How do we bring them back?

I honestly didn't know India was ever socialist. And Portugal? cool.

Portugal and India both have relatively strong communist parties/movements right now. With Portugal in particular it's pretty funny, they basically give the finger to Germany and the EU

You gotta kill the capitalist machine first

Look how close the map was to a world revolution. Were never getting another chance.

In Indian and Portuguese constitution it says they are socialist.

But their not actually socialist right now.

Portugal is so socialist, their mainstream conservative party is the "Social Democratic Party" and their mainstream liberal party is the "Socialist Party".

I kid you not

Same thing happening in brazil

Fucking Gorbachev

Same thing also happened in Mozambique, Angola, Timor-Leste… there seems to be a pattern here.

Its almost that theirs some outside force stopping them….

That the "party" is too easily subverted for capitalist gain

Yeah. The fact their constitution protects private property.

...

wew

...

At least we did something.

and you did it all wrong

That was Stalinism. If Lenin hadn't died the soviet union would have been a democratic workers state.

At least we saved Europe

Nah it would be little different than it is today

muh internationalism

idk man it doesnt look very saved to me right now

Well the NEP and the state capitalism was supposed to be temporary. It would have been real workers control.

Whats that one country in south America that was socialist?

And what makes you think Lenin would have not faced, or better dealt with, all the same problems Stalin did?

Because he wasn't a fascist with a red flag. Stalin was never supposed to lead the soviet union.

That's hardly an answer, and I'm pretty sure Stalinists argue that much of the USSRs failings are a result of outside pressures.

If a Stalinstache poster wants to drop in be my guest, I'm not knowledgeable enough on the arguing points between Leninists and Stalinists and obviously I see them as irrelevant and problems with hierarchy existing all the same

The way it played out in the soviet union wasn't good. Specifically the suppression of the soviets. How ever i don't think that all of that is a direct result of Leninism.

If Lenin hadn't died you would've been telling "That was Leninism, Stalin would've done better".

Stop eating up Capitalist propaganda.

Fixed.

Grow up, will you? It's not a failing, if it is the best possible option.
