data, she turns them into mana. Civilization is defined as anything that took inteligence to make, so, she can destroy and eat the data of the Mooncell and absorb it into her. The Umbral Star should have the same type of existence since all Altera is is a lesser version of it as "Velber 02"
It's called a Dark Planet because it's the size of a fucking planet, next you'll tell me the Mooncell isn't a moon because it's a giant computer.
The zerg would like to have a word with you.
If you're referring to the Greek ones she's never stated to be one, by Titan it means the normal definition which is "something huge/powerful beyond human measurement" hell Titan Altera has a class skill specifically making her 8 times larger than the beings that occupy the civilization she's destroying she can also be titanic in proportions.
Do you think Wizards have to have the same definitions across multiple works? Do all elves, orcs and halflings have to play by Tolkien rules?

Extra Shinji did nothing wrong
Stay Night Shinji repeatedly beats and rapes Sakura and I don't know how anyone can mental gymnastics out of that being a bad thing to.

Shut your whore mouth, Deen manages to fuck all routes at the same time and not even manage to do the easiest and weakest route correctly.

I don't really get the second webm, Gilgamesh alignment is chaotic good because while he's a complete ass about it on an individual one on one basis he believes "all humans are foolish, but the tools and civilizations they create are valuable." Humans aren't complete garbage and not everyone is a mongrel just for being human.
Also Gilgamesh is 2/3 god and 1/3 human not half and half, but that's kind of petty

It's a joke nigga. But I didn't write it or voice it, just stole it from jewtube.
>Also Gilgamesh is 2/3 god and 1/3 human not half and half, but that's kind of petty
Your Mesopotamian math is pretty weak, here, have a refresher.

If I hadn't watched Deen/SN way back when I'd have dropped UBW no doubt about it.

>Stay Night Shinji repeatedly beats and rapes Sakura and I don't know how anyone can mental gymnastics out of that being a bad thing to.
Oh and forgot to answer this; pretty sure it started with the Realta Nua release, which removed all h-scenes and references, thus most if not all of Shinji's transgressions were removed, thus Shinji wuz a good boy.

Okay so that's one for you and that still doesn't cover the dozens of people who lost all interest with the fate series upon seeing the abomination that was Deen.

It removed H-scenes which means he didn't rape her but he still beat her.
Really I want to love Shinji as much as anybody and wish there was a Bros before Hos route where Shinji overcomes his inferiority complex an turns into some semblance of good older brother.

Iirc he doesn't, but it's been a really long time. The joke is that Realta Nua was so drastically different that Shinji did nothing wrong. The manga has some cool scenes with Shinji and I think the friend EMIYA had might be him, too. But given that EMIYA came from something like Fate then it's kind of hard to believe.

I don't see a problem with a planet sized god that consumes civilizations like some natural cosmic reset button. It reminded me a lot of the Hellstar. Though that was a solar system eating monster from another dimension. But I do agree the martain titan thing was silly. Also Altera being able to speak so easily and communicate despite being isolated for thousands of years seems bizarre. It's not like she was asleep the whole time.

Yeah re-reading through the Realta Nua rewrites Shinji and Sakuras relationship of physical abuse and rape remained the same, they just never showed the scene where Shinji actively attempts to rape her, and just mention it kind of offhand as a thing that happened in the past before Stay Night rather than in the middle of it's events.
Even in the original Fate/Stay Night him and Shinji are friends and even bros. The only problem became when Shirou got really fucking good at Archery Shinji's inferiority complex flared up and he starts lashing out at Shirou because he doesn't like being worse then him. Shinji had introduced Shirou to the club to show how cool he was, and the Shirou being the empty husk he is becomes so good at the concept of Japanese Archery i.e be an empty husk he qualifies for the Archer class.

On this point it was canon that every route other than Heaven's Feel has Shirou having a chance of being Archer. Even UBW events do not prevent and in fact may encourage him turning into EMIYA. Only Heaven's Feel when he completely disregards his ideal does he have that. Then, it was rewritten for Realta Nua that in the end of the Fate Route, when Shirou finally dies, he goes and joins Saber in Avalon instead of becoming EMIYA. This means that now that Realta Nua has added these scenes the only route left that can produce EMIYA is the UBW. Which is kind of ironic since EMIYA's entire plan was to prevent this.

By the events of FSN, they've cooled of considerably. Shirou is still the same, but smacked Shinji for bruising Sakura. Shinji can't stand Shirou anymore, as far as I can tell.
It's more than that; it's that his meditation practice was already the same basic technique so Shirou essentially started the club as a level 90 kyudo zen master. People tend to overestimate the effects of his distorted way of thinking, when most of his skills and abilities stem just from him working really, really hard every day.

His mindset might make it easier for him, but his reaching of mushin is legit technique on his part.

Nah, Shirou can still turn CG after every route and there's nothing that prevents the Shirou in Avalon from being EMIYA as well. Aside from Nasu's off-hand comments, but fuck that guy, right?

A fun fact about zen kyudo; it's not a very old style. It was a fairly recent off-shoot of traditional, more practical kyudo by a radical buddhist. It spread to the west by a German guy who went to learn and had to use a translator who didn't speak German that well either, so it got kind of warbled. Until the book, "Zen in the Art of Archery" was published in Japan in Japanese as well, that offshoot style was considered very esoteric and weird by the mainstream kyudo practitioners.

The book and its counter part, "The Myth of Zen in the Art of Archery" are both good reads if you want to know more.

I don't know if it was because I played Caster or because the rock paper scissors combat system. She probably gets better after some level ups but dying to the first encounter after the tutorial made me delete the thing from my system.

It's Caster.
Especially since just as you get to see some of the enemy moves, in the beginning the enemies have often certain-hit options against you unless you use a skill to override their turn. But I know people who have played through the first time with Tamamo and beaten it. It is supposedly exceedingly satisfying once she gets going.

The only way in Heaven's Feel Shirou can become EMIYA is if he goes full Kiritsugu and resolves to kill Sakura along with every other Master in order to win the grail at the bad end in the church "Superhero". The entire point of Heaven's Feel was Shirou is forced to admit his ideal is worthless, abandon it completely for the sake of Sakura and never get the resolve to be EMIYA. As for Avalon yes it's a shitty retcon but Shirou doesn't go to the throne upon death he goes to Avalon, just like Arturia, which also means that Arturia also isn't a summonable servant anymore because a copy was never put in the throne of heroes.

Extra combat is so simple it's mind numbing except for boss fights where the most planning you need to do is when to activate skills to prevent you from dying to NPs. I'm actually quite impressed with your ability to fuck that badly.

Nope, Nasu specifically says there is a chance at the conclusion of every route for Shirou to still go CG, no matter how miniscule it is. Even HF.
And that's where "he must endlessly pursue" comes in. Who says Shirou just spent a lifetime, and not a couple of infinities pursuing Saber?

