Is it weird that I'm mostly playing for the writing? I love the robots and shit, mostly since they look cool, but the amount of dialogue written for everyone at all times is really neat, like the couple at the park that stays for about 4 days.

I've been meaning to play this again after trying to emulate it like a couple years back and just getting a black screen.
How does it fair on Dolphin nowadays?

Really hope to get back to playing the game in Nipponese by fall. Was doing it but got an ass load of work. First day or so was pretty accurate. Only change is the hero's scarf missing (An improvement as the scarf simply looks terrible graphically), a change to what the landlady mistakes Steel Hearts for and "Bottomfeeders" being an insult that sounds like bounty hunter (both are were changed for the perfectly legitimate reason of the jokes being impossible to keep as is without Japanese pronunciation).

Oh and in-case you didn't notice it, most of the major characters in the game have unique run and walk animations. It's most obvious when exiting the Z's hideout and you have 4 people behind you.

The funniest part of the entire game is when everyone calls you a retard for saying the earth is round.

The portraits were done in a way where you can tell the artist was clearly enjoying himself. As for considering it to look like it's "out of deviantart", consider looking at Okage: Shadow King (note that I am not calling that a bad game, merely speaking about the odd art style).

Haven't played Arena myself, but I'm guessing it really doesn't help matters that the DS wifi has been kill for years now, and thus no online multiplayer anymore.

I like the air jumps better than the air dashes, when I played with Comet in Arena I couldn't find her Arena artwork I was unstoppable with the Lightning Gun and straight firing bombs and pods, it was so fun
