They're the biggest socialist org in America and are packed with MLs and anarchists.

Why does leftypol never talk about the DSA?

Too Much/Not Enough Rosa Murder

because their left wing is marginal, and the rest is filled with dirty DemSocks and liberals

most of this board is allergic to actually doing anything

those that make fun of DSA for being rosa killers never turn around and join SAlt or ISO or the IWW or any other group they just want excuses to not do shit

Isn't the IWW basically just gone now?

They have MLs?

meh just listing out all the ones I can think of and in some cities they're surprisingly active recently

I'm already NDP (Canada)

Sadly, the NDP is the tertiary party once again, and is lately less SocDem and more centrist, while the "Liberals" are slightly-less-worse neocons, as Canada ever follows in it's big brothers footsteps.

The DSA's national parties don't last, OP……

not a burger, but DSA looks like the best shot at creating a broad left wing base in America with potential to radicalise (relatively) large numbers of people.

sad fact is that smaller, more radical orgs are too old, too obscure and or too sectarian and usually too set in their ways to adapt to current circumstances.

Broad appeal of DSA + efforts to push members further left followed by a radical split further down the track seems like a realistic goal to work for in the short to mid term.

DSA adopting new strategy focused on lower level decentralized politics post-election

actually the trick is to keep building DSA numbers and make sure key members in the DSA chapter are in touch with parallel local socialist orgs, as sort of a normalization of those groups that would otherwise be seen as too radical

already employing this strat in my city we'll see how it goes long term

sounds reasonable user, would be curious to see how you fare with that. what are the other local orgs you're trying to connect with atm?

They don't really care what you're ideology is but I think the rule is you can't be a member of a "democratic-centralist organization" and DSA member at the same time because they are afraid Maoists or Trots would use the DSA name to recruit members then split.

Most of the Marxists in the party are in the left Cacus which wants to create a real political party and not bother with trying to change the democrats.

Someone pls correct me if I'm wrong.

DSA adopting communalism? :^)

Mostly coalition of DSA, SA and ISO so far

This is tentatively happening in a few cities actually with a plan to do joint events and cooperate on key issues. nothing is set in stone yet and we're feeling out which issues get across the board leftist support but I'm optimistic so far.

Turns out hatred of both Trumpism and Clintonite betrayal is a pretty good unifier for the left and helps to bridge some of the sectarian divide

It's social democrat garbage for gentry "socialists" who participate in irony twitter and are too woke to be Democrats.

which org do you recommend instead?

nigga if you """"woke"""" you aint shit

woke being the black man term for "enlightened"

it's just as fucking autistic sounding to anyone that isn't dumb as a brick

anyone in a "socialist" org that's a de facto branch of the Democratic party is both autistic and dumb as a brick

old meme, local chapter is running independents for council/school board and isn't even focusing on electoral politics as a priority anyway

like i said, they're retooling towards decentralized local chapters so that people can decide on their own what's best for their city

That's a fast track to ideological co-option.

that's always a risk you run, though i'm hoping heavy cooperation with other leftist groups will prevent this