Actually let me clarify, what if EMIYA spent a couple of infinities chasing Saber, after becoming a CG? Suddenly, that whole schtick becomes way more impressive.

That doesn't even make any sense, if you get a copy of yourself in the throne, you are completely removed from time. You don't exist for eternity, you exist completely separate from normal except when summoned. You can't go to both Avalon and the Throne that isn't how it works. Putting that aside, it states quite plainly in the Avalon ending that Shirou dies and goes straight to Avalon, and that Saber has been waiting several centuries for him. i.e. the time between Arturia's actual life ending and the death of Shirou as a human. So not infinity and not millenias. If Shirou went to the Throne he couldn't be in Avalon ever.

That's the thing. It doesn't. Nowhere does it say that he died, or when he died. And the CG gig is not eternal, as shown by the fact that Alaya has no presence in the Land of Steel or by the fact that you can get elevated into being a regular elemental upon accruing sufficient fame.

If Gaia dies, Alaya goes with it. And how you get into Avalon is never specified or clarified upon, thus getting there when you die or when Gaia dies makes no difference, because there is no mechanic or rule that rules one or the other out.

With that kind of mindset I'm surprised you haven't become a schizophrenic by now

You'll note I'm ignoring Nasu a sentence later, in regards to his words about Archer. He's admitted in an interview to being a pathological liar, from the planet Liar and that he needs to lie once every day or he will die.

...

Ah, ah ah. I said,
Show me where it said he dies and then entered Avalon. Assuming it's EMIYA, of course he's died already at some point. But nowhere does it say that he dies just prior to entering Avalon. In fact, he seems positively surprised to be there as if he had expected to go on forever with his journey.

Your specific statement was
and
You are right on the second point and blatantly false on the first.

Which 'game' are these images from?

Fate/Stay Night Realta Nua

We could argue that I am moving goalposts(I am not, I just didn't realize it said later that he had died at some point, when I just remembered reading at the beginning that it specifically avoids stating that) or we could continue with the actual argument at hand. If I was saying EMIYA was in Avalon, how would that work when EMIYA has already died regardless of Avalon/CG hijinks, right? A slight error on my phrasing, not in my argument.

Nowhere does it say anything that specifically excludes EMIYA, moreover it has the exact same UBW for that Shirou, when no other reality marble until now has been quite that unique.

*was in Avalon without having died at all

… something like that.

Shirou can learn how to do UBW in 20 years without ever having met EMIYA. UBW being there means absolutely nothing.

And why does it have the cogs? It specifically has the cogs, when those have always been something unique to EMIYA. No other version has them.

Threadly reminder that Fate sucks and the real tragedy behind the nasuverse is that he'd rather focus on it instead of Tsukihime which was more internally consistent.

Also that Sacchin is the best girl, and the most loving.

Shiggy.

Never went through Tsukihime but from what I've seen that seems to be the case.
Also, did anyone figure out why the best ending was not the true ending?
Something about Arcuid not being able to be near Shiki so they can't be together being the true end, whereas in the good end she just waits it out and then can be with him.

the only good type-moon game is Melty Blood

You'll notice that the UBW you posted is a fusion of both EMIYA's and Shirou's UBW. Where Archers has gears, it is also choked by haze and smog from his ideals being clouded. Meanwhile Shirou's is based of his experience facing his ideals and is a brilliant sunset with clear skies. If we're going to be pedantically about what the Reality Marble looks like it looks like neithers.

Tsukihime wasn't very, how shall we say it… Reasonable with its routes. I mean,

Those are just clouds. Nowhere does it describe smog, smoke or anything of the like in the VN or in the other materials. But it does say
>"The “Innate Bound Field” wielded by Emiya. It is his ability as a Heroic Spirit with no Noble Phantasms. The inside of the reality marble is a world like a steel mill, filled with weapons, flames, and giant gears."
In his CM profile.

Compare the sky to here, other official releases. Or hell, compare to his FGO profiles where the background will clear up to show the sky more clearly. And still, the cogs remain.

Heck, compare the warm red of Shirou's UBW(first two) to Archer's darker beige(last three), like in the LE one.

...

You're still evading the fact the only thing that makes the two different is life experiences. i.e the only reason Archer's has gears is because his life experience caused it. Was the experience that caused that gears to appear before or after death, who knows, all we know is the only reason they are arbitrarily different is because EMIYA has experienced different things than Shirou. And an older Shirou that has more life experience would have a different one from current Shirou.

On top of all this, if that copy of Shirou was in anyway EMIYA. His marble would look EXACTLY like EMIYA's not similar to it. The fact that it isn't makes it even more unlikely that it's actually Archer's UBW. Unless you're telling me different version of Shirou that went through the exact same shit EMIYA did wouldn't all hate the fact they're EMIYA.

thanks for proving my point.

...

Let me show you a trick. UBW can change depending on the user! But, you'll note that EMIYA is still the only one with cogs at any point.
No smoke or haze, find me one literary description of anything like that. Go on.

Is the key-line. What does it mean to save her heart? Did Fate Shirou save her heart? I haven't found anything saying that, and believe me I've tried before. I have most of the game's script on a word file and can ctrl+f through it.

You'll also note Nasu did not say "EMIYA wasn't Archer that time", he side-stepped the entire question. Because he enjoys this, what we're doing right now.

In fact, you'll note that the sky in the second pic is the exact same elongated cog hiding behind clouds as in

So you're saying that a normal Shirou could add gears and since
it completely in no way matters that one has gears to prove your point?

I'm pretty sure it means that the scenario that created EMIYA was not the same as the scenario that created the Avalon Ending of Stay Night.

You're simultaneously arguing that gears are proof that it's chance it's EMIYA and yet it's completely up to the user what shows up in the UBW meaning anyone can add anything.

Sure, it's possible. But there's no evidence for it and the cogs remain a unique element for EMIYA. Compare to say, Kaleid Shirou. How is his UBW unique? The cogs are a specific element that are noted as being in his reality marble even in his profile. Nowhere else do they appear and they have no explanation that would say "oh, if this happened then you get cogs".

Ergo, they remain a unique element of EMIYA's UBW. You're free to disagree, but you can't prove anything.

You're pretty sure, because Nasu didn't definitely say anything. He does that.

*definitively

And you can't prove anything either, all you're stating is
You have no proof that gears appear before or after the death of Shirou and before becoming counter-guardian, yet you base your idea that EMIYA can be in Avalon because of this thing you can't prove. You're abstracting this entire reality where EMIYA can be in Avalon from that one guy using UBW had gears and one guy didn't when he was years younger and not dead inside.

Fate Encyclopedia, on Reality Marbles:
A subset of marble phantasm, it erodes reality and gives form to the user's imagined world. Unlike marble phantasm, however, the form of a reality marble cannot be freely adjusted. It is the manifestation of the user's one-and-only self, after all, so changing it with their will is impossible.

