I was wrong. It's not shit. It's actually pretty damn good

I was wrong. It's not shit. It's actually pretty damn good.

What made you change your mind?

And what made you think it was shit

The game crashes everytime I try to get past character creation, so it goes in the doesn't fucking work folder along with Crysis and RAGE.

I stuck to the roads, grinded appropriately, got the hang of the portcrystal/ferrystone system, been making more and more curatives as I return from travels, and have been buying/finding better gear and enhancing all the time. Because of this, now the game doesn't feel like a slog. I feel like I can actually take on anything I find. So now, it's just fun exploring and finding new stuff and new big creatures to take down.

The first time I tried it, I just felt…lost. I was running around in the dark, both literally and metaphorically, without the appropriate necessities to be doing so. I would stumble upon creatures way beyond my level and stupidly try to engage them. The drake in devilfire gorge made me quit the first time.

naw, your tastes just got worse. it's a boring grindfest for people that don't currently have anything worthwhile to play.

Rogue is the most awful class to start with, everything is a goddamn sponge.

And people say, "git gud" and "learn how 2 play the game faggot" aren't good advice.

That's really weird, it works on my machine.

Oh, no, you are definitely wrong.

When did you realize:

I loved the hell out of this game before they added in the unlimited Ferrystone and extra portcrystals. You used to have to pay for ferrystones or hoped you found them, and there was only a couple ferrystones in the whole game, pre-Dark Arisen and the game was still great.

I was going back to the Catacombs to help pad out the "kill x number of undead" quest and found a Direwolf Cloak in one of the treasure chests, which looks really cool. That's the most recent moment that just made me realize how much I was enjoying the game, being able to revisit places and getting new stuff all the time. I'm gonna head to the Abbey for the first time tonight, too.

...

No it's not.
It's skyrim with built-in lolies.

Just go to Bitter Black Isle arleady, that's where the real meat of the game is at. Also if you want to make it even better you should go there as a low level character as low level as possible.

I did strider and I can't pick up any other classes because of the fun shit I've been doing with it. Plus the best "fast travel" option because of the dash you can get and regain stamina while maintaining sprint speed with roll, then humanoid enemies are super easy to kill because you can snare them. You can have fire element on your weapon all the time with a single explosive move. You also get a trait that reduces your stamina consumption when you're climbing big stuff and you can get on them easier with the double jump.

You think OP is retarded enough to go to BBI low level? The game even tells you straight up that BBI is for high level player characters.

You trickery will afflict no one.

My main gripe with this game is that there is no end-game post everfall and that makes me sad

BBI is end-game post everfall, what are you on about?

No it's not, what are you on about

Except it is, what are you on about? The devs LITERALLY made it, and had a re-release of the game with it, to be post-everfall.

None of the loot in the Everfall even comes close to what you find in BBI.

He probably meant post-Everfall as in after you literally become a god
I mean, you can't go back to BBI after you take over the throne at the end of Everfall. You can walk around and that's about it.

>kill yourself

None of the game warrants playing it twice once you are level 50 and up, which is the average level people are at when they reach the Everfall. By the time you are done collecting the 20 wakestones in the Everfall, you're probably level 70.

If starting a new game is what broke the camel's back for you, then I honestly do not know what to say. Playing the game through a second time yields no positive results. You are too high a level now to gain new levels , as everything in the base game yields minuscule XP, and NG+ offers nothing in the way of new loot and whatnot. Your only other option is to go to BBI, which is why it is considered post-everfall endgame.

I don't know, when I think of Dragon's Dogma I think of windswept fields and blue skies, not the grimiest dungeon it has to offer. BBI is certainly the most concentrated area for gameplay encounters, anyway.

You are missing the point I was trying to make, and I've already played through BBI (which was trash by the way aside from Daimon's bossfight)

I'm not trying to trick anyone, low level BBI Is the most fun I've ever had in the game.
I'm barely like level 20 in that very pic, and all the gear I had was stuff that's just lying around down in the labyrinth. Fuck, even posting that is making me wanna go back and make a new character just so I can experience it again.

