Too many recycled zones, the recycled zones have recycled gimmicks from other stages that obviously feel wrong being there, almost none of the gimmicks amount to more than boosting you and the level design is underwhelming. New stages aren't all that memorable either.

Every dungeon in Daggerfall is a randomly generated octopus orgy where you can fall through the floor at any given moment, plus one or more of the following:
Daggerfall requires intense meta-gaming and save scumming to even feel like a fair game. It's so buggy that the gravity is actually fucked permanently in my copy of the game on all save files. I would rank it below Morrowind; it would have actually benefited from handcrafted dungeons and a smaller world. But it's still better than Skyrim and Oblivion, which says a lot about Bethesda.

Orochi Z3, DW7 and Gundam Reborn is holy trinity of musoushit, truly the pinnacle of the genre.

Daggerfall is basically Oblivion with shitty graphics, dungeons that are so large and convoluted you can't get out without the recall spell, and even more stinky combat though. Both have level scaling up the ass, both have randomly generated level scaled loots, both have quick travel, and both are super dull. It's got a really huge world though, I'll give you that, but you've got to be delusional if you think that daggerfall is better.

I hope DaggerXL will have enough modability to fix the combat and simplify the dungeon layout.

Since you left, let's clarify the actual power ratings of the consoles from the first hand experiences of someone who owns every system from the generation and has actually tested them:
Xbox > PC > PS2 = GC

Xbox was at the top mostly because PC ports of the time were pretty weak, sometimes even removing features and rarely featuring controller support (mind you some of these issues were fixed by modders, but if we're talking base game, xbox was better). PS2 and Cube are tied because the cube had more processing power but a weird controller and smaller discs, PS2 had better controllers and full-sized up to dual sided dvds however was the weakest system of the generation if you don't count the Dreamcast (which really shouldn't be given it didn't even last more than a year into the PS2's life).

Xbox was fine hardware. Also who's projecting about being poor when you're bitching about how you can't afford common unwanted game hardware. It's not like an Xbox in 2017 is some rare expensive find.

I wouldn't call the Duke (original xbox controller) worse than Dreamcast, it was just big, but otherwise pretty good (it's key problem was the placement of the black and white buttons which were really the Xbox controllers biggest problem in general because they should have been shoulder buttons). As for when the S was produced, it wasn't right before the 360, it was shortly after the Japanese launch because originally that's the controller they made for the japanese but they realized it was a general improvement so they brought it over, not sure on timeline past then.

If you own a nice PC and don't mind the occasionally emulation gremlin than really not a huge reason. That said if you get a Fat PS2 they're really easy to retrofit with a hard drive and dump games on, and they're dirt cheap so it's not like owning one is a burden. I have one, I'm an original hardware hacker who just likes the feel of the original controller and system running everything (though I do have a nice PC which I use to emulate some things, mostly arcade, as well as obviously playing PC games). It just depends on if you give enough of a shit.

My nigga. I agree with the Shenmue and Conker changes, Originals are far better on the original systems (and the censorship in Conker is retarded, I have no idea what they were thinking). Probably the rest too, but I haven't played those. Not really my list, just one I saved as I was loading up my Xbox HDD, though I may make my own as I explore the library deeper. Have fun with the PS2 library, it has some great games. Way of the Samurai is one of my favorite games of all time.