Thus, manifesting cogs means that the reality marble has to be possessed by someone who is the same person or someone who is extremely similar. Moreover, as I pointed out here earlier (You) the second UBW is the exact same one. Not similar, not alike, the exact same one.

You're just saying the exact same thing ==I== said earlier where life experience changes the appearance of a Reality Marble. It's canon that EMIYA learned to use it before becoming a counterguardian and the Shirou can do it too. Given that someone's innerworld can change over time due to life experience. You would have to prove that gears only show up after Shirou becomes EMIYA, our main issues is we have never seen an adult living Shirou use his UBW and whose it looks closer to. You have no proof that the gears appear after becoming a counter-guardian and not before.

Feel free to explain to me why Heracles stone sword gets random spikes and his armor changes, why Waver's age is regressing, why Saber can be summoned as an Archer with a water gun, why Altera's sword is changing shape, I could go on but if you're going to start using GO portrait art as canon, you've got a lot of explaining to do.

Uh, not that I know. It's specifically and repeatedly stated that EMIYA received the vision of UBW as he died and iirc there's nothing to prove he had it before that. It repeatedly says he received that world after dying and such. Not that it affects anything, I think.
I'm fine ignoring it, too. Since Archer's NP doesn't change and he's still the only one with cogs. Any way you want it, man.

Cooooooogs. EMIYA is the only one with them. They mean something, I know it.

Oh, hey. I found something. So at the time of his death, Emiya's UBW looked like this? So it would be reasonable to extrapolate that the cogs appeared after he continued to fight as a CG for eternity.

Where the fuck does it state he received Reality marble as compensation for becoming a Counter-Guardian. All it states is he made a contract to recieve great power to save a group of people. The Extra version of Shirou has a title of "Hero of Wrought Iron" because he was so fucking efficient at making weapons he was more suited to it then fighting. It's even stated in his profile that the only magecraft that EMIYA ever mastered in life was UBW, which means he didn't get it just hours before getting executed.

That wasn't a reality marble you dumbass it was his dying hallucination.

And day 8 supports that; Emiya only got the cogs after he died.

My fateautism stronk.

You might be onto something.
Or it might just have been given to him because big cogs in the sku looks cool and gives the rm a real industrial and gritty feel, what with being coupled with the smoke and everything.

He states right there it's an illusion he's seeing upon death not his reality marble.

Yeah, but it's the place he arrives at. I don't see what else it can be except the mental landscape which he manifests as his reality marble.

I remember thinking that Archer must have mastered UBW back when he was alive before the 2014 anime aired, but that show hammered the point that Archer only got it after he died pretty hard. But that would be in conflict with Nasu saying that Shirou would only need 10 years to master the basics(and I assume become able to manifest it) and another 10 to master it. But Nasu did also say that EMIYA died in his twenties-ish, so if he died at 26-27 then it would be just about at the point in time when he is supposed to be able to use it.

Shit, I need to think this through. Whatever, going to bed now. Thanks d0a5a0, I had fun. I've missed the crazy debates I used to have on 4/a/ before the exodus. That place was insane.

You mean he hallucinates as he is executed.

...

you know its actually implied that the reason the umbral star harvests civilizations is to trim the branches of time to stop a time crash. its said that each possibility is its own branch and when you look at the all the branches it forms the shape of a tree and not all branches humanity survives but too many branches is not good cause reality cant handle all the time lines. if you pay attention in the credits you see that playthrough's time line either die or live depending on whether the light on the end goes out. in karna's story he kills the titan sephyar and it shows that humanity still lives in that time line

The umbral star isn't the one pruning the branching reality paths, it's true that what you are seeing in the credits are the particular paths involved, however, reality itself is the one doing the trimming.

Are there any download links to an english patched version of Fate/Stay Night Realta Nua that are trustworthy?

When does Tsukihime get good? I've read all the way up to the first sex scene and aside from that one really good murder scene it's been really mediocre.

Check the next line here
"The hero that used this scenery as his weapon". Besides, it's a matter of simplicity as well. We have a barren landscape filled with swords which we know is UBW and then we have another barren landscape filled with swords, and you're telling me it's not UBW?

Because, if it was just some random hallucination on EMIYA's part, then Shirou seeing this in the UBW route makes no sense either. First at day 4 and then again at day 7, he sees his own version of UBW. If Shirou was merely being influenced by Archer, wouldn't he be seeing that version? And again right before Shirou uses UBW against Gil, he sees that place and even calls it "his world" which suggests it isn't just some hallucination.

And checking through the anime, they also had several scenes with Archer in UBW landscapes, without having the cogs there yet, with the scenes suggest an early time into his guardianship. Though given how they tend to appear, descending out of the sky they might just be hidden in those shots in the anime.

Tsukihime's strong points are the mood and mystery. If you're like me and are waiting for the action it might not satisfy you. What route(girl are you focusing) on?

I didn't focus on any route or girl in particular at all, I just played the Visual Novel until I felt I was done, and honestly when I stopped the story felt like it was done as well. Arcueid was introduced, Nero was introduced, and the tension rose as the pair had to deal with this guy the couldn't possibly beat… And then Shiki kills him, everything is wrapped up, and a day or two later Arcueid shows up to fuck his brains out.

I didn't buy the romance that an ancient immortal vampire-thing would have for this shmuck of a teenager, any tension the story had was wrapped up nearly instantly with no loose threads that I could think of, and shiki won in the typical Nasu fashion where he just kind of determinatored his way through impossible odds and won because his power has no limits. I was left feeling very unfulfilled and I didn't get an inkling of htis mystery that you're mentioning.

If there is something to this VN that I missed and I'm not understanding I would love to have it spoonfed to me, because I want to like this VN. Like I said, the murder scene and the aftermath of that was my favorite part of what I read, and I hope there's more stuff of that quality somewhere that I missed.

Well yeah, you're in the Near Side of the Moon routes. Arc's route is considered the weakest(and Ciel since it's also Near Side). I won't try to make it out to be perfect, since I'm more for a fatefag, but I would recommend you try to aim for the Far Side and playing a little of one of those routes.

Basically, the choice when Nrnvqsr is barking outside that choice triggers Near/Far side. Near is more "Oooh, vampires!" and Far is more Shiki going crazy and mystery about his background and him going insane.

If you're willing to give it another shot, try one of the Far Side routes, like I explained above. It's triggered when Shiki goes to bed in the mansion and can't sleep because of the barking dogs. I think you have to clear one Near side route first, so you'd have to power through Arc's route at least.

Wait, am I done with Arcueid's route, or is there more after the sex scene? From what I experienced it seemed to be over.

Well, have you run into Valdamdingdong yet? Also, there's like two sex scenes iirc and the othe ends with Arc eating Shiki's face a day later.