BBI is basically what Dragon's Dogma does best concentrated into one expansion area.

You wouldn't prefer a more open arena? The cramped corridors on Bitterblack definitely accentuate how fucked the enemy pathfinding and clipping are. I'm lucky the garms have a habit of running into a small bump on the floor infinitely, but not so lucky when a cursed dragon kills me through a wall.

There are some open arenas BBI though, still I really enjoy the dark and claustrophobic atmosphere that that area has. The bulk of my game time both on PC and on console I've spent down there.

They are by far the easiest of the dragons.

So, I'm aware that certain side quests, like the ones involving NPCs can expire or get cancelled after entering the next stage in the game but do the notice board quests, the "slay x number of particular monster" expire or go away after entering the next stage? I don't mind doing the escort quests, or the NPC quests, but some of these monster quests are pretty tedious and I'd like to get the story going again.

Pretty sure they don't. I entered BBI the first time I played and finished some "slay 40 crows" quest while I was there that I picked up earlier in the game.

If you haven't done a Level 1 BBI playthrough, you haven't truly played DDDA. It adds a dimension of tactics to your exploration that's really exciting.

There are only 2 quests in the game that expire based on game-time passed, and about 6 that are missable by advancing to the next game "stage".
While in BBI, time in Gransys passes at a rate of 1 day per 1 week spent on Bitterblack.

I also really like Skyrim user

Sounds easy and boring.

Now that sounds like fun.

OBLIGATORY

THESE are obligatory

Can't deny, one of my favorite things about DD is how suffocatingly dark the nighttime scenes are, and how quickly combat encounters can sneak up on you.

Those have DD and DS reversed.

Yeah, nah. Don't get me wrong I definitely got my adrenaline pumping whenever a hellhound, ogre, or Death himself appeared, but I'd never want to do it again. It's just not fun when you make a small mistake or, more often than not the game's physics shit itself, and you die instantly.

lol Soulsfags

Not an argument.

I think it was really nice how much you could customize your toon and the different class progressions

PS: How do you make that green text?

At least our game didn't become an MMO.

They can be, it just happens they're used in the dumbest, wrongest way every fucking time.

Yet. Bamco already commissioned a full blown clone, what makes you think they'll stop there?

At least "my game" isn't thought of as a genre by Polygon

Low blow man

Hey, in an alternate timeline, Dark Souls is the Dragon's Dogma of action RPGs

Judging by your previous post, someone telling you to get good would be the rightest.

I don't have a previous post.

delet this

...

I guess it is me who should be getting good.

Just you wait, your turn will come.

...

Their series turned to shit and has an officially Namco-published infinite runner, give the guy a break.

Good for you, most of Holla Forums seems to just like it for the pawn(loli) recruiting or the amazing game mechanics. And most of the bitching is about the broken damage mitigation or the fact that the game was rushed with plenty of cut content.
But in the end, no one cares, because the game is great fun times.

I liked what potential the story had. Had the game not been rushed and met with various troubles this game could have really done some great things.

I wonder if there are any mods to make the game harder.

Yeah, they did some really weird things with the story, but it all came out like incoherent mess, before the ending. Avoiding sploilers, the near endgame dialogue is like from a different game, it's very good and made the world more alive than anything before. (This could be intentional, since the game was supposed to have a big inversion twist (two worlds), but who knows.)

Its one of those games I really like, but when thinking about replaying it I just have no motivation to do so. Shame too as I haven't done BBI yet.

But Dragon's Dogma is already the Dark Souls of Skyrim clones :^)

Play it on Normal next time, because Hard is actually easier than Normal outside of the very first ~2 hours.

Fuck you too buddy

Dragon's Dogma is shit. Only weeagoons could enjoy this braindead trash.

Get some mod that increases XP needed for leveling. There's apparently also been some progress on monster spawn changes.

This little shit heel, swear on me mum. He's a smarmy little jew goblin that also likes to collect coins in the fountain in front of the inn.
Also, is there a way to teach my pawns how to fucking open chests more reliably? Getting kinda tired of maneaters.

