I'll go first.
What kind of music do you like in your games?

why are videogames shit now?

Anything by Disasterpeace. I love the eerie melodies combined with chiptune. Fez & Hyper Light Drifter are eargasmic.

I associate embedded video with spring time because that's when the game came out and it fits the swamp/falls/ruins theme as well.

Video Games are no longer an art form, but a quick cash grab.
Anyone can spend a week learning Unity / Game Maker / Godot / Construct, make a shit smartphone game, fill it with ads and get rich whilst doing it.
There isn't much love. The games that ARE made from love don't get attention.

It's kind of like survival of the fittest except it's survival on the most profitable.

Pic related.

Maybe because as you grow older, user, your tastes change and become more selective. Or. Maybe devs are lazy and decide pander to cheapest crowd.
And I would say, speaking as /tg/ guy here, it's cheaper, and easier, to have no passion about a game than to have passion.
Indie devs nowadays don't have passion for new, but instead to capture nostalgia.

That song had zero dislikes so I fixed that, God do I feel good

Does anyone have the tile sheet for hotline miami? I'm working on some traditional maps for some tabletop, I felt I should ask here because it's vidya related.

Did you try
spriters-resource.com/pc_computer/hotlinemiami/
and
spriters-resource.com/pc_computer/hotlinemiami2wrongnumber/
?

I did try 2, but it didn't have anything. I probably should've checked 1 as well. Thanks, user.

I believe it's because video games aren't targeted towards smart people anymore and most video games nowadays aren't made with passion.

persona 5 was the last game i thoroughly enjoyed. you could see the amount of passion and love that was put into it.

nowadays a game as good as this, even with no budget, its like finding a needle in a haystack.

Well its never been survival of the fittest, but survival of the most prolific.

Seriously, why has no one tried to fill the hole it left? We're probably never gonna get a sequel anyway.

Please tell me you don't actually believe this.

See, I'm torn because I like Persona 5 because I'm all for the dumb comfy adventures with horrible monster summoning powers, but the amount of free time that game takes away is maddening. I guess it just continues the theme of how you're not actually free. I swear to God if the devs actually thought of that and used that as the basis for removing your free time, I'd lose my shit.

Having not played Dragon's Dogma, what stops you from playing something like Baroque, Rogue Galaxy, or Shadow of the Colossus?

games are supposed to take hundreds of hours.

if a game is over in 20 hours its shit, or mediocre at the very best.

Haha what

I guess you should go back to playing WoW. I've heard there's hundreds of hours of content!

im really not in the mood to develop, whatever niggers, stop pretending to be retarded you know what i meant.

I actually don't. Where did length of game come in? If you're talking about my complaining of free time, you've never played Persona.

You sound like you've never posted on an imageboard or English isn't your first language.

Have any of you guys played this game before?

you sound like an asshole trying too hard to be a clever "quirky", you know what i meant, an RPG like persona can't end in a couple hours, it needs to have some length to it to be worth full price.

clever "quirky" asshole*. only thing you're missing is a ":^)" and you'll be done.

I remember thinking it was alright and recall it having some decent animation.

Okay, so you've never played Persona? In modern Persona games, you get free time outside of story to do Social Links and raise other stats or just go grinding on your own. Persona 5 removes a lot of that free time. It forces a lot of story or makes you go to bed when you should be able to get one more day or night out of a lot of scenarios.

Not my fault you didn't understand what "free time" meant, also not my fault you type like a mobileshitter. And to make matters worse, you have clinical shit taste since by your definition, all Platinum games outside of Nier: Automata would be shit or mediocre.

are you mentally retarded or did you lose track of the conversation? wouldn't surprise me considering you took so long to reply.

i have 290 hours in my P5 save, 163 in my P4 save, and i dont remember my 3 one because its been years since.

Gee, not spending all my time on an imageboard makes me retarded. Sorry for playing 7th Dragon instead of just sitting on here.