As in one sex scene is a bad end. But if you haven't had a huge fight scene at the end and Shiki going crazy awesome, then it's safe to say you're not done with the route yet. You generally get an "END" or "FIN" screen when the route ends.

>Not the girl who risked her life just to make you a little more comfortable while you were in a coma

Does anyone have a Fragments of 2030(8 crit stars every round) CE, yet? I just wanna know if its out already and I haven't seen any supports with it. Kinda want it for my crit team; the three stars from Fate/Extella kinda work, but I'll probably upgrade it to EMIYA's bond CE if nothing else shows up.

I thought Double Berserker Buster memes were fun, but getting dem golden digits with Gil and Hassan is just way too satisfying. I mean, popping 100% NP from zero in one Arts Brave Chain is just orgasmic on top of the crits.

It's not out yet, it'll come out with the Scathach Banner

Wow Holla Forums I am legitimately surprised at how civil this thread is Nasu threads are usually a clusterfuck of autism.

Is Extella actually worth playing? I enjoyed Extra but god damn if I don't have major issues in deriving pleasure from musou games, although I did enjoy Warriors Orochi

Extella is an awful Musou clone that is incredibly bland and boring, it also retcons a major part of Fate/Extra, namely giving MC two servants with Nero being the "main" and Tamamo being a "sub" during the events of Fate/Extra. Fate/Extella happens immediately afterwards. On canon and gameplay it is truly awful and only hardcore fatefags derive pleasure from at least waifus getting fleshed out.

Btw Attila the Hun was an Ayy lmao.

When are you going to get a level 100 Astolfo, Holla Forums?

When he's not the worst 4 star in the entire game.

Thanks, wasn't able to find any info on it and all the English websites which list info on the global release already have a profile for it so I wasn't sure.

You want autism? I could mention another of my pet theories and get another argument going. I got plenty of weird ideas and loose proofs to use.

The individual story lines of the side-characters were pretty fun, though. Li Shuwen just wanting to fuck shit up, Lancer just chilling and wrecking shit, Gawain talking about the Round Table, Karna being motherfucking Karna and wrecking the end boss on his own just because being Tamamo's subordinate wasn't bad at all or, Archer going around and pulling a triple kill on the three kings or in Saber's story being the true puppetmaster behind the scenes.

He can't help it, user, his entire character is a giant mistake on purpose. Performance doesn't matter anyway.

kek reminds me when I blew a ticket on Orion banner for shits and giggles and got Altera

Should I just be a fag and watch an LP while doing something else, or is it worth replaying?

Fate/GO, Extella and the other recent entry's(barring extra, CCC) have killed me inside

If this is how Nasu is gong to progressively milk his series I'd rather Tsukihime never gets it's remake and dies in obscurity

I would say at best you can replay it once, since you get two different fights (Lancer and Berserker change) depending if you choose Rani or Rin. It's still a terrible game but you get to enjoy the new waifu and at least *some* new content fight wise.

I'm playing Caster here, 5th week currently. Did you enjoy fighting as Saber? Now try having less than half her HP, less than half damage in her normal attacks and having to rely on your pretty limited magic to do an actual assload of damage? Then do so.
Her damage skills can stun according to the skill and what normal attack the enemy did and she kind of has ways to regain MP, by using Breaks after a skill, or on a magic guard that costs 40 MP to use and regains 50 if you block a skill with that, or 100 if you block a NP, but only for the one move you used it. But she reaches her true potential at around Lv 30, where she gains a passive that restores 10% MP after battle, so you can grind better, although at that point it hardly matters.

Other than those gameplay related things, her dialogue can be pretty funny, and she tries to be the best waifu she can be.

I really like Caster but GODDAMN is it easy to get destroyed with her

Does NG+ carry over the master levels even if you change servant? Because I'd like to see what this Saber is about, but fuck having to grind all over again.

Master levels do not, the knowledge of enemy fight patterns does retain. Meaning it's much easier to fight as Caster the second time around because you have already gotten a lot of the enemy data. The Servants fight patterns are not retained though, so you still need to do the investigations.

Oh almost forgot, there's a secret boss you can fight only after beating the game a second time. If you're into that sort of thing.

Well shit, I'll still have to grind, I guess I'll either watch a longplay or figure out how to cheat in level ups to save time.

If I ever replay it I'll fight her, but I'm a Fateonly fag, so I don't know if I'll miss anything important she says.

you're the worst kind of poster

From the mind that brought us "People die when they're killed" and "Just because correct doesn't mean you're right."

Shiki is fucking insane, man.

Shiki is fun.

I always wondered why nobody replied to Gil that he is in fact the mongrel. I mean, being part God is better than being full human, but that still makes you a mongrel, technically.

So a little girl found a sword in the lake King Arthur threw Excalibur.
Is she actually Seiba, Holla Forums?

I dig it

gotchu fam

Only if she leads a crusade and wipes out the invading muslim menace from europe.

Wasn't the sword a prop from some a old English movie? If not, it's pretty badass.

thx fam. I can pull out FSN screenshots all day, but I lost my Tsukihime install a few years back and didn't have a back up.

Gonna be a real spoilsport here and analyze the sword for real.

It's barely rusted, despite being in the water fully submerged and given that a little girl could find and pull it out, it couldn't have been in too deep. It's presumably also not made out of any proper steel, and guessing by the dull luster you can see through the spots its probably stainless steel, but hard to tell for sure. The design, make and details all indicate it's made with modern tools and techniques, as some kind of reproduction. Especially since the Britons of that period favored a one handed spatha derivative as their sword of choice. English longswords(15th century onwards) generally also have straight quillons, so while they are reminiscent of a certain Excalibur, they are wholly inappropriate for that period.

Unless she starts throwing around swordbeams, I doubt the Britons will bend knee. Still a cool find.

i got a heart and a scale back to back which is good cause i also got saber alter recently

Why the fuck do unique skills not have an automatic EX or at least no ranking? Asterious has a skill (not a noble phantasm, but a skill) that nobody else can have and for some reason it's a C. Labrys from the Abyss is a skill that just gives him two axes, literally. What are we comparing it too? It's not a noble phantasm, which only have parameters to give rough estimates. And if you look at Altera's unique class skill, Crest of the Star, it's EX because nobody else could ever have that skill. What are unique skills that only one servant can have compared to to give arbitrary parameters? I know, I know.
That isn't the point, I want to know what the shitty excuse for this is so I can stop thinking about it.

So what's the big deal with Fate/Stay? I'm watching the anime right now and it just seems like a shitty JoJo knockoff set in a generic done to death shonen tournament arc. Also the protag is a retard. I don't get it.