Thats a meme, I've done both, just don't grind or do postgame sidequests.

Play BBI underleveled on hard mode and your tune will change/.

Try going down again and see if anything is different :^)

That's like saying "a werewolf that's immune to silver" or "a vampire that needs to be in the sun to survive"

I don't think any of you actually know what a goon is. It's just something you say because you heard someone else saying it.

That applies to you as well, bud.

Watch out everyone, we got a badass over here!

The second daimon fight is so easy if you have BBI weapons, nigga has like no health.
The city filled with fucking drakes and those hammer bull niggers is some intense shit, though.

It's okay.
Holla Forums hyped the fuck out of it, for me, but it ended up not delivering on half of that.
Instead, it was a grindy little RPG with some cool skills and a mass nothing between dramatic awesome fights.

Really, a reddit meme from the space nigger?

Truly unacceptable

What the hell are you on about.

Would it be plagiary if another dev made a copy of Dragon's Dogma since Crapcom are not doing anything with it? Plagiary laws in video games are probably god awfully weak since there are so many Battleborn clones and Heroes of the Storm clones.

Even normalfags that only use kikebook know about the space nigger meme from reddit.
Do you live under a rock? How the fuck do you get internet down there?

Sometimes things get passed on second hand, not my fault the origins of it is from some faggot.

Japanese Skyrim

What an original comment, I have never heard anything like that before

It's absolutely not a meme. The primary effects of hard mode are double enemy damage, double player experience, and enemies constantly drop 10,000 gold. Due to the damage threshold system, the constant 10k gold drops alone allows you to constantly keep yourself geared and flush with consumables, and the double experience means you'll quickly overlevel all content, trivializing it.
I've 100%'d the game. Hard is consistently easier than Normal.
So your argument is that in order to make Hard actually, you know, HARD, and not significantly easier than Normal, you need to HEAVILY restrict yourself? You do understand that what you just said completely backs up my original assertion, right?

That's been a common phrase for decades you retard.

you know there's banter and then there's just looking to hurt people

It originated from the SPACE NIGGER YOU FUCKING UNDERAGE

You're wrong.

You just gotta power through the beginning, listening to a podcast or something while you do it helps. also, think up a new build you'd want to try out for you and your pawn. I've played it up until BBI at least 4 times now on pc.

The exact sentence is maybe a meme, but shit, it's still a combination of words easily used, stop sperging because you are triggered by something so simple.

It didn't originate from black science man, but it's pretty much associated with the reddit meme at this point. Same with "like a boss" and such.
Even if the phrase was hijacked, you need to discourage and cull it. Otherwise more idiots might start coming here, feel welcome and start nesting themselves in.

...

Download more ram

Yep, the Fallen City post-Daimon is easily the most difficult area of the game, especially if you don't know what you're doing. Even more than fucking around in the Bloodless Stockade trying to kill Death.

...

It became shit instead

...

You make it sound like grinding is essential, you've had nothing backed up but the fact that you like grinding.

Dragon Dogmas 2 NEVER EVER
Capcom must be allergic to making money.

You were right before, you're wrong now. There's nothing good about it, these games don't dpbelong on Holla Forums.

This might be my favorite game of all time, so long as the pawn servers are up, or able to be kept up/migrated by an enterprising individual.

You're right, we got right cucked there. It's also pay to win and took out all the fun of the classes, locking the hybrid natures of some of them behind entirely different classes. I'll never understand retards that want the MMO to come over.

If you play the game as intended with zero arbitrary restrictions, as the vast majority of players do, hard is actually easier. Arbitrary restrictions can never factor into an argument like this. Stop being a contrarian fuckstick, man up, and admit you were wrong.

i would agree just for the greatsword bit but everything else is spot on. DD and DS also has good combat against giant enemies, each game has their own pros and cons.

...

...

Thanks for this user, somehow never heard it before. Little too much autistic commentary, but when all the awful voices come together it's almost melodic.

It's still better than DaS2

Wait, is it really wave and not wind?

It is wind in the first chorus, it becomes wave after that.
