They look to be rendered in using the in game engine since there's no pause between cutscene and combat. They prolly switch between gameplay and cutscene models for better performance though. Kingdom hearts as always looks pretty good even on weak consoles like the PS2. It's really the art direction and artists putting in a bit of extra effort with models, textures and lighting.

KH didn't have many cutscenes that weren't in-game.

I want there to be a "Find Mr Potato Head's missing parts" side-quest, but my hope makes me realize it will never happen.

They've said they plan to continue the series after Sora's story is over, so we'll be seeing them milk it for a while longer. My only question is will they have the next series star Sora's kid, shutting down all the fujoshit fantasies, or will they make a new character completely unrelated to Sora?

Kingdom Hearts is autism but weakening the console monopoly is all together a good thing. There is no realistic reason games not developed or published by console manufacturers shouldn't be coming to PC also.

Switch port seems more likely, though I don't know if it would be a technical downgrade or not; undocked/portable the thing seems to be roughly Wii U power.

Switch is a pretty decent jump ahead of WiiU docked, it's more powerful undocked too, but I'm doubtful we will see it on Switch either, gotta have those graphics. I am doubtful of a PC release, I'm just saying that such a thing would be good.

I actually like KH, but god damn, the people who take it seriously are cancer. The plot's a fucking trainwreck and the whole series is a pile of mismatched ideas. It tries too hard to be serious and edgy, while simultaneously trying to be light-hearted and childish, and failing at both because they can't figure out how to mix the two well. It's like one of those anime where the writers make shit up as they go and it all gets out of hand and becomes 3deep5you but the autistic fans are still sure it's all been planned out exactly since day one.