It started the series so it's a really good indicator whether or not you will actually like anything Fate related.
I swear to god if it's Deen.
If Jojo stands had actual personalities you may have an argument but this is a really shitty comparison, each servant is just as much a member of the main cast as the magus.
This is a more acceptable comparison but still off. What Fate/Stay Night was mostly know for was Waifus and world building, you may not like the particular waifu (Rin for Unlimited Blade Works, Saber for Fate route) but the grail war itself is just a backdrop for character interactions. The idea of "Cu fighting Gilgamesh" or "Attila fighting Alexander the Great" is also a draw as in Fate the way servants are comparable makes it more enjoyable. I would also say there is a light layer of mystery as things in the holy grail war aren't as they really seem. If none of this sounds appealing to you maybe Fate isn't right for you.
This is explained later, but for your basic explanation. Shirou is psychotic, he has such a warped level of thinking due to surviving some trauma that he does not act in any rational way, and you should not expect him to. The moment you stop thinking Shirou has any sense of self-value and life-preservation instinct everything he does begins to make perfect sense because every dumb thing he does it completely intentionally with even himself knowing it's retarded.

This is why someday JoJo will be considered to be on the level of SnK and Naruto.
The sooner the better

Of course it will, when it ends, which will only be with Araki's death.
So never

Wew

JoJo is slowly turning into just another normalfag approved series and you'll realize that soon enough.

Normalfags liking something doesn't make it worse or better, it's when it starts pandering to said normalfags that it does. And current Jojo seems to be moving more and more away from that especially with Araki's art style getting more out there as time goes by.
Though anime secondaries truly are garbage.

I don't really mean to say that the increase in normalfags will make it worse, it's more along the lines of the whole series getting a negative stigma attached because the retards that make up the majority of it's fanbase are so ridiculously insufferable.

Eh, only hipsters care about things being too popular and start hating them for it. It makes a good screen for jerkwads too. And since people liking it got us into the mess into the first place, less people showing up after that is also fine.

But shit like naruto and SnK are panned because they are actually bad on their own merit. though the normalfags don't help

it depresses me that we have anyone who plays mobileshit like fgo here

Naruto was ok before shippuden
Probably just nostalgia though

I don't get where you draw the similarities from. Servants are spirits (they are even compared to familiars in the anime/VN) of renowned heroes from history drawn from the Throne of Heroes, unlike Stands which are a manifestation of the user's psyche. The only similarity I can see between the two is that both Servants and Stands are led by a person and even then that rule is broken in SN a few times

And you can't appreciate just how much a psychotic madman Shirou is from the anime alone. The VN beyond the first route explains to great lengths how much a broken shell of a person he is through internal monologues. It even fucking highlights this by explaining that by mindlessly following his way of life without a second thought, he will become the bitter and cynical asshole that Archer is. DEEN's version completely missed the point; the UBW anime made it some justice, but not enough.

Guessing it's something like "two high quality non-np axes" = worth a C in general terms of damage and usefullness. Like you look at Kanshou & Bakuya, they're a C-rank NPs, and they're just kind cool swords with some minor powers.

Star Emblem is an obvious reference to her AYYY LMAOO origin, so it having a high ranking isn't that weird. Also, waifu boost compared to a big dumb teddy bear like Asterios who no one will spend 200$ to get.

Before reading the VN:

After reading the VN:
SHIROU IS BESTEST HUSBANDO

The UBW anime handled it kind of awkwardly, though it's good for a laugh.

Shiki is great fun for the family. What route should I do after Arc's? I heard Ciel's route was the absolute worst so i'll consider powering through it next.

Asterios dindu nuffin wrong, he a gud boi

To understand why Kanshou and Bakuya are useful you need to learn how rank fighting ranks occur. Whenever a servant attacks without revealing their NP name, the attack is directly based off of their strength. In this case, EMIYA would always have an attack that's a D in strength. Once you reveal the name of your NP, each you attacks get to be the rank of said NP. In this EMIYA using K & B up ranks all of his attacks from being a D to a C. This is really only important when an enemy like Heracles has a skin that prevents all damage from sources lower than A for his God Hand. EMIYA using B& K makes sense, he gets a direct upgrade from it.
Asterious has a strength rank of A++, which in and of itself is insane as any servant with higher than A rank anything are supposed to be super god tier exceptional. It is a direct downgrade for him to be using C rank NPs because his strength is fucking insane. I really wanted that to be the explanation but it doesn't make sense.
Star Emblem as explained in Extella is super enhancing all of Altera's abilities and she actually only has it at least in servant form due to a "obscure Mongolian ritual" this is literally what it says and is super good. I'm trying to understand why Asterious is using axes that don't improve his damage, don't do anything special and it's a skill on top of everything else.

If you liked Arc's route even without Arc, then it's more of the same. Ciel isn't nearly as popular and has the dubious honor of being named Currybutt, but I don't think she's all that bad. It has some good fights later on, but it doesn't hold a candle to the crazy that is the Far Side.

I liked the Ciel Route, more than Arc's one.
Ciel trying to save you from becoming a vampire was 100 times more heartwarming than anything Arc did, and the ending was heartbreaking.

Source? Because if this is true, KB go from being kinda good to HOLY FUCK NERF THIS SHIT NOW levels of broken, lorewise.

And EMIYA's strength is all over the place. He goes from "lol D rank" to managing to have apparently equaling B-rank Strength full power blows and then supposedly striking with force equal to what Heracles can do while half dead.

I know right, Ciel getting NTR'd a bimbo vamp, where is the justice in this world?

I kinda want an Asterios plushie. He just looks so fluffy.

Not really right, but not really wrong either.
NPs have names, and those names are used to invoke them and their power.
You can use NPs normally, like Kanshou and Bayuka (and Archer usually uses them because they are REALLY WELL CRAFTED SWORDS and nothing else) without invoking or activating them, but if you want to use the full potential of the NP, you have to invoke them with their real name, anything else gets you a flawed replica.
For example, Mash's shield. The shield's name is Lord Camelot, Sir Galahad's shield.
When Mash invokes it, as "Lord Chaldeas", it creates a puny degraded barrier that blocks stuff. However, when she invokes it as "Lord Camelot", you get a gigantic fucking fortress blocking attacks.

Now, about Emiya Archer, he is a cheater. First, he has UBW for summoning unlimited copies of weapons depending on his mana. Second, he has Overedge, the ability to reinforce weapons to improve them. And third, he also can turn NPs into "Broken Phantasms", sacrificing them for an attack of a higher rank (like Hrunting, which is created as a B NP with UBW, but he can throw it and break if for an A rank attack).

Fuck Fate. I want Melty2/HD.

Yeah, I know all that. But I want to know if there's been an official explanation for how STR and NP affect attack damage outside of NP activation.

Because if that's all it takes to activate it the KB are seriously fucking borked.

The place that says this directly and quite plainly is Fate/Apocrypha - Volume 1, somewhere in there, for the direct quote.