Are you? Re-read all my posts. Now re-read yours. Where did I mention game length? Only you brought it up. Now you're ignoring where I had to clarify what free time meant. If you want to actually understand, re-read the posts I made, otherwise, fuck off.

no you fuck off, if i pay 60$ for a game then it better damn well last me above 100 hours, otherwise its shit and not worth the damn 60$. that was my point ever since you started being a smartypants autist and pretending not to understand what i was saying.

Persona 5 passed that test with flying colors, as i played it for nearly 300 hours, twice, and even defeated the lolis, all without switching out of merciless mode once.

I like most types of music but it really depends on the game, multi-genre music is fucking great when done right.
Unfortunately music in most games is generic and forgettable, which is a shame when they waste so much money on dumb shit.

Rather than come up with an cool idea and base a game around it, games now check boxes of what's popular and base ideas around that (and those ideas are also based on what's popular).

A rare tf classic with an interesting commentary. No e-celeb bullshit.

reminds me of old yt before google bought them out.
man i miss when the internet was more of a wild west and smart phones weren't invented yet.

I've seen some silly criteria for "shit games" in my time but you're taking the cake here.

Because none of them come close to how good combat feels in DD.

Normalfags ruin everything. Pic related was one of the first things I followed on the internet back when he was uploading. As much as I hate the comfy meme, it's really comfy to listen to some gaijin talking about life in Tokyo and squid-flavoured ice cream circa 2008.

Are there any good platformers which take advantage of a 2.5D gameplay system or visual style? I was watching an LP of Mega Man X8 and the way some of the levels would have the 2D plane of action curve around staircases and other geometry was really cool. It reminded me of Kirby 64 and I realized I haven't seen many platformers try something like that with gameplay, or draw attention to the aesthetic in level design/flow.

Strider on the PS1 is sort of what I'm getting at, if anyone remembers that.

I never grew out of liking heavy metal, so any good metal music in a game is a strong plus for me. Iji had problems, but the OST certainly wasn't one.

This shit looks like the 'art' I created in mspaint when I was 12.

Looking for some opinions on
Also I'm looking for a decent 2d platformer that's anything but a procedurally generated game, or Hollow Knight.

HAHAHA
YOU WISH LOL

That was the comfiest.

I like when the music shouldn't fit the setting but surprisingly does. Age of Empires 1 and 2 are prime examples.

Atmospheric music above all else.
If you're trying to be the next DJ via Videogames then you need to fuck right off.

My man. no homo

Video games are a great vehicle to get people to listen to music that they normally never would. As long as it fits the tone of the game, they generally don't mind things outside of their normal repertoire. Very few people would have even heard any jazz/funk in 2017 if it weren't for Persona 5.

Any of you has this keyboard, the G213 Prodigy? I bought it because it was too cheap to ignore and I would like to know a) is it decent? (I read the reviews but I trust you more) and b) are you a smoker? Does the stray ashes get inside it like in a normal off-brand keyboard?

Agreed, Disasterpeace has great music

Risk of Rain also had some really good music in the rock style

Hopoos other game Deadbolt had some more chill stuff which was also nice

How did everyone like space waifu? I thought it was a nice surprise for a short game.

Is GoNNER any good? user in a /mu/ said the soundtrack was good but hadn't played the game. I would also agree that the soundtrack is good.

Since you bought it why don't you try it and tell us?

Anyone know any roleplaying games with an early game struggle that's nice and long?
I like the feeling of just barely getting by with enough cash to heal up before heading back out to grind more monsters.

Breddy gud, but whatever complaints people might have about XCOM's RNG and Mountain Blade's repetitiveness will likely also apply to it.

It was okay, the visuals weren't outstanding so whatever.

Is this dolphin porn? I would rather have dolphin porn than anything remotely related to your image.

It's the "soundtrack" to sonic mania.
I directly ripped the files and tagged it. Is good bro, download it.

I kinda actually wanted dolphin porn, but this is nice.

I just want to know if I can smoke in my room while using the keyboard without having to worry about it falling underneath the buttons.

You should be more worried about the tumor forming in your lungs
