As a starter, he is worse than me. I could probably easily beat him in a 1vs1 match in Street Fighter IV. He has 700 points with Dudley, I got 3.5k. And what happens in that match is that Viscant studies LTG's moves and get's into his mind, and manages to pull out a huge comeback.

And that's what I love about SF, you study your enemies moves, you read their minds and predict what they will do. It's not just button mashing, there is a lot of predicting going on in fighting games and dsp sucks at predicting his enemies moves while he himself is very predictable.

As somebody who timed out Phils reaction time to between .4 and .45 seconds he is terrible at action games

fighting games seem to be the inverse of FPSs, in that shooters are far superior with a mouse and keyboard and controllers are awful for them, while fighters are the opposite of that. Are there fighting games that are good that are playable with a mouse and keyboard? I think I remember looking around quite a while ago and found that most fighting games on PC had at least a moderate amount of complaints.

I am not sure if one exists that can be played with a mouse and keyboard, but I doubt it to be honest. You will need a controller or a arcade stick. Now people will tell you that a controller sucks and a arcade stick is a must have (things costs 100-250) but you can get very far with a controller too. It's not ideal because some buttons are very hard to press, but it will get the job done.

Well first off you aren't going to be using a mouse since the scrolling doesn't apply to 2d or 3d fighting games.

Fighting games have always been about button input, A good player won't even be using a joystick if he's using a controller, and some fighting games outright omit the control stick, like Tekken.

A LOT of moves and inputs are near impossible to pull off on a computer keyboard unless you retrain yourself to associate certain keys with certain inputs in a resting position, and even after that after enough time you'll wear one of two things down, your keyboard or your bloody fingertips while doing twitch reflex shit.

The thumb is really the only digit that can handle the abuse due to the toughness of the thumb. As a dude who played silly MUGEN engine shit without a controller for a long time, it WORE DOWN my fingers to the point of needing to stop from the pain.

The difference between shooters and fighters are accuracy and twitch reflex in different ways.

In shooters, the accuracy and twitch reflex is ALL in the mouse hand, you have two basic functions in every shooter, point and shoot, while movement is secondary to success and you'll never have to tap the movement keys quickly, just plan and hold. In fightans, all buttons and functions are equally necessary since every action is pure twitch.

Dashes require double button pushes, attacks and combos require quick alternating presses and combinations, none of these movements can be done well with a keyboard, due to stress it places on the fingers.

At most, a god-tier player with a controller will be using 3 fingers on each hand using the crab claw manuever, while a non autist player will be using two on each hand for every function, thumb and index finger. This is why controllers are widely used.

Arcade sticks are different from keyboards in that the buttons are specifically designed to naturally be in reach by every finger, and are curved in such a way to prevent wear on the finger.

Fightans are played so hard that if you use the wrong controller in a high level match, or even for a long period of time, you could damage your own hand.

It's a bit of an overstatement, but that's the gist of it.

lel, that looks strange, no idea why it ended up looking like that. Anyone, once you got webm working, use these options: Variable Bitrate is imo the best method. With Constant Quality it's in my experience very hard to control file size. It says it will stay under 12, but it ends up being 20mb or something like that. Constant Bitrate is fine too but variable is in my experience the best one because it will use slightly more or less depending on what you need. Also always use vp9 over vp8. And turn down the audio quality. Audio wastes a lot of space, 96 opus is good enough.

I'm using slightly different settings, will try yours afterwards.