While Nasu didn't specifically say this anywhere, he sure does talk like it does.
Q. Lancer, Caster, Assassin, and True Assassins; all with normal attack and Noble Phantasms of B or lower. If they fought against Berserker, wouldn't it be a one-sided fight? Or are there any of them that can match up against him?

A: Assassin and True Assassin by themselves wouldn't even be a fight. Lancer can use his runes and Noble Phantasm together to temporarily raise the rank to A, but it'd still be a very disadvantageous fight but "one with some chances". Caster has two front-line Saber-class defenders, so if she uses her high sorcery then she'd be able to deal damage, but that would be limited to 2 to 3 times. Also, in the game, Assassin was able to push Berserker back because of the terrain advantage and support from Caster (weighing down Berserker's body). …Well, since the compatibility of Assassin and Berserker is horrible, the fact that Berserker was even pushed back is enough to say "whoah, Kojirou's amazing".

In this instance neither Lancer, Assassin, or True Assasin are able to land normal attacks.
Key phrase here

Moving onward, it is a fact that Arturia's normal attacks don't pierce god hand while she has a strength rank of B, while Saber Alter has the ability to pierce god hand with every sword swing due to her strength A, meaning that even though both Arturia and Arturia Alter are both using the exact same rank of NP (A++) and one could argue the exact same fucking sword I don't want to argue Excalibur/Excalibur Morgan Shenanigans one is able to pierce god hand with a normal attack and one is not. Since all God Hand does in this situation is does a check of "is this attack B-Rank or lower, if so, negate" this applies to normal attacks, magecraft or NP.

Keep in mind most this bullshit stems from the fact Heracles has this bullshit rank check ability which means normal attacks must have ranks one way or another because Herc's body auto-checks for them.

This is because of the mechanic of "revealing the Noble Phantasm raises the rank of the attack", EMIYA attack get stronger when he uses NPs. In addition EMIYA is DOUBLE BROKEN, because EMIYA will use "Broken Phantasms" which is where he causes the NP to break and do extra damage higher then even it's original rank. Which is why EMIYA really likes to make his shots NPs like Caladbolg 2 explode on impact.

Well, the Nasu quote is kinda meaningless, since it only says about Gae Bolg, which is B and thus wouldn't cut it anyhow. But I'll check the Apo thing out real quick.

Eh, I checked volume 1 with both the terms "noble phantasm" and "rank" and didn't find really anything. I remember reading something similar being said in Prisma Illya, but most people ignore that.

I think the line in question was
This is referring to Karna fighting Siegfried. Apparently Karna was being amazing by having B-rank strength and being able to strike through Blood Armor, which negates anything beneath B-rank. He shouldn't be able to do this because, as it says, if the noble phantasm is not activated its rank isn't applied. Of course, I'm uncertain if an activated Noble Phantasm like Excalibur is just the blast or if revealing it's name still has the effect.

*negates anything at B-rank or lower

halp.

blame riyo's shit for getting me interested.

Just download it from qooapp.

Ironically, the normal, non-war magic that interfaces with Servants is a lot more like a Stand.

...

…I'm not sure what you're driving at with this reply.

Basically in the visual novel they clarify that usually when you interact with the Throne of Heroes via spells you're summoning an /aspect/ of the Servant that acts in your stead for a very specific and short-lived purpose. That's all I meant.

...

Oh for fuck's sake.

You mean the difference between the original shit and the new shit? Yes, I know the fucking difference, but fuck me if I'm gonna go to the effort of using perfect autistic terminology for a single low-effort post pointing something like that out. Christ. Might as well blow a gasket over someone misnaming a Marble Phantasm for a Reality Marble.

Every day we move farther from the light.

The distinct difference between magecraft and magic and the definitions involved have not changed since the beginning, since the fact that Magus can't use magic is kind of' the entire point of the holy grail war.

Yeah, but:
It says in vol1.

I dunno what you're talking about, I had a very productive argument about meaningless Fate lore itt.

Why are Japanese so lazy with graphics? This is terrible and not acceptable.

were finally getting that fate stay night banner we never got. I got really lucky with summon ticket summons and got alter and tamamo cat

Just rolled Kintoki and Martha, how good are they?

Kintoki is quite possibly one of the best Berserkers. He has super easy access to his NP because. at level 10 his second skill boosts his NP gauge by 50%. This is nearly unheard of as Berserker's ususally suffer immensely getting their NP off. He currently has the highest max attack on the US server servant wise, which paired with his first skill means he hits like a truck. His defense ignoring NP has a pretty good multiplier so he's definitely useable. His main problem comes from a severe lack of defensive options. He has a heal but a 3000 heal is going to do barely anything to keep him alive. The reason I say he is one of the best is because Heracles far outclasses him in survivability and can hit just a little bit less hard than Kintoki. It should also be noted that Kintoki has shit passives with a divinity D and a Madness enhancement E he barely gets any value out of his buster cards. The de facto best Berserker is Cu Alter but we won't see him until America.

Martha is an average 4 star, nothing really notable other than she can purge off stuns that Jeanne and Tamamo Cat throw on themselves.

when jeanne gets her np upgraded martha becomes more useless

I wouldn't say useless as much as, "an average 4 star".

Do you even need SQ rolls in this game?

You can get one of the best Berserker's with re-rolls, the best is Cu Alter undoubtedly.
Regend is a meme for killing dragons and that's it, Hans is discount Zuge Liang, and he gets shit on by Merlin as well, Cu is one of the best lancers with only Scathach being reliable better, fat roman is the best Saber as of right now but there are far better one's. Okita being top-tier. Nero Bride is also top-tier as well.
Hassan is discount Jack the Ripper for star gen, and both Jack and Hassan get shit on by Kintoki Rider, who is broken as all hell.
If need is defined as "complete the story". No, you can beat the game with all bronze servants if you're really smart at it.(With Asterious being top-tier) If need is defined as "complete all event challenges", the answer is yes.

I am very disappointed that there arent any more modern servants. Why doesn't Napolean have one? Or George Washington? Hell, Adolf Hitler would make sense, even if he's just a berserker.

Because it's incredibly difficult to become a heroic spirit in the current age, unless you go full counter-guardian like EMIYA. Hell, Edison barely qualifies and his stats are garbage for it. Even if they did qualify, they would be garbage servants. This was all explain in Fate/Stay Night so I don't understand why you're bitching.

Those voice actors are SHIIIIIT

Should I grail my Kiyohime? Is it worth it?

Up to 90 is just two grails so if you want to keep using her and have/plan to have her max Fou'd then sure. She's not the best there is but no means is she completely shit either. Waifu is laifu, so do as you will.

It's actually 4 grails.

The saying goes that grails are for love. If she's your waifu feel free. Unless you're going full tryhard autist the difference between max level without grail and max level with is slim.

She's a 3 star not a 4 star. It takes 4 grails to get her to 90.

I must have missed that part, then. How come biblical figures like Jesus Christ or Cain or even Moses aren't heroic spirits?

David is a heroic spirit but the reason that is is because nasu doesnt wanna open that can of worms

If Edison can qualify then so could Hitler. That's just a case of Nasu being too much of a pussy.
It's a real shame it'll never happen.

look how much of a difference class advantage can make

Jesus is a divine being, he can't be a heroic spirit. Moses would totally work as a caster, but as said I think Nasu is just avoiding that general controversy.

good point i didnt consider that

Damn. I don't really care about the women in FGO, to be honest. I'd much rather have famous military generals or biblical characters than no-name Japanese swordsmen/ninjas.

Or you can just use cheats with PPSSPP and steamroll everything in EXTRA with Caster.

I'd like to see Joshua or Nebuchadnezzar II in as servants too.

Hell Solomon might be the single most important character in the Nasuverse because he's the one that conceptualized that modern form of magecraft and started the decline of the gods. He is the big granddaddy spell wise of every fucking magus in existence.
If Jesus could be summoned it would be under the Saver class, however that class is one of the most confusing as it only features in Extra. The only people we've seen qualify for it is the Gautama buddha and Kiraya.

He exists and even has a character design him popping up at some point would not surprise me in the slightest. He's not avoiding controversy in the slightest.

Edison barely does and that's only with the conceptual reinforcement of the 45 presidents of the United states. That's right, it takes 45 presidents to turn Edison from completely useless to something some what bearable as a servant wise. One Hitler is not on the same level as all fucking 45 presidents of the US combined.

He might be but Gautama Buddha was already a servant and he should be a god as well.

Thinking about it other than David, Solomon already servants, Moses who has a character design though he has not be summoned specifically as a servant and Jesus who should be all means qualify for the Saver Messiah class. It's hard to imagine what other biblical figures could be cool enough cats to become heroic spirits. I can imagine Samson as a berserker. Noah's probably famous enough but what would his class be? Would Judas be Avenger?

With all these biblical servants already. The question truly becomes when we will see Book of Mormon servants now :^)

I don't know what class he could be summoned under but his NP is already stated to be the Hanging Gardens of Babylon.

Nigga, most people barely know the names of about 5 US presidents at most. Maybe it's diferent over in 'Murica but considering Hitler is still used as a boogeyman even today, i'd say he's more qualified than 40 dudes that are only remembered by the people that lived during their terms as presidents.
Hell, they could do the same shit as with Edison and just merge Hitler with the entirety of the Axis powers if they really wanted to.

Then we move on to the next problem, even if Hitler is famous, he didn't have any special skills, attacks of armaments. In fact in the current age it's almost impossible to make one's self special by means of armaments as anyone is capable of using a nuclear bomb if given the launch code, anyone can shoot a gun given a gun, there's nothing special enough about any moderns heroes that make them useful. This is especially true of modern servants, who don't have any necessary skills that the Throne of heroes would want in order to combat supernatural threats on the scale of wiping out humanity? What skills does Hitler have to offer in that situation? Unlike Edison, whose only redeeming feature was the mass production and the beginning of modern technology, which gives him EX rank NP against anything considered having the trait "mystery" such as the divine, magical, or phantasmal. What does Hitler have to offer the throne of heroes as heroic spirit on the scale of fighting supernatural threats? Maybe, possibly, Hitler would be considered someone "incredibly efficient at killing humans" which is a big fucking maybe because Angra Mainyu already took the title of best servant at killing humans, and Primate Murder is even better than him.

*This is especially true of modern heroes or historic figures, who don't have any necessary skills that the Throne of heroes would want in order to combat supernatural threats on the scale of wiping out humanity.

Knowing how Nasu can come up with just about any kind of bullshit that could justify a historic figure showing up as a servant (ie: Shakespeare or Mozart), i'm sure he can make something up for Hitler.
He has potential for classes like Archer (muh guns), Caster (muh strategy), Avenger (muh jews) or Berserker (muh genocide). Just give him Blitzkrieg as his NP and some strategy oriented skills and you're golden.

He had connections to the occult and believed to be someone who studied magic when he wasn't making world-class music. He's certainly not the best or even a good Caster but the reason he even qualifies is because of his study of the occult COMBINED with the sheer level of notoriety his works have. Keyword here is combined, Hitler only has one.
Was Hitler super good with guns? I have no records stating he was some master marksmen and if we went by those standards there are many many other's that are far better. That's not how qualifying for Archer works
Tactics is a fucking skill you pleb and any class can have it. Tactics has nothing to do with qualifying for Caster.
So Hilter was killing the jews out of a sense of revenge and not to improve the quality of life of Germans? Avengers kind of need to avenge.
This is bait, you're the same faggot that walks into the Fate thread, bitches that Hitler isn't a heroic spirit, gets rightfully shown that Hitler would never be a heroic spirit and then throws a tantrum.

What about summoning Hitler as a Ruler class servant?

Also but couldn't Hitler be summoned as a caster as a pseudo-servant combined with a modern day magus like Zhuge-Liang, or is there another condition I'm missing?

Only servants impartial to the grail for wishes are allowed to be in this class. Typically saints, though Sherlock Holmes managed to qualify, as well as Robert E. Lee. Now, not to imply anything, but I'm going to assume Hitler has one very specific wish for the grail.
First off not all Pseudo-servants are Caster, for instance Ishtar is an Archer and uses Rin's body. Second, Pseudo-servants are for spirits who would not qualify to be herioc spirits under standard conditions. Zhuge Liang is not amazing enough to be it on his own so he has to possess Waver. Ishtar is a goddess so she shouldn't even be there, and there's the Jaguar spirit that took control of a particular tiger-striped teacher. To be honest, anyone on the face of the planet at any point in time can qualify to be a pseudo servant, as the qualifications would be "don't qualify to be a servant on your own". Even then, pseudo-servants are only produced as a fusion to produce stronger forces against threats to humanity. So, again, what does Hitler have to offer the throne of heroes even as a pseudo-servant?

One more thing, it should be stated that pseudo-servants would only be summoned under the grand orders as the throne is kind of freaking out right now that humanity got completely wiped off the face of the earth, which leads to all kinds of rules being thrown out of whack. Pseudo-servants would never exist anywhere outside of the Grand Orders.

Oh and one more thing, even if Hitler did manage to be one, since the resulting pseudo servant is not one but rather a merge between the two individuals in question, and not one or the other, it still isn't Hitler technically but a bastardized fusion between him and some other poor schmuck with it's own independent personality.

I made Hitler a Rider. He's basically a Francis Drake with weaker stats but stronger NPs. His skills are Riding, Seraphic Monstrosity and Charisma. He may be a bad strategist but he knows how to lead his people. Now that I think about it, a master can use a CS to make him go full Genocider who has an AoE that insta-kills Jews. We can call it Gas Chambers.

How is this any difference from Hitler? He's heavily involved with fringe shit as well (e.g. UFO's, Antarctic Base, mythical technology, etc.)
They could easily make Hitler some kind of servant if they chose to go with those beliefs. If that's the case, they could make Hitler a caster easily, or maybe even a Ruler/Avenger depending on how you interpret his ideals.

Because in world he legitimately studied magecraft, which Leonardo did as well which is why he gets to be summoned as Caster. Most things involving Nazi occultism isn't Hitler himself researching it to be a mage himself but rather something to be investigated by other parties, unless there's some statement from Hitler himself that states he studied magic personally as opposed to ordering others.

So the question becomes what Nasuverse character most qualifies as Hitler…
Remove nonhumans

Aww yeeeaaah.

AWWWW YEEEAAAHH

You're right, I was mixing her with Tamamo Cat; I have both and got them at the same time so for whatever reason I mixed them up. Sorry for the fuck up.

My point is: It's entirely possible for Nasu to come up with some bullshit to have Hitler in the Throne of Heroes. He's done it before and he can do it again, but he's too much of a pussy.
I'm entirely aware it will never happen but i enjoy entertaining the thought, i don't go on every Fate thread to talk about Hitler not being a servant, i think i've mentioned that a total of 3 times across all the threads i've participated in. The Fate autism and the paranoia are getting to you user, chill.

I'd make a mock stats page if i had any photoshop skills.

Lancer Hitler
>Spear of Destiny/Lance of Longinus False, given to him based on rumors and the old novel. Neither he nor Patton ever had the thing
>Hitler wins and only wishes for prosperity and happiness for his people
I'd read it.

Hey, they turned Arthur into a girl. This wouldn't be too much of a stretch. I'd buy it.

Where were you farming chimera claws? Germania?

Noah would of course be a rider, you silly goose.

Is this the game's way of telling me to roll for Nero?
At least I got best housewife Medea. Her fucking rapid invocation skill charges up 80% of the NP bar at lv. 1 jesus christ.

Yeah. Gotten already like, 4 I think. But gonna do monster cavalry today for evil god/foreign hearts, because they're like once a week and the half ap lasts a couple of days.

He would be a fucking badass Rider.

Cu becomes in the later game pretty common to get, iirc he even gets thrown into the FP summon pool, but I might be wrong about that. Best of luck in your summons, since he is fucking awesome.

why does artoria have dragonblood? did someone in her family fug a dragon?

Her father was Uther Pendragon. Other than that, nothing in Arthurian myth suggests dragons, other than it taking place in England, maybe it's a reference to St. George being the patron Saint of England.

Uther and Merlin got together, once they realized that the old powers of the Briton kings was fading, as the age of magic continued to decline. So they went "let's stuff a dragon's magic core into one of my babies and have it be the king!" so they went and raped some other king's wife(Igraine, her names was iirc) because she was the only one who was compatible with the scheme and then when Artoria was born a girl Uther lost interest but Merlin was having too much fun and kept going with the plan anyhow.

So basically, Artoria was a Merlin's experiment in making a human-shaped dragon. Garden of Avalon has more about that, if you want to read about it.

all 3 star servants and lower are in FP summon pool. It's just incredibly rare to get them in the FP pool, they don't post percentages but I'd put it at 1% to get a 3 star at all. It should also be noted not all servants are equal in chance to get them even if they are the same rank. i.e. Medusa is much easier to get then Gilles De Rais Caster. I've gotten 5 NP of all 5 star servants except Cu Caster and Gilles Caster.

*except Cu caster and Gilles Caster who I've never even seen summoned at all

*of all 3 star servants
Sonovabitch too tired

That fucker is real rare, I've heard. Is he any good?

not at all

I don't remember where, exactly, but I read an interview with Nasu (which means absolutely nothing because Nasu and interviews) that Jesus is ineligible because he's both too divine and alive. Also, he mentioned that if he was eligible, he would be the only Hero capable of being summoned as a Grand Ruler.
Not sure what to make of that, because Nasu just asspulls on every interview and it wouldn't surprise me if he was drunk at all times.

Elijah, the Great Prophet, as a Caster.
He was well known for dropping meteors and fire from heaven, changing the weather, and outrunning cavalry while on foot.

I can't see anything about Jesus qualifying for normal Ruler let alone grand which is kind of odd because we already know Robert E. Lee qualifies.
Was he the one that had bears eat some youth that were making fun of him being bald?

That was Elisha, Elija's protege; although legend holds that Elija did similar things except with Lions, which is where Elisha got the idea.

*Elijah
Seriously, mornings.

Makes me smile everytime. On that note, Elijah may not be eligible to be a servant as he never actually died, but was taken away on a fiery chariot. Elisha would be functionally the same though, as he took his mantle and his powers. I also thought of Joshua, who's NP might be either the destruction of the Walls of Jericho, or the time he stopped time from ending the day until he slaughtered his enemies.

Other servants I want to see:
Saber, hero of two wars, America's favorite fighting Frenchman.
Lots of potential, as he was also a folk hero.
Unified the Iroquois peoples, also a mohawk warrior.
Motherfucking tanks.
Most famous Incan leader, conquered a shitton of land and was generally a loved benevolent leader.
Son of Pachacuti, would be a rider for having lead a 10-month voyage into the pacific sea. Also was the leader of the Incan armies in his father's reign. Perhaps summonable as a saber too?
Worshipped as a god of fire and a Sun God. Carried around a golden staff (Tapac-Yauri) that could be his NP. Founded Cuzco, probably would be a Caster.

...

Too many no-name indians. We already have the best indian in the game.

I'd like to see Cain as an avenger or something.

You're making me flustered, user.

Now i want Galvarino as a berserker.

How do you motherfuckers get these? I've been getting secret gems for weeks now, and no parts. I just need hearts or dragon fangs. I'm supposed to be doing the highest and intermediate hunting quests, right?

It has shitty drop rates, that's just how it is. Did Monster Hunter Cavalry yesterday and got five gold chests from the Demon. All fucking Secret Gems.

Shit's fucked, news at eleven.

It's all up to chance, but to answer your question here.
Demon Hearts are only on the highest one in the entirety of the game right now, so yes, do that one for hearts. Dragon fangs are actually best gathered on Novice.
docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1_SlTjrVRTgHgfS7sRqx4CeJMqlz687HdSlYqiW-JvQA/htmlview?sle=true#
And when monster hunt isn't going on, it's at Thiers in Orleans.

Post yfw niggers will never be heroic spirits

To be honest I would like to see Shaka Zulu as a lancer, just so he can keep the long standing lancer tradition and kill himself.

Thx bby

time for a new thread
